How would you skip your bad parts out?

Post Season 4, this is how I thought how I would cut out some of what I believe are the bad parts of Charmed - without taking away too many essential episodes. For me this includes

1) Taking out the destruction of Cole's character by cutting him completely out of Season 5 and starting to The Eyes Have It after 4x22 WItch Way Now?. (Only see him in 7 year witch)

2) Skip from there until to Wyatts Birth, Cat House (wedding cake topper cliffhanger) and Sense & Sensibility

3) Skip from there until Loves A Witch, My Three Witches and Soul Survivor to start Season 6 off and to explain Chris from the future, Leo now being an elder.

4) Go to Chris Crossed to reveal Chris, then, The Courtship of Wyatt's Father, Spin City, Crimes and Witch-Demeanors and A Wrong Day's Journey Into Right to explain Inspector Sheridan in Season 7 and how Wyatt was supposed to be saved from Evil (otherwise you could go straight to Imaginary Friends in Season 7)

5) Skip the rest of Season 6 for 7x05 to start Season 7 with Styx Feet Under until 7x22 - Something Wicca This Way Goes.

6) Forget about Season 8.

This reminded me of a way of watching the last four seasons of Charmed the way one of our members, DStar, did this. I tried re-watching the last four seasons of Charmed her way and like it a lot more than Canon Charmed.

Okay, so I finally saw all of Season 7 and 8 via Netflix. Here’s what I gathered:

I realized something very drastic as I tried to love Season 7... Since I hate S6, I watched S7 right after S5 and I didn't enjoy it. I didn't understand why or how their personalities changed so much. S5 they were more light and comedic; S7 they were more serious like they were in S4. Some S7 episodes were very boring and dragged on. But I noticed something... what ruined me liking this season most was watching it after S5.

I decided to skip S5 and S6 and watch S7 right after S4. I must say it helped A LOT. Watching S7 after S4 made S7 a lot better. Their personalities in S7 resemble the earlier seasons of 1-4. A lot of references of what occurred in S4 are mentioned. S7 also has what Charmed was about from the beginning: protecting the innocent. There were some episodes that didn’t fit in or were just plain boring, so I decided to remove the boring episodes that just dragged on and just include the good ones.

THESE are the S7 episodes that I no longer have:

A Call to Arms
Bare Witch Project
Cheaper by the Coven
Charrrmed
Once in a Blue Moon
Charmed Noir
Ordinary Witches
Imaginary Fiends

These are all the episodes I've removed..

This is just personal preference. The Avatar plot that dragged on for 13 episodes is now limited to 6. I watch ‘Styx Feet Under’ as the first episode since it has them trying to protect an innocent. I think it’s more suitable since they decided in S4 to keep their powers after the they protect an innocent. Skipping these episodes also skip most of the show inconsistency, except Magic School and Paige being a whitelighter. I couldn't stand Wyatt having a million powers; now he only has whitelighter powers which is orbing, lol. All the episodes are self-explanatory. The boys’ births are shown in flashbacks and everything is more to the point.

Now there is a two-year gap, but to me it’s okay. I pretend S7 starts with a sign that says “Two Years Later”. By skipping S5 and those episodes, this season is REALLY good. It’s more direct. And their attitudes make more sense. Piper seems to be like she was in S4, Phoebe seems matured, and Paige is more comfortable.

I recommend anyone who is as unsure about whether to buy this season as I was to try this approach.

I’m not saying that S7 is perfect but watching it after S4 and starting it with ‘Styx Feet Under’ is a lot better. Leo isn't as crazy either.

Also, skipping the Cole arc in S5 and watching him in ‘Seven Year Witch’ after S4 is a lot more fulfilling to their situation. I love it... S7 is Charmed going full circle. The Drake storyline is fun; I loved his chemistry with Phoebe. And the Zankou storyline is good. For some reason the finale seems a lot better watching it after S4. I also end my version of Charmed when Phoebe says, “Here we go!” and the explosion. That way each fan can decide what they want to have happen. I found no need to keep S8.

So now my collection is Seasons 1-4 and Season 7. Now I wouldn’t necessarily suggest all fans do it this way since some do like the other seasons and each fan should have their chance to decide, but this works for me.
