Why is it that when Aunt Gale gives the girls the potions to strip their powers it takes what seems like ages!! Yet when the girls make Cryto drink the potion they get their powers back straight away??Seems as little convenient dont ya think??

That episode was such a mess, IMO. Probably one of my least favorite episodes.

Did the Halliwells brew the potion themselves (the one they gave Cryto)?
Because if they did, then it could be that their potion worked faster since they were more powerful than Aunt Gail was.

I thought they used the rest of the potion in the iced tea. But I could be very wrong. I haven't seen that episode in a while.

i like the episode but i defintly agree it was rushed and i thought giving the girls potions to drink was very not charmed like and i felt they could have done more things to it.

That episode was such a mess, IMO. Probably one of my least favorite episodes. *nods* I only know the basics and I don't really plan on rewatching this ep again to look closely. (Aunt Gail..was she ever mentioned again?  ) |

It may not have had anything to do with the potion but the witches that were saying the spell. Gail, Hellen and Amanda were not even remotely as powerful as Prue, Piper and Phoebe. It just may be that Gail and co. had to continuous chant in order for it to work when P3 was simply more powerful and it worked on the first try.

it might have had to do with who said the spell and mauybe the potion was mixed with the tea

Yeah i didnt like that episode either..I only re-watched it because i hadnt seen it in ages and now i know why lol.. Yeah i dont know it could of been because the girls were more powerful..that seems like a logical explanation.. I just thought it seemed a little to convenient imo.. But yes dodgy ep i reckon!!

Was it even proven that Helen and Amanda were actually witches? They seemed too scatterbrained in terms of their knowledge of magic.

No, they were only Innocents messing with things they knew nothing about. They had no powers, they only knew how to mix potions, if they stole them from The Book of Shadows, neither of them was even related to the girls. "Aunt Gail" was only an old friend of Penny's who had visited the manor lots of times when Penny was still alive. But since Gail had been around that much and also had been babysitting the girls when they were small, than she was family in the eyes of the girls. |

I know that. I was revisiting a previous discussion about this episode.
If Gail, Helen, and Amanda were all powerless, then there was no way they should have been able to summon Cryto.
So many people here expressed that Gail must have been the only one of the three who was actually a witch, and Helen and Gail simply accompanied her out of curiosity.
