Chapter one

“I think that’s a bit harsh, don’t you?” Leo said.

The graying elder sighed heavily. “You know as well as I do Leo, this cannot happen.

“Yes but-”<br>
“No buts,” the elder interrupted as he began to pace the white sanctuary where others like him lived. From up here they saw all and knew all. This place allowed them to be the eyes and judges of the magical world. “So many things are put at risk,” the elder continued. He stopped pacing and turned to look at the green elder who’s expression was of both sympathy and anger. “It could ruin everything: the timeline- all of it could be ruined. The two cannot fall in love. Never.”<br>
“How can you tell me to do this?” Leo exclaimed. “It would hurt her, I can’t.”<br>
“But you must,” the elder said firmly. “It’s time you start acting the part of an elder and less of a father towards her. If it is not done then we will have no choice to take action.”<br>

The club was packed full of people. The band on stage continued to sing as the couples on the dance floor danced along in each others’ arms. Zoey smiled up at Chris as the two continued dancing. It had been two weeks since all the commotion caused by the resurrection of Damien and the Ancient’s fall from power. In the two weeks after she gladly was renounced her title as Queen of the Underworld, she had a great time. She and Chris had finally pursued their relationship and she had just graduated out of high school just two hours ago.

“When are you leaving?” Chris asked.

“Two weeks from today,” Zoey replied. “I’ll be back on August first.”<br>
Chris nodded. “You’re going to love Europe,” he said with a smile.

Zoey kissed him. “You’re going to visit me at least once, right?”<br>
Chris shrugged. “Nah, I was thinking that you’ll live with out a visit from me.”<br>
Zoey laughed.

“But then again you might miss my charming good looks,” he said with a sly smile as he pulled her closer to him.

“What charming good looks?” Zoey teased. The two laughed.

“I will visit you at least once,” Chris said. “But for now, let’s just focus on the time we have up until then.”<br>
Zoey smiled, “Meaning?”<br>
“Meaning that I want to take you out to dinner tomorrow night. But tonight…”

“Tonight what?”<br>
Chris smiled, “Well I don’t have any plans, do you?”<br>
Zoey smiled and kissed his lips.

“I don’t think I heard you correctly,” he teased. Zoey laughed and beckoned him with her fore finger to lean in. She kissed him passionately.

“Hey, keep it PG-13,” Jake teased from next to them, where he was dancing with his date.

Zoey was shocked to find his arms wrapped around Tina. Tina smiled, “I know, right?” she said in reply to the look Zoey gave her.

Zoey nodded and turned her attention back to Chris.

“Chris,” Leo said approaching them.

“Leo, what’s up?” Chris asked.

“I need your help with some charges.”<br>
Chris glanced at Zoey.

“I’ll see you when you get back,” she said. Chris smiled and kissed her goodbye.

Chapter two

Wyatt giggled from his place on the carpet in Piper’s room. It was the next day and Piper was playing with his toy trucks and having a good time. Zoey knocked on Piper’s door before entering the room.

“Hey there little guy,” she said with a big smile.

“Hello Zoey,” he said with one of his cute smiles.

Zoey laughed. “You know my name now. You’re so cute! Give me five buddy.” She held her hand out to him and Wyatt slapped her hand with his.

“Yeah, I think it’s better than Bowie,” Piper said with a smile. Wyatt had taken a real liking to Zoey ever since she started living with them. She had never seen him act that way towards any other person who was not in the family.

“Well it was cool that he thought me to be a rock ‘n’ roll legend.”<br>
Piper laughed. “So are you off to see Chris?”<br>
“NO, work actually. I was just letting you know that I’ll be pulling a double shift today.”<br>
Piper nodded. “So, how’s it going with Chris? You two are really tight lipped about your relationship.”<br>
“Did I hear the word relationship?” Paige asked as she and Phoebe entered the room.

“Ooh, girl talk,” Phoebe said taking a seat on the bed. “Count me in.”<br>
“I would hardly call it girl talk,” Zoey said. “With you three it’s more like let’s talk about Zoey’s love life.”<br>
“Oh come on,” Paige said. “It’s what sisters do and you’re part of that no matter how annoying it can be.”<br>
Zoey smiled, “You think of me as a sister?”<br>
“Yeah, of course,” Phoebe said. “All though Piper is more like the mother.”<br>
Piper smiled, “But I like to think myself as the young, hip, mother-type. That’s beside the point.”<br>
“Fine, what do you want to know?” Zoey gave in.

“Well, for starters,” Paige said. “How is the new love life?”<br>
“It’s going great. He’s amazing as always; it’s actually not that different from before, just, I get to kiss him now.”<br>
“Speaking of which,” Phoebe said, “You two were pretty cuddly at the club last night.”<br>
“What are you trying to say?” Zoey asked carefully.

“Well, you know,” Phoebe said.

“What she’s trying to say is, have you two…you know?” Paige clarified.

“That’s private,” Zoey said.

“Oh come on,” Paige said. “How else are we supposed to live vicariously through you- or how am I seeing as Phoebe is engaged and Leo and Piper are together again?”<br>
“This is interesting coming from someone who was against me partaking in that a couple of months ago.”<br>
“She has a point,” Piper said.

“Alright, alright,” Paige said. “Now I change my mind…a little. It’s not like she was going to listen to me anyways.”<br>
Zoey smiled. “The answer is no; but he’s cool with that. I told him I was still getting over the shock of my ex marrying me. So right now I like just holding hands and kissing. It’s fun.”<br>

Chris ducked behind a large boulder, just escaping the path of an energy ball. “I thought you said one water demon not two water demons and a leech.”<br>
“I’m just finding this out myself,” Leo said sending a blue-white energy ball over the boulder. “What matters is freeing the girl. She’s a white lighter to be.”<br>
“Maybe we should get Zoey. She can fend off the water demons and we can get the girl,” Chris suggested as he telepathically sent a hot water ball back.

“NO,” Leo said. “We can handle this. Water particles separate when struck by electricity.”<br>
“Well if you haven’t noticed, the leech is hip to that plan,” Chris argued. “The more we throw at him the more we give him the power to kill us.”<br>
“We can handle it on our own,” Leo repeated firmly. “Cover me.”<br>
Chris let out a sigh of frustration and then got up and deflected several energy balls with a flick of the wrist.

Zoey was sleeping peacefully on her bed when Chris orbed into the basement. He smiled as he noticed her hand still held onto her copy of The Scarlet Letter. It had taken him and Leo quite a while to free the girl, then immediately following that, the two checked up on almost ten other charges. It was now near eleven-thirty at night. Chris walked over and carefully picked the book out of her hand. Zoey opened her eyes which were still heavy with sleep.

“Hey,” she said groggily.

“Hey,” he whispered. “Sorry about tonight; I got caught up with work.”<br>
“It’s alright,” she replied quietly.

“How was your day?” he asked as he took her hand in his.

“Boring; I had to pull a double shift at the coffee house. I got home around eight. And yours?”<br>
“The usual; demon hunts.”<br>
Zoey smiled and pulled down the sheets. Chris kicked off his shoes and climbed into bed with her.

Zoey snuggled up next to him and closed her eyes. “This is nice,” she said sleepily.

“Yeah, it is.” He kissed her hair. “Good night.”<br>
“Good night.”<br>

Chapter three

“Zoey,” Piper said as she came down the basement stairs. Zoey walked out from behind the room divider where she had been getting dressed. She put her finger to her lips and pointed to where Chris lay still asleep on the bed. Piper mouthed the word “Oh” and the two headed up the stairs.

“I didn’t know he stayed the night,” Piper said walking over to the cabinet and pulling out a plate. She filled the plate with pancakes and eggs.

“Yeah, you don’t mind do you?” Zoey asked as she poured herself some orange juice. “Nothing happened if that’s what you’re wondering. He just spent the night that’s all.”<br>
“Well, if he just spent then night then I guess that’s fine.”<br>
Zoey smiled, “Thank you,” she said taking the plate of food out of Piper’s hand.

“So about what time did he come over?” Piper asked curiously then took a sip of her coffee.

“I’m not sure, around eleven-thirty? Look Piper if you don’t approve of his staying the night just tell me. I won’t mind.”<br>
Piper shook her head, “No it’s fine, just as long as nothing happens between you two. You’re still a teenager in this house. Besides, I think it’s kind of cute.”<br>
“What is?” Phoebe asked as she entered the kitchen and began piling good onto a plate.

“Chris and Zoey. Don’t you cook breakfast at yours and Jason’s apartment?”<br>
“Sometimes, but I forgot to go shopping. Oh, pancakes!”<br>Piper shook her head.

“Good morning,” Chris said, patting down his hair as he entered the kitchen.

“Good morning indeed,” Phoebe said with a this-is-interesting look. Piper nudged her sister in the side.

Zoey poured some coffee into a mug and handed it to Chris. “Morning,” she said with a sweet smile and kissed his lips.

Chris smiled and took the coffee mug from her, “Good morning,” he said then kissed her lips longer this time.

Piper and Phoebe glanced at each other and smiled awkwardly. Piper cleared her throat.

Zoey smiled, “Sorry.”<br>
Just then Leo orbed into the kitchen. “Chris, what are you doing here this early?”<br>
“Good morning to you to Leo,” Chris said.

Leo eyed him suspiciously. “Well, it’s good that you’re here, I have some errands that I need you to run.”<br>
“Actually Leo, I was kind of hoping to take Zoey out to lunch.”<br>
“Zoey, you can take a rein check, right?” Leo said.

“Um-”<br>
“Good,” Leo said. “It’s settled then.”<br>
Chris sighed, “I’ve got to go clean up first.” He kissed Zoey’s cheek, “Dinner, seven-thirty?”<br>
She smiled, “It’s a date.” She kissed his lips and he orbed out mid-kiss. “Does he think I like that?”<br>
Piper laughed, “I know what you mean.”<br>
“He spent the night?” Leo said incredously.

“They just slept nothing more,” Piper said.

“You let this happen?”<br>
“Hey, I just found out.”<br>
“I’m telling the truth,” Zoey insisted. “Besides, it’s none of your concern.”<br>
Leo sighed, “We’ll discuss this later.”<br>
“There’s nothing to disgust,” Zoey said coldly.

“Yes there is,” Leo said firmly.

“No, there isn’t.”<br>
“Look, like I said before, you and he can’t be together.”<br>
Zoey glared at him, “What is your problem Leo? He’s a good guy and you approve of him.”<br>
“I never said that.”<br>
“It doesn’t matter; he makes me feel good about myself. I’m happy right now, it’s been a long time since I felt this way and damn it, I like it.”<br>
Leo sighed, “What happens when he accomplishes what he came here to do? He’ll have to go back to the future. What then?”<br>
Zoey glared at him and went to her room slamming the door behind her.

Chapter four

Phoebe was busily typing up her column; her face was scrunched up with frustration as she read her article as she typed. She had fallen a little behind with the vanquishing of the Ancient and all. Also, she couldn’t help thinking about Cole. Why was he back? Was he still evil? Did he really help out of the goodness of his heart? Did he even have a heart? Her train of thought was interrupted by a knock at her door.

“Paige, what are you doing here? Here is everything alright?”<br>Paige shrugged. “I’m not sure,” she replied closing the door behind her. “All I can say is that there’s some serious magic in the air.”<br>
“What do you mean?”<br>
“Well you know how my current job is at that Gypsy shop on Market Street?”<br>
“Uh-huh.”<br>
“Well, Anna- the owner- and I did a tarot card reading and it doesn’t’ look good in the near future.”<br>
“Paige, it’s just a tarot card reading, it might not mean anything that serious. Sometimes the readings can be misreading.

“No Phoebe, it wasn’t an ordinary reading. Look.” She took out some old tarot cards and placed them down on Phoebe’s desk. “This is the exact order that they came in all three shuffles.” She pointed to a card that showed a picture of a man and a woman embraced in each others arms.

“The lovers,” she then pointed to a card that showed a gust of wind. “An element- what I got from this was something that has to do with Zoey.”

She then pointed to a card with a picture of a judge seated on a throne with a sword in one hand and a set of scales in the other. “Justice, but this card was found upside down which mean that a decision will be made that is unfair and over the top. And lastly the five of cups which was pulled right side up and means that there will be a loss and lots of grief mixed with bitterness.”<br>
Phoebe sighed, “What do you think this has to do with?”<br>
“I don’t know, the major activity coming from the underworld.”<br>
“What activity?” Phoebe asked.

Paige sighed, “Have you been listening to the news or reading the newspaper at all? You do work at one for crying out loud. There’s been a lot of demonic activity lately. Mysterious disappearances, odd weapons found at the scene of the crime. Darryl is going nuts trying to figure out what’s going on.”<br>
Phoebe nodded as her sister talked then glanced at the clock. “Sweetie, I know you’re concerned but can’t you pass this information onto Piper instead? I’m really swamped here.”<br>
“Phoebe this is important.”<br>
“Yeah, I know, but so is keeping my job.”<br>
Paige sighed. “Fine.”<br>

“Ok, how about this?” Zoey asked walking across the attic to Paige. Paige looked up from the map she was marking on. “Man found in back alley with strange marking on his face. Police believe the cuts must be the markings of some gang initiation.” Zoey turned her laptop so that Paige could see the picture. “The markings belong to the Imari Clan, a group of horned demons that “bless” their sacrifices with a series of angular cuts before actually sacrificing them.”<br>
Paige nodded, “Alright, and where was this?”<br>
“On Mission and 24th,” Zoey replied.

Paige found Mission and 24th on the map of San Francisco and marked it with a red dot.

“Any pattern yet?” Zoey asked leaning in to get a better view of the map.

Paige shook her head, “No, not yet. I think we’re going to need a bit more information, the kind that we could only get by trapping one of these demons.”<br>
“Or by asking a powerful figure directly.”<br>
Paige shook her head. “No, I don’t think so. Are you keeping in touch with him?”<br>
“Of course not,” Zoey replied quickly.

[Nite Owl]

Zoey laughed as she and Chris entered his apartment. “I never knew you could salsa dance,” she said tucking strand of hair behind her ear. She then adjusted the red knee length flowy skirt she wore.

Chris smiled, “Learn something new everyday, huh? Are you thirsty? I actually went to and bought something other than coke. I am now the proud owner of fruit punch courtesy of those kool- aid packs.”<br>
Zoey laughed, “What would humans do with out Kool- Aid? No thanks, I’m fine.”<br>
Chris nodded and sat beside her on the couch. Zoey smiled and kissed his lips once. “I like this idea,” he said and kissed her back passionately. He leaned her back onto the couch and continued to kiss her.


“They’re on a date Leo,” Piper said as she watched the love of her life pace the attic impatiently.

“It doesn’t matter, our job comes first.”<br>
Piper gave him a look. “Excuse me, since when have you gone by that rule?”<br>
“Since now.”<br>
“Leo come on,” Paige said. “If this was a date of your own, I’m sure you wouldn’t want to be pulled from it to go search for some mystical herb.”<br>
“Paige, the aconite is needed by a charge of mine. Chris!”<br>
Chris and Zoey orbed into the attic not looking too happy. “Yes Leo?” Chris asked a bit testily.

“I need your assistance with some errands.”<br>
Chris nodded and the two orbed out.

Zoey let out a sigh.

“Aww, is someone not getting any?” Paige teased.

Zoey glared at her. “Every time we come close, something always comes up. A charge needs help, a demon needs vanquishing.”<br>
“Oh someone’s a bit sexually frustrated,” Piper said with a slight laugh.

Chapter five

“How about tonight then?” Jason asked as he massaged his fiancé’s neck and shoulders.

Phoebe smiled, “Tonight sounds good.” She laughed.

“What’s so funny?”<br>
“Have you noticed that that we’ve rarely spent time together since we’ve been engaged?”<br>
Jason smiled, “That’s true.”<br>
Phoebe turned to face him, “We need to spend time with each other Jason. Alone time. I mean, we’re getting married and with marriage comes planning: like the wedding.”<br>
Jason nodded, “I agree. We should spend time together. Just the two of us.”<br>
Phoebe nodded, “We need to get away for a while. No work, no magic, and definitely no demon hunting.”<br>
“What about your sisters?”<br>
“They can reach me if it’s an emergency, but they’ll understand where I’m coming from.”<br>

Cole entered the old, run down office. The desk and chair were the only furniture there. Each was covered in a thick layer of dust. A couple of cobwebs were set up in the corners of the room. Cole looked around the dirty place. “It’ll do.”<br>
“Do for what?” Zoey asked as she spun the chair around to face him.

Cole smiled, “What are you doing here?”<br>
Zoey got up out of the chair, “Well, I never got a chance to thank you for helping me so thank you.”<br>
Cole nodded, “What no fruit basket?”<br>
Zoey smiled, “It must have slipped my mind.”<br>
“So I take it things are going well for you?”<br>
“I would say the same for you, but, what do you need an office like this for?”<br>
“I’m thinking of going back into law,” he replied watching her carefully.

Zoey nodded, “You are a good arguer; you can be very…persistent. The only question is what kind of firm? Good or evil?”<br>
He laughed, “We’re not partners anymore so I can’t go around telling you all of my little secrets, now can I?”<br>
“Perfectly understandable. I need some information. As you might have heard, there’s a lot of demonic activity going on.”<br>
“And you and the sisters are concerned that the underworld is being reorganized.”<br>
“What do you know?”<br>
Cole smiled, “Only that now with the Ancient gone, along with you, demons are seizing their opportunity to catch up on all they’ve missed out in the past several months.”<br>
“And the Council? I never heard what happened to them.”<br>
“Killed by the Ancient and yours truly.”<br>
Zoey studied him for a moment. “Thank you, and Cole, don’t do something that you’re going to regret. You may be uber powerful but that doesn’t mean I can’t kick you ass.”<br>
Cole smiled at her, “Are you in need of a job? I could use your feistiness in the office.”<br>
“I already have a job.” She shimmered out.

Zoey opened the door. “Chris- this is weird.”<br>
“Yeah, I’m a rebel. I wanted to try something new. Is Paige here?” he asked as he entered the manor.

“No, she said she was going on some errands,” Zoey replied. “Why?”<br>
“I needed to give her the ingredients that she sent me for.”<br>
Zoey nodded, “Well I’ll give them to her when she gets in.”<br>
“So, are the others here?”<br>
“No, Piper took Wyatt for a check up and Phoebe’s at work.”

Zoey paused and smiled. “In fact, we have the whole house to our selves.”<br>
“We do, don’t we?” he said stepping closer to her.

She kissed his neck then his cheek and his chin. She made to kiss his lips but stopped and with a playful smile she stepped back. Chris smiled and grabbed her and picked her up over his shoulder.

“No Chris,” she said with a laugh, “Put me down.”<br>
He carried her out of the living room and down to her room.

[Nite Owl]

“Zoey, I found out some more- oh!” Paige covered her eyes with her hand.

“Paige!” Zoey said buttoning back up her pale purple blouse. Chris put his shirt back on.

“Ok, well, I’m going to leave,” Chris said. Zoey nodded and he orbed out.

“Sorry,” Paige said.

Zoey smiled embarrassed. “What were you saying?”<br>
“I-I was just saying how I found some more info that might help.”<br>
“I did too,” Zoey said. “I found out that the demons are in a way, liberated since the Ancient was vanquished.”<br>
“Which means, they’re killing because they haven’t been able to. It makes sense- in a way. How did you figure this out?”<br>
“A guess,” Zoey lied. “I mean, I got to- ah screw it. I talked to Cole.”<br>
“Zoey!”<br>
“I know, I know, but I had to. We need to keep in touch with him. He can be a very valuable resource; we can use him a liaison to the happenings in the underworld.”<br>
Paige sighed, “I don’t know. Cole isn’t someone we can trust.”<br>

So....close....ARGH!

Come on Leo. Go against the Elders for once. You know all about the forbidden lovers thing, so cut Chris and Zoey some slack, for crying out loud! Haven't they been through enough?

The tarot reading has me really worried for these two star-crossed lovers. Sigh.

And what is Cole up to? Always an interesting question.

Chapter six

The airport was busy and full of people rushing about getting their luggage checked and confirming their flights. Outside the air was cool and the noise of the small white jet filled everyone’s ears.

“That’s everything,” a woman announced above the loud noise of the jet.

Jason nodded and turned to his fiancé. “Ready?”<br>
Phoebe nodded in confirmation.

“Call us to let us know that you made it safely,” Piper said and hugged her sister.

Phoebe smiled, “I will; I promise.”<br>
“I’m expecting a present when you come back,” Paige teased wrapping her fair arms around her sister. Phoebe laughed then turned to Zoey.

“Maybe I’ll see you in Paris,” Zoey said then hugged her. “Have a good trip.”<br>
“Take care of her Jason,” Piper said.

Jason smiled, “I will; have a good summer.”<br>
“Bye!” Phoebe said to her family as she turned and began to board the jet.

Phoebe sat down in a seat next to the window and smiled at her soon to be husband. Jason smiled back at her and kissed her lips.

“Please fasten your seatbelts and prepare for departure,” the captain’s voice came from over the intercom.

Phoebe held Jason’s hand in hers. “Finally we’re going to have some alone time.”<br>
Jason smiled, “Yeah, it’s nice for a change, huh?”<br>

Chris kissed Zoey again. It was the next night and so far there had been no interruptions and everything was going great. The two had gone out to dinner and dancing and were now at his apartment. Zoey smiled and kissed him back. As she continued to kiss him she unbuttoned the dark green collar shirt he was wearing and took it off of him. Chris laid her back onto the bed and continued to kiss her. His lips broke away from her lips and went to her neck and collar bone. At the same time his hand slid the straps of her spaghetti strapped top off her shoulders. Zoey directed his kiss back to her lips and he pulled away for a moment.

“What is it?” she asked looking up at him.

“Do you hear that?”<br>
“Hear what?”<br>
“Exactly, nothing.” Zoey laughed and pulled his face to hers.

Piper smiled as she gazed into the mirror. She placed a hand on her lower stomach. Leo orbed in behind her.

“Hey Piper,” he said and kissed her on the lips. She smiled and kissed him back.

“Leo, there’s something that I have to tell you.”<br>
Leo smiled faintly. “Piper, can’t it wait? I need to get a hold of Chris.”<br>
Piper took his hands in hers. “Leo, I’m pregnant.”<br>
Leo smiled brightly, “We’re going to have another child?”<br>
Piper nodded while smiling. “Yeah, Wyatt’s going to have a little brother or sister.”<br>
Leo felt her lower stomach, “How long?”<br>
Piper shrugged, “A month? I’ve made an appointment with the doctor for later on this week.”<br>
Leo smiled and kissed her.



“Oh Piper, I’m so happy for you!” Paige said then took a sip of her coffee.

“I am too,” Piper said with a warm smile.

“Does Phoebe know yet?”<br>
“No, I’m planning on telling her in a little bit.”<br>
“This is so exciting,” Paige continued. “Wyatt’s going to be a big brother. Oh, we’re going to have to fix up the nursery.”<br>
Piper smiled. Just then Leo orbed in with a grim expression on his face. “Leo, what’s wrong?” Piper asked getting up off the couch and walking over to him.

“Where are Zoey and Chris?”<br>
“I don’t know, I haven’t heard from them since last night,” Piper replied. “What’s going on Leo, you’re scaring us.”<br>
Leo sighed, “The elders wish to have a word with them.”<br>
“About what?” Paige asked not concerned.

Laughter came from the hall and soon Chris and Zoey entered the second living room.

“Oh Piper, we picked up some bagels and coffee,” Zoey said setting down the packages. “You know, snacks for the research. Hey Leo.”<br>
Leo turned to the young couple. “The elders want to talk to you both.”<br>
“What for?” Chris asked curiously.

“It’s about the two of you. We have to go now.”<br>
“What about us?” Chris demanded.

Leo sighed. “You know exactly what. I tried to keep you apart but now they’re going to deal with you.”<br>
“What? We didn’t-”<br>
An impatient jingle came from above.

“Look, we need to go,” Leo said and with a wave of his hand he orbed the two out.

“Leo, what’s going to happen to them?” Piper asked.

“Nothing, if I can help it.” He orbed out.

I like it alot!!! I'm suprised that Leo thinks ((for once)) that he is going to do something about it!!!

I really like the dynamic between Zoey and Chris, alot!

Wow, thank you guys so much for all of the lovely replies. and now here is the conclusion to my season six

Chapter seven

Zoey looked around the large white sanctuary. A patch of fog rolled along their feet and the place was quiet even though it was full of people in white hooded robes walking about with their arms crossed in front of their chest. She wondered where she was. She knew that she was where the elders were, the sacred “up there” as it was know on earth, but did this place exist in the real world or another realm?

Chris held firmly onto her hand, determined not to let her leave his side. He didn’t like this one bit.

“Chris, what’s going on?” Zoey whispered as she continued to glance around.

“I don’t know, but don’t worry.”<br>
She squeezed his hand gently.

Leo orbed in. “Have they said anything?”<br>
Chris shook his head, “No, they’ve been standing there this whole time talking to each other.”<br>
A couple of seconds after he had said this, two elders came up to them. “Come with us girl,” one said taking hold of Zoey’s arm.

“No, Chris!” Zoey said trying to pull away from the elder.

“Get off of her!” Chris yelled but was pulled in another direction by the second elder.

“What the hell is going on here?” Leo demanded.

“You’ve done your part Leo, now the rest is up to us,” an old elder said.

“I’m an elder too,” Leo reminded.

“Yes, but in this case your vote does not count since you are more of a father to the girl. You are dismissed.”<br>
“Leo, help me,” Zoey said.

“Zoey, don’t worry,” he shouted after her.

Soon she disappeared behind a cloud of white fog. Chris was gone also.



Chris stood in a small white room which resembled a court room, only there was no table for him to sit at and no benches for an audience. Instead there were benches built up into the wall where the elders sat on both sides of him and in the front of him. They sat there with their eyes fixed on his every movement, recording mentally the facial features he displayed and the air about him.

“Now, you know why you are here,” the old elder who had been talking to Leo said. “Do you not, Christopher Perry?”<br>
Chris remained silent. He was worried about Zoey. Why had they separated them?

“Why did you come back from the future?” the elder continued.

“To protect Wyatt,” Chris said quietly.

“In doing so, you know that it changes the timeline for the better,” the elder continued. “But you do know that other things affect the time line as well. Even your very coming back from the future has brought unexpected changes.”<br>The elder waved his hand and a hologram appeared before Chris in the center of the room. Chris looked at it and recognized the exact time immediately.

He was standing in the living room with Piper, Paige and Phoebe.

“What’s wrong with Zoey?” Phoebe asked.

“We almost got killed in a fun house,” Chris replied.

“What?”<br>
“We’re fine though,” Chris said quickly. “It’s just, I’m not sure how well she is.”<br>
“Meaning what?” Piper asked.

“Well, whatever attacked us knew things, about me, about the future.”<br>
“So you’re saying something came from the future?” Paige said. “I thought that’s not possible since you brought back the time travel spell.”<br>
“I don‘t know how it got here but that doesn’t matter. What matters is that it told her things.”<br>
“What kind of things?” Phoebe asked. “Chris?”<br>
Chris sighed. “It told her that she’s not supposed to be here; see, the history books didn’t mention Zoey under your care. In my time, she never lived with you.”<br>
“So what are you saying? That she didn’t exist?” Paige said.

“No, she did exist just-”<br>
“Spill it out Chris,” Piper said impatiently.

“In my time history shows that you weren’t able to sway here to our side, instead she chose the path of evil. Eventually she and Alastor became rulers of the underworld.”<br>

The Elder waved his hand and the hologram disappeared.

Chris stared icily at the elders. “What does that have to do with anything?”<br>
“It’s an example of how things changed. In this case it was for the best.” The eyes of the other elders watched Chris carefully, their eyes never leaving him. “You also know that getting close to someone can drastically change the future right?”<br>
“Yes, but-”<br>
“Did you or didn’t you consider this when you began your relationship with that girl?”<br>
“Yes; I-”<br>
“Then why did you start it in the first place?”<br>
“I tried not to,” Chris confessed.

Suddenly a hologram appeared. It was of him and Zoey inside Piper’s office at the club on Valentine’s Day. Zoey was crying.

She wiped away tears that streamed down her face. “I just don’t know what’s wrong with me, why every guy I let get close to me has to hurt me. Why can’t I have a normal relationship without getting hurt?”<br>
Chris wiped away her tears with his thumbs. “Nothing’s wrong with you. Those guys are creeps, that’s all.”<br>
“I’m just tired of getting hurt all the time,” Zoey said. She smiled faintly, “Look at me, I’m a mess. I’m sorry for laying this all on you.”<br>
Chris smiled faintly and looked into her eyes as he continued to wipe away her tears. He leaned in then and kissed her forehead, then kissed her lips gently. Zoey pulled him closer to her and kissed him back full of passion yet ever so gently. Tears still streamed down her cheeks.

The hologram disappeared.

“So I fell for her,” Chris said. “Is that such a crime?”<br>
“In this case it is. You-”<br>
“No, this is none of your concern.”<br>
“Ah but it is,” the elder stated firmly. “If it wasn’t, you wouldn’t be here before us.” The elder paused. “Did you forget the consequences might result from this?”<br>
“No, I didn’t forget.”<br>
“Did you heed Leo’s warnings?”<br>
“No, I didn’t.”<br>
“Not only did you put the future at risk, you disobeyed an elder.”<br>
“Oh bull,” Chris said loudly. “Leo and Piper-”<br>
“Are a different story,” the elder cut off. “Did you ever tell the girl what would happen when you left?”<br>
“NO, I didn’t have to, she knows.”<br>
“Do you care for her?”<br>
“Yes, I do.”<br>
“Is she your friend?”<br>
“Yes.”<br>
“Do you love her?”<br>
“Yes, I love her.”<br>

“I don’t like this, not one bit,” Piper said as she paced the conservatory.

“What could be taking them so long?” Paige wondered, nervously playing with her hands.

“I don’t know, but it can’t be good. They’ve been up there for three hours already.”<br>
“I can’t believe they wouldn’t let me know what they’re going to do,” Leo exclaimed unbelievably.

Zoey orbed into the manor.

“Zoey are you alright? What happened?” Leo asked rushing over to her.

Zoey wiped away her tears. “They told me that I’m ruining the time line, that I could be changing it in worse ways. Then they told me that I could get off easy if I told them that I didn’t love Chris. How could I say that? I’d be lying. They stripped my active powers. I’m being punished for loving him.”<br>
“What?!” Leo exclaimed.

“Why would they do that?” Piper asked. “That didn’t happen with us.”<br>
“Yeah well, they’re really pissed,” Zoey said. “Is Chris back?”<br>
Paige shook her head. “NO, you didn’t see him?”<br>
“They were separated,” Leo replied.

Just then Chris orbed in.

“Chris,” Zoey said and ran up to him and hugged him. “They stripped my powers. Are you alright?”<br>
Chris kissed her lips and looked at her. “They’re taking you away,” he said quietly.

“What?” Paige said.

“They said it’s our punishment. I have to stay to protect Wyatt.”<br>
Zoey shook her head, tears streaming down her cheeks. “No, I have school and- my life. Where? When?”<br>
“They didn’t say where but we have a minute.”<br>
Zoey hugged him tightly. “No, Chris, that’s not enough time.”

She kissed his cheeks and tasted the saltiness of his tears. She took off the silver locket she wore and handed it to him.

He kissed her hair then her forehead and lips. “I love you,” he whispered.

Zoey smiled through her tears and was about to reply when a bright flash of white light blinded everyone in the room.

Chris blinked and she was gone.

I officially hate the Elders, Leo excepted, of course.

What a way to end your season! This would definitely bring people back for the next one, which, incidentally, I'm about to head over to read!
