I have serious troubles with writing. As most of you know, I am in the middle of a triology. I definately will continue writing it, but I also decided to write another fan fic at the same time. I was afraid that if I didn't start typing it, I would forget it by the time I finished my triology.

Please note that this story has nothing to do with my other series.

Summary: Coles alive. I know you are thinking it's just another regular Cole story again, but Cole dosen't even live in San Fransisco. He lives in a small town right outside of France.

Need to know: Piper and Leo have gotten back together, and Phoebe and Jason are still broken up.

I will start my story using letters from Cole, but afterwords it will be like any other story.

Manor Kitchen

Phoebe, Paige and Piper are enjoying a rare afternoon alone. They decided to catch up on each other's lives.

Paige: So...Piper, how are you and Leo doing.
Piper: We are doing great. I can't imagine what my life would have been like if we stayed apart. I love him so much, and all I ever wished was to be a family again.
Phoebe: Well looks like your wish came true honey. Are you ever thinking about expanding your family again. Paige and I would love to become aunties for another child.
Piper: Actually, Leo and I have mentioned the letter B in our recent pasts.
Paige: OHHHHH, I hope you do decide to have another child.
Piper: Oh, Phoebe speaking of a letter, one came in the mail for you.
Phoebe: Oh, really? Who's it from?
Piper: I don't know. It has a return address, but no name. It came from France though.
Paige: OHH lala. Do you have any secret admirers Phoebe?
Phoebe: Not that I know of. Let's see who it's from.

Phoebe unfoldes the letter, and starts to read.

Phoebe,

I know your probaly wondering who is writing right now, and I don't blame you. Well....It's Cole. I know you hate my guts for all the horrible things I did to your family, and you have no reason to ever forgive me. But please let me start from the beginning. ....When Paige finally vanquished me.
After I was vanquished, instead of arriving in hell, I came somewhere else that was full of white light. No, It wasn't the elders, it was a higher authority. They sensed all the good Could do in my lifetime. After explaining what events had occured they decided to give me a second chance. I still can't believe why they would ever do that.
After lots of explaining, they stripped me of all demon sides and powers. I became a normal human. I was relocated to a small town in France and given a whole new life which I am eternally grateful for. During the past year, I have been trying to straiten my life out, along with helping people in need. I Have been able to help one person in particuler, but I'll tell you about her later.
Now your probaly wondering why I would be writing you since I have a new life. You could even come and kill me now that you know where I live. The reason I decided to go through with it, was I thought you neded to know. You were once my heart....my life. You were always there when I needed you most, and I wanted to tell you if you ever needed help or advice I would be there for you.
The last thing that your thinking is I'm trying to win you back. But please know that I would never put you through that pain again Now that you know I'm alive, I want you to live your life to it's fullist, without having to worry about me taking you over again. I realize that you have a whole new life, with whole new responsibilities, and I want you to take full advantage of that.

Phoebe and her sisters sat in shock, not knowing what to do.

Piper: Oh my god! That %$@# is still alive.
Paige: I can't believe it. Phoebe, do you want us to kill him this time. He said so himself he has no powers.

Phoebe, for the first time since reading the letter....

Phoebe: I....No...Leave him alone.
Paige/Piper: What!?
Phobe: He said so himself, he won't bother us.
Piper: Ok, but if he comes near you....
Phoebe:I know.

One week later

Everone now knows about Cole being alive, but are resuming their semi normal lives. Phoebe never wrote Cole back. It is now Phoebe's birthday. Everyone has been celebrating, and have just returned home from a long days party. It is late at night.

Phoebe's room

Phoebe is sitting on her bed, staring off into space. Piper walk in with an envelope in her hand.

Phoebe: Hey pIPER
Piper: You got another letter...from Cole.
Poebe: Oh, let me see it.

Piper leaves the room, and shuts the door. hoebe opens the letter.

Phoebe,

I know I'm probaly the person you would like to hear from least right now, but I really wanted to wish you a happy birthday. I mean you only turn 30 once right? I hope you have many wonderful birthdays to last you a life time after this.

Phoebe was thinking to herself.He was being so nice, but she could never make the hurt and pain he caused her to go away. She had decided after reading his last letter that she wouldn't write back.

That didn't stop Phobe though. She still hated Cole to the bones, but if he was making an effort, she should too. That's why she decided to write him a letter for his birthday. Aferall, it was the following week.
It read:

Cole,

Even though I could never forgive you for hurting me so badly, you have made an effort to be nice to me. It means a lot to me that you have tried to give me space. Happy Birthday, and I hope you are able to continue on with your good deeds.

Small house( Coles) Coles birthday, late at night.

Cole has just finished reading Phoebe's letter, and was thrilled that she remembered his birthday. He may love her so much, but Cole was finally happy that he was able to let Phoebe live her own life. Afterall, he did have his own now.

Child's voice (around 2 yrs.): daDa
Cole: SHHHHHHH...Kate go back to sleep.

Cole gently put the child back into her crib, and watched her as she fell asleep.

Thankyou for the reviews, and I love too read your imput. Thiis takes place after used Karma, so about 1 and a half years after Cole was finaly vanquished. Since I am in the middle of writing a couple fics right now, I have requested that I have three reviews before I update. But since I already have my first 3 I decided to write some more now.

Manor Living room

Paige: Phoebe! I have another letter from Cole.
Phoebe: Comin! Where is it?
Paige: On the counter. Do you really read what Cole has to write?!
Phoebe: Yes I do, besides, I'm really starting to appreciate him for giving my space. Ever since he wrote me that first letter, he has been nothing but nice.
Paige: Don't tell me you actually like him!
Phoebe: No, it's not that,..... it's just that he has tried to be friendly without interfering with my life. And it's kind of fun to hear what he has to say. That dosen't mean I forgive him for all that he did for our family.
Paige: Good, because he ruined a whole year of our lives.

Paige just for fun orbed the letter out of Phoebe's hand, and opened it up. She started to read.

Phoebe: Paige give me that back. I'm not kidding.

Paige keeps reading, and Phoebe decides it is no use and walks over to Paige's side so she can read it too.

Dear Phoebe,

I just wanted to write you, thanking you for my birthday card. And yes, I had a fabulous time. I hope you were able to fill your day with lots of love too. It means a lot to me that you remembered about it.

How are Piper and Leo? Tell them I said hi. What about Paige? It's funny, but I think I actually miss arguing with her.

Nothing much is new, but I have a lot to tell you about my life....and how it has changed. I won't get into it now, but having this happen has been the most brilliant thing happen in my life....ever.

Paige: You have been writing to Cole?!
Phoebe: Yes, and don't give me that look. He has been nothing but friendly, so I should at least try.
Piper: I think so too.
Phoebe: Piper? Leo?When did you here?
Piper: Abut 5 minutes ago, you guys were so enthralled in the letter, you didn't even notice.
Phoebe: Oh, well at least your on my side.

Phoebe said this while glareing at Paige.

Piper: So I wonder what so different in Cole's life now.
Leo: Well I ....Nevermind.
Piper: Do you know something you are not telling us?
Leo: No...of course not.

2 weeks later, Phoebe and Cole have been writing letters back and fourth. THey even started to sign their letters with your friend, instead of sincerely. THey had actually agredd to call eachother for the first time . It would happen the next day.

At night

Piper's bedroom

Piper: So what do you want to do tonight Mr. Wyatt?
Leo: Well actually I have to go.
Piper: Where, I wanted to spend some quality time togehter and watch a romantic movie.
Leo: With a charge.
Piper: Is it the same charge again? You've been leaving an awful lot for this new witch.
Leo: I know Piper, but it's important.
Piper: Okay, but not before I get a kiss.
Leo: I can do that.

They enthrall in a soft but pleasurable kiss, and then Leo orbs out. We see him in the Manor's kitchen. He quickly grabs a birthday cake from the freezer, and orbs out again.

Cole's house

Cole and Kate are sitting in the dining room, and he is playing bubble machine with her. Kate is giggling nonstop, and a glimmer of love is resting in Cole's eyes.

Cole: I love you Kate, your the best little girl a dad could have.

He kisses her on the nose, and she claps her hands laughing. Leo orbs in with the birthday cake, and a wrapped package in his hands.

Leo: Hey Kate. I brought you a present.

A smile spreads across Kate's face, and she giggles in delight.

Cole: Thankyou for coming to celebrate Kate's 2nd birthday, with us I....
Leo: Don't worry about it Cole, even though we have been through some tough times, your like a brother to me, and I would never miss an opportunity to spend some time with my god-daughter.
Cole: Thanks, that means a lot. Well should we get started?

The guys help Kate open her presents, and celebrate with some of Leo's birthday cake. Cole brings out a camera, and pictures are taken. That evening, everyone goofed around the house, watching cartoons, and exchanging stories.

Kate eventually falls asleep in Cole's lap, with her thumb in her mouth, and her arm wrapped tightly around her brand new teddy bear.

Cole: Leo, I never got a chance to thank you for all you...
Leo: Cole, it's ok....
Cole: Just let me finish. After Phoebe and I broke up, and I was brought back to life, I trusted nobody. I thought my life was over.... Than I ran into this sweet little girl, who had no home. When our eyes met, I Knew I would never be the same again. After I realized that the reason Kate wasn't accepted by the world, was because of her powers, I could relate to her. I felt like this was my true destiny. After you and I found out that you were Kate's assigned whitelighter, you could have taken her from me. But you didn't. You gave me yet another chance. If it weren't for you, I probaly wouldn't have this little girl today. For that, I am truly grateful.
Leo: Cole, when I orbed in to meet my new charge, I never expected to find you. Yet, you were different. You were so different that I knew you deserved another chance. There is no reason to thank me.

After eating the rest of the birthday cake, Cole and Leo started to talk again.]

Leo: So Cole, have you gotten any closer to finding out who Kate's parents were?
Cole: I've tried, but...part of me is scared. I'm afraid that if I discover who they really are, that Kate never love me as a father,...or worse. What if she gets taken away from me.
Leo: She won't she never will.

After an awkard silence, Leo starts to speak again.

Leo: So when are you going to tell Phoebe about Kate?
Cole: I will soon. But I want Phoebe to trust me enough to be happy for me. When are you going to tell the girls that not only do you talk to me, but that we are actually friends?
Leo: Uhhh...
Cole: That's what I thought.

The guys crack up laughing, but then Kate starts to stir.
Cole: I should probaly put her to bed.
Leo: OK, I should go home now too, or Piper will have my hide.

Leo orbs out, and Cole looks at Kate in amazement. How could such a wonderful girl be in his possession. There was one thing for sure, no matter how long Cole lived, he was never going to dissapoint his little girl.

Piper walked silently out of the bathroom, and quickly disposed of the package in her hand. She was smiling so much that she must of looked like a clown. But she didn't care, because even if she was a clown, she was a pregnant clown! Piper thought to herself. "should I tell them yet? Or should I keep it to myself? No....I want it to be special, I have to wait for the perfect time. Uh oh, Leo's coming. Act normal.

Leo greets Piper with a kiss.

Leo: Hey beautiful.
Piper wrapped her arms around his neck.

Piper: Hey honey, do you know how much I love you?
Leo: How much?
Piper: this much.

Piper pulls him in to a deep but passionate kiss.

Leo: Do you know how much I love you?
Piper: How m.....

Piper was interupted by a panicky Phoebe.

Phoebe: Make way love birds, I gotta pee.

As Phoebe exits the room, Piper pulls away from Leo

Piper: She sure knows how to ruin the moment, dosen't she?

Later in the day, about 5:30
Manor/ kitchen

Phoebe: I feel like I'm going to be sick, Cole will call this house in 30 minutes!
Paige: I told you he wasn't worth your time Phoebe. So it's your fault if your feeeling sick. You'll get no sypathy from me.

Piper gives Paige a dirty look, that means "shut up"

Phoebe: Paige, I'm not nervous because I think I made a mistake keeping contact with him. I'm not even nervous for that matter.
Paige: then what would you call it?
Phoebe: I'm anxious. I'm excited. Cole and I are getting along great right now, and I can't wait to hear from him. Today has been one of the longest days in my life. It feels like he'll never call.

But Cole did call, at exactly 6:00 that day. Of course Phoebe and Cole were afraid the conversation would be akward. But it wasn't. It was anything but akward. They talked two and a half hours that night. They talked about numerous things, whats new, and what happened between them. Cole never mentioned a thing about his daughter Kate.

A couple weeks later, everything was perfect. Piper had told everyone about her pregnancy, and nothing could be going better. Phoebe and Cole call eachother every night at 6:00 exactly. They are on great terms, and Valentines day is coming nearer.

Valentines Day
Piper is standing by the stairs with mail in her hand.

Piper: Phoebe! You have another letter from Cole.

Phoebe comes running down the stairs. With a smile on her face.

Phoebe: Ohhh, let me see it.

Phoebe heads back up to her room, shuts her door, and lays on her bed. She unfolds an envelope. Inside it construction paper folded into a card. The outside of it, has glitter and looks like a baby was scribbling on it.

Phoebe: Why would....

As she opens the letter, she looks at it in astonishment. Inside lay a picture of Cole and a small little girl in his hands. They are wearing birthday hats, and smiling broadly.

Phoebe starts too read the letter.

I am so sorry for not updating in so long. Please tell me how you llike this story, I haven't had as many reviews, and want to know if I should continue on with it.

Dear Phoebe,

We've been through lots of obstacles together. Some have been good, while others have been bad. All of the bad obstacles have contained something simalier. That is one of us keeping something from the other person. I want our relationship to last, so I must tell you I haven't been completely honest with you. In fact, I've been keeping the one thing my entire life revovles around hidden from you.
I wasn't sure how you would react if I told you about my life over the phone. In fact, I wasn't even sure you would beleive me. That's why I wanted to tell you in a letter. I have a daughter, ...her name is Kate.
After I was brought back to life, and stripped of my demonic self, I was sent to Europe. At the time, I was still a lawyer. I felt like I had no purpose to live without you in my life. My apartment was trashy, I lost most of my cases, and survived on chinese take out.
One night I had had enough. I was determined to find a life, or die doing so. I took a month in town, and tried to make something of myself. My luck got worse, and I felt like a failure. I eventually decided that I wasn't meant to be alive, and the "powers that be" made a mistake. I began to think I should fix their mistake by slowly killing myself with alchohol each night.
One night, I had passed out drunk in an alley. I started to come to my senses when I heard hollaring. I thouught it was just another couple fighting, but I was wrong. A door opened, and a ratty baby carrage was thrown outside. I didn't think much of it, because weird situations happen in the city all the time. But I decide to check it out anyway.
Inside was the most beautiful baby I had ever laid eyes on, but it didn't appear at though her parent's had thought so. I could tell by the dirt smeared on her face. She was wrapped in an old, and ripped blanket. Embroidered on it was the name Kate.
That night, I took her home, and cleaned her up. I even went to the nearest store, and bought her new clothing and a couple of toys. I tried not to get too attached to the baby girl, because I knew I had to find her true home the next day.
Throughout the week, I tried to find out about Kate. Eventually, I figured out that there was a particular reason that Kate was thrown out. She was a witch. I also figured out about her life before I met her.
When Kate was about 3 months old, she was found abandoned in a local park. With her came a single blanket, with her name. An adoption agency took her in, and a couple near where I lived adopted her. Later they found out about her magic, and refused to keep her, let alone feed her. That was when she was thrown out into the alley.
After I realized that Kate had no home, I adopted her. I even moved out of the city, and into a small house near town. Each day I would grow closer and closer to her. I finally had a purpose for living. After setting my new life strait, I realized that I didn't even like being a lawyer. I wanted to do something different. I opened my own matial arts studio, and began to make plenty of money to provide for my new family.



Ever since than, Kate and I have lived together, and I thank god every day that I had her. Kate was the one who helped me find my true purpose for life. I have been trying to return the favor for years, by figuring out where she came from. I have had no such luck, but I will never give up.
Reading this letter, I bet you are really baffled with the story I just told you, and may even think that Kate shouldn't be my daughter. One thing that is true is I don't deserve her. That dosen't matter, because for the rest of her life I will continue to take care of her.
I know that at least part of you is angry, but please forgive me. I do understand if you don't want to speak with me ever again. But please know, I will always love you.....always.

Phoebe sat on her bed with tears in her eyes. She may have been slightly angry with Cole, but really, her tears were filled with happiness. Cole had finally found a life. He looked so happy, but most of all Kate looked happy. Together Cole and Kate shared a stronger love than anyone could possibly imagine. It was a bond of father and daughter.


Phoebe's tears of joy quickly dissolved when a premonition hit her. In her vision, she saw Cole and his daughter laughing joyfully, when they were dancing. A demon appeared in the room, and Cole drop kicked him. It didn't work. The demon flung a fireball towards Kate, but Cole jumped in front of it. He was instantly dropped to the ground......and dead. Kate tried to hide under the coffee table, but the demon hit her with a fireball too. This one was so powerful, that Kate also died instantly.

Phoebe flashed out of her preminition with a gaso. She had to save them, but was it too late?

Phoebe gasped as she came out of her premonition.

Phoebe: Cole, god I need to help them. He has lost so much, it can not end this way.

Piper walks into Phoebe’s room with a basket full of laundry. A concerned look appears on her face, as she sees Phoebe bursting into tears.

Piper: Honey, what’s wrong? Did Cole say something in his letter to upset you?
Phoebe: No, I had…I had a premonition.
Piper: What was it with?
Phoebe: I don’t want to explain it more than once, and we don’t have much time, so get Paige and Leo and meet me in the living room.
Piper: Ok

Manor living room

Leo: So what is this all about?

Phoebe is trying to pull herself back together, so she can tell everyone what she saw.

Phoebe: In Cole’s letter, he told me he had a daughter.
Paige: Oh, I can see why you’re so upset.

Leo is trying to hide a face that says he knows something.

Phoebe: No Paige, that’s not it. You need to mind your own business every once in a while. I’m really happy that Cole has his daughter Kate, it’s just…well read this first.

Phoebe hands the letter over to the girls, and Leo. They finish reading, and look up in astonishment. That is, all except Leo, but everyone was so surprised, they never noticed.

Piper: Well, it sounds great that Cole is able to be happy. And it sounds like he loves Kate very much.
Paige: So what was your premonition about?
Phoebe: After I read the letter, my premonition came. In it, Cole and Kate were dancing. A demon came in, and shot a fireball at Kate. Cole jumped in front of it to save her. He died instantly. Kate started to cry, and tried to hide under the coffee table. The demon saw her anyway, and killed her too.
Leo: Oh my god!

Phoebe nods her head in agreement.

Phoebe: I know it’s terrible. We don’t have much time either.
Piper: Ok, but how do we find out how to get where Cole and Kate are?
Paige: We could scry for Kate. She is a witch, isn’t she?
Piper: That would work, but it would take way too long.

Leo thinks to himself, and is trying to decide if he should tell him.

Leo: I have a way. I’m Kate’s whitelighter, and…and her god father.

All three girls shout in unison.

What?!
Leo: I’m sorry I didn’t tell you before, but I can’t explain it all right now. We need to get to Cole’s house to save them.
Piper: Ok buddy, but we’re talking about this later.

Everyone orbs out with Leo.

This was all I was going to do today, but I felt bad for not updating for such a long time. That’s why I decided to post the next chapter also.

Cole’s house

The girls and Leo orb in Cole’s kitchen, and are unseen so far. They are waiting for the demon to attack.

All of the sudden he shimmers in, and is about to shoot the fireball at Kate. Cole is about to step in front of it when Phoebe uses her empathy to deflect it.

Cole: Leo, Girls?

Phoebe: We can’t talk now, first we have to kick this demon’s butt.

Before they can move, the demon shoots a fireball at Cole. It blows up before it reaches him.

Piper: Who did that, because it sure wasn’t me!?
Cole: That’s Kate’s power too.

Everyone starts to fight the demon, and are actually making progress. That is until a shield comes from the demon, and knocks the girls and Leo into the wall. It had no effect on Cole or Kate.

Cole grabs Kate, and holds her tight. It’s no use. The demon knocks Cole out, and then shimmers out with the two.

Piper: Oh crap

Underworld

Cole is chained against a wall, and it seems that Kate is trapped in a magical cage. Kate is crying hysterically, while the demon takes pleasure in beating Cole.

Cole: But why did..

Cole gets another punch in the stomach, which causes him to cough up blood.

Cole: But why didn’t you just kill us?!
Demon: Well, that is what I planned to do. After all I can’t risk one of the most powerful witches in the world killing me, now can I?
Cole: But why didn’t you?
Demon: After I figured out the charmed ones were attacking me, I thought it would be an incredible bonus to kill them also.
Cole: But you didn’t.
Demon: Not yet. The charmed ones and their whitelighter will eventually come looking for you and your precious daughter. What better time would there be to kill them.
Cole: I won’t let you do this. Just leave my daughter alone!

The demon lands another low voltage fireball in Cole’s stomach. He winces in Pain.

Cole: Stop it! Leave my family alone!
Demon: Yeah right. Like I would do that.

The demon gives Cole one more blow in the face, which causes his to go unconscious.
The demon walks over to Kate’s cage.

Demon: Don’t cry little girl, it will be over soon enough!

Piper is in the living room searching the book of shadows, while Leo trying to sense Kate. Phoebe and Paige are sitting on the couch.

Phoebe: We better find them fast, because if we don’t Cole and Kate will die.
Paige: If they haven’t already.

Piper exhales a sigh, and slams the BOS shut.

Piper: I can’t find the demon anywhere in here. He must not be to hard to vanquish though.
Phoebe: Leo, are you having any luck?

Leo shakes his head

Leo: Kate and Cole must’ve been taken to the underworld, because I can’t sense Kate.
Phoebe: That’s what I thought. If we go down there, will you be able to find he Leo.
Leo: Normally, no. But Kate has a gift.
Piper: What kind of gift?
Leo: Well…Kate’s not like any normal witch.
Phoebe: Uh huh, what is she?
Leo: She has the power to be the strongest witch in the world.
Piper: Stronger than the charmed ones?!
Leo: If she wants to be, yes. Because Kate possesses such power, and is a witch of good, her magic gives off a scent that can alert us to where she is. But the scent is not strong enough for me to find her unless, I’m in the underworld too.
Phoebe: We’re coming with you.
Leo: No your not, its way to dangerous.
Piper: Leo, danger is our middle name, besides, if there is more than one demon, you won’t be able to fight them off.
Leo: Ok, fine. But we should bring a couple potions just in case.
Paige: They are already done. I stocked up from our last underworld encounter.

Phoebe goes to the kitchen, and returns with some protective potions, along with a common vanquishing potion for lower level demons.

Leo: Are we ready to go?
Phoebe: You bet ya. I am ready to kick some demon a$$

Underworld (the demon’s lair)

Cole starts to wake up, and is trying figure out his surroundings. As soon as he realizes that he and Kate are still captured, he lets out a frustrated scream.

When the demon that kidnapped Cole and Kate entered the room, a sly smile crossed his face.

Demon: Oh, I’m glad you’re awake. You’ll be just in time to see me kill your daughter.
Cole: Don’t lay a finger on her, or I will hunt you, and kill you.
Demon: Oh be patient, the charmed ones will arrive soon. I’ll kill them first.
Cole: Leave my family alone!!

The demon hears a crash in the room near by. He knows it could only be the certain people he expected.

Demon: Speak of the devil.

Demon: Speak of the devil.
Cole: you better not hurt anybody I love or I will….
Demon: Oh shut up! You bore me. Oh by the way, when I come back, your friends will be dead. Then I will take great pleasure in killing your daughter!

The demon shimmers out

Close to demons home

Piper: are you sensing her Leo?
Leo: Yeah, she’s not far from here. It won’t be much longer.
Phoebe: I hope Cole and Kate are alright
Leo: From what I can sense, Kate is hurt a little, but not that bad. Cole on the other hand, I have no idea.

They continue to get closer to where the demon lives, when they hear hollering.

Cole: Girls, Leo! We’re in here.

The girls start to run toward his screams, when the demon shimmers in right in front of them.

Demon: Going somewhere?
Phoebe: Actually, yeah!

She tries to drop kick him, but he just stands there laughing.

Demon: You really think that if I knew the Charmed ones were on my tail, that I would really come without protection? You are dumber than I thought!
Piper: Oh yeah?!

She starts to blow him up. He stumbles a little, but then smiles. She does it again, and again, and then an invisible shield around him flickers a green color. They keep trying to let the shield down, but it is no use. Piper’s power isn’t strong enough. Soon enough, the fights begun. Fire balls were being thrown and kicks were being made. The girls and Leo knew that the demon couldn’t really get hurt, but they could sure as hell stall him.

Paige was able to get out of the fight with out the demon noticing right away. Piper mouthed to her

Piper: Orb to them.

Paige nodded, and did what she what told. By the time the demon noticed, he was still fighting the others, and couldn’t get away.

Demon’s lair


Paige runs in, and looks at Cole and Kate in astonishment. Cole looks like he is hurt the worst, so she runs to him, and is about to recite a spell that she used when one of her sisters was capture in chains as well.

Cole could barely speak, and when he did, you could see the blood in his mouth.

Cole: Paige. Don’t! Go to Kate first. This demon…is strong, and I can’t risk Kate dieing.
Paige: But you’re…<br>Cole: No. Get her out of here! I could never live with myself if I knew she died because I couldn’t protect her.

Paige nods, as a look of understanding forms on her face. She thought Kate was just another one of Cole’s plans to get Phoebe back. She never realized how much Cole loved his daughter…and that he had truly changed. One thing for sure, Paige was going to save his daughter, or die doing so. Cole was a changed man, and she believed it.

Paige recites a spell to let down the shield around Kate. It only flickers. It wasn’t enough.

Cole: Kate, daddy wants you to blow up the shield.

Kate smiles, understanding her daddy, and tries to blow up the shield. At the same time, Paige recites the spell again.

The shield finally blew up, and Paige grabs Kate. She is about to get Cole again

Cole: No get her out of here first. Go!

Paige is about to do so When the demon shimmers in. The others orb in after him.

Cole: Paige, Go!

Paige orbs out with Kate.

Phoebe: Oh my god, Cole!
Cole: Kill...the demon first!

Phoebe nods, and looks at her sisters.

Cole watches in amazement as the demon’s shield protects him. There is no way the girls can beet him without going to the book of shadows first.

Punches are being thrown, along with fireballs. Phoebe gets flown across the room.

Cole: It’s no use! Get out of here as fast as you can!

The girls turn to Cole, not quite understanding what he is saying.

Demon: I thought I told you to shut up!

The demon throws a fireball at Cole, but Phoebe deflects it using her empathy power.

Cole: go now!

The girls, and Leo look at him. Should he be left here with the demon.

Cole: Leave, and take care of Kate!

Leo nods, and grabs the girls as fast as he can.

Phoebe tries to protest, but they orb out anyway. The demon turns to face Cole

Demon: You idiot!
Cole: Just kill me, and leave my family alone
Demon: No can do. I won’t even kill you. There is a fate much worst than that.
Cole: What are you talking about?!
Demon: I studied the source’s methods, so I could kill the charmed ones. I realized one of the most mind boggling things he has done.
Cole: What are you talking about?
Demon: Oh, don’t you remember. You were there, with that whitelighter. I am talking about the time Piper’s mind was corrupted, so she would believe that she was crazy. You my friend, or should I say foe, are going to live in a world where you can watch all your loved ones die. Eventually, your own worst fears will kill you.
Cole; You can’t do that.

In Cole’s mind, he knows he can, but is so scared he doesn’t know what to say.

Demon: Oh yes I can, and indeed I will. You will die one of the worst fates I could possibly imagine.

The demon recites the spell, and Cole dozes off into a deep sleep. One that he may never wake up from.

Demon: Now I must prepare to kill them all.

He leaves into another room and starts to prepare.

Manor

Piper: Let’s go to the book of shadows.

The whole group, including Kate heads up to the attic. The pages of the BOS flap open, and land on a page.

Phoebe: Thanks Grams.
Paige: What does it say?
Piper: It’s to let down a shield. It says that these powerful shields only work with lower level demons. There is only one way to get rid of them. The most powerful witch existing at the time must break it with their own active power.
Paige: But that’s you, isn’t it Piper? You are the oldest.
Phoebe: That wouldn’t make sense, Piper already tried.
Leo: You guys forgot. What about Kate. She has enough power.
Phoebe: We can’t put her in danger. Cole said not to.
Piper: It may be our only choice.

Paige: Okay, well what should we do now?
Leo: The demon is after you, so let’s just wait.
Phoebe: We can’t do that. What if he kills Cole?!

Leo stands there a moment, and says nothing.

Leo: If the demon was going to kill Cole, he would have done it right after we left. If he didn’t, he’s probably waiting to kill us first.
Piper: But why would he do that?
Leo: To make Cole suffer. He wants to make sure Cole sees everyone he cares for die.
Phoebe: You’re right about that.

Paige: Well should we wait?
Piper: Looks like that’s the plan.

Everyone heads down to the living room.

I was going to update my other story first, but I haven’t been getting as many reviews on it. Right now it seems people are more interested in the life of a hero.

Note: It gets a little scary during the middle, but I wanted to show what was going through Cole’s mind.

Living room

Everyone is sitting on a couch, with solemn looks on their faces. Kate has fallen asleep in Phoebe’s lap, and tear streaks have stained her face.

Phoebe: She’s so adorable. I can’t believe how well Cole has done raising her.
Leo: I can. When I first found out about Cole and Kate, I didn’t trust Cole completely. Eventually I learned how much he had changed, and he ….he became the best friend I’ve ever had. He cares so much for this little girl, and he risks his life for her every day.

Leo picks up a frame by the couch. It is the one at Kat’s Birthday.

Leo: This is where I went a little while ago. I took this picture. They were so happy. They have this huge bond that I would love to have with my child someday.
Phoebe: Thanks Leo, that means a lot.
Paige: I…I wanted to say something before the demon attacks.
Phoebe: Yeah?
Paige: I’m really sorry. When I first found out about Cole, I thought we should vanquish his sorry butt. Then when we found out about his daughter I thought…I thought that she would grow up with a terrible life. That he wouldn’t be able to protect her. I was wrong. I was so wrong that it hurts me to say so.
Piper: Why the change of heart?
Paige: When I got to the dungeon, I saw how beat up Cole was. I knew it was a matter of time before he would die. That’s why I went to help him first. He refused to let me do so until I brought Kate home. He was so insistent. I realized from that moment on that he was a changed man…and the father that Kate needed.
Phoebe: Thank y…<br>
At that moment the demon shimmered in.

Demon: Waiting for me?
Leo: You bet!

Meanwhile, in Cole’s mind

Cole is at his home in France. He and Kate are singing ring around the rosy. Phoebe walks in with a cake, and there is a ring on her wedding finger.

Phoebe: Hi honey. What are you and daddy doing?
Kate: singing!
Kate giggles at this and claps her hands.

Phoebe: Sounds like fun.

She sets the cake down, and gives Kate a kiss on the cheek.

Cole: What about me don’t I get a kiss from my wife?
Phoebe: Well…I don’t see why not.

She comes over and gives him a soft but passionate kiss.

A demon shimmers in. He throws a fireball at Kate, but Phoebe deflects it. Cole runs towards him, and knocks him to the ground.

Demon: You won’t kill me that easily. You should know that? Shouldn’t you Cole?

The demon shoots a fireball at Phoebe, but she doesn’t have enough time to deflect it. She is knocked to the ground. Before Cole can punch the demon again, another fireball is shot, and its Kate. The demon shimmers out. Cole runs to Kate.

Cole: Kate, honey, are you alright?

He feels for a pulse, but doesn’t get one. She’s dead.

Cole: Why?! Do not let my family die!!

He now runs over to Phoebe. Tears are running down his face, and he is trying to wake her up. Nothing is happening. She is dead too.

Cole: No!!! Don’t leave me!!! Why? Why?

He is now screaming this, and has fallen down to the floor. He knows that he must pull himself together.

Cole: Leo! Leo!

Nothing happens

Cole: Leo! I need you now!!!

Cole is crying hysterically, and after a while Leo orbs in too. Cole looks up. Leo is stained with tears at well, but he won’t say anything.

Cole grabs on to him, and they orb to the manor.

When they get there, Cole screams the girls names.

Cole: Paige! Piper!

He can still not stop crying. Leo leads him to the next room. Cole looks down. There, the girls lay. Just by the look on Leo’s face, Cole can tell. The girls are dead too.

Leo leans down by his wife, and grabs her hand. He lays his head on her and weeps. Cole can’t do anything but stand there. That’s when a dark lighter orbs in. Before Cole notices, the dark lighter shoots Leo with an arrow from Behind.

Leo falls limb besides his wife’s figure.

Cole: NO!!!!NO!!!!!

Back at the manor (real world)

The girls and Leo are fighting the demon. Kate is awake, but Paige is protecting her. Phoebe finally levitates him in the air, and holds his throat.

Phoebe: What did you do to Cole!

The demon doesn’t talk, so she grabs his neck even firmer.

Phoebe: Tell me!
Demon: You can’t kill me witch. But if it comforts you any, Cole is dying as we speak.

Kate starts to lift her hands, and Paige shouts at Phoebe

Paige: Phoebe, get down!

Phoebe quickly levitates out of the way, and Kate makes a gesture with her hands. The demon screams, and erupts in flames. He blows up.

Piper: Good girls Honey, now let’s go find your daddy.

Leo: Grab my hand, and I will orb everyone back down to the underworld.

Paige takes Phoebe and Kate, while Leo orbs Piper and himself.

Underworld

Everyone orbs in, and see Cole right away. He is still in his chains, and obviously is still hurt. He is asleep.

Phoebe: Cole? Wake up!
Piper: Oh my god, Leo go heal him!

Leo bends down to Cole and starts healing him. Once his wounds are healed, Cole still doesn’t wake up.

Paige: Leo, what’s wrong? He’s not…he’s not dead is he?!
Leo: He has a pulse, but it’s really faint.

Coles mind

Cole falls to the ground crying, but then he notices the darklighter still hasn’t shimmered out. Instead, he shoots his arrow at Cole. It lands in his stomach. Then the darklighter shimmers out.

Underworld

Paige: Oh my god!

Everyone watches in astonishment as a darklighter arrow appears in Cole’s stomach.

Phoebe: What just happened?!
Leo: I’m not sure.

Leo bends down so he can take the arrow out of Cole. Piper stops him.

Piper: Leo don’t. That’s a whitelighter arrow, the poison can still hurt you.

Leo steps back, as Phoebe hands Kate to Piper, and then pulls it out of Cole’s chest. They stand there for a minute, thinking to themselves. Finally Paige starts to talk.

Paige: The poison in the arrow won’t effect him will it? I mean he’s not a whitelighter.
Piper: Paige’s right.
Leo: Yeah, but just the arrow alone can do some damage.
Phoebe: Well that’s why you need to heal him now Leo!
Leo: Oh, sorry.

Leo bends down and tries to heal Cole’s wound. It doesn’t work.

Piper: What the heck is going on?!
Leo: Oh my god!
Phoebe: What Leo, spit it out!
Leo: I know what the demon did to Cole. He must have cast the same spell that was cast on Piper before. The one that made her think that she was crazy!
Phoebe: Well than why were you able to heal him before?!
Leo: Those wounds weren’t caused by this world that he thinks he is in. All of those happened before he fell under the spell.
Paige: Ok. Why don’t we cast the spell that Phoebe and I used to enter Piper’s mind. Than we can convince him whatever he is feeling is not real.
Leo: Ok, that may work.
Piper: Leo, grab Cole, and orb him back to the attic. We will meet you there.
Leo: Ok.

He bends down and orbs out with Cole. The girls soon follow.\

Attic

Paige flips through the BOS. She stops at a page.

Paige: Here it is.

The girls walk over to the book to see the page.

Piper: Ok, we can do this. Leo, can you watch Kate, while Phoebe, Paige, and I are under the spell?
Leo: Sure.

The girls lay on the ground, and recite the spell to enter Cole’s mind. Nothing happens.

Piper: Why isn’t this working?!
Phoebe: I have no clue! Leo, what is going on?!
Leo: You guys must not exist in the world he is in, or you are not alive.
Paige: He still knows who we are though.
Leo: Yeah, but for him, you are not alive.
Piper: Well, what in the hell are we going to do?!
Leo: I’m not sure there is much that can be done.

Phoebe: Well, what are we going to do Leo?! We can't let Kate grow up without a father. I won't let that happen.
Paige: Isn't there some magical way to fix this?!
Leo: No, we just have to hope Cole can overcome his worst fears by himself. Otherwise..
Piper: Leo, there is no otherwise. Cole will get better as soon as we take him to the hospital.
Phoebe: Piper is right, orb us there.
Leo: Ok

Everyone orbs out with Leo.

Hospital

Everyone orbs in where they are not seen. Than Leo hollars.

Leo: Somebody help! My friend is hurt!

Immediately, doctors and nurses run over, and lift Cole onto a rolling table. He is taken into a room.

Phoebe trys to follow, but is stopped.

Doctor: I'm sorry, but please wait with the others while we check this guy out. We'll notify you about his condition as soon as possible
Phoebe: Um..ok.

Phoebe relectantly joins her sisters, and bursts into tears.

Piper:Oh, it's alright honey. We will do anything possible to help Cole.
Phoebe: But what ..if..if it's too late?
Piper: Shhh, than it was meant to be, and we will find a way to move on.

Piper gathers Phoebe in her arms, and she crys even more.

Phoebe: I don't want Cole to die...he can't. I need to talk to him.

Phoebe is interupted when one of the doctors who was working on Cole came up to the bunch.

Doctor: It seems Cole has lost a lot of blood from the wound in his stoomach. He has slipped into a coma. I haven't concluded yet what made him do so. It could be from some kind of shock that was established when he was injured.
Phoebe: Will he...will he wake up?
Doctor:It's hard to tell, it could be minutes, weeks, months, or even years.
Paige: He won't die...will he?!
Doctor: Right now, I think anything is possible.
Phoebe: Oh god.

She bursts into tears again. This time Leo but an arm around her and hugs her tightly.

Doctor: He is all set up now, and can have visitors though.

The doctor leaves the room.

Piper:Phoebe, why don't you go head in to see Cole. We will give you a minute to talk to him.
Phoebe:I don't ...know how.
Paige: You can do it.

Phoebe heads off to Cole's room.

Piper: As for you Paige, why don't you take Kate home. I don't want her to see her dad like this.
Paige: Ok, call me when you need me.

paige moves into a corner where no one is looking, and orbs out with Kate.

Cole's room

Phoebe takes a seat next to Cole, and grabs his hand in both of hers. She's wondering what he must be going through.

Phoebe: Cole, can you hear me? Cole, this is just a spell. Whatever you are seeing right now is just your imagination.

She sits there in silence.

Phoebe: Honey, you need to come back to your daughter, and to...and to me. Kate and I need you so much. She can't grow up without a father, and I...well I need to talk to you...about us.

Phoebe bursts into tears, and grabs his hand tighter, she rests her head on his chest, and listens to his ragged breathing.

She sees the pain in his face, and knows the demon's spell is toying with Cole. She also knows she can't stop his pain, she can't make it go away.

Phoebe falls asleep, laying on Cole, tear stains on her cheek. Leo and Piper stand at the door, watching the pitiful sight, also holding eachother tight.

Manor

Paige is playing dolls with Kate, but Kate isn't all to interested.

Paige: Okay than, um...let's go make some cookies for when your daddy comes home from the hospital.

Phoebe picks up Kate, and walks over to the kitchen. She gets some ingredients, and starts to stir them together. Kate is restless.

Kate: Dada
Paige: I know sweetie, he just has a little boo boo. He'll get better soon.

Paige cotinues to stir as she holds Kate. Kate shakes her head.

Kate: No..daddy, hoot..b..bad.
Paige: Yes daddy is hurt, but he'll be okay.

Kate again shakes her head, and all of the sudden they dissapear in blue orbs.

Cole's hospital room

Everyone is still in there same postisions, when Paige orbs in with Kate. Paige looks really confused.

Paige: But how..I mean I didn't orb on purpose.
Leo: One of Kate's powers is power minipulation. That means she can uses other witches powers to her own advantage.
Paige: But why...
Kate: Dada..DaaDa!

Piper: Paige, she is really upset about something. But what is it.
Paige: I'm..I'm not sure.

Right then, the monitor displaying Cole's pulse dropped to a strait line. Following the strait line was a beeeeeeeeeeeep!

Phoebe sits up suddenly: Oh my god! Get a doctor!

Doctors rush in, and try to bring Cole's pulse up. Leo is restraining Phoebe, as she trys to rush to Coles side. She is crying hysterically.

Phoebe: No! Cole, you can do it! I love you.

The doctors try to shock Cole again, but nothing happens.

Doctor: Cole Turner, death at 6:03.
Nurse: I'm sorry Ms. Halliwell.
Phoebe: No!!!!!!!!!

That's all right now, and I know it is a very sad chapter, but please keep reading any way. Again, I will start to post Destiny's Desire as soon as I finish this story.

Cole’s Room

The room starts to clear out, as the Halliwells sit there in astonishment. Phoebe is still crying hysterically, and even Leo drops some tears.

Phoebe: No. This is not true. This is not acceptable. Cole can not be dead.

Phoebe looks towards the ceiling.

Phoebe: You bring him back before I… Before I….

She bursts out in tears again.

Phoebe: I don’t know what I going to do, but I can’t live without him. His daughter can’t live without him!
Paige: I’m so sorry.

Paige gathers Phoebe in a hug, and the others join. Everyone is crying, and it’s almost as if Kate understands exactly what happened. One of the doctors enters the room.

Doctor: Um…excuse me?

They break out of the hug, and Leo walks towards the doctor.

Leo: Yes?
Doctor: I understand you are at a great loss, but the room needs to be cleared out. You should probably say your goodbyes.
Phoebe: No, we need more time. Cole is not dead.
Doctor: I’m sorry madam…..
Phoebe: I don’t want to hear it. It’s been known that people can come back from the dead, even after like 20 minutes.
Piper: Phoebe……
Phoebe: No Piper, if anyone can pull through like that, Cole can. I’m sure of it.
Doctor: Ms. Halliwell, that has only happened in extremely rare situations. I’m sorry to say it, but this man’s not coming back.

Phoebe starts to cry even harder. She stares at the doctor angrily, and points to the door.

Phoebe: Get out!
Leo turns to the doctor.

Leo: It’s okay, we’ll be out in a couple of minutes.
Doctor:Okay

He leaves the door.

Piper: I’m sorry sweetie, but we have to say our good byes.
Phoebe: I can’t, I don’t know how.
Paige: Would it help if we left the room for a minute?

Phoebe nods her head.

Leo: Okay

They start to exit with Kate, but Phoebe stops them

Phoebe: No, leave Kate with me. She’s the only part of Cole I have left. And she needs to see her father one last time.

Paige: Okay sweetie.

Paige walks over, and hands Kate to Phoebe. Kate has tear streaks down her face, and is sucking on her thumb. The others exit the room.

Cole’s room

Phoebe once again takes the seat next to Cole. Kate is in her hands. Phoebe grabs his cold hand and squeezes it.

Phoebe: Cole, you need to come back. Kate and I love you. You are not supposed to be dead. You deserve another chance….WE deserve another chance. I never realized how much I truly loved you. I need a friend…no a husband and Kate needs her father.

She sits there.

Phoebe looks towards the ceiling again.

Phoebe: See what you did?! You ended the life of a hero. He deserves to be brought back! I don’t care how many fricken frackin rules you break! He deserves his daughter, he deserves his life!

Phoebe breaks down crying along with Kate. She rests her head on Cole’s cold chest. Kate crawls out of her grasp, and rests next to Cole’s side.

Kate: Dada? Dada, come bwack.

Coles mind

Cole is standing in the middle of a completely white room. He is crying. Suddenly, he hers an echo through the wind.

Echo: Dada, Dada!
Cole: Kate?! Kate where are you?!
Echo: I love you Cole! I love you!
Cole: Phoebe?! But you and Kate..are dead?

Cole’s hospital room

Phoebe and Kate are still talking to Cole.

Phoebe: Cole, come back! Kate and I need you!

Suddenly, a very faint pulse starts up from Cole’s monitor.

Phoebe: Cole, Oh my god! Cole, wake up!
Kate: Dada! Dada! Love you!

Cole’s mind

Cole: Phoebe, Kate?!
Echo: Cole, if you can hear me, It’s Phoebe. Please, wake up!

Cole begins to see a glow in the middle of the room. He starts to walk towards it. He gets closer, and closer, until he finally enters that glorious light that brings him his life back.

Cole’s hospital room

Cole pulse rate starts up even faster. Doctors and the Halliwell’s enter the room.

Leo: Oh my God! He’s coming back!
Phoebe: Come on Cole, wake up!
Kate: Dada!

Cole starts to cough, and his heavy eyelids start to flutter open.

A smile spreads across Phoebe’s face

Phoebe: Cole!
Kate: Dada!

Kate envelopes her daddy in a big hug, which makes him cough slightly more.

The doctor stands in amazement

Doctor: It’s like magic!

Cole responds in a croaky voice.

Cole: No…It’s love.

The end!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
