In Dreams Sequel to:
Power Problem ****** In Dreams
chapter one
"Don't you just love this weather?" Paige asked then tooka sip of her lemonade. The three sisters were all gathered outside in the back yard. The weather had been great the past couple of days, with a cloudless sky, the warms sun beating down gently and a cool breeze.
"It's perfect," Phoebe agreed typing on her laptop.
"How are you enjoying the weather when you're working?" Piper asked as she poured some more water onto Wyatt. She had bought him an inflatable blue and yellow pool which he seemed to love.
"I am," Phoebe replied defensively not looking up from her computer. "It's a little thing called multi tasking. YOu should try it."
"No thanks, i prefer to enjoy the weather with out having to work."
Chris came into the back yard.
Paige groaned.
"Good you're all here," he began. "There's a demon that-"
"No more demon hunts," Paige said cutting him off. "You've sent us on nothing but demon hunts for the past three weeks."
"Well we need to get an upper hand on the council," he explained tiredly. How many times was he going to have to repeat himself? "You saw what the council did to Phoebe. We need to take action now or-"
"The council will strike again, yada yada yada," Paige said.
"Yeah Chris, besides we want to enjoy this weather while it lasts," Piper added. "In San Francisco this is a gift. NO fog for once."
"You should do the same," PHoebe said still typing.
"Coming from the woman who's a work a holic," chris mumbled.
"Hey, at least i'm not going after demons. I'm actually doing something and i will enjoy the weather and have fun when i finish this column." PHoebe sighed, "Why don't you go someplace and have fun?"
"Yeah, you might find that you like this thing which we people here call fun," Paige teased.
CHris gave her a look.
"Alright, I'm leaving now," Zoey said coming into the back yard.
"Where are you going?" PIper asked.
"Lake Tahoe. remember i told you about this last week?" Zoey replied. "The house arrest is over and I'm out of here." she walked over to Wyatt and tickled his feet. "I'll be there until Sunday along with BRyan, Adam, Tina and Jake."
"Jake?" Paige said curiously.
Zoey smiled and nodded.
"So then i take it you two made up?" Piper said.
"Yeah, he had a single yellow rose delivered to my homeroom. then at lunch he serenaded me with an "I'm sorry i was being a jerk song." "
"What song did he sing?" PHoebe asked.
"I'm sorry i was being a jerk' he wrote it and sang it to me. acoustic guitar and everything. we talked, kissed and made up."
"Whoa, rewind," Piper said. "YOu two kissed?"
"Yeah, it's not like that though between us. it's just friends kissing friends."
"Ah, I remember when Glenn and i did that," Paige said nostalgically.
"Any ways, CHris i think you should come with us," Zoey said. "It will be fun; chillin at the beach all weekend and you don't have to worry about a hotel because we'll be staying at Bryan's family cabin."
"I don't think so," CHris replied. "There's alot of things that need to be accomplished. like finding the council."
"Enough already!" Zoey exclaimed. ""Sheesh! You're what--23? It's time you start acting like a young person. You need to party or just go out and have some fun. Carpe Diem--seize the day. NOw you're coming to Tahoe with us. We'll stop by your place and pack a few things then we'll be off."
"Zoey i appreciate the offer but-"
"But nothing, what do i have to do to get you to go somewhere? cuff my self to you? NOw come on and if you don't have swimming trunks we'll stop by target or something." she grabbed his hand, "Call me on the cell phone if you need us." with that she dragged him out of the house.
"Finally he is gone!" Paige cried out.
"Paige!" Piper said with a laugh.
"What? I mean thank god for Zoey being so controlling because seriously, that dude needs some fun in his life."
"Dude?" PHoebe teased.
Paige stuck out her tongue at Phoebe.

Chapter two
¡§Hey Zoey, nice rack,¡¨ Bryan said as she took off her white tank top revealing and blue bikini top with white polka dots.
¡§I know huh?¡¨ she said and began to apply more suntan lotion. Bryan smiled and continued to play volley ball with the others.
¡§You know he¡¦s only saying that because you¡¦re a tease,¡¨ a girl with long beautiful sun kissed blonde hair said.
¡§Tina, I am so not a tease,¡¨ Zoey replied defensively.
Tina laughed, ¡§Oh come on Zoey, you know he¡¦s crazy for you and you two are always flirting and nothing more. Typical Zoey fashion.¡¨
¡§That¡¦s not true; I don¡¦t flirt that much and I¡¦m not a tease.¡¨ She turned to Chris, ¡§I¡¦m not.¡¨
¡§Are you sure about that?¡¨ Chris asked with a sly smile. Zoey¡¦s jaw dropped.
¡§See, even your friend thinks it so. Now, what does she do most that makes her a tease Chris?¡¨
¡§Well¡K.you do flirt a lot.¡¨
¡§I do not.¡¨
¡§What about the time we were going to the movies and you were talking to the guy in the box office?¡¨ He turned to Tina, ¡§We got in for free.¡¨
Tina laughed, ¡§Geeze Zoey!¡¨
¡§Ok but that was unexpected. Reggie kind of has this crush on me,¡¨ she reasoned.
¡§Reggie Carmichael?!! Oh my goodness, he still has a thing for you even though he¡¦s with Britney.¡¨ Tina laughed out in delight, ¡§This is too good.¡¨
Chris glanced at Zoey, ¡§You¡¦re after this Britney person¡¦s boyfriend?¡¨
¡§No, but if she was it¡¦d be like old times, wouldn¡¦t it be?¡¨ Tina said with a vicious nostalgic smile. ¡§You see Chris, Britney is a @#%$ who¡¦s in need of getting her ass kicked. Well anyways, in ninth grade Zoey and Reggie were really good friends then they became friends with benefits even though Reggie was dating Britney.¡¨
Chris looked at Zoey questioningly.
¡§I didn¡¦t mean to but I don¡¦t do that at all. That was a one time thing. And thanks for making me out to be a scarlet woman Tina.¡¨
¡§Ok anyways back to you and Bryan,¡¨ Tina said quickly. ¡§I don¡¦t see why you just don¡¦t go out with him and relieve some of that sexual tension between the two of you.¡¨
¡§Oh my god Tina, is that all you ever think about?¡¨
¡§What can I say? I¡¦m a bit of a nympho,¡¨ she said smiling seductively at Chris. Chris smiled and looked away from her. ¡§No seriously though, why don¡¦t you go out with him?¡¨
¡§Because,¡¨ Zoey said. ¡§We all know that he¡¦s a dog. He¡¦s always touchy feely with anything that has breasts.¡¨
¡§So very true, you are wise young grass hopper.¡¨ Tina turned to Chris. ¡§So what¡¦s the deal with you? I¡¦m sure a hottie like you has a girlfriend?¡¨
¡§Can you say subtle?¡¨ Zoey said with a slight laugh.
Chris shook his head, ¡§Not at the moment.¡¨
¡§OH really?¡¨ Tina said scooting closer to him. ¡§So, what kind of things do you look for in a girl?¡¨
¡§Everything that is not you,¡¨ Jake said as he sat down next to Zoey and put his arm around her.
Tina glared at him, ¡§How would you know?¡¨
¡§Because Chris doesn¡¦t seem to be the type into village bicycles,¡¨ Jake replied in a beat.
He and Zoey began laughing and Chris tried to stifle a laugh. ¡§Oh bite me Jake,¡¨ Tina retorted.
¡§You¡¦d like that wouldn¡¦t you?¡¨ he teased.
¡§And you, you think this is funny?¡¨ Tina demanded and threw a fistful of sand at Zoey.
¡§Oh sweetie come on, I couldn¡¦t help it.¡¨
Tina flipped off Zoey and turned to Chris. ¡§You still haven¡¦t answered my question.¡¨
Chris smiled, ¡§A sense of humor, fun, outgoing¡K¡¨
¡§Someone who can tolerate your stubbornness,¡¨ Zoey chimed in with a sly look.
Chris gave her a look then continued, ¡§Some one who isn¡¦t all about her looks, has substance, smart, and someone that isn¡¦t afraid to be themselves. Why?¡¨
¡§Tina likes to play match maker,¡¨ Jake answered then he and Zoey began singing to Tina. ¡§Match maker match maker make him a match, find him a find, catch him a catch.¡¨
Chris laughed at this.
Tina rolled her eyes at her friends and thought for a moment. ¡§Ok: Diana Morrows.¡¨
¡§Oh please! That poser?¡¨ Zoey scoffed.
¡§Ok fine that would cancel out his whole ¡¥not afraid to be themselves thing.¡¦ How about Andrea Kramer?¡¨
¡§That skank?¡¨ Zoey said.
¡§Zoey!¡¨ Jake said in a sarcastic tone.
¡§I¡¦m only speaking the truth,¡¨ she said. ¡§Besides as a friend of Chris¡¦ he deserves the best and someone who wouldn¡¦t give him an STD.¡¨
Tina and Jake laughed.
¡§Speaking about the truth,¡¨ Jake said, ¡§I think this day can use a bit of an up.¡¨ He reached into his black back pack and pulled out a silver flask.
¡§Oooh the fun flask,¡¨ Tina and Zoey said in unison.
¡§Courtesy of my father¡¦s pub.¡¨ He raised the flask, ¡§To friendship.¡¨ He took a sip and handed the flask to Zoey.
¡§To better relationships for us all,¡¨ she said and took a sip. She handed it to Chris. ¡§Do you want any? No pressure.¡¨
Chris took the flask from her hand; ¡§To a great weekend.¡¨ he took a sip.

¡§Well, Wyatt¡¦s asleep in the nursery and the lemonade should be cold enough by now,¡¨ Piper said as she placed the baby monitor on the coffee table in the living room and began to clean.
¡§Piper, what are you doing?¡¨ Phoebe asked innocently.
¡§I¡¦m cleaning,¡¨ Piper replied.
¡§Yeah, I can see that but why?¡¨
¡§You should be kicking back and relaxing,¡¨ Paige added. ¡§After all how many times do we have a weekend with out that overly ambitious and could care less about anything else but his work white lighter?¡¨
¡§Paige, don¡¦t you think you¡¦re being a bit harsh?¡¨ Piper asked.
Phoebe shook her head, ¡§I¡¦m sorry to say it but Paige is right. I mean ever since he came back to protect Wyatt, my twitch in my eye has gotten worse. I mean, was he always like this? If so I feel so sorry for everyone that knows him.¡¨
Piper smiled, ¡§Yeah but you have to admire all the trouble he¡¦s going through to protect Wyatt.¡¨
¡§Yes I know but still. He¡¦s still a kid but acts like its work or death,¡¨ Phoebe reasoned. ¡§Plus we got rid of Zoey also for the weekend so no drama.¡¨
¡§Anyways, we get a chance to do normal things for once,¡¨ Paige said. ¡§I vote we dedicate today to pampering ourselves, we deserve it after all.¡¨
¡§I agree,¡¨ Phoebe said. ¡§After all, we deserve to look our best even if we do kick demon ass.¡¨
¡§Here, here,¡¨ Piper said with a laugh.
¡§Good,¡¨ Paige said. ¡§I think we should start with manicures and pedicures.¡¨
¡§I¡¦ll get the nail polish,¡¨ Phoebe offered getting up off the chair.
******
¡§So, cold!¡¨ Tina said as the group entered the large cabin. The living room was spacious and had a huge fire place. A large painting of Lake Tahoe hung above the fire place; the room was furnished with two large couches and two sofa chairs each of a dark wine color.
¡§I forgot how far that walk from the lake was,¡¨ a girl with red hair and freckles said.
¡§April the lake isn¡¦t that far,¡¨ Adam said while smoothing out his dark brown hair.
¡§Yeah well being soaking wet and cold made it seem like it was,¡¨ she replied huddling up with Tina.
¡§It is really cold,¡¨ Zoey agreed.
¡§Well I can warm you up in our room,¡¨ Bryan said as he wrapped hi arms around Zoey and began kissing her neck and shoulders.
Zoey smiled but then she took his arms off of her, ¡§No, what you will be doing is being a perfect gentleman or April is going to kick your ass. We¡¦re swapping rooms.¡¨ With that Tina, April and Zoey disappeared down the hall.
¡§Burn!¡¨ Jake said laughing.
Bryan glared at him, ¡§Shut up.¡¨
****** Zoey turned off the blow dryer and put her hair into a loose braid. ¡§You don¡¦t mind sharing a bed, do you?¡¨ she asked as turned around.
¡§No,¡¨ Chris replied as he turned down the sheets. ¡§I¡¦m curious though, why did you and April trade places?¡¨
¡§She didn¡¦t feel like sharing a bed with someone she barely knows, plus she has a thing for Bryan and Tina thought she should room with him. Why? Do you not want me to room with you?¡¨
¡§No, I didn¡¦t mean it like that.¡¨
¡§Are you sure because I don¡¦t mind if you don¡¦t.¡¨
¡§No, it¡¦s fine; really.¡¨
Zoey smiled, ¡§So, did you have fun today?¡¨ she teased. She motioned him to turn his back to her and she changed into her pajama top which was just a black tank top.
¡§Yes,¡¨ Chris replied with a smile, ¡§It wasn¡¦t bad. I liked jet skiing.¡¨
¡§See, it¡¦s good to get away for a while, isn¡¦t it? Ok you can look now.¡¨ She folded up her t-shirt and placed it in the drawer. ¡§You know, it wouldn¡¦t kill you if you hung out with us more often you know. Have fun.¡¨
Chris smiled, ¡§I¡¦ll think about it.¡¨
¡§Typical.¡¨
¡§What¡¦s that supposed to mean?¡¨
¡§Nothing,¡¨ Zoey replied.
Chris hit her with a pillow.
¡§Oh no you didn¡¦t,¡¨ she said with a slight laugh and picked up a pillow of her own.
¡§What are you going to do about it?¡¨ he tested.
Zoey smacked him with a pillow then leaped off the bed. Chris chased her and the two ended up in a big pillow fight. Zoey stood on the bed, ¡§Don¡¦t, I didn¡¦t mean it!¡¨ Chris tackled her down and got her with the pillow again. Zoey tried to wriggle her way out of his grasp but he wouldn¡¦t let go.
She laughed, ¡§I didn¡¦t mean it.¡¨
Chris laughed and tickled her stomach. Zoey couldn¡¦t stop laughing; she was very ticklish on her stomach. ¡§What did you mean?¡¨
¡§Nothing just to not think about things so seriously all the time,¡¨ she stuttered between fits of laughter.
¡§Um, am I interrupting something here?¡¨ Tina asked as she entered the room in a satin and laced pink nightie.
Chris got off of Zoey and she sat up. ¡§Damn it, my cheeks hurt from laughing so much.¡¨ She walked up to Tina, ¡§What¡¦s up?¡¨
¡§Um, I was wondering if I could borrow some lotion.¡¨
¡§Sure,¡¨ Zoey replied as she and Tina walked over to the dresser. ¡§I¡¦ve got cucumber melon and apple; you choose.¡¨
¡§Whatever one you have on right now that seems to be working,¡¨ Tina replied with a sly grin. ¡§Which one do you think Jake would prefer?¡¨
¡§Excuse me, since when are you into Jake?¡¨
¡§Well, I¡¦ve seen the way he treats you and he¡¦s incredibly hot¡Koh come on Zoey, you can¡¦t hog him all to yourself.¡¨
Zoey sighed, ¡§If you play games with him I¡¦ll kick your ass and you know I can do it. Take the apple.¡¨
¡§Hey that was in third grade,¡¨ Tina reminded. ¡§Thank you. Good night Chris, don¡¦t keep her up too long.¡¨ Zoey smacked Tina in the arm and gave her a look. Tina gave her a go for it look and Zoey shoved her out of the door.
¡§Goodnight Tina,¡¨ Chris said with a smile.
Zoey climbed back into bed, ¡§What?¡¨ she asked noticing Chris looking at her.
¡§Nothing, it¡¦s just, you seemed a bit jealous right now,¡¨ he replied quietly.
¡§I¡¦m not, it¡¦s just- I don¡¦t want him to get hurt she has a history of doing the whole use them and lose them thing.¡¨
Chris smiled. ¡§The same goes for you to Christopher. Be careful around Tina especially if you end up dating her.¡¨
Chris nodded then after a while he asked, ¡§So what happened between you and Jake? I mean, why didn¡¦t you two talk for a long time?¡¨
Zoey sighed, ¡§He was going through a hard time. His Nana died- she was like a second mother to him. He loved her so very much. She and he had a real close relationship. He could talk to her about anything and not worry about her talking down to him. He spent the whole summer with her in Vancouver.¡¨
Chris nodded, ¡§She passed away suddenly?¡¨
Zoey shook her head, ¡§No, she had leukemia. She was so stubborn though that wouldn¡¦t do chemo like her family and doctor had been telling her to do. Instead she was trying alternative medicines- herbs and home remedies. She was really against medicine.¡¨ Zoey smiled nostalgically. ¡§I remember one time she came to visit me when I was really sick with pneumonia. She was disgusted at the fact that I was in a hospital, she said that the only way that one can truly feel better is if they do things naturally. Anyways, she was in so much pain but for a long time she was really good. She looked healthy and had a warm glow about her. Then four weeks ago she passed away.¡¨ She wiped away silent tears that had streamed down her face.
¡§I¡¦m sorry to hear that. Poor Jake.¡¨
She nodded, ¡§He didn¡¦t mean what happened. He didn¡¦t know how to handle it. Like I said, she was a second mother to him. I guess her death was too much and it doesn¡¦t help when his family fights a lot either.¡¨
¡§But he shouldn¡¦t have taken it out on you,¡¨ Chris reasoned.
¡§It doesn¡¦t matter to me what he did,¡¨ she said quietly. ¡§He was hurting but I forgive him. You always forgive the people you love.¡¨ She smiled faintly and turned out the lights. She closed her eyes, ¡§Good night.¡¨
¡§Sweet dreams,¡¨ he said as he watched her drift off to sleep. ***** A hooded figure waved his hand over the pool of water he stood before. Chris and Zoey rippled and three other circles formed. In each circle was each Charmed sister laying peacefully asleep.
The hooded man began to chant some magic words. As he chanted, he sprinkled a black powder over the three circles causing them to glow red.

Chapter four
“There you are!” Piper said as she ran down the stairs towards Phoebe. “Where the hell have you been? I’ve been trying to get a hold of you for weeks!”
“Piper, what are you talking about?” Phoebe asked confused. “I was just with you yesterday.”
Piper laughed and picked up Wyatt out of his play pen which was full of toys. “No, you were in New York doing Live with Regis and Kelly, and before that you were in Boston.”
Phoebe shook her head, “Piper I wasn’t-”
The phone rang. “I have to get that. Don’t be a stranger, this is your house too, remember?” Piper walked away.
“Ok someone needs more sleep,” Phoebe mumbled under her breath. She sighed. A soft whimpering sound came from the right of her. Phoebe turned and began to make her way towards the wall of the stairs, except there was a dark wooden door in place of the painting used to hang along with where a small bench used to be.
“Since when is there-”
“Help me,” a scared voice called from behind the door.
Phoebe placed her hand on the brass door knob and opened the door. When she did, a hand grabbed her and yanked her in. Phoebe screamed.
“Good, get rid of the nerves. You’ll be going on the air in a minute,” a girl wearing a head set with and attached microphone said as she pushed her black glasses up to the bridge of her nose.
“What, what are you are you talking about?” Phoebe asked glancing around. She was now in some sort of back stage area. People rushed about and bumped into her as she passed. A man with blonde hair came up to her and began to powder her nose while another man attached a microphone to her collar.
“Ok, a joker,” the girl with the headset said. “Why can’t any celebrity be serious? Alright people, let’s get ready!” the girl shouted. “Ms. Halliwell, break a leg,” the girl said and shoved Phoebe out of a door.
Bright lights shone in Phoebe’s eyes and a roar mixed of clapping and booing came the large studio audience that was gathered there.
“Welcome Phoebe Halliwell!” a blonde lady greeted.
Phoebe smiled nervously, “Um, hi”?” she said shaking hands with the blonde.
“Wow, you seem kind of tense and worn out,” the lady continued. “But any woman going through what you are would be.”
“What I’m going through?”
“Oh don’t be so modest!” the lady exclaimed. “Your lawsuit and divorce.”
“L-Lawsuit?”
“Which brings me to my first question: How does it feel to know that you are the cause of one man’s suicide and the death of a woman’s husband and soon her own death seeing as the trial isn’t going in favor for her?”
“What? I didn’t-”
“Liar!” an audience member cried out as he jumped out of his seat.
“No wonder your husband can’t stand you! You’re sick!” a woman yelled angrily. Members of the audience began to make their way toward the stage.
Phoebe leaped out of her seat and ran backstage. The audience chased her down and Phoebe entered the closest room she could find unlocked.
“Phoebe, what are you doing here?” Jason said. “I thought we agreed you wouldn’t come here anymore.”
“Jason, I don’t know what’s-” Phoebe stopped as she noticed Jason looking afraid. She wiped away some tears, “What’s going on?” she asked stepping closer to him.
Jason stumbled back, “S-Stay away from me,” Jason said with a tone of fear in his voice.
“Jason, why are you afraid of me?”
Jason shook his head, “You’re sick if you can just act as if nothing happened. Because of your being a witch, a man has committed suicide and you encouraged a woman to kill her husband all because you felt all her pain and anger.”
Phoebe shook her head, “No, No I didn’t …I wouldn’t.”
“Well you did and you have to get out of here or I’ll call the police.”
Phoebe glanced at Jason. His face was hard and cold. She left the apartment and found herself walking on the street. It was late at night and she seemed to be the only one out walking. Suddenly she heard footsteps close behind her. She looked back then bumped into someone.
She gasped, “Cole.”
“Don’t be scared Phoebe,” Cole said looking down at her with his piercing blue eyes.
“How?”
“It doesn’t matter, what matters is who you are now.”
“Who I am?” Phoebe said confused.
“Evil,” Cole replied simply.
Phoebe stepped away from him. “No, I’m not evil.”
“Are you sure about that? The rumor is, you helped kill-”
“Cole, I didn’t do it,” Phoebe said. “Look, there’s something going on here; something’s not right.” She turned and looked behind her. “This isn’t real.”
“Isn’t it real? After all, dreams are a reality of their own.”
“That’s it!” Phoebe exclaimed. “I’m in a dream; all I have to do is wake up.”
“But you won’t be waking up,” Cole said although Phoebe didn’t hear him.
“Help me,” a voice called from behind some large crates.
Phoebe turned towards where the voice came from. She was hypnotized by the voice, it was the same one she had heard coming from the wall in the stairs. “Hello?” Phoebe called out.
“Help me,” the scared voice repeated.
Phoebe walked towards the crates.
“I wouldn’t do that if I were you,” Cole said with a grim expression on his face.
Phoebe peeked around the crates and found a little girl no more than six in a pink night gown, seated on the ground with her knees to her chest.
“Hey sweetie,” Phoebe said kneeling beside her. “Where are your parents?” The little girl hugged Phoebe. “We’ll find your parents, don’t be scared.”
The little girl laughed horribly and sank her teeth into Phoebe’s neck. Phoebe cried out in pain and tried to push the girl off of her but the little girl was too strong. Phoebe soon became pale as all the blood drained from her. Then her body went limp.

Chapter five
“Where am I?” Zoey said to herself as she looked around the dressing room she was in. Zoey made her way to the clothes rack and began looking through the clothes. She landed her sight on a beautiful black cocktail dress and was about to reach for it when someone grabbed her from behind and pulled her out of the room.
She was now on stage and the spotlight was on her.
“Ladies and gentleman, Ms. Zoey Aguilar!” an announcer introduced. Loud clapping and cheering came from somewhere out in the darkness. She couldn’t see past the round circle of light. “Now we present to you, the burning of a witch in one act.”
Suddenly men came up and began to grab at her and drag her towards a wooden stake driven into the ground. Zoey screamed loudly as she was tied down and as the hay around her feet were set aflame.
“Help me,” a voice called out.
When Zoey opened her eyes the flames and men were gone and she was left standing in the spotlight. Zoey looked around and heard footsteps coming from the dark.
“Who’s there?” she demanded. Zoey whipped around with a kick and someone grabbed her ankle.
“Zoey?” Chris said as he stepped into the light, turning Zoey in the process. He let go of her ankle. He was dressed in a soldier's finest uniform with his blazer decorated in different badges and patches. He looked like a soldier from World War II.
“Chris?” Zoey said with a smile. “What’s with the uniform? Not that it makes you look…you look good.”
Chris smiled, “I can say the same for you and the flapper look you’ve got going on,” he said of the black flapper dress she wore with a long pair of white pearls looped around her neck and her hair crimped and held back with bobby pins. She looked like she came out of the movie Chicago.
“So where are we?” she asked.
Chris looked around, “I have no idea; hey did you hear someone calling out for help earlier?”
Zoey nodded, “Yeah, it sounded like it was coming from over there.” She pointed out in front of her.
She and Chris stepped out of the light and entered a thick blanket of darkness. Zoey felt around in the dark and grabbed Chris’ arm.
“Zoey are you alright?” he asked.
“Yeah, I-I though you had left,” she said and lowered her hand down his arm so that it fell into his. Chris smiled and squeezed her hand gently.
As they continued to walk they soon realized that they were in a dark alley that was dimly lit in one area. Chris bent over in pain.
“What’s the matter?” Zoey asked.
“It’s one of the sisters, something terrible has happened,” Chris replied holding his side.
Zoey glanced around and felt light headed. “Te air is different over this way,” she said and walked away from him.
“How so?”
“There’s something…something- death.” Zoey said suddenly. Phoebe lay sprawled out on the cold ground, part of her in a puddle of her own blood which the moonlight shined down on. Chris ran over to her and placed his hands over her. “Damn it!” he said.
Zoey put her hands to her mouth, tears forming in her eyes.
“A shame, I know,” Cole said stepping out of the shadows and into the light.
“You,” Chris said angrily. “You did this to her, you bastard!”
“Hey, one, I didn’t do it; two, who the hell are you and three who’s the flapper?” he asked looking curiously at Zoey.
“Phoebe killed you,” Chris said. “How are you here?”
Cole laughed, “That’s a funny thing about dreams, the dead can live too.” Cole noticed the change of expression on Chris’ face. “I wouldn’t get my hopes up if I were you, Phoebe is dead.”
“But you just said that we’re in a dream,” Zoey pointed out.
Cole smiled, “Well that’s another funny thing about dreams,” he said looking at her. “You die in one, you die in reality. Also, in dreams you make the rules. Anything you want is yours. In example,” he snapped his fingers and Zoey’s dress turned into a lanky red cocktail dress and she wore a red flower in her hair which was now loose and wavy. Zoey looked down at the dress she was now in.
“See?” Cole said. “It will go after the others and then it will come for you both.” He began to walk away but Zoey called out to him.
“Wait!” she yelled running after him. Cole turned and looked at her. “What attacked her?”
Cole smiled, “I can’t tell you that. What I can tell you is that red looks good on you; it makes you look sultry.”
“How about sultry me kicking your ass?” Zoey said coldly.
Cole lit an energy ball and sent it at her. She deflected it with a gust of wind.
Cole laughed and put his hands up. “Now I know who you are.” He snapped his fingers and she was back in her black flapper dress with her hair crimped and pulled back. “He always said you looked sexy in black.”
“What the hell are you talking about?” Chris demanded.
“Alastor of course, you know, Damien Chase?” He disappeared.
Zoey was in shock. That name made her blood run cold and sent chills down her spine.
“Zoey?” Chris said standing in front of her. “Zoey,” Chris said waving a hand in front of her face.
Zoey blinked, “He-He’s alive?”
Chris shook his head and placed his hands on her shoulders. “It’s a dream remember?”
“But Cole was real, Phoebe’s death is-”
“I won’t let anything happen to you,” Chris said softly.
Zoey nodded and glanced at Phoebe. “We should look for the others.”
End of chapter five

Chapter six
Paige was walking down a quiet, desolate hall. She looked around trying to figure out where she was.
“Over here,” a voice called out to her. A tall man appeared, a man whom she hadn’t seen in quite a while.
“Glenn?” Paige said.
“No. I’m the boogie man. Are you feeling alright?” he asked looking at her curiously. “Come on, you don’t want to miss this; it’s going to be great.” Glenn disappeared into one of the rooms.
“Help me,” a voice said.
“Glenn?” Paige ran up to the door and entered the room that she had seen her friend enter. A large crowd of people had gathered and were whispering to each other.
“What’s going on?” Paige asked looking at the crowd from the doorway.
“Paige, come on,” Glenn said from somewhere in the crowd. “You don’t want to miss this.”
As Paige began to make her way to the front of the crowd she noticed that the walls were full of triquetras that were burning brightly in orange red flames. Paige gasped when she reached the front of the crowd. There lay the lifeless body of her older sister Phoebe.
“See, I told you that you wouldn’t want to miss this,” Glenn said with a smile.
Paige couldn’t keep her eyes off of the body. It was stark white; a dark vibrant red stain of blood covered much of Phoebe’s neck and her white shirt. Phoebe’s face was frozen in an expression of pain. Her pupils were huge, trying to catch whatever light they could as her vision became black.
The crowd began to laugh, not viciously but as if it was amusing. Paige turned and began to run through the crowd. Her vision was blurred by the tears. When she ran out of the room a bright light nearly blinded her. Paige blinked a few times and found herself in the middle of the jungle.
“What the hell?” As Paige began to make her way through the large shrubs and bushes, she heard a twig snap from somewhere in the bushes. The sound echoed loudly and a bunch of small black birds screeched loudly as they rose into the air. Paige heard something behind her and when she turned she came face to face with the arrow head of a spear.
“Piper?” Paige said barely recognizing her sister. Piper’s face was covered in black markings made of some type of pain. She was dressed in a tattered skirt of straw and wore a leather top. Bones made up the jewelry she wore on her ankles and wrists. Piper spoke but in a different language.
“What? I don’t understand you,” Paige said.
Piper slapped Paige on the leg with the spear.
“Ow, what the hell was that for?”
Piper yelled at Paige and gestured violently with her spear in one direction. Piper slapped Paige again.
“Damn it Piper! I understand, you want me to go there?”
Piper nodded and gestured again.
Paige sighed and walked in the direction that Piper had pointed out. As she made her way through the bushes, Piper shoved her.
“Alright, enough all ready!” Paige snapped looking behind her. When she did she came face to face with a big red door and loud music filled her ears. Paige turned and noticed that she was on what looked like a dance floor. It was dimly lit and had flashing colored lights that bounced off the walls and a disco ball that was in the center.
Paige realized that she was in some kind of disco roller rink. People skated by her dancing to the beat of “Shake Your Groove Thing.”
“What the hell is going on?” Paige wondered.
“Paige, isn’t this groovy?” Zoey asked as she skated circles around Paige. Zoey had her hair feathered and wore a maroon bell bottoms. She looked like a member of the television series Charlie’s Angels.
“Where are we?” Paige asked.
“At the roller disco, duh,” she replied.
Chris came skating up beside her in blue jean flares. “Its couples Zoey come on.” Zoey waved by to Paige and skated off with Chris.
Paige sighed and cautiously made her way across the skate floor. The music changed and slowed down.
“Help me,” a scared voice called out.
Paige turned towards the voice and noticed a little girl with pig tails and pink and white roller skates. “What’s the matter sweetie?” Paige asked as she approached the little girl.
The little girl didn’t say anything; instead she just stood there staring at Paige.
“Hello?” Paige waved a hand in front of the girl’s face. The little girl jumped onto Paige, biting down on her hand. Paige screamed but the skaters around her merely glanced at her then continued skating.
The little girl shoved her hand into Paige’s chest and ripped out her warm heart. The bloody heart beat twice more then stopped beating altogether.

Chapter seven
Zoey screamed.
“What, what is it?” Chris asked in a concerned voice as he turned around. The two had been making their way through the jungle terrain for quite a while now.
Zoey wiped violently at her dress and hair, “Spiders!” she said.
Chris rolled his eyes, “You’re a witch; you’ve gone up against demons yet you scream at the sight of spiders? A little pathetic don’t you think?”
Zoey glared at him, “Not as pathetic as being a social hermit.”
Chris shook his head, “You know, has it ever occurred to you that maybe I’m perfectly fine with not going out and flirting all the time; that I have more important and mature things to do?”
“Oh, so now I’m immature?”
“To be honest, in a sense, yes you are immature,” Chris said.
“Beats being so mature that I don’t have times for friend and a life,” Zoey said coldly. As soon as the words came out of her mouth Zoey felt a twinge of regret go through her. “I’m sorry, I didn’t mean-”
“No, you’re right,” Chris said. “I’ve been so consumed in my work that that’s all I ever do.”
Zoey smiled sympathetically, “Well, of wasn’t completely true.”
“Oh yeah?”
“Yeah, I mean, you have me as your friend whether you like it or not and with me comes Jake and you two seem to get along fine.
Chris smiled, “Who said I didn’t like having you around?”
Zoey smiled, “You do, do you?” she said nudging him with a swing of her hip.
“Yes, contrary to popular belief you’re not as annoying as some may think you to be.” Zoey laughed. “Yeah, you’re fun to be with.”
“Are you trying to make a pass at me Christopher Perry?”
Chris smiled and was about to reply but Zoey cut him off. “Since when is there a roller rink in the jungle?”
Chris and Zoey stepped onto the wooden floor; again Chris let out a gasp of pain.
“Oh no,” Zoey said and ran up quickly to Paige and fell to her knees. She scooted back completely scared out of her wits.
“Oh god!” Chris said and turned away. He noticed that Zoey wasn’t looking so well. “Zoey?”
“He-he did it,” Zoey said, her voice shaking with fear.
“Who?”
Zoey placed her hands to her head, “Damien, he, he-”
“No I don’t think-”
“Chris, you didn’t see their bodies!” Zoey exclaimed. “Summer and Ronnie…they -”
Chris shook her shoulders. “Zoey listen to me, he didn’t do this. Damien is dead, you vanquished him remember?”
“Cole is dead too,” she reminded.
“Yes but I think the scrawny twit has a point,” Cole said stepping over Paige’s dead body.
“What do you mean?” Zoey asked looking at Cole curiously.
Cole gestured his hands in the air, “Damien didn’t kill Paige.”
Zoey studied Cole for a moment.
“You can trust me,” Cole said with a soft smile.
“Why would she trust you?” Chris asked coldly.
“Why wouldn’t she? After all she doesn’t want to believe that Damien’s alive-which he’s not.” Cole laughed then glanced at Paige. “Two down and I’m thinking it’s going after much more than just killing off the Charmed Ones.” With that Cole disappeared.
Zoey grabbed Chris’ arm suddenly, “Oh no,” she said getting up.
“What, what is it?” Chris asked concerned by the expression on her face.
“Phoebe’s blood was drained by the puncture wounds in the neck; Paige’s heart was ripped out…it all adds up.”
“What does?”
“Whatever killed them is taking what it needs to make itself real outside of the dream world. I saw this in a book in the attic, and since it’s taking from the sisters that must mean-”
“It’s after Wyatt,” Chris finished. “We need to get to Piper quickly.”
End of chapter seven

Chapter eight
Piper laughed flirtatiously. “What are we doing here?”
The good looking man with black brown hair and piercing blue eyes smiled a charming million dollar smile. “Dance with me,” he said.
“Here, right now?” Piper asked as she gazed around the giant ballroom with its white columns lining the perimeter and marble floor. The couples glided along the floor to the music, elegantly clad in black and white. “I’m not dressed, I’m wearing my pajamas.”
He smiled and snapped his fingers; Piper’s pajama’s transformed into a black off the shoulder dress. The two began dancing, twirling and floating along with the other couples.
The good looking man leaned in and whispered, “I love you Piper.” His voice was different yet familiar.
Piper pulled away, “Leo?”
Leo smiled, “Who else?”
“But-”
Leo cut her off with a soft, gentle kiss.
“Leo, I don’t think we should-” he kissed her again, “be doing this.”
“Why not? I love you and that will never change. I know you feel the same way.”
“I do, I do love you but I can’t go through the pain of losing you again.”
***** “This is ridiculous,” Zoey said as she and Chris exited the swamp. “Who the hell dreams of the swamp?” She removed pieces of leaves off of her shoulder. “I’m all grimy and I smell and I think there’s swamp muck in my shoes.”
“So I’ve had a few nightmares where I’m in the swamp,” Chris confessed. Zoey glared at him. “Hey, don’t give me that look, we had to run away from a white bunny rabbit,” he said.
“One, that bunny rabbit was homicidal, two it had a knife and a freaky smile and three, don’t use that tone with me Christopher Perry.”
Chris smiled, “You’re cute when you’re angry.”
Zoey smiled then looked around; the scenery changed. Now the two stood at the entrance of the ballroom.
“There are Piper and Leo,” Chris said making his way forward.
Zoey grabbed his arm, “We can’t go in there like this.” Zoey closed her eyes tightly.
“What are you-?”
“Shut up, I’m picking out our clothes.”
Zoey’s black flapper dress turned into a pale pink spaghetti strapped dress that hit just below the knees. Chris’ army uniform transformed into a black tuxedo with a black tie. “Now we can go,” Zoey said locking arms with him.
Piper smiled up at Leo and Leo smiled back at her. Everything seemed perfect to her. Leo glanced around, “Let’s get out here,” he said. “There’s something that I want you to see.”
Piper smiled and held his hand.
“Alright let’s get a move on,” Zoey said as she and Chris continued to dance. As she and Chris began to make their way across the ballroom floor someone grabbed Zoey and tore her away from Chris.
“Let go of me!” Zoey demanded.
“Ah-ah-ah,” Cole said. “I want to dance.”
Chris get Piper. Chris looked around, “Zoey?” he said. He had heard her voice but it seemed to be inside his head. “Ok you are not going crazy,” Chris said to himself.
Go get Piper. Hurry!
Chris glanced around and spotted Piper leaving hand in hand with Leo.
“Where are we going?” she asked as the two made their way out into the night.
“There’s something you’ve got to see.” He led her to a place where a big red curtain with a gold pull rope was.
“What’s this?” Piper asked looking at the curtain.
“Piper get away from him!” Chris yelled as he came around the corner.
“Chris, you’re ruining my dream. What are you-?”
“That’s not Leo,” Chris said.
Piper turned and looked at him then back at Leo. The curtain was now open, revealing the pale dead bodies of her two younger sisters. A pale blue light illuminated Paige’s body, her blood shined vibrantly. Phoebe was propped up against a thin piece of wood board, her eyes were wide and her face was contorted with pain.
“Oh my god!” Piper said. She screamed; she could feel her knees starting to give out.
Leo turned into a small little girl. “Help me,” the little girl said, her voice was small and full of fear. Piper backed away from her, “Help me!” The little girl screamed a horrible scream and rushed at Piper.
With a flick of his wrist, Chris sent the girl flying into a stack of large crates.
“What the hell is going on?” Piper demanded.
“No time to explain,” Chris said grabbing Piper’s hand. “Run!” The two ran into the ballroom.
Cole shot another energy ball at Zoey who deflected it with her wind power.
“You can’t kill me, I’m already dead,” Cole said breathlessly from behind one of the white columns. She had a lot of energy that he wasn’t used to.
“Maybe not but that doesn’t mean that I can’t hurt you.” She closed her eyes and a high voltage energy ball formed in her hand. Zoey opened her eyes and sent it at Cole; the ball grazed his shoulder and he let out a cry of pain.
Cole shimmered and appeared behind Zoey. “Ahem!” Zoey turned startled. “Looking for me?” Cole lit an energy ball and threw it at her. She shimmered and then sent a violent gust of wind at Cole.
“Enough!” Piper yelled. “What’s going on here? How did you get here?”
Before Cole could reply, the little girl entered the ballroom. All the doors slammed shut and locked. The lights began to flicker.
“That’s not good,” Cole mumbled.
The little girl’s face was contorted with rage and her eyes took on a blood red color. Piper raised her hands and tried to blow the girl up but nothing happened.
The little girl jumped at Piper but Zoey sent a violent gust of wind at the girl. “Don’t let her near Piper,” Zoey said as she sent another gust at the girl.
The girl screamed and materialized out.
“Where’d she go?” Chris said as the four of them glanced around the place.
Zoey screamed out in pain, the little girl had reappeared and stabbed her n the waist.
The girl whipped around violently and attacked Cole. Cole grabbed the little girl by the neck and threw her against the wall.
The little girl laughed, “He will be mine!” She raised her hands and sent Chris, Zoey and Cole flying across the room, smacking hard into the wall and falling on top of each other.
The girl then sent Piper skidding across the floor. “It won’t hurt…much. Once you’ve given me what I want, the twice blessed child will have no choice but to come to me.”
Piper’s eyes filled with anger. “I won’t let you take my baby!”
The girl laughed a cold shrill laugh, “You don’t have a choice.”
The girl advanced Piper.
“I call upon the power of three, destroy this evil entity!”
The girl laughed, “Idiot! Your sisters are dead.”
“I call upon the Halliwell line, Through the sands of space and time, Fill my body with the power that I need in this darkest hour.”
White lights hit Piper in the chest. Piper lifted her hand, palm facing the little girl, her eyes pink, and a vibrant beam of white light burst out of her palm and hit the girl in the chest.
The girl let out a piercing scream and burst.

Chapter nine
The sunlight streamed through the cracks between the curtains in the room. Zoey opened her eyes, green filled her vision. She glanced up and noticed that she lay snuggled up with Chris. The green was his shirt; the two were practically hugging.
Chris stirred and opened his eyes slowly.
“Good morning,” Zoey said.
He smiled, “’Morning.”
“Piper and the others,” she said suddenly.
“They’re fine,” he assured. “I’d know otherwise.” Zoey nodded. “We should get up,” he said lifting her hand off of his waist.
“No, let’s stay here for a while,” she said placing her hand back on his waist and closing her eyes. “Besides it’s too early.”
Chris smiled and pulled her closer and closed his eyes.
****
Piper was hugging Wyatt close to her when her sisters rushed into the room. “Oh thank god, you’re alright,” Phoebe said as she hugged her sister.
“Hey, I’m glad you’re both alright,” Paige said joining the hug. “What the hell was that thing?” Phoebe wondered.
Piper shrugged, “I don’t know but I’m not going to let it get to us again.”
“Do you think it was a dream sorcerer?” Paige asked.
“There’s only one way to find out.”
*****
The hooded figure threw his bowl of black powder against the stone wall and let out a roar of frustration.
“Well someone’s a spoiled sport,” a man’s voice said from somewhere amongst the shadows.
The hooded figure whipped around, “Who’s there?” he growled as he glanced around the fire lit cave.
“Me.” A fire ball came flying out of the shadows and set the hooded figure on flames. He screamed and burst. Cole stepped out of the shadows and gazed around the now deserted cave.
Just then Paige, Piper and Phoebe appeared in a blaze of white lights. Cole quickly stepped back into the shadows.
“Where is he?” Paige asked clutching a potion vile in her hand.
“I don’t know, the spell was supposed to bring us to whatever it is,” Piper said looking about cautiously.
“You mean was,” Phoebe corrected. “Look, burn marks and ashes.”
“Damn, something got to it before us,” Paige mumbled. “I so wanted payback on that thing.”
“Well I don’t know about you, but I don’t want to find out what killed it.”
Piper’s right, we should go.” The three orbed out.
Cole smiled viciously.
