I have no idea who came up with this one but I've loved it ever since my aunt told it to me:
"Somebody should tell us right at the start of our lives that we're dying. Maybe that way we would take more chances and live every moment as if it was your last."

^ Awesome quotes so far you guys -- I'm loving 'em! *thumbs up*
I was watching "Pretty Woman" the other night, and Richard Gere's character has a line that I've always loved:
"If they love it, they'll always love it. If they don't, they may learn to appreciate it, but it will never become part of their soul."
Of course, he was talking about opera, but I think it could apply to many other things also.

Here's one for the comedy factor:
"Big sisters are the crab grass in the lawn of life." ~Charles M. Schulz
I find it quite funny because I am the big sister in my family.

^ I've heard that one before and i love it!!
I have always liked this poem by William Butler Yeats. It's about the end of the world. It's really interesting if you have learned the theory behind it. I'll have to share it sometime. Anyways it's called The Second Coming.
Turning and turning in the widening gyre The falcon cannot hear the falconer; Things fall apart; the centre cannot hold; Mere anarchy is loosed upon the world, The blood-dimmed tide is loosed, and everywhere The ceremony of innocence is drowned; The best lack all conviction, while the worst Are full of passionate intensity.
Surely some revelation is at hand; Surely the Second Coming is at hand. The Second Coming! Hardly are those words out When a vast image out of Spiritus Mundi Troubles my sight:somewhere in sands of the desert A shape with lion body and the head of a man, A gaze blank and pitiless as the sun, Is moving its slow thighs, while all about it Reel shadows of the indignant desert birds. The darkness drops again; but now I know
That twenty centuries of stony sleep Were vexed to nightmare by a rocking cradle, And what rough beast, its hour come round at last, Slouches towards Bethlehem to be born?
