Dan or Leo?

If you only had 1 choice between these two for Piper

I don't like either, for Piper, but if I had to choose, I pick Leo because Piper and Dan gross me out.

Actually neither. I'd SOOOO prefer Mark for her, especially if he never died and they managed her restaurant, P3, together. That way Wyatt and Chris would just be witches with only one power.

And who knows? Maybe we'd never hear the word "whitelighter" or "Elder" or "half-whitelighter" or "witchlighter".

But between these two, I'd choose Dan with Piper telling him the secret the way Paige told Henry. I'd want Leo to stay in S1 where I think he belonged.

If they had to remain in S2 the way they were on the show, then my real choice would still be a huge NEITHER, so since I had to vote for one or the other, I didn't vote.

If I had to choose, I'd pick Dan. I like Leo's personality better, but him being a whitelighter changed the show too much. Imagine how different things would have been if whitelighters and elders and up there and whatever else didn't exist. I'd personally like the tone of the show much better. But his powers aside, I'd pick Leo.

However, for the most part I think Piper did better without being in a relationship and also without having kids. Choosing between Dan or Leo carries more weight than just picking one of two guys.

I understand the whitelighter disgust. I (myself) don't like it, either. And, the whole like "not having kids" thing, however NONE of that should factor into couple chemistry.

I mean, who's to say Dan & Piper wouldn't have kids? Pretty obvious Dan wants kids.

Really, the argument boils down to the whitelighter nonsense and even that, what does Leo being a whiteligther have to do with his chemistry with Piper? You said it, yourself, that Leo fits in that mold better, but you didn't pick him because he's a whitelighter? That makes NO sense to me especially, in the end he becomes mortal, so it REALLY doesn't make any sense, to me.

The anti-whitelighter bias is showing, that I feel the answers are being corrupted/skewed.

EDIT: Again, I don't like either for Piper, but I feel like Piper has the better chemistry with Leo than Dan. And, picking Leo doesn't mean you support what the writers did with whitelighters.

I prefer Piper and Leo, but I dislike what the writer did to whitelighter and eventually with Leo's character, making him as a mortal and all. I always see that being strange, like why fallen whitelighter become mortal, shouldn't "fallen" angels be like darklighter or demon of some sort?

That being said, I never like Dan much, he's too vanilla. I think he's on the cast so to add conflict to Piper's love life, he didn't even have a purpose there after Jenny is gone...

This pretty much explains it. 

For Piper, I pick Dan because the show is a walking reason why Piper and Leo shouldn’t be together; there’s an issue around every corner. 

I hate how the writer’s destroyed them, because they could’ve been the ultimate couple. I think that when the elders stripped his powers after he healed Piper, he should’ve stayed mortal. Either that, or be a whitelighter and never be with Piper, simple. 

Dan had potential. I agree that he was pretty vanilla and didn’t have any flaws, but had he been with Phoebe, that would’ve been an opportunity to peel back some layers of his personality. 

but I agree that they simply introduced him as a way to create drama for Piper, and I hate it.

Since you mentioned Dan and Phoebe, I have to add that I've always wondered that if Ted King (Andy) hadn't decided to leave the show so Brian Krause (Leo) would've left, if in S2, if Dan would've been matched with Piper or if they had used him as a way of forcing Prue to choose between him and Andy. I love imagining what Charmed might have been like had Andy survived and Leo stayed in S1 and the Charmed Ones only had a whitelighter for the first year that they knew they were witches.

I can also see Andy dating and marrying someone else - he wants his white-picket fence. I can see them having a child - Prue's godchild. Then I'd match her with Cole, but she'd vanquish him in 'Sleuthing'. She'd just have fun being auntie to Piper's and Phoebe's children who are only witches, not halves.

Leo.
I've never liked Dan. Just an annoying, incredibly dull and useless character, with a distinctly jealous possessive streak and slight tendency toward nastiness. Also: uniquely greasy with an exceptionally irritating niece. In hindsight, Leo was absolutely an awful and highly inconsiderate husband with a decidedly fragile ego (particularly in the later seasons), kind of a self-centred sleazy creep and maybe even something of a terrible person but at least he was tolerable and brought something of value into the equation.
