Doing another rewatch of the series. I’m on the first episode but I really wish that they kept Andy in longer than the first season. I would have enjoyed to see what would have happened to him and Prue.

I love Andy so much. I wish he had been there for the whole run of the show, and that of course Prue had survived as well. I'd much prefer them being the off again/on again couple of the show instead of Piper and Leo, even if they didn't ultimately end up together.
Andy was a great character for so many reasons. He was very likable and smart and had a lot of potential for his own storylines. But also, he had a good relationship with Piper and Phoebe. Leo was the only significant other of the show that ever displayed this, and it wasn't shown after he became a father. I liked that Andy felt like a brother to Piper and Phoebe instead of just having a connection to Prue.

He grew up with the Halliwells. I even loved his friendship with Darryl. Darryl would've benefited having Andy around after S1. The show didn't do enough with Darryl other than just being used when they needed a cop. I'll always wish Andy was on for eight seasons and Leo was just in one. Piper’s character would've been better off without Leo. The show felt so one sided after the first season when it shifted to being more central to the magical world and demonic world. With less focus on even the sisters personal every day lives unless it was their romantic lives. S1 felt the most balanced with the non magical world vs magical world/demonic world. Sometimes less is more with the mystery of the Elders and the Underworld. I could've done without ever seeing the Heavens or the Underworld. If Andy didn't die and stuck around and Leo didn't come back after S1, We'd likely never see the Elders, whitelighters or the heavens. And never see an episode like P3 H20 which means no half whitelighter Paige. No idea what they would've done if Prue still died. The half sister likely would've been like the reboot one. LOL maybe Leo really did ruin the show for the worse coming back after S1. As that set off the chain reaction that set up so many plotlines for the rest of the shows history. It's fun just imagining how different the show would've been if Andy stayed and Leo stayed gone. |

The further the show progressed, the more encased in their own worlds the sisters became. Suddenly jobs were available and easy. Their clothes didn't often match the setting, like too revealing things at work or something over the top on a day at home. I didn't feel like I was watching people who were relatable in any way. The older I get the more I like season 1. Or I guess I should say I appreciate it more, since I've always liked it. It felt like a great blend of normalcy and going on this amazing adventure. |

I would have enjoyed to see what would have happened to him and Prue. Also he was a normal good guy. Not a misoginist and he knew the sisters and their history. He was almost like a step-brother. Compare him to Leo who is an old man in his 70's? who watched Piper grow up as a kid. (GROSS!) And Compare him to a cold blodded murderer like Cole who is 100 years old and blatantly grooming Phoebe. Andy never took Prue's strength away, if anything he bought out her vulnerability. Dan was also a kind man , not a manipulator. I am glad that at least Paige ended up with Henry who was like Andy in someways. |
