Chapter one
He ran as quickly as his body would let him. She was calling out to him, her saccharine sweet voice saying his name. He wasn’t running fast enough so he pushed himself harder than before. He had to get to her. His feet began to bleed as his bare skin came down upon twigs and tiny stones in the dirt path. He stumbled to his knees, placing his right hand over his heart.
There she was before him; her beautiful, long silky, white-blonde hair blowing gently in the night breeze. Her ice watery blue eyes, eyes that caused such blissful pain, locked onto his. She smiled sweetly and held out her hand to him. He grabbed it, his heart stopped beating.
Chapter two
Zoey nodded her head as she strummed her black electric guitar. Jake nodded his head as he counted silently to himself then joined in and began playing along with her. The two smiled as they continued to strum their guitars, the music booming through the amplifiers.
“They’re always in his room Thursdays after school,” Mrs. McKenzie said as she led Chris up the stairs of the small house. “It’s been like that since they were 14,” she continued as she wiped away a red curl that had fallen out of place. “At first I wasn’t sure what those two were doing but it was just music.” She opened the door to her son’s room. “Company!” she shouted over the loud music.
Zoey smiled in acknowledgement as she continued to strum her guitar.
Jake continued to jump up and down then nodded towards Zoey and the two sped up the tempo then finally finished it off with the last chord sustaining.
“Not bad,” Zoey said. “I liked the revision in bar 18.”
“Yeah but it still could be better,” Jake said. “Hey Chris, what’s up man?”
“Nothing much, just came by to let Zoey know that Piper needs our help.”
“Not normal?” Jake asked.
“I don’t know she just said to meet her at the club,” Chris replied.
Zoey nodded and began to pack up her guitar, “Hey so thanks for the music I’ll take a look at it tonight,” she said to Jake.
Jake nodded then turned to Chris. “So there’s this get together that me and the guys are having tomorrow night. You should come.”
Chris glanced at Zoey, “Don’t look at me, its guy’s night out,” she said while fanning herself. The whole day she felt extremely hot.
“Which doesn’t necessarily count you out,” Jake teased.
“Yeah but it does count you out,” Zoey said with a sly smile.
Jake smiled and nodded, “So that’s how it is. Anyways, you should come Chris, it’ll be fun. A night out with the guys, flirt with some girls pick some up if you get lucky.”
Zoey laughed quietly as Jake said this.
Chris nodded, “Sure, why not?”
“Cool. See you tomorrow night then.”
“Jake, estudiar para el examen de espanol manana,” Zoey said.
Jake made a face, “In English please.”
“Study for the Spanish test tomorrow.”
Jake groaned.
****
“I didn’t know you played the guitar,” Chris said as he and Zoey descended the stairs in P3.
“Well now you know,” Zoey replied removing her jacket and revealing a black laced spaghetti strapped tank top. “Is it just me or is it hot in here?”
Chris looked at her curiously, “The air conditioning is on high, it’s really cool in here. Which is kind of crazy seeing as its like 50 degrees outside.”
“It is? I feel like its 100 degrees in here.” Zoey felt her forehead with her hand. “Do I feel like I’m running a fever?” she grabbed his hand and placed it on her forehead.
Chris shook his head, “Nope, no fever.”
Zoey removed his hand, “This is weird.”
“It’s about time you got here,” Piper said approaching them. She thrust a clip board at Chris, “Check the stock at the bar; go, chop chop.”
Zoey watched as Chris left towards the bar. Lately she had her own secret fun with him as she watched him and the attractive auburn haired girl Jenna flirt behind the counter.
She could easily tell how into her he was and vice versa. Then again, Jenna had been crushing on Chris since he first got the job as bartender. Chris and Jenna were the Harriet and Mr. Elton, just with out the confusion of love, and she was the Emma.
“Zoey, you will do me the favor of wiping down the tables and counter tops.”
“Aye, aye captain. I’ll wipe down those dirty coun’er tops an’ ‘ave ‘em clean before ye know it.”
Piper looked at Zoey oddly and couldn’t help but smile at her silliness.
“Are you Piper Halliwell?” A tall man with jet black hair and brown eyes asked in an Irish accent.
“That’s correct and you might be?”
“Shawn Grahm, we talked over the phone the other day about a job. You’re in need of a d.j.”
“Oh right; sorry, things are a little hectic today. Well over there is the booth where you can set up and-”
“Piper, the electrician’s on the phone,” Jenna informed from the bar.
“All right Jenna, I’ll be right there.” Piper turned to Shawn, “So set up and when you’re ready give me what you’ve got.”
“Alright, thanks.” As Shawn made his way over to the D.J. booth he noticed Zoey’s guitar case and went over to it. He glanced around then opened the case revealing a shiny black guitar that stood out against the maroon interior of the case. “Can I help you with something, other than my guitar?” Zoey asked as she approached him.
“Oh sorry, I couldn’t help myself. I love music.” He turned to her and smiled; she was very pretty. “So you play?”
“No, I just bought it ‘cause I thought it’d make me look cool,” Zoey replied.
Shawn nodded his head, “Same here, I thought a guitar would help me get women.” He and Zoey laughed. “Really though, it’s a nice Fender. An old one too.”
“Thanks. I’m Zoey by the way,” she said and shook his hand.
“I’m Shawn; well I should get set up, I’m testing to be D.J. here. Are you coming tonight?”
Zoey smiled, “Maybe and good luck.”
End of Chapter two

Chapter three
The piers were dark except for the few lamp posts that were placed here and there. A young man around 25 was walking along the piers when he saw her. She was the most beautiful woman he had ever seen. She sensed his presence and turned to face him. Her ice blue eyes locked onto his and a feeling of lust mixed with pain went through the young man.
****
“Good morning sleepy head,” Phoebe greeted as Zoey entered the kitchen in a pink tank top and blue jean skirt even though it was towards the end of December. She was still feeling extremely hot and couldn’t figure out why. She fanned herself as she sat down at the table.
“Good morning,” Zoey replied. “What time is it?”
“It’s eleven-thirty,” Piper replied as she handed Zoey a glass of orange juice.
“Geeze! The whole day is practically gone.”
“Well you were out pretty late last night,” Paige said with a look of curiosity on her face.
“That’s because she was flirting with the new D.J. that I hired,” Piper explained.
“Oh? Do expand on this,” Phoebe said taking a seat next to Zoey.
“What am I, someone whom you can live vicariously through?”
“Oh come on Zoey, we’re all girls here,” Paige said.
“Fine; Shawn and I talked and really got to know each other last night.”
“Who’s Shawn?” Chris asked as entered the kitchen and grabbed himself some orange juice.
“Zoey’s new boyfriend,” Paige teased.
“He’s not my boyfriend,” Zoey said. “If he and I happen to go out, I won’t complain.”
“So what’s his deal?” Paige continued.
“He’s 23-”
“23? Talk about a May-December relationship,” Chris teased.
Zoey gave him a look, “As I was saying, he is a student at San Francisco State University- a transfer actually. He just moved here from Ireland a few months ago. Also, he’s double majoring in music and mass communications. Aside from that, he’s about six foot one, tall, handsome, jet black hair and brown eyes; and that Irish accent!”
The sisters laughed while Chris rolled his eyes.
“Sweetie, isn’t he a little too old for you though?” Piper asked.
“No; age doesn’t matter to me. I’ve dated older men and besides, I seem to get along with them just fine. In example, I get along with Chris and he’s 23.”
“Well that’s different,” Piper said. “Chris I trust but it’s all those other 23 year old men who take an interest in you that I don’t trust.”
“So let me get this straight: I can go out with older men only if the older man is Chris? What’s the point in that?”
“Standing right here,” Chris intervened.
Piper glanced at him, “I’m just concerned about you being safe. Damien was older than you along with Alex and look how they treated you.”
“Well how do you know that Chris isn’t some anti-social homicidal creep?” Zoey argued.
Piper laughed, “You’re kidding right? I mean, sure Chris has some flighty things about him and he’s stubborn, obnoxious at times, moody, a smart ass and-”
“Again, standing right here people,” Chris repeated.
“But the thing is I know him well enough to know that he can’t be.”
Zoey shook her head and fanned herself vigorously. It felt as if her temperature was rising. “This is so not fair.”
“Well if you want to date him, invite him to dinner and Leo and I will decide if it’s ok for you to date him.”
“What? You want me to bring him over so that you can give me your permission? News flash, I don’t need your permission to date someone.”
“News flash,” Piper mocked, “You live in my house under my rules and if you want to date him then you’ll invite him to dinner.”
“Well what if I hate your rules?” Zoey tested.
“Well that’s too bad because you live here.”
“Well maybe I’ll move out, it wouldn’t be the first time I moved. Besides, you’re not my mother.”
“Fine,” Piper said growing angry. “Move out, no one’s stopping you. You’re 18; you’re an adult, go find someplace to live.”
“I will and just to piss you off I’ll date a thirty year old.”
“Fine.”
“Fine!”
“Fine! Let me help you pack.”
“If it gets me out of this prison more quickly.”
“This prison is where you’ve had a home for the past several months.”
“Yeah well, its just number six on my list except this one’s the worst of all because there’s a frigid woman who thinks she’s my mother.”
“Well you’re a stubborn little brat,” Piper said.
“Hey you guys,” Paige mediated.
“By the way, your deserts are bad. Who ever said you could make streusel?” Zoey resumed.
“That’s it, go to your room young lady!”
“Stop acting like you’re my mother! I don’t need one; I haven’t had one for 18 years so I see no point in having one now!”
The kitchen towel in Piper’s hand burst into flames. Piper dropped the towel and stamped out the flames.
“What the hell just happened?” Paige asked.
“Zoey,” Phoebe said. A wave of anger had overcome Phoebe seconds before the towel lighted in flames.
“I didn’t mean to, I-I didn’t know I even could. Piper I’m so sorry.” Zoey ran out of the kitchen and Paige ran after her.

Chapter Four
Chris orbed into the conservatory where Piper and Phoebe were seated on the couch.
“Well, what did the elders say?” Piper asked.
Chris stuck his hands in his pants pockets, “Apparently that was no one-time thing. The elders said that fire is her new power,” he informed.
“What, how can that be?” Phoebe asked. “I thought our powers advanced off of our old ones, not by getting entirely new ones.”
Chris shrugged, “The elders don’t understand it either. Usually obtaining whole new powers is only associated with non-witch beings like demons.”
“You think that Zoey might be part demon?” Phoebe said trying to make clear what she was hearing.
“That would explain why she can shimmer,” Piper said. “I mean, I’ve only heard of demons being able to shimmer. Plus, Chris told us of her holding dominion over the underworld in the future.” Piper noticed that her sister was signaling her to stop talking then she turned and realized Zoey had been standing there the whole time.
Zoey turned and ran back up the stairs.
“Damn it, I just spent the past half-hour trying to get her to come down,” Paige said glaring at Piper.
The door bell rang. “Oh that’s Jason,” Phoebe said getting up and answering the door.
“Hey honey,” she said gave him a sweet kiss on the lips.
“Hey,” he said and kissed her again. “Are we still on for our lunch date?”
Phoebe smiled apologetically, “I can’t make it, we’re kind of having a problem right now.”
“Is it demonic?” Jason asked.
“No, it’s just,” Phoebe beckoned him in and closed the door. “Zoey’s feeling a bit out of place right now. She’s locked herself in the upstairs bathroom and won’t come out because she thinks she’ll accidentally pull a Carrie on us.”
“She can move things with her mind?”
“No, much more like Carrie two.”
“She’s a fire starter.”
“Yeah and she’s scared but she won’t let us near her. She even put a charm on the bathroom so we can’t get in magically.”
“What if I tried to talk to her?” Jason suggested.
“Oh you would? How sweet; go ahead and good luck.”
Jason knocked on the door. “Zoey?”
“Go away,” Zoey said from behind the door.
“Zoey it’s me, Jason.”
“Great so now they’re sending in the reinforcements.”
“I wanted to talk to you.”
“There’s nothing to talk about, you should leave, it’s not safe.” A small flame lit up on one of the towels and Zoey quickly killed it with some water.
“Zoey I don’t believe that,” Jason said.
“You would if knew that I was part…demon.”
“Part demon?” he repeated with a laugh. “What makes you think that?”
“That’s what they said, the elders. You know those things up there that are like a magical congress. That’s what Chris said is in my future.”
“You’re not a demon; don’t pay any attention to them.”
“You don’t know that.”
“How could you possibly be a demon? You love just about everything; you’re an environmentalist and hound people for littering or using products which contain CFC’s. You’re an artist too. How is that demonic? I don’t think you have an evil bone in your body.”
There was a long period of silence then Zoey opened the door. “You really think so?”
Jason smiled, “Yeah, I do.”
Zoey smiled faintly. “Thanks. But what if I set the Christmas tree on fire?”
Jason laughed, “Um…use the fire extinguisher?”
End of Chapter four

Chapter five
Cole finished casting the spell and suddenly the beautiful blonde woman with ice blue eyes appeared before him. She smiled seductively while locking eyes with him.
“You can stop trying to seduce me. I don’t want you.” He smiled as she glared daggers at him. He then began to pace back and forth in front of her. “Now if I get this straight, if one-being me- rejects a Linhan Shee- being you- then the Linhan Shee becomes the slave of the one who rejected her am I correct?”
The Linhan Shee sniffed at the air, “You are no man.”
Cole smiled, “No, but a demon who seeks your help. Also the demon you are now a slave to.”
“What is it that you want with me?” Her voice was a harsh whispery hiss.
A nasty smile spread across Cole’s face. “You’re going to help me take over the underworld.”
“You cannot do as you wish for the Council is in power.”
Cole laughed, “Well not for long, but we’ll worry about the Council later. First things first,” he clapped his hands together. “I want you to do me a favor. You see, I’ve been gone for quite a while now and I’ve come to find that the Charmed Ones have a new white lighter.” Cole stopped pacing and looked at the beautiful woman. “I want him dead.”
“I do not kill for others,” she replied.
“No, but you do drive men crazy; and right now this white lighter wants love.” Cole laughed, “Pathetic isn’t it?”
The Linhan Shee thought it over a moment. “How do you know that he seeks love?”
Cole smiled at her, “You can say that I found out in a dream. The girl whom he’s after doesn’t even realize it’s there. This love that he has for her is a weakness; his Achilles’ heel. With this weakness, he’ll keep the witches preoccupied while I deal with the Council. With you as the distraction, the witches won’t even know about my plan.”
The Linhan Shee smiled viciously.
*****
Chris came down the basement stairs, “Zoey?” he called out as he looked around the spacious which now looked like some sort of loft.
“Oh hey Chris,” Zoey greeted as she stepped out from behind a black room divider. She was wearing a black short sleeved, low-cut v-neck shirt; dangling from her ears were dark blue beaded earrings. She also had her make up done nicely. “What’s up?” she asked walking over to her dresser and beginning to sniff different perfume bottles.
“Nothing, I just need an opinion,” he said and held up two different shirts. “The green or the red?”
Zoey looked at him curiously, “Are you trying to impress a girl?” She was giddy on the inside. After talking highly of Jenna he was finally going to make a move.
Chris shrugged, “Maybe, maybe not.”
Zoey smiled slyly, “Would this certain girl go by the name of Jenna and also work at P3?”
“You caught me; who told you?”
“I can just tell,” she replied. “And Green, it brings out your eyes.”
Chris smiled, “What about you?” he asked removing the white t-shirt he was wearing and put on the green one.
“What about me?” Zoey asked innocently and handed him a perfume bottle. “Yes or no?”
“If you were my grandma,” he replied with a face. Zoey’s jaw dropped and she tossed the bottle into the trash. “You’re ignoring my question.”
“I’m going out with Shawn and the sisters don’t know about it,” she replied buttoning up his shirt. “If you’re my friend then you won’t rat me out or else I’ll have to set you on fire which I’m not sure how that works still.”
Chris smiled mischievously, “If I keep quiet what do I get back in return?”
“My undying promise that I won’t let Jenna know that you have a drooling problem when you sleep.”
“I don’t drool,” Chris said in denial.
Zoey handed him two more bottles. “Chanel number five or Clinique Happy?”
Chris sniffed them both. “I like this one,” he said handing her back a black bottle. “It’s the one you always wear.”
Zoey smiled sweetly, “I didn’t know you noticed. Chanel it is.”
End of chapter five

Chapter six
The club was booming with customers as Jake, Chris, Bryan and the rest of the gang made their way across the dance floor.
“Hey Jake,” a very pretty girl with long black hair said approaching them.
“OH hey Tammi,” Jake replied and gave her a peck on the lips. “Working the streets tonight are you Tam?” Bryan said.
Tammi glared at him, “Bite me jerk off,” she snapped. “So, who’s the new guy?” she asked checking out Chris.
“This is Chris; Chris this is Tammi.”
“The Heidi Fleiss of San Francisco High,” Bryan added. Tammi glared at him maliciously.
“Hey,” Chris greeted.
Tammi smiled, “If nothing is pleasing to you on this boys' night out, call me,” she said writing her number on his palm. “I’m sure I can satisfy you.” With that she walked away.
Chris smiled, “Is she always like that?”
Jake sighed, “Pretty much. Good for you man.”
Bryan shook his head, “If you have any feelings for Zoey as a friend you won’t go anywhere near that girl.”
“Zoey doesn’t like her?” Chris asked now interested in this information.
“Tammi tried stealing Damien away from her several times during their relationship. Then Tammi got it into her head that jumping Zoey might get her what she wants but as you might know that was a mistake. Zoey kicked her sorry ass. Zoey doesn’t take that crap from anyone.”
Chris nodded as he listened. He then spotted Jenna behind the bar counter and excused himself from the group. He wiped his palm on his jeans and the number smeared but wouldn’t go away.
Jenna was mixing a margarita when he reached the counter. “Hey Jenna,” he said flashing one of his charming smiles.
Jenna smiled brightly in his presence. “Hey Chris, what are you doing here? I thought you had the night off.”
“Well I do. When’s your next break?”
“Right now, why?” she asked looking at him with a curious smile.
“In that case would you like to dance?”
Jenna smiled and nodded, “Of course.”
Jenna laughed as she continued to dance with Chris. He was funny and interesting to talk to. He also had this mysterious air about him that always kept her guessing.
Jenna smiled, “So, is this going to be a regular thing? You and I working together and dancing on our breaks?”
Chris smiled, “Well, if that’s all you want….”
Jenna smiled and kissed him on the lips. When she kissed him he didn’t feel guilty like he though he would. He didn’t feel like he was betraying Bianca at all. Chris smiled slyly, “Now I wouldn’t mind this becoming a regular thing.”
Jena laughed and leaned her head against his shoulder.
All men turned towards her as she descended the stairs. She moved as if she were gliding on the air. Her long, flowy white-blonde hair stood out against the pale pink spaghetti strapped dress she wore.
Jake couldn’t help but stare at her. He had never seen anyone more beautiful in his life. She caught eyes with him for a quick second.
Heads still turned her way but she ignored them and their energy. She was on a mission. She saw him and began to make her way towards them.
Chris looked at her and couldn’t keep from looking at her.
“Can I help you?” Jenna demanded not liking her catching his eye.
“You can leave us,” the Linhan Shee said still staring at Chris in the eye.
“Excuse me?” Jenna said annoyed.
The Linhan Shee raised her hand and a faint gold light shone from it, shinning onto Jenna. The whole room froze instantly.
“What the hell is going on here?” Piper demanded.
The Linhan Shee smiled seductively at Chris then materialized out.
“Who was that?” Piper demanded.
“Who was that,” Chris said still in awe of the Linhan Shee’s presence.
End of chapter six
Chapter seven
“Well?” Cole demanded impatiently as the Linhan Shee entered the lair.
“He’s infected, along with the other,” she replied with a satisfied smile.
“The other-what other? You were only supposed infect the white lighter.”
“The other also shares closeness to the witches. A friend of theirs. All the more distraction; that is what you wanted, is it not- a distraction?”
“Just…just make sure you perform your task.”
****
“Chris, who was that?” Piper asked again studying the young white lighter. Phoebe, Paige and Chris were gathered in the living room trying to find an explanation for what went on at the club.
Chris smiled, “She was so beautiful, so…”
“Yes, we know,” Paige said annoyed that that was the only thing he would say. “But who was she? She nearly exposed magic to the whole club.”
“I don’t know,” Chris said now suddenly saddened by the thought of not even knowing her name.
Just then the front door closed and Zoey tried to sneak past them.
“Hey hold it right there missy,” Piper said walking towards her. “Where have you been?”
Zoey sighed, “Ah hell, I’ll just tell you. I have good new and I have bad news.”
“Let’s hear what you have to say for the good news,” Piper said folding her arms.
“Well the good news is that I disobeyed you and went out with Shawn.”
“How is disobeying me good news?”
“Well for one, the date was amazing; two, it’s better than the bad news.”
“What did you do?” Paige asked.
Zoey smiled guiltily, “You know, it’s quite a funny story actually. Shawn and I were walking down the piers, really getting to know each other…ok more like getting kissy, and this jerk totally bumps into me and I sort of set a dumpster on fire.”
“Not so funny,” Phoebe said.
“Did anyone see? Was anyone hurt?” Piper asked.
“No, see, I contained it with…another new power of mine.”
“What new power?” Paige asked confused by what she was hearing.
“Um, the water one,” Zoey replied.
“The what one?” Paige asked.
“I saw fire and I thought water and sure enough when I tried to conjure wind I got water, which is better than fire right?”
“This is too much for one night,” Piper said placing and hand to her forehead. “First Chris and his witchy friend, now this.”
“What witchy friend?” Zoey asked quickly hoping to change the subject.
“That’s the thing,” Paige said. “We don’t know who she is or what she is and Chris here isn’t any help.”
Phoebe yawned, “I don’t know about you guys but I am exhausted. I have an early meeting tomorrow so good night.”
She left the living room soon followed by her other two sisters. Zoey looked at Chris curiously, “So…what’s the deal with the new girl? I thought you were going to be with Jenna tonight.”
Zoey sat down beside him a bit upset at the fact that Chris was infatuated with another woman besides Jenna. She really thought that the two of them would hit it off really well.
Chris shrugged, “I was with Jenna. Then I saw her and now I’m here. I’m seeing Jenna tomorrow night.”
Zoey smiled and nodded, “So, how was guys’ night out?”
“I got a phone number and saw Jenna and saw her.”
“A phone number huh?”
“Tammi Ellsworth,” he said with a mischievous smile waiting for her reaction. He loved pushing her buttons.
“Tammi Ellsworth?!” Zoey exclaimed.
“A friend of yours?”
Zoey glared at him, “Only if she’s six feet under. I hate that @#%$!” she took in a deep breath and recollected herself. “Do what you want it’s your life.”
Chris laughed, “Don’t worry I’m not interested in her. So you’ve got another new power?”
Zoey smiled faintly, “Yea and I kinda can freeze things, you know like when water becomes really cold-”
“I know what you meant,” Chris said a little testily. Zoey glanced at him, “Sorry, I don’t know why I said that the way I did.”
Zoey studied him for a second, “Anyways, I’m going Christmas shopping tomorrow and was wondering if you’d like to join me in the holiday rush.”
“Yeah, sounds like fun.”
Zoey nodded, “Well good night.”
“’Night.”
End of chapter seven

Chapter eight
He couldn’t sleep. He tossed and turned; all he could think about was her. Her presence still lingered with him. No matter how hard Chris tried, he couldn’t stop thinking about her. Her beauty mesmerized him. The very sight of her was so captivating that everything else seemed unimportant to him. He wanted her. He had to have her.
****
“Chris!” Zoey said more firmly and loudly this time. It was now the next day and the two were in the conservatory trying to figure out what was triggering Zoey’s powers. So far she had set the kitchen towel on flame and flooded the downstairs bathroom and that was only this morning.
“Yeah I agree,” he said snapping out of the daze he was in. “Oh really, so then I took off my shirt for nothing?”
“Wait, what?” he asked looking at her.
Zoey laughed, “I was joking, see the shirt is still on. That always snaps Bryan out of spacing out.” She looked at him curiously and noticed that he didn’t seem all there. “Hey, are you feeling ok? You don’t look so well today.”
Chris shrugged, “I feel fine.” Zoey studied him. “Will you stop that,” Chris snapped all of a sudden.
“I didn’t do anything.”
“You’re looking at me like something’s wrong with me.”
“Well excuse me for caring Mr. Grinch,” Zoey said.
Chris sighed, “Sorry, I don’t know why I snapped like that.”
“Don’t worry about it. Maybe you’re tired or something, Jake was the same way on the phone this morning.” Zoey sighed, “Now I need to keep myself from starting fires so I shall go find the fire extinguisher. See you later, oh and I’m sorry that I soaked you.”
Chris smiled faintly then noticed that he was drenched in water.
*****
Chris entered the quiet and dark manor. The Christmas decorations illuminated in the moon light that seeped through the windows. It was now around 10 o’clock at night and he decided that he would research demons and plan more vanquishes. He had to do something to keep from thinking about her. All day long he could not concentrate on what he was doing. So many times he had thought that he had seen her or heard her but he was wrong.
As he walked up the stairs he slid his hand against the railing sliding his hand over the red and green tinsel Paige had put up a few days before. When he reached the top of the stairs he heard the quiet sound of the shower running in the bathroom.
“Christopher,” she whispered in a seductive hypnotic voice.
Chris glanced around but saw no one. “Christopher come to me,” the voice called out again in the same soothing tone.
Chris again glanced around as he slowly made his way down the hall past the linen closet. In the blink of an eye he saw her before him, smiling; her white-blonde hair waving in a gentle breeze that suddenly swept through the hall.
In another blink of an eye she was closer to him. She laughed flirtatiously causing a sensation that he had never felt before run up and down his body.
“Over here.” He turned and saw that she was behind him. But as he turned he knocked over a picture frame that hung on the wall. The frame fell to the hard floor and the glass shattered instantly.
Zoey pulled back the white plastic shower curtain slowly and glanced about. No one was in the bathroom with her. No one was in the house for the sisters were all at the club and Chris was supposed to be working.
She turned to turn down the shower radio and as she did she heard the all too familiar chilling song that caused her blood to run cold. She gasped.
Are the stars out tonight? I don't know if it's cloudy or bright 'cause I only have eyes for you, dear
She hadn’t heard that song since she was with Damien. It had to be a bad omen.
The moon may be high But I can't see a thing in the sky 'cause I only have eyes for you.
Another crash was heard this time coming from somewhere downstairs. She got out of the shower but left the water running. She wrapped herself in a dark blue towel and silently left the bathroom.
I don't know if we're in a garden Or on a crowded avenue
She laughed again. Her laughter made him want her even more. He had followed her down stairs trying to get to her. He wanted to touch her, to kiss her. She beckoned him forward and he went but caused a vase full of lilies and yellow roses to fall crashing to the floor. He didn’t care though, all he wanted was her.
Zoey carefully walked down the hall on guard. The haunting song still within earshot.
You are here, so am I Maybe millions of people go by But they all disappear from view Cause I only have eyes for you
She then turned the corner and crept silently down the stairs. She heard movement coming from conservatory. Slowly, she began to make her way there.
She smiled again then suddenly she was gone. Chris glanced around standing still, hoping that she would come back. But she didn’t. He then heard soft footsteps coming from the back entrance of the conservatory near the kitchen.
Zoey silently crept through the kitchen. A bright green fire ball lit up in her hand even though she didn’t know how to conjure them yet. As she turned the corner she put her hand with the fire ball behind her incase it was a human in the conservatory. She gasped and nearly jumped in the air at the sight of Chris. Her hand clenched, extinguishing the fire ball. Chris gasped too, he had been in a daze following what he thought were the woman’s footsteps.
“Chris, don’t do that!” Zoey exclaimed her voice shaking a bit with fright. Her heart was beating fast and was gradually going back to normal. “What are you doing here?”
“I-I was going to do research,” he said then noticed that she was only in a towel that barely reached her knees. “What are you doing in a towel? Not that I mind.”
“I was taking a shower to get rid of smelling like coffee from working all day. I heard a noise and thought you were a demon or a burglar.”
Chris nodded, “I was just having a klutzy moment-it’s dark. Sorry if I scared you.”
She shuddered, “Who opened a window?”
Chris shrugged and glanced away from his friend.
“I thought we were supposed to go Christmas shopping today,” Zoey said suddenly as she adjusted the towel.
“What? Oh, I- It completely slipped my mind. We can go tomorrow.”
“Don’t worry about it, I went by myself,” she replied a bit annoyed with him. “Well, I’m going to finish my shower so don’t go creeping about the house anymore, k?”
Chris nodded.

Chapter nine
It had been four days now since he last saw her. Everywhere he went, he searched for her face hoping to catch a glimpse of her. Not seeing her was making him crazy. He didn’t eat, he couldn’t sleep. All he wanted was to be with her.
The sisters had noticed a change in him also. He was much more moody and neurotic than usual. Little things set him off into giant outbursts and violent tantrums. Especially anything that Zoey did. She could simply walk into the room and say “hi” and he’d go off on her. He’d yell at her for smiling at him or he’d yell at her for being near him.
He was now sitting alone in the deserted club thinking about the mysterious woman. He was not looking at all well. He was pale and had dark circles under his eyes from the sleepless nights he spent thinking about her and imagining himself with her. His unshaven face gave him the impression of something dark and ill tempered. His eyes also contained a wild look about him when he got angry. Why hadn’t he seen her? He thought to himself.
He heard a feminine laugh coming from the back of the club somewhere.
“Alright,” Zoey said into her silver cell phone as she closed the back door. She smiled, “I’ll see if I can make it. I’ve never been to an album release party. Is it formal or casual?” she laughed again, “You’d like that wouldn’t you?” Again she laughed but her laughter was cut short when she caught sight of Chris. “Shawn I have to go; bye.”
She placed her cell phone into her black and white purse and proceeded cautiously to the counter. Chris watched her every move which made her more uncomfortable. She opened the cash register and began to search through it.
“What are you doing?” he asked tiredly.
“Piper needed me to get her something,” Zoey replied vaguely. She pulled out from the register a couple of business cards and a note pad containing phone numbers and closed the register.
The whole time she kept her eyes lowered, not once did she glance at Chris. She didn’t know why he was acting the way he was and frankly it was reminding her too much of Damien and she wanted nothing to do with it. Jake was the same way only when she went to visit him he was more physically sick than angry.
Zoey glanced quickly at Chris as she walked away. Suddenly she was pulled back by him, “What the hell Chris?”
“Why did you do that?” he demanded loudly, a malicious flicker was in his eye.
“Do what?” Zoey asked as calmly as she could even though she was frightened by his sudden change in mood.
“Don’t play games with me!” he shouted at her. His grip on her wrist tightened until it felt like her bones was being crushed.
“Chris let go of me, you’re hurting me,” she said. Zoey tried to shimmer but couldn’t. She let out a cry of pain as she felt her bones crack. “Let go!”
“Don’t look at me that way again,” Chris warned not listening to Zoey. “She’s the only one for me; I love her. If you get in the way…” he pulled her violently towards him and shook her roughly his body shaking with anger. Tears streamed down Zoey’s face. “Do you understand me?”
He shoved her causing her to smack into the bar counter. Zoey cried out in pain. She had tripped while he shoved her and this caused her to hit the back of her neck on the side of the bar counter. She picked herself up and he had her in his violent grasp again. As if he decided a much better approach to put her in her place, he let go of her and with a flick of his wrist sent her flying into the tables.
Just then the Linhan Shee appeared, more beautiful than ever. “Chris, it’s time,” she said. Her ice blue eyes locked onto his and she held out her hand. Chris was hypnotized. The Linhan Shee looked at Zoey; her once beautiful eyes now flickered with a reddish fire. Her beauty turned to pale, fierce, pure evil. The two materialized out.

Chapter ten
“I’m going to kill him,” Leo said after he finished healing the cut on Zoey’s forehead that she received in the club.
“He’s not himself Leo,” Zoey reasoned. “He didn’t mean it,” she said while he healed her cracked wrist.
“He didn’t mean it?!” Leo exclaimed. “Zoey, I just healed a cut on your head, a cut on your lip and the wrist that he cracked, and you say he didn’t mean it? Let me heal the bruise on your neck.”
Zoey shook her head, “The bruise can heal itself, and he didn’t mean it.”
“She’s right,” Piper said holding Wyatt in her arms. “Something’s been making him act this way.”
“Well we should check the book to figure out what this creature is,” Paige said.
“You think it’s the same one from the club?” Phoebe asked.
“It has to be,” Piper confirmed. “This all started after that night.”
Zoey nodded in agreement, “Leo, do you think you can check up on Jake? He’s the same way only he’s extremely sick and his parents are worried.”
“No problem,” Leo replied and orbed out.
****
“Well, well, look who we have here,” the old warlock with pale blue eyes said as Cole entered the lair. “Balthazar, it’s nice to see you.”
“Who are you?” Cole demanded looking at the old warlock with suspicious eyes.
The warlock smiled, “Some one who knows why you are here. To kill the council, am I correct?”
Cole lit an energy ball but before he could do anything a force knocked him off his feet. Something tightened around his neck like and invisible hand trying to restrict his breathing. The old warlock laughed, hadn’t even moved once. “Did you think it would be that easy?”
The grasp around Cole’s neck disappeared and Cole coughed as he picked himself up. “Who are you?” he asked again.
The warlock smiled, “Have you ever heard of the Ancients?”
Cole laughed, “You expect me to believe that you’re an Ancient? That you were one of the first of magical creatures? Newsflash old man, the Ancients were killed in the Battle of the Greats.”
“Well not all,” the warlock said. “Just those except me died.”
Cole looked at the warlock skeptically. “Your disbelief is not uncommon,” the warlock continued. “But I’ve watched you; I’ve had my eye on you for a long time. I’m the reason why you’re here.”
“I found my own way out of the spirit realm,” Cole clarified.
“I meant why you’re here, in this lair.”
“I highly doubt that.”
“You once made the Underworld quiver before you as the Source; I can make that happen for you again. If you do some things for me.”
Cole looked at him with keen interest. “I’m listening.”
****
“Well she’s not in the Book of Shadows,” Paige said closing the book and leaning back on the sofa.
“How are we going to stop her if we don’t know what we’re up against?” Phoebe asked as she rubbed the temples of her head.
“I don’t know,” Piper said closing another book. “But she’s not in here either.”
The three sisters sighed then Zoey shimmered in. “I found her!” she announced showing a big brown leather bound book.
“What’s that?” Phoebe asked.
“An Irish Mythology and Folklore book,” Zoey replied flipping rapidly through the pages. “Jake’s parents gave to me as an early Christmas gift. It has information on fairies, leprechauns, banshees and our Linhan Shee.”
“A what-a-what?” Paige said.
“A Linhan Shee,” Zoey repeated pointing to the page containing an illustration of a beautiful woman. “The Linhan Shee, or ‘love fairy’,” Zoey read, “Seeks love and dominion over men. If men refuse her then she is forced to become their slave, but if they don’t refuse her they become her slave.”
“So we’re up against a fairy?” Piper said. “This should be easy.”
“Not so fast,” Zoey said. “It says here that she is more force than she is woman meaning she is barely even something that can be killed. Also the men who long for her will do anything to have her. The more suffering they go through by not being with her, the more they want to. They’ll destroy whatever obstacles that lie in their way. The obsession continues on until the desire the hold for her eventually destroys them.”
A silence fell between the four witches. “That means that not only will we be fighting the Linhan Shee, but we’ll also be fighting Chris,” Piper said.
“Does it say what happens to the men under her spell after she dies?” Phoebe asked.
Zoey shook her head ‘no.’
“I assume that they’d die,” Paige said. “I mean, in a way they are connected to her through their desire to be with her.”
“I can’t lose Jake or Chris,” Zoey said.
“We don’t have much of a choice. We’ll have to hope for the best.”
End of chapter ten

Chapter eleven
Cole smiled at the sight of the suffering young white lighter. “Good job, it’s more than I expected,” he said to the Linhan Shee.
The Linhan Shee smiled, “And soon he’ll be mine forever.”
Chris rushed towards Cole but Cole grabbed a firm hold of him. “Easy there lover boy, you’ll have her soon enough. Now answer this, why did you come back from the future?”
Chris hesitated then glanced at the Linhan Shee. She nodded with approval and he looked at Cole again. “Wyatt,” he muttered. “Wyatt will become evil and be ruler of the entire world of magic. Every one will fear his name.”
Cole smiled nastily, “Oh really?”
Just then Paige, Phoebe, Piper and Zoey orbed into the lair. “Oh my god!” Phoebe exclaimed at the sight of Cole.
Cole smiled, “And we meet again.” He laughed, “Piper how’s that son of yours?”
“You son of a-”
Cole raised a hand, “Ah-ah-ah, listen to this. You’re going to love it, I know you will. Chris, tell me again why you came back from the future?”
The Linhan Shee looked at Chris.
“Wyatt will become evil; he will kill and become ruler over the magical world.”
“You seemed shocked Piper,” Cole said. “I can assure you though that he’s in fact telling the truth. See he wants to be with this beautiful woman right here and after all, he will speak the truth when asked if he wants to get with her.”
“Attack them,” the Linhan Shee ordered.
Chris swung his arm and caused the four witches to fly across the lair. Both the Linhan Shee and Chris charged at them.
Piper raised her hands to blow the Linhan Shee up but it didn’t work. The Linhan Shee attacked her fiercely, scratching Piper with her razor like nails.
Paige and Phoebe were trying to distract the Linhan Shee but she was too much for them.
In the mean while Chris rounded on Zoey.
“Chris stop. I don’t want to hurt you,” Zoey said glancing around and noticing that he was trying to corner her. Chris swung his fist towards her but she blocked it then dropped kicked him in the stomach sending him stumbling backwards. “It doesn’t mean I won’t though.”
Chris picked himself up and glared maliciously at Zoey. “You stupid little @#%$! You can’t get in the way; I won’t let anyone keep me from being with her.” He charged at Zoey.
Zoey flicked her wrist but instead of wind she got water. Her hand suddenly became as cold as ice and she touched the ground with an idea. The ground soon froze and the top layer became a thick sheet of ice. Chris’ feet shot up from beneath him and he fell hard on the icy ground. He got up to his knees trying to find some sort of balance to keep from falling again.
“Paige now!” Piper yelled.
Paige morphed into the Linhan Shee. “Chris,” she called out.
Chris turned confused to see two of her.
“Kill them the Linhan Shee ordered, her beauty overcome with rage.
“She’s an imposter,” Paige said. “Kill her Chris; she wants to prevent us from being together.”
Chris attacked the Linhan Shee; Paige orbed an atheme into his hand. Chris struck it straight through the Linhan Shee’s stomach. She screamed an ear piercing scream and combusted into a bright ray of red light. Chris fell to the ground.
Zoey ran up to him, “Leo!”
Phoebe glanced around the lair. Cole was nowhere to be seen.
*****
Piper looked down at her sleeping son as he slept. The nursery was dark and the only light was that from the moon which shined in through the window, and the night light glowing faintly against the wall.
“He’s going to be fine,” Leo said softly as he entered the room. Piper sighed, “How do we know that? We just found out that our son will become evil. How could Chris not tell us?”
“He won’t be evil,” Leo said looking down at the slumbering child with warm loving eyes. “He has you and your sisters. You three are the purest of good and he’s got me too. We’ll be ok; he’ll be ok.”
Piper smiled, “I hope your right.”
*****
The city lights shone brightly below Chris. He was sitting up on the tower of the Golden Gate Bridge. He always came here, it was a great place to just escape and get lost in thought. The cool air was refreshing to him and chilled his skin. He felt like a fool. Luckily Jenna didn’t remember the Linhan Shee or how he had acted while under her thrall.
He remembered though. All of it, especially how he had treated Zoey. Every time he thought about it, he grew angrier at himself for doing what he did to her. When she was with Damien he hated all the things he did to her. She didn’t deserve that and now he had contributed to that pain. He was still thinking about this when Zoey shimmered in.
She looked around wide eyed with a large purse in her hand. “Oh my goodness! This is high. When the crystal said the bridge I didn’t think it meant up here. Oh wow that’s a long way down.”
“Zoey what are you doing here?” Chris asked.
“Looking for you and freaking out about the height? Can people see me? How come the wind is knocking me over…not that I would want to be knocked over. That would suck, I mean, that would cause a big old accident and be messy to clean up.”
Chris helped her climb up to a spot near him where he was sitting. “You shouldn’t be here,” he said. “If Piper found out-”
“Yeah well, you should know by now that I have a habit of breaking the rules. Wow, this view is amazing. I should’ve brought my camera.”
Chris looked away from her, “How can you act like nothing’s happened? I don’t understand it. You should be hating me and not wanting to speak to me.”
“Why?” Zoey asked looking at him curiously.
“For the way I treated you. I hurt you-” his eyes caught sight of the deep black and blue bruise on the back of her neck which was visible since she wore her hair in a sloppy bun. He gently touched her neck and she let out a small gasp. “Zoey, I’m so sorry. I never-”
“Chris you weren’t yourself,” Zoey said. “Besides, I’m fine.” He gave her a look.
“But still, I can’t see how you can forgive me when I can’t even forgive myself for what I did to you.”
She turned towards him, her big brown eyes locked onto his. “Like I said, you weren’t yourself. Now no more beating yourself up about this, ok?” she pulled out two thermoses out of her bag and handed him one. She then pulled out a pink plastic container full of sugar cookies cut into Christmas trees, candy canes, stars and snowmen. “Hot Chocolate and cookies. I also brought you some of the left over turkey and mash potatoes to take home with you. Merry Christmas Christopher.” She held up a gift wrapped in beautiful red wrapping paper, “Open it when you get home.”
He smiled faintly, guilt stinging him with every smile she gave him and everything that she had done for him.
Zoey slipped her hand into his, “Don’t worry about the sisters. They’ll come around again. Give it some time.” She squeezed his hand gently then removed it and stared back out at the view.
Chris smiled faintly and looked out at the view as well.
