I was thinking today - what is everyones favourite Phoebe and Cole era?
Okay so I can't remember the exact episodes, but I loved Phoebe and Cole the most when Cole was "good" - after his demon half was vanquished, but before the Seer pulled the strings to make him inherit the power of the Source. I think the episodes are around 3x14: The Good, The Bad & The Cursed to 4x13: Charmed & Dangerous.
I just loved seeing him fight alongside Phoebe for good. Yes, he still retained his demonic powers. And of course it goes without saying Cole was evil for a very long time and killed countless innocents (probably totalling in the 1000's range).
This being said... This is not my favourite Phoebe era and not necessarily my favourite Cole era. However it was my favourite era for them as a couple.

I think they were at their best from the beginning of season 4 to when Cole had his powers stripped. Before this, there was too much drama and betrayal, and Prue and Piper didn't trust him fully. Then after he lost his powers, he was confused about how to live his life from that point on, and Phoebe was oblivious to this. And of course, the whole time he's the Source is just tense and very unhealthy for them both as a couple.
But I liked in the early part of season 4 when most of his drama with being magical had taken a back seat, and when Phoebe was more likable. I enjoyed watching them work together.

I like them best at the beginning of S3 before Phoebe knew that he was a half-demon, the same way I like Piper and Leo best at the beginning of S1 before Piper knew that he was a whitelighter. I sincerely wish that Cole was just a non-magical lawyer and Leo was just a non-magical handyman, and both relationships only lasted one season - Leo just in S1 and Cole just in S3. Although not as dramatic, I think both sisters would've been a lot happier that way. What I like best about these possible relationships is that both guys would've been closer in age to the sisters.

I agree with what you said.
Phoebe and Cole should have been the power couple, a reformed half-demon and 1/3 of the most powerful witches of all time, especially if the writers wrote Phoebe's power advancements correctly.
Phoebe; should have been the most evaluated psychic by the end of the series, with receiving visions of the past, present and future, being able to Astral Project, able to sense when someone is lying and when there is evil around (which in my opinion should have been what Empathy was used for), I would even make the suggestion of her being able to hypnotised or create psychic links with certain demons to get useful information from them.
If they also cared about her Psychology degree, she should have been a forensic psychologist, being able to work in the court system to help people without the use of magic, really would have brought her a sense of good.
Cole; with the amount of knowledge he had obtained throughout the years of being a demon working for the Source and the Triad would have given him an advantage over the Book Of Shadows, the Charmed Ones could have added additional information about Demons, Warlocks, Evil Witches etc with Cole's comprehension and experiences with these entities could have drastically helped the sisters with their missions. Having Cole use his Demonic powers for good, could have shown that the human side of him was stronger, with his powers not being governed by hatred but instead humanity and love.
Cole being a lawyer could have helped him cover for the sisters, Phoebe and Cole could have been working cases together with them being a power duo in the mortal world as well as the supernatural.

The only times I don't like Phoebe & Cole is in S3E13 "Bride & Gloom", S3E14 "The Good, the Bad & the Cursed" (kinda), S3E20 "Exit Strategy" - S3E21 "Look Who's Barking", S4E22 "Witch Way, Now?" - S5E12 "Centennial Charmed". Otherwise, I was fine with them, for the most part.

Phoebe and Cole definitely could have been a great power couple. Cole was so immersed in magic and had been around so long, and Phoebe was sister who liked being a witch the best and seemed the most interested in it, at least for the first few years. I wouldn't want it to focus solely on them, but the two of them could carry a show for at least a few seasons on their own if it was organized as Brianna said.
And Es, I definitely agree about the sisters needing partners closer to their own ages. It gets overlooked in the show because Brian and Julian are around the same age as Alyssa and Holly, but realistically in the show, besides magic, what would men who were so old have in common with two young women?

Oh, no, I wouldn't want the show to be centred around Phoebe and Cole either, I just believe that they should have been a Power Couple in the series, in my opinion, they being the power couple would have been more believable than Piper and Leo. Charmed should have always been about the sisters and their relationship with each other with their relationship with magic being their second priority. Even in my dream Charmed where Phoebe and Cole are the power couple, Phoebe's relationship with Prue, Piper and Paige is her first priority, with witchcraft being second and her relationship with Cole being her third, which he understands due to the Charmed prophecy.

Oh gosh, I have no idea. I loved him as Balthazar, Human, as the Source and lost Cole with the powers from the demonic wasteland. I’m glad they gave Phoebe and Cole such a long storyline because with Prue gone it was the only thing that truly held my attention. I think when he came into the source’s powers was probably my fave era for them in terms of the entertainment. Otherwise it was the fact that he fell for Phoebe while half demon and was on the side of good for a while even though he was still half evil, that was my fave era in terms of their love story. So so sad that he took in the hollow to save the day though and was overtaken by the source - he didn’t ask for that and when they found out it was like “Cole is evil again!!” when it wasn’t his fault :/

I do NOT like Phoebe & Cole, in the following episodes:
S3E13 "Bride & Gloom" -Turns Cole into a stalker/can't take "no", for an answer. A little prerequisite to what we'll see later in S5A. -Phoebe manipulating Cole's love for her, to get Prue back.
(Kind of) S3E14 "The Good, the Bad & the Cursed" -Return of Stalker Cole. -Phoebe changing her mind from her "I don't want to be with you" to "you're staying!" Make up your mind!
(Kind of) S3E20 "Exit Strategy" -Mostly the ending, when Cole was coerced into killing Janna, for his father's soul. I understand Phoebe doesn't have her glasses but even a BLURRY vision can see TWO individuals. Not to mention, I'm sure her hearing is fine, and I don't like how she couldn't even HEAR the dialogue exchange between Renner and Cole, but I digress.
S4E22 "Witch Way, Now?" -Pretty much the birth of S5A Phoebe. At least, it's a prerequisite to it.
S5A -S5E1 "A Witch's Tail, Pt 1" -S5E2 "A Witch's Tail, Pt 2" with the exception of its ending, but that's it. -S5E3 "Happily Ever After" with the exception of its ending, but that's it. -S5E4 "Siren's Song" -S5E5 "Witches in Tights" -S5E7 "Sympathy for the Demon" -S5E8 "Witch in Time" -S5E9 "Sam I Am" -S5E10 "Y Tu Mummy Tambien" -S5E11 "The Importance of Being Phoebe" -S5E12 "Centennial Charmed"
(Kind of) S7E16 "The Seven Year Witch" -Canonizing Phoebe's relationship with Cole is "the reason" why Phoebe "can't find love". NO! She "can't find love" because she's NOT honest with her partners! A tough lesson she learned back in S6E13 "Used Karma" with Jason. 'Cause they were together from S5E17 "Lucky Charmed" until S6E13 "Used Karma". She even moved into his place in S6E10 "Chris-Crossed"! They were LIVING together! How DARE this episode!
S8E16 "Engaged & Confused" -I didn't like Phoebe calling her relationship with Cole "pathetic".
S8E17 "Generation Hex" -A "call back" to S7E16 "The Seven Year Witch" on why Phoebe's "closed off heart to love" is because of Cole 🙄
