I think it would take more than Holly. I think (believe it or not), it would take Alyssa along with the rest of the executives. Now that I think about it, she may even do it as a tribute to Aaron Spelling. Look at the Charlie's Angels reunion they did for the Emmys (right?). Heck, the rest of them might do it for him. After all, didn't he pass away just after Charmed finished?

I agree. I think that bringing Prue back would bring in a HUGE audience - one worth making a movie for. I know I would go see it!! The only possible way to draw in a large enough crowd for a Charmed movie would be to have Shannen Doherty return (that alone would take a miracle) and but to also have a good love story and have an insane amount of explosives at some point. It would have to be some epic battle of some sorts and can't just be like any other episode they've had. It would have to be new. However, they could also opt for a TV movie or something.

I didn't mean it would take just Holly to convince Shannen....I think it would take Holly in conjunction with the new studio heads at Paramount (most of whom Shannen probably wouldn't have had previous "issues" with).
Honestly, I don't know how much of a factor Alyssa herself would be in Shannen's decision. It would depend on how many of the behind-the-scenes rumors were actually true. So we don't know if Alyssa would necessarily need to personally offer Shannen an olive branch to get Shannen to consider doing the movie.
Likewise, none of us know specifically which executives working on the show or from the parents studio were the ones who Shannen specifically had tense relationships with. Kern may have gone head-to-head against Shannen, or he may have tried to avoid butting heads with her as much as a showrunner possibly could. We just don't know.
But regardless, Holly would definitely be a key ingredient in making it happen. I also think Holly more than anyone would understand (and empathize with) the fans who felt we never gained adequate closure from Prue's offscreen death.

Honestly, I could see a Charmed movie working out this way. They get Holly, Shannen, Brian, Drew, and Wes... but they don't get Rose or Alyssa. I mean, I can totally see that being the case.
Then again, if they got a really good script, then why should they object? On top of that, should they ignore the fans that kept them on a payroll for 8 years (well... 5 for RM).

WT, FF: There are obvious and unknown hurdles which would have to be dealt with, not withstanding SD even considering the idea. She may have "moved on" from Charmed, as noted earlier and may never want to have anything to do with Charmed ever again. She has had a few years to do many other things, so it's just a question of how nostalgic she would feel about the topic.
Whereas RM and AM just stopped doing the show only somewhat over a year ago. They've been doing lots of other things and may need time to back away fro the show to re-establish themselves outside of Charmed. Right now neither of them can be mentioned in a sentence without their involement with Charmed. They may feel the need to distance themselves for a while. Meaning it may simply be too soon for them to consider a Charmed related project.
For HMC, which may be the exception, she may be the only one who would do such a project so soon. Given that right now we've heard nothing of any new career moves for her. She is obviously content with raising her family and taking some time off away from acting. Hopefully, she'll be back soon.

I hate to say this, but one thing actors always need to consider is their fans. After all, would Shannen Doherty have her own reality TV show if she didn't have fans who tuned in every week?
Anyway, I think that Alyssa is one of the few exceptions to Charmed. She alone will forever be considered the girl on "Who's the Boss?" and then she re-invented herself into the girl who takes off her top in B-list movies and then of course into the whoever she played on "Melrose Place" and eventually she became Phoebe.
Personally, I think Phoebe was one of the few characters she's ever played to actually have some substance to it. Granted, AM is doing her "clothing" line and her charity. The charity work, in particular, I applaud.
RM of course has starred in "Grindhouse" since her departure from Charmed. I still find it hard to believe RM actually lasted on a TV show like Charmed because I consider her a movie actress. Then again, I suppose after you play the girl who gets killed because her boobs don't fit through the doggy door in "Scream"... then I guess played a lighthearted Paige was perfect.
It's pretty much unlikely that there'll ever be a Charmed movie. Kern has no intention of ever doing anything with it again (as he said that he doesn't ever get any ideas for any storylines).
This is another case of Buffy-syndrome. A television show that had a long-run on television and then once it finishes, nothing happens. We know there won't ever be a future anything with Buffy herself (because SMG is adament about not ever doing anything Buffy again) and there won't be anything Faith (because Eliza's grown out of that character). All they have now is the official season eight comic.
Maybe we'll get lucky and there'll be a season nine comic written by Holly and Brian (that would be cool). Only then they might be able to test the popularity of Charmed.

Does Brad Kern have exclusive rights to Charmed? If not, he is the reason for Shannen Doherty fight with Charmed. I would like someone else beside Kern if there would be a movie project. A whole new fresh ideas give Charmed some life.

Brad Kern doesn't have all the rights. They're shared throughout the producers along with the production company (Paramount). All we know about who owns what is that SD owns 5% of Charmed.

FF: That's interesting about SD owning 5% of Charmed. Still, whoever has the final word (unless it's a decision by committee), if there's money to be made, they'll do it. Still, it would have to be a good story and whether they get the cast back or not, it's about the risk investors would be taking in sponsoring the project, TV or big screen movie.
As for SD and her fans, you have a good point. However, actors still seek roles based on what they want to do next, if they have the luxury to pick and choose. If not, they need to work and make money like anyone else. Still, SD would hopefully not ignore the outcry of her fans if such an opportunity came along. Granted a lot of things would have to come together, and all that would need to be arranged by someone, but who knows what the future would bring.

PS. There is another Charmed Website where some very imaginitive people have literally created a season nine. Basically, they wrote scripts and used some stock Charmed footage to create previews. It's one of the Charmed sites noted at the top level page on this site where they list affiliates.

The thing is: and I hate to sound brash, but Rose and Alyssa are only going to be "hot properties" in Hollywood for so long.
Eventually, they're going to fall into the category of being thought of as "older actresses" by most producers, and will be less desirable for plumb roles. Presumably, they're still going to want to continue with their careers as actresses...and it's at this point that they'd probably become open to considering doing some sort of Charmed reunion.

Some actors are always at risk of losing their jobs forever. Only some actors have the luxury of doing as they please (such as George Clooney or Brad Pitt). Some who used to be extremely popular can become very unpopular overnight (like Halle Berry after Catwoman).
Finally, there are some actors who can come back after being labeled as "has-beens" because they're aging. I think a good example of this was Teri Hatcher. She received her dream job of "Desperate Housewives" because of her age.
Right now, the Charmed Ones are all facing the "age factor". Since none of them are A-list actors, they're really going to have to fight for the roles they're going to receive. Mind you, they all still have their beauty. As they age, they will be offered by "wife" and "single mother" roles for movies and television. They'd be lucky to get into a show with similar success to "Sex and the City" or "Desperate Housewives".

WT: You're right about the way female actors wind up very quickly past that "leading lady" role and start getting the "mom" roles. Hollywood certainly has a thing for thin and young. However (and you knew there would be a "however"), there seems to currently be a major interest in 30-40 something female actors. Especially on TV. Look at Saving Grace, the new TNT series about to start, The Closer, and there is going to be a Sex in the City movie. AM's show, Reinventing the Wheelers was not picked up because there were already too many shows (supposedly) with female driven leads. Personally, I think that's bull (not that AM said it, but that they had the nerve to tell her that).
Anyway, RM and AM still have a few good years left before they wind up in mom to teenager roles. HMC too, but you're still quite correct that they do have only so much shelf life for a such a project, and then they have to find other actors or move then into the future as parents and not just young and married types. Still, right now I have a feeling that doing anything "Charmed" related is not on their radar right now. RM would probably be the last to sign on if it were TV related. She might be more amenable to big screen movie, but it's always been harder for TV to make that leap. There are some exceptions, like Star Trek, but mostly they go the other way.

Well, I don't know what everyone else thinks will be the timeframe for this hypothetical Charmed reunion, but I doubt it will be in the near future.
If it happens, it will probably be at a time in the leading ladies' careers where they are less picky about what jobs they can get.

Or further in the future when they do a Bionic Woman approach and start from the beginning with a new cast, with some of the old cast making guest appearances. Like in 10 or 15 years. That's one scenario. It would great if they would strike while the iron was a bit warmer, but I think you're right in that it won't be any time soon.

I think that if they made a charmed movie, it would be awsome however, they way they ended the series tied up all the loose eneds and there woud be no nonned, unless it was set in the future or the continured with the charmed one kids or something I dunno, but I think that would be pushing it.

You're right. If the movie came out relatively recently, some kind of new storyline would have to be created. And having it mainly to do with the next Charmed generation would seem to be one of the only likely ways to do it. Of course I don't think I would might that, as long as they paid homage to the TV show. Ofcourse if a Charmed movie comes out in several years or some decades, like Charlie's Angels or Startsky and Hutch, then they could use a condensed form of the TV show, itself. Ofcourse, then different actors would have to play their characters, but I'm sure the SD, HMC, AM, and RM would be given a cameo if they're up for it. It's something to think about.

yeah for sure, if they did do something like what they did with charlies angels, make the charmed movie maybe 20 0r 40 or 50 Etc, years later, that would be cool as well, It wouldn't destroy the series.
and if they did make a movie that long after they could even ignor the old series and start fresh with a different actors (I think that would be the only way toi do it as the show was definatly closed in the 8th)
and having one of the orignal actors doing a cameo would be awsome as well

I think all previous fans of Charmed would hate having others play the Power of Three. The actresses became their characters and I can't imagine anyone else playing Phoebe or Piper or Prue... Paige... I really don't care because I'm not fond of Rose McGowan's acting anyway.
The only logical thing to do years down the road is something to do less with the Charmed Ones but their future or past relatives (perhaps a movie dedicated to the life and times of Penny Halliwell?).
Another thing they can do is always do an "alternative reality" Charmed movie (just like comic book movies are). This way, they could easily write out characters or even write it so Prue never died.
