This came up in the games chat and I've realized I don't know what anyone does for work/career. Of course only share if you are comfortable! I am a healthcare social worker (got my Bachelor of Social Work). I know Social Work is sortof different across the world - we don't have associate degrees here in Canada but I am assuming it is like a equivalent to a diploma from college? Anyway I'd love to hear from everyone

I used to work in a printing company. COVID hit them hard and they went bankrupt. I work from home on small jobs now and help out a friend with their work from home with managing their Instagram page.
forbuss if you're curious, you can check out the Introduction page. There's a question asking What is your occupation and some fill that in.

I was working at the public library at the time. Tbh it was pretty brutal. Our government did give us a monthly recover benefit of 2000$ - this sounds like a lot but after taxes it equaled out to be less than minimum wage.

I work in the accounting department of a wholesale florist, mainly entering information from cash, checks and credit card slips that our customers used to pay us. I've been there since October, 2000, and love it, especially because the building is only 7 blocks from home, so unless the weather is bad (and then there's a bus that travels the 7 blocks), I walk to and from work.

I work in childcare for the YMCA charity organisation which I've done since 2006.
Through that, I do breakfast club in the mornings so I work at a catholic school and give the kids their food before taking them to class then do after-school club where I pick up other children from another school and take them back to the YMCA building I work at via a minibus and do activities with them till their parents collect the kids after work.
At lunchtime, I'm a dinner lady at the school where I do breakfast club but that time work for the school itself and not YMCA.

Not that I know of, though there are several taxi enterprises in my hometown as well. The market is hard. But I'm looking for something different as well.

I am so jealous you work so close to where you live. I have to take 2 public transit busses to get to my work and it takes like an hour and fifteen minutes. Also, I love flowers I just bought myself a big bunch of them yesterday! I worked at a community center and we would do breakfast for the kids, then walk them to school. We'd get them at lunch and then feed them, take them back. We'd pick them up after school and give them after school snack and play games until their parents arrived. I also usually got to eat the lunches the kids had (haha). I wasn't vegan then so if I still worked there I probably couldn't eat much lol.

Previously worked as a Server and occasional kitchen hand at my local restaurant. This was a job to get back on my feet post-COVID. (Until May 22, 2022)
Librarian assistant (As of May 17, 2022) I LOVE my job here for the past year. It's so much fun. I love books, i'm so much happier here than being a server and kitchen hand, I'm also getting paid better than my last job.

That's nice to hear sandra. I know it's not pleasant for certain people to be doing a job they don't like but with the current cost of living crisis some folks can't leave even if they want to because they need the money then.

I work with the little sisters of the poor in France since 10 years. They are present all over the world. I'm with old people like Paige in "love's a witch" 😅. I walk to and from work too !

I work as a Hiking Guide for a National Park. Camp Counselor during the busy summer months when it's summer camp season. Think P3 H20 from Charmed with the camp. Good thing I don't live that far from the National Park. About a 12-15 minute car ride from my house.
I'm happy to have found a job much closer to home. My previous job was an hour away (sometimes 20-30 minutes more if I'm in heavy traffic) working as a childcare worker.

I'm retired dears! But I have a local community center I love to attend in my retirement. I missed it dearly during COVID. Basically, I enjoy all the activities they offer. I also attend the community lunch every Thursday and always enjoy catching up with my friends. My granddaughter even has a job working here after she graduated college. So it has an even more special place in my heart now.

The public libraries here in my city are really more like crisis centres - people using the bathrooms to use IV drugs and lots of people in MH crisis. I've had to scrape people off the floor, administer naloxone, call so many ambulances and police. Plus the teens were really brutal. I was assaulted twice at the library and really didn't get any support. I am very glad to be at my current job haha. It took me awhile to find one that paid better but I am happy here

I'm sorry to hear about what happened to you at your previous job.
No one should be assaulted doing what they do.
I'm glad you got a better-paid one which you like more overall of course.

That sounds like a good job Phoebe could've done which would incorporate some of her psychic talents if she read tarot cards herself and the carefree personality she had earlier on also.

It would be, but I think back in the 90s it is also not quite what someone would consider a "normal" job as it is considered to be today. I am also surprised that Phoebe has not pick up tarot reading herself, using tarot cards to help see the signs of their future could be an extension of her ability which might help her not relying on forcing premonition that often? At least I think it could work.
