Shannen Doherty, known for her roles in on the wildly popular series “Beverly Hills, 90210” and on the witchcraft fantasy “Charmed,” has died after being diagnosed with breast cancer in 2015. She was 53. “It is with a heavy heart that I confirm the passing of actress Shannen Doherty. Oh. So sad.  I'm also strangely shocked. I obviously knew that she was stage four, but she seemed ... I don't know ... healthy ... kind of? Healthy isn't the right word here. Maybe it might be more accurate to say something along the lines of more "vibrant" or "lively" than others I've known who are at the end of their journey living with advanced terminal cancer. RIP. |

This is so sad. Prue, Piper and Phoebe were part of my childhood and to see one of them pass away as early as this is almost heartbreaking. It was remarkable how she handled cancer and remained positive and embracing life and the passion for her work until the very end, in spite of pain and loss. RIP, Shannen Doherty.

Looks like we got a couple of threads on this topic. What I said in the other thread: We just started S3, too. Well, we're halfway through it. That last episode is gonna be tough. I remember some speculated her podcast being "now" was 'cause this was coming soon, so. Though, the new and improved HoH podcast is gonna be on hold again (sigh). Now, we'll never have a Charmed Reunion. The best we got was with Shannen, Rose, Holly. RIP Man, that funeral scene is gonna hit that much harder T_T Time to watch that brief funeral scene </3 |

Like all fans I am sad and shocked. We knew but we weren't prepared. I was hoping to listen to the podcasts. Prue will never come back and Shannen is gone with a part of our childhood. Many thanks to her for her professionalism and for bringing my all-time favorite character to the screen. 😞

RIP. This hit me so hard. Prue never came back after S3. Hate to say it but I really am not sure if I can rewatch the end of S3 and start of S4. It hits harder now.
Shannen was amazing as Prue. My childhood just died a little today.

Horrible news to wake up too. It's affected me too. As in one has impacted me cause of a beloved show from my childhood. Like I think I can't rewatch S4s first 3 eps for some time. Thanks Shannen for giving us so much with Prue. RIP. |

This  what sad sad news, I’m really heartbroken for all her friends and family and all those who cared for her. I’m also quite shocked, I too thought she was relatively ‘lively’ considering how unwell she was and thought she had much longer. This has really hit me, I was genuinely in tears (is that ridiculous aha). But I hope she’s at peace now. |

I cried too, the first time I cried for an artist, for someone I don't know personally, which actually seems ridiculous. Cancer is terrible, we have hope and then we are stunned. It's unfair, Prue had an unfair death and so did Shannen. I feel like I've lost a family member, it's strange. |

RIP. This death really hit me. I did have a slight tear in mourning. It hits differently because both Shannen and Prue have passed. It makes re-watching Prue's death hit differently now.
I hope she is at peace now.

My childhood just died a little today. I hadn't even thought about rewatching it differently but it made me feel sad watching That 70s Episode with my nephew this morning. My Mom was saddened too from her memories of Little House on the Prairie and 90210. I can feel my childhood heart breaking in the 90s knowing this day would finally really come in real life too. Thank you so much Shannen for what your gave us. Thank you for bringing my family closer together! Never give up! |

I haven’t been around for a while but I just saw the news a few hours ago and I’m absolutely devastated at the loss of Shannen. I didn’t think it would impact me as much as it did as I didn’t know her personally but I cried a little bit when I first heard the news. I know she wanted to live her best life and speak her truth until the end and she did that. I’ve always admired Shannen as an actress and for being true to herself, no matter the cost. I know she is no longer suffering or in pain. I hope she rests in peace.
