Jessica-James Christin was the average show stopping girl. She could walk in a room and light it up with her smile. No one knew the pain she suffered. At age 10 her mother ran off with Frank, the owner of the local store, " We're just so in love Jessica, i have to be with him" Gillian told her daughter as she left the house with her bags. Jessicas father was left a mess. After Gillian left he just fell apart. He grew thin from not eating, he looked gaunt and haunting from the lack of sleep. Charles was not used to being without his wife. He kept holding out for hope, thinking she would return to him. But 6 months later there was still no sign of Gillian, and after many sleepless nights and never ending tears, Charles made the decision to end his life. On the night of Saturday 5th August 1997 Charles Christin tied a neck tie around his neck, and hung himself. Leaving a 8 year old Jessica all alone. Lucky for Jessica Molly Simms, a kind 52 year old widow, took her in. Molly was Jessica's God-mother and she loved her more than the world. You see Molly was unable to have children of her own. She lived her joys through Jessica, making sure she had everything she wanted. But the people of Aycliffe were unaware that everyday Jessica-James cursed her mother for leaving her and her father. She never longed for a loving family, because she had one, with Molly. Jessica very rarly went to school " i don't need to go to school Miss Molly, i'm going to be a star" "Well stars need to go to school as well Dear" Miss Molly would reply " Oh but it's pointless. They don't teach us anything anyway. All we do is sit and copy out dated text from out dated books." Jessica had always been spirited as a child, and now at 14 she was beginnging to show her true potential. Miss Molly knew that Jessica was destined for great things, yet she was unsure of what that would be.
"hey, i talked to Jimmy Bruge yesterday, he said that he might be asking you to go to the year 10 ball." Lucie squealed. " Jimmy Bruge is a geek. Why would i want to go with him. I'm going with Tommy Bridge" " Tommy Bridge, no way. Jess he is gorgeous" " He is more than gorgeous, he is the only boy around here with brains in his head. All Jimmy does is sit in class, picking his nose and flicking it at Michelle Lucton. Anyway i won't be hear for the ball." " Why? where are you going?" Lucie asked " Lucie i can't say. But i will write to you." And with that Jessica turned round in her seat. She ignored the constant taps on her shoulder. she watched the clock intensly. Waiting for the time when she could leave. At 3.30 the bell rang, school was over. Jessica raced back to her home, greeted Molly with a grunt and ran upstairs to her bedroom. She put on her radio and listened to the lastest tunes. " Jessie-James Christin, turn that down now!" Molly bellowed up the stairs as she walked away she muttered to her self " i'm getting too old for this. That girl is wearing me out" She went into the kitchen and started the dinner. Molly Simms was known for her cooking. In her younger days she had owned her own Bakers Shop. She made the best cakes for miles. But when her husband died tragically she could afford to run it anymore, and sold it. Loud footsteps sounded in the hall way. She could hear what sounded like a bag pounding down after. She went out and saw Jessica stood by the door, tears streaming down her face. She knew what was about to happen. She knew this because a few months earlier Jessica had told her that she was saving her money to leave Aycliffe. Miss Molly had thought that Jessica was just being silly. That it was just some childish dream. But Miss Molly soon stopped thinking it was just a dream, when she saw Jessica stood there. " Miss Molly. It's time. I'm going now" " Jessica Dear, what are you doing." " I told you, I'm leaving. We talked about this. Remember" " Yes of course i do, but i didnt think you were serious" " Oh..Well i am. And now is my time to go" " And where are you going exactly?" " LA. I already have a plane ticket, and i've arranged a apartment" " Don't be so silly. You couldn't possibly do that in 6 months?" " Miss Molly, i've been saving for a 1 and a half. and i intend on doing this. Now i would like your love and support in this. So please give me it. Please" " Jessica i won't! Your 14, there is no way you can survive on your own. I won't let you leave." " Miss Molly, you can't stop me. Your not my mother! and you never will be. Now goodbye!" and with that she opened the front door and walked through it, slamming it shut behind her. She walked down the garden path and climed into the taxi. "where to love?" The taxi driver asked " Newcastle Airport please" Molly watched out the window as the one thing that mattered to her drove off.

The taxi ride to the airport was hard. Jessica kept wondering if she was doing the right thing. Leaving Miss Molly like that wasn't easy for her to do. And that things she said kept ringing through her head like a bad mirgrain. But deep down Jessica knew she was destined for great things. Things that Aycliffe town could not supply her with. She needed to persue her dreams. Jessica James was not the type of girl to let dreams drift past her. The taxi pulled up outside Newcastle International Airport " How much do i owe you?" Jessica enquired " Er..That's 42.50 altogether love" Bill that taxi driver told her. She handed over the cash and climed out. For a while she stared up at the large, glass front. " It all starts from here" she sighed to herself. She picked her bags and suitcases and walked in. She joined what looked like that longest que in the world, and patiently waited to be checked in. Her flight wasn't for another 3 hours, she was in no rush. All around her people bustled around, running to catch their flights. " Kerazzy" Jessica laughed to herself. Before she knew it she was stood in front of the check in desk. The girl behind the desk had her hair pulled into a tight ponytail. She wore heavy make-up that matched the purple uniform she wore proudly. " Hi, Can i see your Passport and plane ticket please" Without a sound Jessica handed them over. She watched as the girl checked them over. Jessica looked at the name tag hanging perfectly on the girls shirt, the words Penny were printed boldly in black. Jessica looked back up to her face to greet a bemused Penny looking at her. " everything seems to be in order there Miss. If you would just like to pop your luggage onto the convere." Jessica dragged her biggest suitcase up onto the black surface and watched Penny tapping on her keyboard. Penny strapped a bright orange sticker on the handle and pressed a button to sent her first bag away. " Anymore?" Penny asked " Yes, quite a few actually" Jessica laughed One by one her bags were weighed and sent off. After the bags were delt with, Penny handed her some tickets. " There you are, Enjoy your flight" Jessica moved out of the way as a family pushed past her. She searched the signs looking for the departure lounge. As soon as she spotted it, she toddeled off in the direction of a bright yellow arrow. Once she was past security she landed in the Departure Lounge. She sat in a chair and sunk down into the blue sponge. Before she knew it, her flight was being called, and a large groupof people were stampeding towards her. Instictively she followed and ended up in Gate 14. Were she joined another que of people and waited to board the plane. 15 Minuets later she was walking across the black tarmac to get on the plane that was going to change her life. Getting on the plane was easy, the hard part was finding her seat. Her ticked read 4G, but she couldn't see her seat for the heads and bodies of the other passengers frantically throwing luggage into the over head storage. Finally she was sat down in 4G. She looked out the window knowing her life would never be the same.
Molly Simms walked around the house. She half expected to see the door being flung open and a teary Jessica stood by it. She had expected this to happen 12 hours ago. The school had been on the phone once today asking where Jessica was but all Molly could say was " She's ill today". She didn't want people knowing the shameful truth. Molly Simms had driven Jessica James Christin out of town. Molly knew this was not the entire truth, but she could help feel that she was partly to blame. She looked in the mirror at her reflection. She couldn't believe that the person starring back at her, was actually her. Her once jet black hair, now showed traces of grey. Her smooth skin, was now wrinkled and dull. Under her eyes were dark circles cusioned by large bags. It was obvious that she had not gotten much sleep last night. Her large framed body was limp and lifeless. She felt drained. Physically and Emotionally. All she kept thinking about was the words that had been screamed at her by the girl she had loved and cherished. " Your not my mother and you never will be" Those words stabbed through her heart every time they ran through her mind. Molly knew she wasn't the childs mother, but she always thought that she did a good job, that Jessica loved her like a mother. Obviously she was wrong. She walked away from the mirror and sat in her chair. She turned on the TV, and once again started to live her childless life.
Lucie sat in Maths class looking at the seat where her best friend sits. It wasn't like Jessica not to come to school. " After school i'll go and see her, if she is ill she will need a friend" Lucie thought. At 3.30 Lucie ran round to Molly's house, knocked on the door and waited. Molly flung open the door gasping " Jessica?" but stood disappointed as she saw Lucie instead. " Eh? Miss Molly why would Jessica be out, she is ill, isn't she?" " No dear. Come in. You need to know this" Molly closed the door behind Lucie. She looked at Lucie who looked back with a puzzeled look on her face. " Whats going on?"

" Lucie would you like a drink?" Molly asked " No thank you, but i would like to know what is going on? Where is Jessica, and why wasn't she at school today?" Lucie demanded " Jessica has gone" " Gone? Gone where?" Lucie asked " LA." Molly answered calmly " LA! What is she going to LA for?" Lucie shreaked. Molly looked at the startelled girl. She knew this would be hard for Lucie to take in, and she knew that Lucie would probably blame her for letting Jessica go. " She has gone to persue her life dream i suppose" Molly replied " But...But she is 15. How can she do that? Why would she do that." Lucie's eyes started to fill up with tears " Oh dear you know what Jessica is like. She never liked being tied down here. She had been talking about this since she was 13 years old. I never thought she would go through with it, but then again i suppose i am a bit silly for underestimating Jessica-James." Molly looked to the floor. " She will be ok. Jessica is a very strong and clever young girl." And at that moment all the worries that filled Molly's head went away. She no longer feared the worst, instead she felt a rush of hope and knowing. She knew Jessica would return when she felt the time was right. Lucie didn't say anything. She simply stood up, nodded her head at Molly and left the house.
Jessica woke up in her La apartment. She lived with two other girls, Carmen and Brittney, they were both espiring models. Carmen had long blonde hair with dark brown eyes. She was tall and slender, with sleek legs. Brittney has shoulder length dark brown hair, her eyes shone bright green. She was taller than Carmen, and possessed sexy womnaly curves. The type of curves you only see on Hedi Klum and Tyra Banks. They were both gorgeous and alot older than now 17 year old Jessica. Carmen and Brittney had become great friends to Jessica. They helped show her were the best agencys were for acting and modelling. " You know Jess, if you made your stage name something dramatic and memorable, your more likely to get parts." Carmen told her " Oh ok. Do you have anything in mind?" Jessica asked " Well your name is pretty memorable anyway. Jessica James. Its very unusual. Perhaps loose the Jessica and go with Jessie-James. Jessica is a little girls name. Jessie-James is sure to get you noticed" Brittney replied " Well back home i sometimes get called that." Jessica laughed " So it's sorted. Jessie-James." All three girls laughed until there sides hurt. " Oh, i totally forgot. I have a modelling audition im like an hour, so i better get going." Carmen stood up, gathered her things and left the apartment. " Hey Jess, that commercial you did the other week was amazing man. You are a natural." Brittney commented " Thanks Britt. I really want to be in a movie though. A big movie that will make me a big star." Jessie-james said looking rather star struck. " Well Jerry Brookheimer is looking to cast a new face for his lastest leading lady. The casting is tomorrow at 11am." Brittney told her " Great, i'll be there."

Jessie-James never got the part of the Jerry Brokheimer film. She never got the part of her next audition, or the next one, or the next one. She was struggleing to pay her half of the rent. Carmen and Brittney were trying to be as understanding as possible, but Jess didn't think she was going to fulfill her dream. Then one day she was sat at home flicking through the newspaper looking for auiditions, when she got a phone call. She picked up the reciever " Hello" She greeted " Is this Miss Jessica-James Christin?" Said a strong male voice " Yes, who is this?" She asked " My name is Byran, i work for Maximum Acting Agency." He replied " Oh. Hello. What can i do for you, Byran?" She asked " Well actually it's something i think we can help you with. The other day i recieved a phone call from a young lady saying that you could use a agent." " Yes thats true." She said " Great. Would you like to come down to the office for a little chat Ms Christin?" Bryan asked her " Yes yes that would be great. When is best for you? And please call me Jess." " Ok, great, Jess, is today too soon. Just i want to get you on on board so we can start getting you some work" " No today is fine. I'll be right over" She got the address and ran out the door and down the two flights of stairs, onto the pavement outside. She hailed a taxi, and gave the driver the address. Within minutes she had arrived at a large stone building. The revolving door was bustling with busy bodies running to and from work. She walked through the door and up to the reception desk. " Hi, i'm here for a meeting with Byran Brook." Jessica informed the receptionist " Ok, Whats your name please" She asked " Jessica-James" She told the girl " Ok, if you just take a seat, i'll give him a ring and let him know that your here" Jessica walked back over the marble floor and took a seat on the black leather seats placed in the foyer. She wasn't sat long when a young man walked up to her and held out his hand. She looked up at the body that belonged to this manly hand. She was greeted by shining blue eyes, and a head of black gelled hair. He wore a black suit and smart black shoes. He smiled at her as she stared up in awe. His smile was enough to melt her heart. He was gorgeous. " Hi Jess" Said the handsome man " Erm Hi" She replied, slowly standing to her feet " I'm Byran, we spoke on the phone earlier." He said, once again wearing a beautiful smile " Oh Hi. I wasn't expecting someone so....young" She laughed nervously " Oh thanks, i get that alot" He replied laughing along with her. They walked along a corridoor towards his office. Once inside they both took there assigned seats. " Right, just a few quick questions. Full name please Jess." He asked " Jessica-James Christin" She answered " Age please" he asked " 18. It was my birthday last week" " Well happy belatted birthday. Home Town?" " Erm, why do you need to know that, not being rude, i'm just curious" she asked " Just so we can get a picture of what kind of person you are, it'll make you more relatable to your fans" " Aycliffe, North East, UK" She told him " What a coincidence, I'm from that area too." " Oh thats a bit strange isn't it." She sat in her seat, looking at him. she was captivated by his handsome good looks, and slender body. This was bad. She fancied her agent. She knew that she would now become a blibbering wreck whenever around she was around him.

After a year and 6 months in LA Jessica's career had gone from strength to strength. She had starred in 3 major pictures, and could now call her self and established actress. Her dream had come true. After years of dreaming and hoping, she was now famous. She was now living the dream. " Jessie-James, Phone" Carmen shouted from the living roomJessica snapped out of her appreciation, and ran to the phone." Hello" She took the reciever from Carmen and waited for a reply" Jessica? It's Lucy"" Lucy who?" Jess asked?" From home. In Aycliffe. You haven't forgotten have you." her voice was teary as if she was crying from the forgettfulness of Jessica" God know. Course not" She lied " What's up"" It's Miss Molly. Unless you have forgotten her too" " What's wrong with her?" Jessica asked" Oh so you remember then. She is ill. Really ill." Lucy told her" Ill. Whats wrong" Jess asked" Jessica, she had a stroke" Lucy said" Oh. How long ago"" Just after you left. It was that bad it sent her into a Coma, she just woke up. I've been calling and calling and calling for over a year, but i could never get hold of you." Lucy said softly" It's been over a year since i left. And your just telling me now" Jess shouted" I am just telling you now because you i have been unable to get hold of you. You have to come home" " I am home." Jessica replied " Home with Miss Molly, she asks of you all the time. She is getting worse, and if you don't come soon, she will die without you saying goodbye. Is that you want. Because if it is, then i will hang up now, and i will go and tell the women who looked after you for 6 years, loved you and cared about you, that you don't love and care about her enough to come and say goodbye while she is dying." " Lucy, i am in the middle of making a major movie, i can't take time off that" " Jessica, Molly is dying. She has been in a 1 year coma, and since coming out of it has deteriated alot. I don't think she will live the year out. You have to come back, for her" Jessica hung up the phone, went to her room and thought about what she should do.
