Okay...in the episode with Billy Zane, Drake says he read a few books about feelings.
So the question is simple... Why would demons want to do this? And Where did he get the desire to read about human feelings? Did he have crappy parents that weren't watching what he was doing.

Yes, I agree with Pubesy - - Drake wanted to become human, but he'd been a demon all his life so he didn't know how to understand mortals.

I never understood why Drake wanted to become a human in the first place. Whyon earth would he need to read a book on feelings to become a human? Demons had feelings and emotions. Even on CHARMED.

He probably didn't like the lifestyle that demons were expected to abide by, and wanted to be off the radar of the Underworld.
He probably read the book on human emotions due to childlike curiosity, so he could understand mortals better. Demonic feelings/emotions probably feel different from those possessed by non-magical mortals.

Drake only read books to experience human feelings? Hardly. Since he appears to have acquired a strong taste for Shakespeare, I imagine he was captivated by tragedy and the different ways that heroes respond to tragedy. He might have enjoy the divine comedy of being human, too. I suspect that Drake hit all the classics of Greek drama, the Renaissance, etc. Whether he would have responded to Huis Clos (No Exit), the depressing play by Sartre is doubtful, though he could certainly have empathy towards Sartre's notion that hell is other people. Hell was other demons, a fact confirmed by Kira the Seer, who wanted to touch the earth with her bare feet.

At least in my eyes.

Hmmm...and other people on the board seem to believe that demons have no emotions.
So who's right?

maybe its not that demons have no emotions its that they cant feel these emotions, kind of like a crack addict. every sensation is completely dulled, including emotion

Just like Kira, The Seer. She saw all the things that humans do, saw their emotions. She always wondered how that would be like and eventually wanted the whole package, she wanted to be human. But as we know, Kira sadly never got the experience.
