LOL some of my friends who haven't talked about Charmed with me in years. Send me a text message telling me to check out Reddit because someone posted photos of the con. I don't use Reddit just the Cafe so I went to check it out. So decided to share these. Those who are part of both here and Reddit, I'm sure already saw these.
It really must be a huge deal if friends who haven't cared for Charmed in so long are coming out of the woodwork excited about all this coverage with the reunion with Holly, Rose and Shannen being together. It's gaining some traction.

I love seeing Shannen and Rose together for the first time. Really cool! And we got a group hug with Shannen, Holly and Rose.

It's gaining some traction. Ain't that the truth. People all come out of the woodwork when its something big. I know I've lost so many friends over the years due to fandoms coming to an end. That's just life. Some tend to just move onto other shows or move on in their lives.
This might be my favorite of the Shannen/Rose ones.

Loved seeing all those photos, ESPECIALLY Shannen and Rose of course. That was the one I was most looking forward to seeing posted over anything else.

I feel weird because this reunion did nothing for me. I feel the same way. I think a lot of it is because I don't think Rose looks anything like how I'd think an older Paige would look like - so it's Shannen and Rose together, not Prue and Paige, which I was looking forward to seeing. I'm much more interested in the characters than I am the actors, especially since the start of the podcast.

So I watched some of the reunion panel finally. And I was disapointed. It just felt flat.
I guess I was expecting much more from Shannen and Rose being together for the first time. Nothing we didn't already know. Other than stories of Shannen and Rose meeting each other before Charmed.
I did fast forward through the boring questions asked that we've heard before many times.
The only real take away was Shannen revealing she's starting her own podcast or will be on one in a few months and is FINALLY ready to openly reveal the truth as to why she was fired from Charmed.
I haven't paid attention to the podcast in ages. I might just do the same with these cons too. Unless others here for future cons share something worthwhile. They're getting boring.

I feel weird because this reunion did nothing for me. I did love the hug and pictures that got me emotional but the actual panel was a let down. I'm upset because I was really excited for the panel. It was also too short. But I felt too many people on one panel makes it worse. You get better answers out of people if it's more intimate.

I feel weird because this reunion did nothing for me. I'm still pretty upset that Alyssa wasn't there to be honest.

I've noticed whenever Holly books a future con appearance for this year, Rose immediately books not long after, not that she's doing that on purpose to stop Alyssa going (LOL unless she is but I doubt she cares). But I have noticed Alyssa ALWAYS does cons solo, she's never been with the rest of the cast like since the show ended (apart from doing that greys episode with Holly, she's been quite distant interacting with the cast in person or at any kind of event). She's always been flying solo for the past 17 years since the show ended whenever she's doing any kind of event.

I feel like they are all trying to stay relevant, especially now Drew Fuller moreso - even though I like his take in the podcasts.
But also, why now - why couldn't these conventions have happened in the 2000's. Feels like a desperate plea for relevance.

But also, why now - why couldn't these conventions have happened in the 2000's. Feels like a desperate plea for relevance. HAIL TO THAT!!! This doesn't seem fair especially for Holly and Brian (despite how you feel about their characters). Holly and Brian (especially Holly) have been doing these conventions for YEARS! As we've heard Holly say, time and time, again, their network didn't do much for them nor the show, other than air it. We all know how awful the network treated Charmed (Holly being threatened with a lawsuit for not abiding by ber contract). It wasn't until AFTER it ended (2006/2007), where they more free to do these kinds of things especially Holly and Brian. Holly even got booked for Pretty Little Liars (which was a 7 year run), in 2010 and was STILL doing these cons, on top of being a mother (which is already difficult as is, believe me), IRL. Holly's attendance for these things is AMAZING! Shannen attended a few of these things and then got cancer and had to take a break from all of this. We have to remember, not everyone gets asked to do these conventions so when it pertains to Drew, he may not have been asked. Holly and Brian (especially Holly) will probably be highlighted more 'cause they were around for all 8 seasons, and Holly since the unaired pilot. And, Rose was constantly being blacklisted and has her issues with Alyssa. So, it's a safety issue, for Alyssa. And, Rose not wanting to be around Alyssa. Pertaining Holly and Brian (especially Holly), I don't think it's fair to say they're just looking for fame or trying to remain relevant by attending these cons that they've been asked to show up for. Honestly, if it weren't for Holly and Brian's amazing attendance, I don't think we'd have all of this, to begin with. EDIT: I wanted to add that Shannen even defends the Reboot and doesn't tolerate anyone dragging it through the mud. I don't think she would say that, if this was all just for clout. I'm dumbfounded that these actors are being dragged through the mud for trying to appease their fans. It's amazing.

And just to add, the podcast probably took A LOT of planning especially in grabbing a lot of the guest stars like Anthony Denison, John Cho, Gregory Vaughn, etc., to join in on that. You know how perfect your timing has to be for all of that to happen?
EDIT: I remember Drew saying the talk of a Podcast kept getting brought up, for awhile. But, like I said, to get it that perfect in getting the guest stars on, takes planning and fitting in their schedules, too.

There have been a few with Holly, Brian, and Drew together. It's Rose and Shannen that don't do a lot of them (Shannen for health reasons and Rose because of her own things). Some actors love the convention circuit. Look at how much Jason David Frank did before his death. It wasn't that he wasn't relevant but that he found joy in being around fans. Unfortunately for him, it wasn't enough. James Marsters does a lot to connect with Buffy fans. He does have to cancel a lot of appearances because of his other work, but he still loves the vibe of conventions. The Supernatural actors keep doing theirs too despite them still having a lot of work since the show was canceled. The life of an actor isn't easy, so being paid to do a convention is worth it for some as they get to connect with fans. I know a lot of actors who don't like dealing with the BS of showrunners. Things are getting better but there are still a lot of bad directors and showrunners out there, and if they've had a bad experience, it's hard to break the trauma cycle from it. (By the way, hi! I'm back...this time, I'm trying to stick around. I know it's been way too long!)

Drew has been doing a lot of these cons for years, too. There have been a few with Holly, Brian, and Drew together. I do agree that he has. I just know of other cons where he's not there, and it's (mostly) Holly and Brian (sometimes with somebody else that's not Drew). Examples: I just don't think any of them are doing it for clout/extra fame/trying to remain relevant is my main point. I think that's a pretty disrespectful thing to say considering there's no evidence to back up that claim.

And, Holly has been on a few Pretty Little Liars panels/cons/interviews, as well and is constantly getting asked about Charmed, when she's supposed to be there, promoting PLL. And, PLL was from 2010 - 2017, and we can see Holly doing multiple cons/panels/interviews for BOTH Charmed AND PLL (and PLL is fairly popular!), so I don't see how Holly (in particular) is doing this for clout/fame. I just don't. She's just saying "yes" to all these invitations to all these "cons"/"panels"/"interviews", that's it. What's the alternative? For her to say "no"? :/
The first thing to come out of this interviewer's mouth in interviewing Holly for PLL is about Charmed, so :/

Even if it was just for clout, it's their lives. If they're doing what they want to do, then let them go for it. It's not like the convention circuit in the early 2000s was anything like what it is today. Going to conventions was looked down on so much in the past. I remember getting laughed at for going to a convention back in 2008 by friends. Now all my friends go to conventions for various fandoms. This is the stars' chance to meet the fans that made their show big. While we always say Charmed wouldn't be what it was without the actors, it also wouldn't be what it was without the fans.

Oh yes, it goes both ways. Yeah, cons were like that back in the day. I remember when I was young hearing how some of my older cousins got laughed at for dressing up in Star Trek or Xena costumes attending cons in the late 90s. Times have changed. The only downside I find is how pricey the cons can be. I do ask myself how people can afford to spend over a grand for VIP and photos and autos with all the cast. If it brings them joy, its worth it. I just wish I could. There's quite a number of cons I never could attend due to the price.
