Have any of you been watching "Journeyman"? Watch tonight's episode if you can!!! The main character Dan Vasser actually lives next door to the Halliwells!!!!!!  The Manor is in many exterior shots, his house would in fact have been the house of Piper's Dan ...spooky! Even shots of the street are familiar (ex."That 70's Episode") There was alot of the house in today's episode. If you miss the Manor as much as I....watch Journeyman! |

Its pretty good.
It bears alot of comparison to Quantum Leap as he pops back and forth through time, but only his timeline. He cannot end it until he resolves the problem that sucks him in. His ex who was his soul mate but died young acts as his guide, so its a little bit of Ghost Whisperer. This past episode which involves a nosy FBI guy who is investigating the paranormal beefs up the plot when he makes a cryptic comment to he character's brother as he questions him. He implies there are other time jumpers like Dan. The writers/producers may have waited too long to introduce the arch that may explain why this happens to him, sealing their fate.
Especially since the FBI guy dies taking his theories or knowledge with him!

I have not viewed Journeyman yet but I have heard a lot of people compare it to QL. I might take a peek one time if I can find out when and where it shows. |

Wow that would be th shortest lived series I have ever heard of next to Jake in Progress which I used to watch Religiously but now have not heard of since the first season finale. Journeyman is on NBC right after Heroes, if I'm not mistaken, on Monday nights.
I noticed the houses too and thought why would they use that specific street as those are supposed to be real houses, right. They're not just on a set in a studio somewhere, right? Charmed, which was supposed to be in San Francisco, was never shot there (just those aerial shots at the beginning of almost every episode). Those houses are really in Echo Park, LA, according to the information on this site. Obviously, the people who own these houses are paid for this usage, but why would this show use this specific house. It's not like it wouldn't be noticed. You have to think it was either on purpose or people in LA just put out advertisements or list their houses for use in TV shows and movies.
Anyway, I'm glad someone else noticed this and, by the way, despite the similarity to Quantum Leap (of a guy going back in time to make right what has gone wrong), there is also a strong resemblence to the story found in "The Timetravelor's Wife", where a man, for no reason, is sent back in time for unknown reasons. One big difference is that whenever he travels in time, his clothes don't go with him. Something that wouldn't work well on TV. Anyway, besides this twist, is added that "Quantum Leap" type of story of making things better.
Now why Livia keeps showing up whenever and to wherever he travels, is another yet unexplained mystery. However, one of the posters in this thread is correct, the show is not doing well enough in the ratings to survive long. Which is too bad, as it's just starting to reveal what the time travelling is about (obviously, related to the Physicist that appears now and again).

Well, they do a lot of location shootings in LA. If you are a fan of Heroes, then you probably should be aware that the high school shown - Casa Verde, I think, supposedly an Arizona high school - was actually shot at the school where I teach in Panorama City. Small world, hunh?
RENO 911 is shot in the Valley in the general area where the Whitnall Freeway was to be built. It's now just powerlines, garden plots and dog parks. That's about as far from Reno, Nevada as one can get.

It would be great to bring the charmed ones into the show and do a combo episode where he has to help them, but because of the way he zaps in and out, they think he could be a demon.... Sorry, just daydreaming. I did not expect to miss the show as much as i do.  |

Unfortunately, because I liked the show and it was fun seeing the manor on TV again, the show Journeyman has been cancelled or at least not picked up for any additional episodes. It has two more left and that's it. Ratings were really low. I think the main character could just not carry the show on a national network. It would have faired better on the SciFi channel or even the CW. It was also too much like Quantum Leap, but it also had a touch of "The Time Travelers Wife" story in the background.
