I was scrolling through Reddit and saw a interesting topic and I thought I could bring it here:
The question: How would they have introduced Paige without P3H20

Paige would be their older half sister and a child Patty gave up as a teenager for whatever reason.

They would have still tried to pull it off, and probably still the whitelighter route because of Piper/Leo. It wouldn't work as well, but we'd all still roll with it. It just wouldn't have the 1.5 year "setup." (Even though it wasn't a setup since they didn't mean to do that. They just got lucky they did.)

It would be so fun to have the Paige character be older than Piper and Phoebe, (or if one of them died, Prue and the other surviving sister), and watch the juxtaposition of an older, more established adult being the nascent witch of the group. Especially if Prue survived, we could get to see her being a "little" sister of sorts.

That's how the rip-off did it, and from what I can tell, it worked. Personally I would've loved to have seen her as having a warlock for a father over a whitelighter. Maybe that way, Wyatt and Chris would just be witches and not half-whitelighters which let them take over the show.

If the witch/whitelighter hybrid thing never happened due to them not being able to reproduce or not having whitelighters all together?
Or if Sam never existed
Hmmm... I would say that they would have still gone with a younger sister - as a younger woman in the 90s/2000s woul dhave attracted viewership on the WB.
Maybe if Prue could have been the spirit of the Book of Shadows or the Nexus and remained the 3rd sister.
Then I could imagine Melinda coming along as the baby followed by 2 male witches Wyatt and Chis.
Phoebe should have always remained the youngest and had a halfdemon half witch child with Cole, and two younger girl-witches with Drake.
Prue coming back as the spirit of the Book of Shadows or a Familiar like Salem on Sabrina the Teenage Witch would have been a great continuation.

I think Brad Kern would have done the same or worse. It was a brilliant idea for him to pass on the powers of whitelighters and be able to hide Paige. What a disaster. Or he would have changed Prue's face. The base of season 9 is also interesting but no one can interpret Prue like Shannen does.

I did have an idea that I submitted a while ago about how Paige could be introduced differently herself so if P3H20 never happened then perhaps she could be introduced in season 3 as an innocent Phoebe gets a vision of who needs saving which the Charmed ones do.
Paige lives in her loft and works as an assistant social worker like she originally did in season 4.
The story of her being adopted remains the same with the added thing of her trying to locate her real family then.
Her and the Halliwells become friends through meeting at P3 and form a bond obviously.
Cole/Belthazor is still introduced and tasked by the Source to go after the PO3 which he does early on as well as have a relationship with Phoebe like the original too.
He's also told there could be someone out there that might reconstitute the Charmed Ones if any one of them died so he watches out to see who that person is as well and kill them of course.
Prue, Piper, and Phoebe discover their powers aren't working which worries them so they try to figure out the reason with Leo asking the Elders also if they know anything themselves.
The Elders think of any way to get rid of Paige and set about her getting a work promotion magically in another town hoping she moves that doesn't happen.
Once the Source finds out Paige is the sister's half relative he sends Shax to kill her.
The girls discover from Cole now good who Paige really is and that Shax is after her of course.
They find out the Elders' secret too of knowing who Paige really is and the reason for them trying to get rid of her based on Melinda Warren's prophecy that only 3 women can have Charmed powers, not 4 hence why theirs weren't working because Paige shorted theirs out. The other reason for the move also was to protect Paige from being killed by evil which now would happen if Shax got her.
Post-season 3 after one of the sisters dies whoever that is Shax is still after Paige with the remaining Charmed Ones trying to save her.
When they do and the PO3 is reconstituted the rest of the season plays out with them defeating Shax in the first episode that's more believable this time having known one another a year so the bonds there for the collective power to work the same with the Source later on who isn't vanquished but locked up like Zankou was because he becomes so powerful he can't be killed overall.

Seeing Prue butt heads with her new sister would add a cool new dynamic when Prue can't boss her new half sister around. I even find the set-up interesting if Prue did die. It would add an interesting set-up with their older half sister being independent but clashing even more than Piper and Paige did at one point as lead witch.

I would love to see Prue and her older sister fight and have to work together on magical things. It could also be fun to see the surviving sisters, either Prue and Piper, Prue and Phoebe, or Piper and Phoebe, teaming up to deal with the newest member of the family. It's fun to think of especially Piper and Phoebe dealing with someone older who they clash with, or even Prue and Phoebe bonding over dealing with this new family member. For some reason, I'm picturing their oldest sister as very put together in her career but kind of a mess in her personal life. It would be so entertaining to watch especially Prue and Phoebe commiserating over how frustrating this new family member is, while at the same time this new sister eclipses them both with her job and is a lot more established in her life.
