They're both molecular based.
Temporal Stasis is slowing down molecules, while Molecular Combustion is speeding them up.

I've thought that she could always blow things up. She just got more control on them in Season 3.

No, the first discovery for her was that she could freeze people in Something Wicca This Way Comes (S1E1) when she froze Chef Moore when he wanted to test if Piper's pasta dish was any good. Piper had forgotten the Port in the dish and froze him by an accident. Her power to blow up things came much later. Which by a funny coincident also was while preparing food, but just at home in their own kitchen. |

Yep, that's right. It was the clock on at the passport place because she was getting pissed off. Then, when the sisters came up, she had blown up a watermelon. (Now I'm hungry!)

actually piper blows for 1 time when they are with leo in queue . blowing that clock becouse she got angry waitting so long

In "Pre-witched" (season 3), Shadow the familiar-turned-warlock stole the power of deflection from a witch. He deflected Prue's telekinetic power, then Piper's freezing power. If Temporal Stasis was deflected, why did the vase beside Piper blew up? If temporal stasis was deflected, nothing should have happened, because good witches don't freeze. But since a vase blew up, I was thinking maybe that was the first time Molecular Combustion manifested.
