“No, Chris!!!!!!!!!!!!" Piper screamed as she was thrown to the ground.
The fireball slammed into her son instead full on at his chest. Chris crashed back into one of the P3 chairs painfully, face contorted in pain and smoke rising from the bleeding wound on his chest. At the same time Piper doubled over, gasping in sharp pain and clutching her chest where a mini Chris is.
The demon sneered nastily, loading up to fling another fireball at Piper. “After this witch, I’ll kill off your sisters one by one.”
“Go to hell!” Piper spat, glaring across at the demon through a haze of pain.
“I come from hell!” the demon laughed cruelly, hurling the fireball straight at Piper.
Piper was immobile, starting to breathe heavily now, pained eyes fearful as they watched her end drawing ever closer in a bunch of fiery flames. Chris watched on helplessly, eyes clouded over as the life begun to ebb from his soul, chest heaving up and down and looking ashen faced and grief stricken.
OCC: Please give reviews cos' I need to know whether I should keep on going
OCC: Lol...eh, I'm thinking about it. We'll see,
Chris though, with the last of his remaining strength, uses his telekenisis to send the energy ball back at the demon. The demon screamed in agony, writhing and twisting before finally exploding in a shower of flames.
Piper started to breath heavily as did Chris, she glanced to her son and whispered. "Don't you worry, everything's gonna be okay."
"No...it might....be already too...late," Chris smiled weakly at her. "At least....at least I saved you.....protect....Wyatt."
"No, don't say that. Leo!" Piper gasped.
The Elder appeared in a swirl of blue lights. Leo's already worried face increased as he saw his son and ex-wife. He went immediately to Chris and placed his hands over the wound, features tight with concentration. The familiar healing glow surrounded the bloody injury but it didn't close up.
"Why didn't it heal?" Piper managed to say, tone obviously panicked.
"I don't know..." Leo answered softly, brows furrowed.
"The demon....Orlon....his fireballs...some.....cause pain to the victim....and won't kill them....until....until," at that point Chris fell unconscious.
"Leo...orb us back home," Piper breathed through gritted teeth, closing her eyes as continous pangs of pain now gripped her stomach.
Leo held Piper's hand and placed the other on Chris's, then all three orbed out.
At the Manor things weren't going well or perhaps at least in the terms of cooking. The two sisters had decided to make a cake for desert and Piper but it hadn't worked out the way they had planned it to. At the moment there were pieces of cake splatted on the floor and the kitchen was a mess. Paige hurried out of the kitchen where faint smoke was filling out of the door. Phoebe followed close behind, her hair slightly burnt.
"I told you to watch the cake!" Phoebe coughed, waving away the smoke.
"Well I really needed to...." the rest of Paige's sentence vanished into thin air as Leo, Piper and Chris appeared in front of them.
Well, Chris and Piper were on the ground and Leo was kneeling.
"I need you to look up a demon called Orlon, hurry," Leo said directly, worried gaze locked on his family.
Paige was the first to recover from the shock and she orbed out. Phoebe moved to place herself in between Piper and Chris in front of Leo.
"What happened?" Phoebe's eyes were wide.
"I don't quite know," Leo answered quietly, stroking Piper's hair and his softened green eyes carrying the care that he had not ever lost for the woman beside him. "Hang in there," his eyes travelled to Chris, "both of you."
"It's good to see you again," Piper whispered, smiling slightly up at him.
Leo smiled tenderly and what a remarkable change it made to his face. He seemed happier all of a sudden and his eyes crinkled at the corners. "I'll always be happy to see you Piper."
As he stared into her eyes his arms started to move downwards, despite the predicament they were in he found her even more beautiful than the first day he had met her. Piper, held by his capivating eyes, stared back, forgetting her pain for a moment. Then as if the pair were born for it, they slowly, slowly embraced each other gently.
"I never want to loose you," Leo whispered.
"And you never will," Piper answered with a smile, eyes closed and chin resting on his comfortable shoulder.
