Paige and Glen: Best Friends/True Love
First off I’d like to give props to Fourever Charmed and The Singer aka Assassin for starting the Glen Belland Fan Club, and for being such diehard Paiglen fans. You encouraged me to finally write this!!
Second, this story is about Paige and Glen pre-Charmed and beyond. How they became friends, and what they’ve gone through over the years. This will also be somewhat of an AU in the end. Basically what could & should of happened had the two characters been given a chance, and so without further ado, on with the story!
Ch 1. Kindergarten Meeting
Six year old Paige Matthews, opened her eyes for what seemed the hundredth time and saw that it was still dark. “Won’t that sun ever come up?” She thought. She had been waking up all night because she was too excited to sleep. Today was her first day of kindergarten, and she was scared but happy at the same time.
“I wonder if I’ll make friends” she thought “mommy said I’d be scared but that it would go away once I talked to the other kids.” She got up and checked her backpack one more time, making sure she had everything, especially her crayons. She loved to color and draw. Her mom loved all her pictures and always put them on the fridge “My little Picaso” she’d say with a smile, and Paige loved to make her smile.
After double checking again she reluctantly went back to bed, hoping that somehow magically the sun would come up. Suddenly a yawn escaped her mouth; as she stretched and relaxed she finally went to sleep.
Paige was awoken by her mom gently rubbing her arm. “Hun, it’s time to get up. Daddy has breakfast waiting for you downstairs.” She slowly sat up wiping the sleep from her eyes. “Is it time for school?” she asked “Soon Paige, but first you need to get yourself ready, and eat breakfast; then Daddy and I will drop you off k?”
“K” Paige replied with a smile, jumping out of bed and racing to put on her clothes. It was a pretty red flowered dress. “Mommy, look at my dress!” Paige said twirling half way around not quite able to do a full twirl.
“You look beautiful Paige” Her mom replied smiling. “Now come on, daddies waiting” She says taking the six year old by the hand and heading downstairs. “Daddy made your favorite!”
“Ohh, Choco Chip Pancakes” she replied with a little squeal. “Of Course, only the best for our Paige’s first day of kindergarten” Paige smiled. “I have the bestest mommy and daddy in the world!”
At School
She was all alone, her mom and dad had left what seemed an eternity ago. Saying that they loved her and would see her in a few hours. Looking at all the kids made her feel a little nervous, not knowing exactly what to do, she decided to color. Sitting at the table she pulled out her favorite color blue and began to draw water. She laughed water was definitely something she could draw, it was everywhere, the entire city smelled like the ocean and she loved it. Suddenly she was lost in her own little world of blue and waves when the teacher came over and touched her on the shoulder.
“Paige, dear. Free times over. It time to start class, now go sit over on the rug with the rest of the students, ok” “Yes Miss Blake” She replied, as snickers were heard from the rest of the class. Paige lowered her head and walked over and sat down
“It’s my first day and already I’m messing up.” She thought when suddenly the door was opened and a young boy with a very stylish woman entered.
“Yes, How may I help you?” Miss Blake asked. “You must be the teacher, this is Glen Belland. I’m Ann, Mrs. Bellands secretary. His Parents got tied up in an important meeting and I was told to drop him off here.
“Hello there Glen, I’m glad you’re here. Your grandma said this might happen. Now you go take a seat right by Paige over there, and we’ll start class.
She turned to Ann “Thanks Ann, next time tell his parents he needs to be here on time. “Sure, no problem I’ll pencil it in for them.” She smiled
“Oh, I’m sure you will” The teacher smiled back and Ann left. “That poor boy” She thought heading over to the class.
Glen went over and sat down next Paige. She looked at him, smiled and quickly looked away. “Umm, Hi I’m Glen” he said with a smile, Paige looked back at him a little surprised he talked to her.
“Hi, I’m Paige” she replied matching his smile. “I made a friend.” She thought happily.
“Now class lets get in a big circle and well learn each others names, and your favorite thing you like to do” The teacher began. “Tory how about you?”
“Ok, my name is Tory Williams and I like playing with my dolls and…oh kicking my soccor ball with my brother.”
“Very good Tory, now Adam” Miss Blake continued
Looking around and listening Paige began to notice a lot of the kids liked playing with their toys and Games, and deciding she wanted to be different she thought of the time she had the most fun and smiled.
“It’s your turn.”
Paige looked up. “I’m Paige Matthews and I like to color and family fun night…the night me and my mommy and daddy play silly games and watch movies.” She laughed thinking about it.
“Sounds like a lot of fun Paige, now you” She replied pointing to Glen who sighed.
“Well my name is Glen Belland and enjoy playing in the tree at my nana’s house and playing tricks on Ann.” He grinned.
A few a kids snickered, while others covered their mouths. Paige just looked at Glen and smiled and he smiled back. “He’s funny” She thought happily and turned to Miss Black
Miss Blake couldn’t help but stifle a laugh, but regained her composure. “Now Glen, I know you may think playing tricks is fun, but it’s not the best way to treat people is it?” She asked
“No, guess not” Glen shrugged
“Good…Now students it’s time to practice writing our letters, and since today’s is the first day. We are going to begin with the letter A, and on the count of three I need everyone to quickly and quietly go to your desks, get out a piece of your writing pad paper and copy what I do on the board…Ok, 1,2,4..ah ah ah. I didn’t say 3” She smiled the kids enjoying the joke “3” and the kids went to their desks to start writing
After some activities and story hour it was snack time. There were crackers and cookies. Everyone went for the cookies, excepts for Paige and Glen, who went for the crackers and found themselves surprised.
“You don’t like cookies?” Paige asked
“No, I like them, I just like crackers better. Glen replied with a shrug
“Me too, salty snacks are my favorite.” She giggled
“Wow, that’s just crazy!…Hey, is that your drawing over there?” Glen pointed.
“Yeah, it’s the ocean, but I can’t get the waves right.” Paige replied with a nervous look
“Well I think its pretty besides you have lots a time to get waves right” He smiled
“Thank you” Paige replied. “So, who’s that lady that brought you?”
“Oh her, that’s just my mommy’s secretary Ann. She does things for her and my daddy. They had a big meeting and she dropped me off.”
“Does your mommy and daddy have a lot of meetings?” Paige asked curious she hoped she wasn’t bugging him too much.
“Yeah, they do, and I don’t get to see them lots, but I do stay at my nana’s house a lot, She’s fun” He smiled
“I like my grandma’s too, she loves to play cards with me. She teaching me to play knuckles.” Paige replied. (A/n I had her say knuckles because I’d know it would be hard for a six year old to say pinnacles)
Suddenly the bell rings. “Ok class that means it’s time to get ready to go. Now, don’t forget your papers. Practice your letters and I’ll see you all tomorrow.” Miss Blake said helping the students with their book bags.
When she opened the door Paige saw her parents and smiled waving. “There’s my mommy and daddy” she started to run to them then stopped and turned. “ Glen, It’s been fun talking with you, I’ll see you tomorrow k”
“Ok, I had fun talking to you too, bye Paige” He waved,
“Bye” She waved back and ran to her parents hugging them.
“So did you have a good day Paigey?” her dad asked. “I had the bestest day ever!” She replied with a smile and I made a new friend.
“Well that’s nice, why don’t you tell us all about it!” Her mom asked
and so Paige did!
