A Time for Everything
Piper laid her baby in her crib and leaned on it for a moment “Sleep now Patty. You need your rest.” She said to the dozing infant.
“So do you.” A voice said behind her. Piper turned around to see her husband and smiles.
“I know, but Paige is being relentless on getting her wedding planned!” Piper said holding up her hands in defense. Leo takes them in his and pulls her closer affectionately. He brings his face closer to her and kisses her gently. “Can a Halliwell woman NOT stress about her wedding?” Leo asks holding his wife close to him.
Piper smiles again loving the smell of her husbands aftershave, remembering her own wedding. “I highly doubt it.” She stated letting her mind run over all the weddings that had taken place in her family. Her late sister Prue’s so called wedding, her own disastrous attempts at getting married, Phoebe’s two weddings, both ending in divorce, and now Paige was attempting to perform the ritual in the manor in a matter of weeks.
“Figures.” Leo says jokingly releasing his hold on Piper. “But does she have to follow suit in wanting it to be perfect?”
“I think if she didn’t want it to be perfect, I’d be worried.” Piper says
“Good point, but with Paige, she’ll do something in order to get what she wants, instead of just hoping for it like us.” Leo says concerned
Piper sighs slowly “That thought hadn’t crossed my mind.” She clasps her hands together. “Ryan has no regards for the rules as well…..We’d better keep a close eye on them.”
“They’re in the attic looking through the things we had at our wedding.” He says
Piper nods. “alright, I’ll go up in a minute and check on them.” She says turning around to look at her 7 month old daughter Patience.
Leo walks behind her and puts his arms around her. “I still don’t see why you insisted on giving her the middle name Lillian.”
“Well I figured if you loved her enough to marry her in one life, I should think our daughter deserves to have that love in her name. Are we going to argue about this the rest of her life?” Piper states
“No love I’m just curious.” Leo says holding her tighter watching his daughter sleep
“Well be curious no longer Mr. Wyatt, you have your reason” Piper says softly laying her head on his shoulder leaning into him smiling.
“Yes m’am, besides who am I to argue with one of the most beautiful let alone powerful witches in all the land?” He says teasingly.
“That’s right, you just remember that next time we go to the grocery store and you want that disgusting kind of bread!” She says pulling away from him.
“Oh I resent that!” Leo says in mock anger.
Patience begins to stir and she starts to cry.
Piper can’t resist laughing at him and picks up the baby rocking her and decides she wasn’t going to go back to sleep. “come on lets go check on the love birds.” She says walking out of the room heading upstairs with Leo close behind her
Phoebe hands the cashier her credit card. “ I knew I was going to regret this outing!” she says as the three boys snicker.
“auntie Paige, thank you for the new dress.” Little Prue says tugging on Phoebe’s hand.
“Oh you’re welcome sweetheart.” Phoebe says smiling down at the little Piper clone.
Prue smiles happily and takes the bag with the dress in it after they paid for it.
“Ok lets go before I’m broke and I’ll have to beg demons for money” Phoebe says jokingly ignoring the cashiers weird glance her way. “Little family joke.” She adds on her way out just to be safe.
They all climb in the car and Wyatt Chris and Andy all show off their new video games Phoebe bought while Prue climbs into the front seat clutching the little bag to her as if she’d lose it. Phoebe smiles and pulls out carefully heading to the manor.
“C’mon trust me, all I have to do is word it right!” Paige says walking to the Book of Shadows in the attic.
“Paige, its not that I don’t like the idea, but you know I’d rather your family not vanquish me after all we’ve been through.” A handsome man with dark brown hair and electric blue eyes says standing up trying to make her see reason.
“Ryan look, I've seen the kind of weddings that go on in this family, I don’t want ours to be like that. Besides, They’ve seen your demonic side and have dealt with it, they vanquish you….they’ll not be having a happy life my love.” Paige says flipping through the pages tenderly little memories of her life as a witch coming to her with every page here and there.
Ryan sighs. He could never argue with her. From the moment they had met he had been mesmerized in the way she moved and her perception of the world around her among many other things. “I hope you know what you’re doing” he says giving in.
“I do” Paige says, and then smiles at the irony of her words and glances at Ryan and sees the same recognition of it in his eyes. She looked into his eyes and couldn’t tear herself away from them. There was something inside of him that was addicting. She couldn’t quite put her finger on it to explain the feeling she got every time she looked at him. All she could say was that he made her feel free and complete. Something she had longed for most of her life. She finally brought her attention back to the book of shadows and after a good search found nothing, although she didn’t think she would no matter how much she had hoped to but it had been worth checking. “ok I’m going to have to write one.”
Ryan can only nod as she sits down with a pen and paper. Ryan watched her as she wrote vigorously for a few minutes, crossed a few things out, chewed on the end of the pen, and then wrote some more. He smiled at the thought that they’d be married soon.
