Now that Charmed is over, what will Holly Marie Combs do now? She spent eight years playing 'Piper Halliwell', but I'm sure that isn't all she has. Will she return to TV, turn to the big screen, or just stay at home with the three boys in her life? If you have any news on Ms. Combs' plans, please share them with us here.

I gather no one has heard anything about what HMC is going to do next, career-wise? I know it's only been six months since baby, but does anyone have any news about her intentions?

I found this on TheDemonsJumble. I don't know if it's really about her career, but I didn't know where else to post it. --------------------------------------------------------------------- Holly contributing to Tinseltown Toddlers Charity Auction

That's wonderful. Really. Now what is she doing to get back into the world of acting. It's been over six months since the baby. Doesn't she have anything going on?

She may not be in as much of a hurry to go back as we are for her to come back to our tv screens. A 6 month old baby and a three year old is a handful. She may be enjoying the free time and I'm pretty sure she doesn't need the money.

Definitely agree on all points. She certainly deserves the time off to enjoy her family and raise her boys. From what I've learned, she lives well, but far more modestly than many TV stars and if she saved and invested her money well, she's certainly doing OK.
Still, acting is like a calling. It's something which gets under your skin and you need to keep scratching that itch. HMC is a talent we would all like to see performing again. I would like to think that besides raising her boys (and I bet she tries for a third to have a girl at some point in the next three to five years), she too misses acting and is working on getting back in shape and starting to talk to people in the industry about possible roles. It's certainly not too late for her to pick up a role or two in either a TV movie or as a recurring character in an already set TV show. I say it that way as it may be too late to star in a TV role and most of the September shows are set. Not all, but most. Also, with the CW gone, she has to re-establish contact with those producers at other studios. I'm presuming she has an agent, so if anyone knows who that agent is, perhaps they know her plans.

Did I miss something here? Is the CW gone for real? Or are you just being sarcastic, because we know it's going down the drain. -Please tell me that it's true!

The CW is not gone. What I meant so say is that the WB was gone. However, as network, I doubt HMC would work for the CW, after cancelling her show. Most of their current lineup is getting worse ratings than Charmed was getting through most of Season 8. Sorry to be misleading. I'm still hoping HMC is working to prep herself for her next role and is in talks with several producers. Or her agent is.

-Aw, got me excited there!
I really hope she doesn't work for the CW, or for any of those past WB jerks. They treated the show like crap, and Holly does not deserve to be treated in such a way again. She deserves so much better. She deserves a network that will respect the show she works for and most importantly a network that will respect her.

C- I couldn't agree with you more. The show never got the attention it derserved and that philosophy seemed to apply to the cast, as well. Still, we don't know yet what HMC is planning or even wants to do next. She inidicated she would have stayed with Charmed another season, if had been one. She has also indicated she preferred doing TV as the schedule was far more conducive to her family life, which is even more important, now that she has a new baby and a toddler to parent.
I suspect, therefore, when she is ready, that she will pursue opportunities on TV versus the big screen. She's obviously done a number of TV movies for Lifetime, so that is another option, if a script is offered to her which has an interesting topic. In the past, her TV movies have mostly been based on real stories and almost always a serious topic. There are plenty of those stories to be told, given the world today. I think she wants her work to be meaningful and not just another fictional drama. At least that's the impression I get from almost all her roles in movies.
Charmed, of course, had its own messages for the viewing audience.
We have a lot of HMC fan "eyes" out there, so hopefully somethng will appear in print or on the Internet, soon.

i hope she does some more acting i like to watch her. she's very good and very convincing. as for the comment on the network not giving attention to charmed... i think it was mainly because it was a show bout witches. supernatural type stuff. and this world being what it is doesnt like this sort of thing fraid it will make their youngins wanna do witch craft... and all sorts of stuff. me, i was raised to know fantasy from fiction. I MISS CHARMED... yes we got the re-runs butttttttttttttt.........

That would work as an explanation but they promoted the lights out of Buffy and now Supernatural. I just don't know why Charmed was always the ugly duckling.

it dosnt really matter what the reason was all that matters is that not many people payed good attention to HMC or the show i mean if more people actually saw how awsome HMC really is she would be VERY famous but sadly no one does but i hope that she does something soon

It's a matter of reaching a larger audience. HMC has rarely done anything on the big screen. Yes, there have been a number of good made of TV movies and there was the Dr. Giggles movie and one other. But all that was way back in her career. Ancient history in Holloywood. If she wants to be bigger, you have get into the medium which reaches the most amount of people. The large screen movies. Look at how well Rose McGowan is fairing. The moives she's been in have not all been good, but she's out there and her name is out there. Alyssa Milano is still sticking to the TV series roles, for now, but at least she has a show coming out in the Fall. HMC, because we don't know anything, may be working some deals of not wanting to do anything at all.
My point is, to be really famous, you need a hit, in the movies or on TV and right now, she's not doing either, that we can see. I hope this changes shortly.

Alyssa's show wasn't picked up by ABC, so she's back to square 1.

Can you provide the link which indicates what happened? I'm guessing the pilot or the concept didn't play as well with test audiences as they had hoped. That's a shame as the cast, besides AM, looked fairly strong. I'm really surprised.

I don't really have the link. Another poster on Television without pity came out with the information.

I went to her safesearching website and found her posting in her blog. I just typed a post in her area of TCO passworded career news, so I won't repeat it here. Suffice to say it is a very nice note to her fans. Maybe the pilot she shot will leak out to the Internet. If it got noticed, a lot, perhaps the networks would rethink their decision.
