Time shure runs fast.
We are now running fast toward the 10 year birthday for Charmed, the child shure has become big.
When she took her first baby steps, not many was following them, but today the child shure has become big.
Millions are watching the child getting older as each day goes by and now she is moving very fast toward her 10 year birthday on the air, nothing looks like to be able to stop her from getting older on the air.
There will always be tv stations out there that will re-run her, so she gets older and older as each day goes by and she will gather more fans as each day goes by when she gets discovered by new generations that follow the path we took almost 10 years ago and become fans of Charmed.
October 7th, 2008: The 10 year birthday for Charmed on the air.

Let me straighten this out as a mathematician. Okay, how many years are there between October 7, 2008 and October 7, 1998? If you indicated 10, then you would be correct. There are 10 intervals between 1998 and 2008. Here they are listed:
1998 - 1999 Charmed Season 1
1999 - 2000 Charmed Season 2
2000 - 2001 Charmed Season 3
2001 - 2002 Charmed Season 4
2002 - 2003 Charmed Season 5
2003 - 2004 Charmed Season 6
2004 - 2005 Charmed Season 7
2005 - 2006 Charmed Season 8 End of WB
2006 - 2007 Charmed Season 9 (Fan-Fictions) Holy CoW
2007 - 2008 Charmed Season 10 (Fan-Fictions) CoW Pooh!
I suppose since this would have been the 10th season of Charmed that's why this thread was created! Now, is it a 10 year anniversary as well?
Again, this is a matter of counting. If you assume that Charmed was 1 when it was created, then yes it now would have been 10? But, is that how we celebrate birthdays? Ask yourself, please!
Let's see: on May 20th, 2007, I turned 53. I turned 1 when it was 1955. Let's see: 1955 - 1 = 1954. And, according to my birth certificate, that's the year I was born. Thus, 2007 - 1954 = 53.
For Charmed this means: 2007 - 1998 = 9. Charmed would only have been 9 years old had it survived. It would only now be living its 10 year of existence just as I am now working through my 54th. I will have completed 54 years by next May. Charmed would have completed 10 years by next October 7, 2008.
Bottom line: 9th Year Anniversary was this year! 10th year is next year! Too soon to tell!

No, you're not an idiot. Please don't even imagine you're one. The title of this thread is somewhat misleading. How many will miss the 2008 year date and just automatically imagine it to read 2007? What stood out for me was the 10 year birthday stuff. I sloughed over the date. That's until I read Assassin Witch's posting. Then, I re-read the title, double-checked the start date for Charmed (Keith Topping's source book Triquetra which I have next to my computer!) and then did the mathematical analysis. Oh well! Time DOES fly!

Now thats what you get for just running over the subjects, it can play mind games on you.
But look at it, we are now under 1 year away from Charmed's 10th anniversary, its been a little over 9 years since Charmed went on air, now thats time that sure has run fast.
The same will happen for the rest of this year and 2008, then we are celebrating the 10th anniversary for Charmed.
You can make the time go much faster, it depends on how you spend your days. Do something good with them and suddenly you can light 10 candles on the cake.

The funny thing is that when I first read the title and the first post, my reaction was, "Wow! One more year and Charmed will be ten! We've got a whole year to plan something very, very special."
Any ideas how best to celebrate Charmed's 10-year anniversary??
Of course, the best would be a TV movie showing what has happened since the sisters wrote in the Book before they began imagining what could've happened--what we saw as the ending of Forever Charmed--how else could they write about something that hadn't happened yet? (I'll always insist that both Kill Billie Vol II and Forever Charmed are Piper's fantasy as she burns on the stake--that's why it's so Piper-centric and makes no sense with the rest of Charmed)
But somehow I don't think we'll be that lucky, so we should start planning something of our own instead.
Ideas, anyone?

For you who live in the US, you could also have a "Charmed Gathering", a day where you meet each other and celebrate the 10th for Charmed.
Many fan clubs for other series (like Star Trek) do these kinds of gatherings each year where they meet other fans to celebrate and talk about their most favorite tv series.
If you did such a gathering in the US, someone could bring along i digi camera and put up the pics on the main site (thecharmedones.com) to show the other members around the world how your little gathering went.
I once was at a gathering for Star Trek and we had huge fun.
One even had come up with dishes and drinks from Star Trek for us all to enjoy.
You could do the same, the most favorite dishes and drinks that Piper created on Charmed.

That requires having a place and time set. And just to meet up with others is okay, but it's not a real convention.
Brittany (TOP3) has been to a few Xena conventions with actual actors from the show and a whole bunch of stuff. A message board can't really do that because there is no financing.
