I just thought there were many aspects in "Witchstock" that seemed strange. For one Leo. His '60's character just seemed out of place to me, not the Leo I recognized. Yes, it was the '60's and whatever, but still I thought he didn't quite seem right. Especially with the hitting on Paige and "Sun God" stuff.

Yeah I can't believe I did not think of that I agree completely. Even Leo phrased it as "We crossed paths a few times". That indicates two people who are not very acquainted, sometimes that can even mean that they just saw each other but never even talked. Back then the manor was like a hippie club hangout, so tons and tons of witches hung out there frequently. Plus at the beginning when Paige first gets there Penny says that the whitelighters were about to do a show, so Leo was probably just part of a house act.
I also agree with this. Since when does a teenager ever want to hang out with their parents. Even today teenage years are the ones where parents are an embarrassment and teen would do anything to get away from them. I am 21 and sometimes I still think my mother can be an embarrassment. Not to mention like Tony said Patty may not have been into the whole hippy-dippy thing, which is a reason for her to consider her parents an embarrassment.
I have to admit it was a little unlike him and I wonder the importance of even having him be there, but it was kind of sexy. I kind of wish Piper had seen him like that I would have liked to see her reaction. I think though that Leo just got caught up in the time period is all, I mean remember when Piper and Phoebe first appeared on the scene and Paige found herself saying 'Far Out' without thinking. When you are around a society enough they can infect you. I think Maybe that's just what happened to Leo.

So who said it would have had to be about the hippie days. Lame excuse. Although I personally like the episode, they really should have made it fit better even if it meant changing the entire setting. Oh, it was definitely supposed to be about the Summer of Love in San Francisco (1967); the references were too obvious. If you meant that they didn't *have* to do it about that and could've/should've done a similar show from a different time period, I'd agree, although there really wasn't another time period in recent San Franciscoan history that quite matched 1967. That was when "If You're Going To San Francisco (be sure to wear some flowers in your hair)" came out due to all the hippies in the Haight Ashbury ares; the year of Woodstock (hence, the title Witchstock) , the summer of "Flower Power"--translation, LSD--the year of free love; the year of love beads, the year of go-go boots (I know--although I didn't do drugs, I had my love beads and my go-go boots and little granny glasses and longed to go to Woodstock or the Monterey Pop Festival), so, oh, *everything* in that episode said Summer 1967 in San Francisco. Once Finola couldn't make it and they did it for Penny instead, if they didn't mean it to still be 1967, they should've taken out all of those so-obvious references. It was a cute episode that didn't fit in with the rest of the season.

Yes Esmeralda thats what I meant, that they could have changed the references and everything to fit Grams more properly, despite that I actually enjoy the episode the way it is.
