i have written a book about a teenager who discovers that shes a witch who had to learn to NOT use her powers so an all-powerful demon could not track her. This is about her strugle to re-learn magic and kill the real demon.
i want this published and i have already contacted a few companies. one i havent heard back from and its been a lot longer than they said and another...well i need about one thousand dollars. i added up certain things and thats the round estimate. i dont have to pay for the copy editing because my older brother has a friend that is doing that for me but i still need money.
heres a sample of it...
The Next Witch
Chapter 1
Randi Edwards walked into her bedroom sleepily with a toothbrush in her mouth and her hair wet. She stumbled into her bathroom, spit, and rinsed her mouth out. She climbed into her bed and fell asleep instantly.
A girl. Dark hair. Short. Dark eyes. She walked into a living room. There’s a woman sitting on a couch. The little girl walks to her. “Mommy, I had a bad dream,” she whimpers. “It’s alright, honey,” her mother answers. A teddy bear sitting on the floor suddenly floats up into the air and into the little girl’s hands. “Go back to bed. You just forgot Mr. Giggles,” her mother says. The little girl stumbles back into her bedroom and goes to bed.
Randi sat up straight in her bed. She got up and walked into the bathroom and splashed water on her face. She looked into the mirror and saw that she was sweating.
“Was that me?” she asked herself quietly. This wasn’t the first dream she’d had. She’d had many dreams before and in all of them there had been something that should have been impossible. Once the little girl disappeared from one place and appeared in another in the blink of an eye. Another time the mother waved her arm and a guy who had a gun went flying back. There were many more. Randi could never understand why this girl –her –and her mother could do all these things and why she was having all these dreams.
“I’ll worry about it in the morning. I’m exhausted.” And with that she stumbled into her bed and fell back asleep.
In the morning Randi got out of bed, took a shower, got dressed, and went downstairs to have breakfast before she had to go to work at Taco Bell.
“Morning Mom,” she said and sat down at the table. ”Where’s Dad?”
“He left for work earlier than usual today,” her mother, Emily, said. “Eat your breakfast. Your brother called. He told me to tell you hi and that everything on campus was great.”
“Cool. Remind to call back when I get home today,” Randi said as she ate ham and eggs.
“Did you have nice dreams?” Emily asked.
“Uh…not really,” answered Randi.
“Did you have a nightmare?” asked her mother with an almost concerned look on her face.
“Sorta,” she started. “I keep having these dreams about a little girl and her mother. The little girl looks like I do in pictures from a long time ago. Same with you and her mother. What’s weird is they can do strange things that should be impossible.”
“Like what, honey?” Emily said sitting down at the table.
“Well, the mother moved her arm and sent a guy flying backward. And last night the mother made a teddy bear come to her by just holding out her hand. And once, the little girl disappeared and reappeared in another place in the blink of an eye,” said Randi looking at her mother.
“Oh dear,” Emily said with an oh-no look on her face. “Honey, when you get home from work we really need to talk.”
“Um, okay,” Randi said as she grabbed her stuff and walked out the door.
Suddenly she stopped and then she saw something happening.
A woman. She’s getting into a car. A loud bang in the distance. The woman fell. She was bleeding.
“Oh my gosh!” Randi would have fallen to ground if her car hadn’t been there. “Who was that?”
She was barely able to climb into her car so she decided to call her friend and have her pick her up. When her friend, Chelsea Morgan, came she kept asking what was wrong.
“Nothing, I’m just tired,” Randi insisted.
“You don’t look tired, you look like you just saw a ghost!” Chelsea said.
“Okay. You really want to know?” asked Randi.
“Yeah,” she said.
“Okay. I saw some one get shot. But, I wasn’t there. I was walking to my car and all the sudden it was like I had a vision. It was as weird as my dreams,” she answered.
“Wow. Where was it?” Chelsea asked, concerned.
“Um. I think the k-mart parking lot. Why?” asked Randi.
Chelsea whipped around the corner and pulled into the k-mart parking lot.
“Here?” she asked.
“That’s her!” Randi yelled and jumped out of the convertible not even bothering with the door. She leaped at the woman knocking her down
Bang! They heard a gun go off. A bullet hit the car.
“You saved my life!” the woman said.
“Whoa! Randi you totally saved her! You rock!” yelled Chelsea getting out of her car. Randi took off running towards where the bullet came from. “Randi! Where are you going?!”
Randi tackled a guy and a gun went flying out of his hands.
“I don’t think so mister! You cannot try to kill some one and get away with it!” screamed Randi like a madwoman. “Call the police! Now!”
“I’m on it!” yelled Chelsea as she pulled her cell phone out of the car.
“And get an ambulance for the lady!” Randi yelled. She rolled the guy over onto his back and held him there. He struggled but couldn’t get free.
A police car came screeching into the parking lot.
“Ma’am, are you okay?” asked the police officer.
“I’m fine. That young girl saved my life!” she answered.
“I’ll take care of it from here, miss,” said the other officer.
“Okay.”
“Ma’am can you come down to the station to give a statement?” asked the first officer.
“Yeah, I just have to call my mom and work,” Randi answered.
“Okay,” said the police man.
“Here, use my cell.” Chelsea handed her the phone.
