And I would like to think that she's Prudence Melinda's daughter, so there's still a female line - Penny to Patty to Piper to Prudence to this one.
To me, Melinda is the one in the "Morality Bites" universe. Prue is alive in that one, so naming her Melinda makes sense, but with Prue dead, it makes more sense to me that Piper would name her daughter after her big sister and best friend. And that's what Piper was going to call Wyatt if he was the girl he should've been.
Also, the granddaughter looks younger than the other kids who run in, so they'd be Wyatt's and Chris' while this one is Prudence's.
