The first season of Picket Fences came out a few days ago on DVD. Has anyone seen the show before? I bought it and so far I love Holly as Kimberly Brock. She was awesome from a very young age. I'm only on episode 3 and she's already cried her little eyes out...awesome as always.
There's also a featurete with the cast and producer of the show. She's in it for a very short time. I believe she talks twice and not for very long. She looks great, her hair is a bit shorter now.
Man I miss seeing her regularly. It sucks to be wondering what she looks like now and how old her kids are. I want to see her again soon.

I've never seen the show but it sounds really good. Didn't it win an Emmy?

Yes it did. The cast won as best ensemble and I believe Tom Skerrit won as best actor one year. The series itself I belive also won a couple of times as best drama or something. It's really worth the money if you're a Holly fan. She's not the main star of the show, which means in some episodes she's barely there but she's got some of the most interesting storylines.
As a short summary of what I've learned of her character: She's 16, the daughter of the small town's sheriff. Her stepmom is the town's doctor. She has two brothers from this marriage. She barely knows her biological mother, whom she calls by name but she calls her stepmother "mom". She's very smart, takes things very seriously, plays the piano and sings. She's very private about her life, which drives her dad crazy, and though she seems a bit rebelious, she's really a good kid.
I'm telling you, if you're a fan of Holly, you definitely need to see her in this role. It's completely different from Piper Halliwell and she shows off her acting chops, from a very young age.

Sounds great. Now does anyone, anyone at all, have some FUTURE career news about HMC?

Not really, hence why we're grasping at whatever we get from her that we haven't seen before. The DVD for Picket Fences has a documentary in which we see her talking for a bit, something we hadn't seen in a while.
It's odd, I hope she gets something soon, I miss her.

Agreed. It looks like she's going to be playing the role of wife and mother for a while, and doing her celeb charity work. All of which is great. Just hope she gets back on the acting "horse" so to speak and works on more projects.

Yet, nearly another month has gone by, since my last posting, and no news about a new HMC career move. We just hope to hear something soon. Again, has anyone heard anything they can share?

Well, if you haven't heard anything, then there's no doubt HMC is either not ready to go back or whatever may be in the works is being done very, very quietly. I hope all is well with her and her family. Thanks for responding.

Quote That would work as an explanation but they promoted the lights out of Buffy and now Supernatural. I just don't know why Charmed was always the ugly duckling. Maybe the reason that Charmed didn't get the promotion it should have done is that, from my experience, Charmed has more of a select audience. Also maybe it's because everyone behind charmed didnt want it blown out of proportion. I was never a real big fan of Buffy but I did used to watch however, I now have no wish to see more Buffy, yet I would love more Charmed. Perhaps it's best Charmed didnt get the same promotion as Buffy as most people I talk to have forgotten about Buffy altoghether, like it was just a mad craze that died out. As for HMC's career. She's probably spending some time with her children as they are both v young atm. I'm sure we will see her back in the field in years to come.

beebz: I hope so and I hope it doesn't take years for her to get back into acting (I know that's not what you were saying, about the years part). Given her history, she's probably working out and getting back in shape. It took her a while to do so after her first was born as I heard she does not like to use any of fast and easy ways many Hollywood types use as they are unhealthy.
I just hope she doesn't take too long as Hollywood has too short a memory. Perhaps she's looking for just the right role.

Hollywood never really recognized her very much anyway, so the short term memory shouldn't be anymore a problem now than it was then.
I saw on some website that for the life of me I cannot recall that she was rumoured to star in a movie called Memory of ...something or other. Anyway. I searched all over and couldn't find anything to substantiate this rumour and at the moment I didn't e-mailed the site's owner to ask about this information.

It's just a rumor. The writer of the film actually used to be a member here. I don't remember their username though.

Oh, the poster's name was The Seer and his movie was originally called Vendetta. I remember that.
Oh well, I'm hoping that she'll pop up soon enough again to at least do an episode of Law and order or some other similar show that relies heavily on weekly guest stars.

Holly is amazing, and there is no job better than being a Mum, and if that is what makes Holly happy, then fair enough. In my opinion, fame doesn't make someone happy, actress's like Alyssa and Rose who long for the fame havent felt the joys of mother-hood, unlike Holly, who now has found other things to fill her life with

D- You may be 100% correct. She may be sick of the Hollywood scene and happy to be a Mom for some time to come. She may never need to work again, if she saved and invested her money wisely. The only question is then: Is she really done with acting? Something which she has been doing her whole life. Given the way the WB and CW treated the show, it probably left her with a bad taste for TV studios. Maybe she's just done with TV. She had been planning to be part of a TV show, before she got pregnant again, and that was more than just a rumor. I don't recall the project or if it is still going forward, but it was to be on TV.
Too bad AM's show fell through or HMC might have been able to guest star on it.
I'm sure HMC will let her fans know what she's doing next (if there is a next) when she's ready. Maybe she'd like a big screen role and is hunting for just the right one. Maybe she's purposely letting some time pass so as to not be offered only roles similar involving the supernatural. Meaning she does not want to be type cast. I would think that her career prior to Charmed would help with avoiding any type casting. Although, I think it would be interesting to see her do a guest spot on the CW show Supernatural, as good but powerful being. It probably wouldn't work, because 1) it would lead toward type casting her; 2) it would have to be on the CW, who she was not fond of; and 3) all the being with power on that show are almost all inherently evil. I can only recall one type who could be considered neutral (the reapers).

I'm not happy with the section for Holly on that website. They have more information for the little kid than her.
They don't even mention Charmed, her longest role ever.
