I think dan for piper literatly was the boy next door, which was probably part of the appeal to her. Been as never being able to be away from home due to the responsibility of being charmed. Wanting her guy to be around.
If piper had been normal so to speak dan would have been her match as she always wanted a normal life again and dan was sort of a way to pretend she was on her way to getting that, but as destiny instead she was charmed and meant to be with leo.
But at the end of the day dan is the guy you lust over and leo is the guy you love.

What you said there above...I couldn't put it any better. I am though very happy she ended up with Leo.

Could someone tell me why Jenny was included in the opening credits in S2? She was a minor character that contributed nothing to the series that the writers then dispensed with after only four appearances (and she didn't even get an onscreen goodbye, rather her disappearance was explained in a throwaway line).
And for that she rated inclusion in the opening credits!?

Because the show wanted a teenager to target that age range who were watching Charmed then maybe?
Yes it was silly putting Jenny in the credits when she had no real purpose then actually.

If that was the idea, it failed miserably. Jenny was the most hated and reviled Charmed character until Billie came along.

Yep, that me wonder too. In later seasons, they surely treated that part differently, except maybe S8 but that's a different story. And she was only there for around six episodes or so. Not fun!

According to Obscurus Lupa, the character of Jenny was dropped because "the writers didn't know what to do with her". Okay, so why was she even introduced in the first place if they had no ideas for her?

Yeah, right a teenie. Just because it was en vogue at that time. At least, she was gone just as quickly as she was introduced.

She sure was. As I said, she didn't even get an onscreen departure. Dan just threw out a line saying "Jenny moved back with her parents" and that was the last mention of Jenny Gordon.

And if Jenny hadn't been on the show then I wonder what the writers would've spent the money they had on then?

Why is it not many fans like her? I mean I wanted to find her interesting, but it's like the writers never wanted to do anything with her. If they did, then I think fans would've found her more enjoyable.

I think that isn't easy to introduce a teen character in a show not for teen, typically the teen ends up getting into trouble

Yeah, the teen aspect was annoying. She didn't do anything. At least with Aviva (from S1), she was getting into the craft and it was relevant. So, unless they did something like that with Jenny....she had no purpose.
Writers didn't know what to do and the fans weren't liking her, so bye-bye.

I was never a fan of Dan, and I absolutely hated Jenny. While it sucks for the actress Paige Bryant, Jenny just didn't belong in the Charmed Universe. Now as for Dan... I have a lot of things to say about Dan. Like I said earlier, I was never a fan of him. Everything he did annoyed me: Got into Leo's business, tried to practically force Piper to move in with him(okay maybe not force...) I'm just glad the writers knew Dan was never going to be Pipers "endgame". I can remember every episode he was in for Season 2 and I just can't with him...
BUT...
I do believe it would have been better if they brought Dan back in Season 8 instead of Greg the fireman. I think that would have been more interesting.

I do believe it would have been better if they brought Dan back in Season 8 instead of Greg the fireman. I think that would have been more interesting. Actually, Leo wasn't always going to be endgame. He wasn't even supposed to return to season 2. His last appearance would've been when he got shot by the darklighter Alec in season 1. But Ted King ended up leaving and they needed another male cast member so they brought back Leo and still brought along Dan. I think the writers weren't sure if Leo and Piper were going to be endgame until mid way in the season. It shows how in morality bites, they have Leo and Piper together in the future. But in Pardon My Past, they had Dan and Piper together in their past lives with Leo as Piper's ex boyfriend. It's like they were trying to see which one Piper should be with. Personally, I love her and Leo being together, but I also wouldn't have minded if Dan and Piper somehow got back together and were endgame. Dan wasn't totally wrong for trying to convince Piper that something was wrong with Leo. I think any human being who fell in love with someone and noticed that the someone's ex has come back into their life and is very weird to them giving references to old baseball games like they're 50 years old and having records dating back to mid 1900s. Leo's business was interfering with Dan and Piper's relationship because Leo wouldn't let go of Piper. If he did, Piper would've fell in love with Dan more than Leo. But Leo came back and was always there to the sisters because he was their whitelighter. And when he turned mortal, that's what really pushed Piper to Leo more. And I DEFINITELY agree. Dan should've been brought back instead of Greg. "sigh" Think of how interesting it would've been

I love Dan just I felt the triangle was boring but Dan was such a sweet guy. He was totally a gentleman in every way. I felt bad when Piper chose Leo but I was also happy.

I just watched an interview with Greg Vaughn on the Soap network. He plays Lucky on GH now. And I think he is FINE!! I am still happy Piper ended up with Leo!! They are meant for each other! Fun to see someone with a Save Leo banner from back in the days when he was frozen. I have recently started to take an interest in Greg Vaughn especially as he appeared on the HOH podcast and has aged the best I think all of characters!

I didn't care for Dan at all. To me he seemed jealous and controlling and kind of pushy, especially when it came to trying to get Piper to sever all ties to Leo. And digging into Leo's background so extensively after Piper repeatedly told him she knew who Leo was. And his niece Jenny I absolutely can't stand at all. The problem with that character was that she didn't really have any place in the storyline and didn't add anything to the storyline. The character was bratty and annoying and acted spoiled. If they wanted to appeal to the teenage audience they should have done it with an actual well-known teenage actress and had them have an actual storyline that was relevant to the subject matter of the show.
