No. "Morality Bites" proves that - Prue was alive in the future and Paige wasn't part of the Charmed Ones.
But then I'll always believe that S4-8 is an alternate-universe spin-off and Prue never died in the real universe, nor was Paige, Wyatt and Chris ever part of it - Patricia and Melinda were.
In the real universe, their destiny was to save innocents, not vanquish the Source like it was in the alternate universe.

I don't believe it was always her destiny to die. I think we just look for signs of it coming since we know she eventually did. Outside of the show, of course, Prue died because of real world things that happened. In the universe of the show, none of that exists, even if the real world is always going to have an effect on the pretend one.
I think Prue was meant to be the mirror image of her mother, someone who was very similar to her and yet survived. I think it's a much better story if she has the opposite type of a life.

I love the idea of Prue being the mirror image of her mother - it makes me wish more than ever that no one had died in AHBL or if Piper or Phoebe had instead, so Prue would've had her chance to be that mirror image.
