I want to know if I should continue this story, or if I should scrap it.
Vanish
Prologue
Piper let out a sigh. It had already been two hours and still no sign of Leo. She was acclimated to this, but nonetheless it always put her on the edge. The kitchen was dimly lit, as the sun wasn’t expected to rise for another half hour. Leo had awoken Piper earlier to warn her that the Elders were dealing with a significant problem. As usual Leo couldn’t reveal what type of problem, which was major pet peeve of hers. She had many pet peeves. Leo was sworn to secrecy and she felt she had a right to know for several key reasons. If it wasn’t for Piper and her two sisters Phoebe and Paige the world would have ended three times over by now. Not only that, Leo was her husband and the father of her children Wyatt and Chris, but obviously this wasn’t good enough for the Elders.
It was quiet in the house. The kitchen was lathed in the scent of morning coffee. Piper was sitting at the table attempting to be as patient as possible. To take her mind off of Leo she pondered about how many early-morning demon attacks she had encountered. Surprisingly enough there weren’t many to recall. Even demons need their beauty sleep, she thought.
Then Piper saw the blinding light of Leo’s orb.
“Leo!” Piper loudly whispered.
“Piper, I don’t have a lot of time.” Leo started, but before Piper could interrupt as he expected he lifted his hand signaling her to let him continue. “You need to call Paige and tell her to orb over here.”
Piper tried to respond again but failed. “I’ll go wake up Phoebe.”
“But wait!” Piper shouted, but he had already orbed out of the room.
Another normal day in my chaotic Charmed life, Piper thought with a hint of sarcasm.
Chapter 1
The three Charmed ones were gathered in the mansion’s kitchen, along with Leo.
Piper and Phoebe had their eyes on their younger sister. Paige’s hair was a lopsided mess. The sound of the phone instantly woke her, she answered; it was Piper explaining that she had to get to the mansion immediately. To her personal satisfaction she had grabbed her hairbrush that rested on her night-table before she orbed. She was frantically brushing away.
“Hun, I think you have more things to worry about then your appearance.” Phoebe said with a drowsy yet comedic tone. Paige gave her a weird face and went back to brushing. Phoebe had also been dragged from her bed, so to speak. She awoke with Leo shaking her. Then she felt weightless as she was orbed with Leo to the kitchen. Phoebe looked up at Leo standing near the counter, “What was so important that I couldn’t walk down the stairs? Or even use the bathroom?” She asked Leo.
The sisterly witches were now all seated at the table, and all were looking up at Leo after Phoebe had asked the question they were each wondering about.
Leo began, “The Elders are in disarray, you all know about the balance between Good and Evil.”
Piper interjected, “You mean that scale that we keep tipping in Good’s favor?”
“Yeah, well, something has happened. There has been a wider range of demon attacks. More frequent.”
“That’s what you got us all up and ready to hear?” Paige declared.
“Let me finish, when I say frequent, I mean on a scale of ten-thousand times more frequent. It’s like a brand new batch of demons has hatched from some million or so eggs and were born only to wreck havoc. They aren’t acting cautiously. They have no regards for even their own lives. This isn’t really the demonic activity we would expect.”
“Now wait a minute, are you telling me that demons are attacking innocents on a large scale right now, because if that were so we would already know, wouldn’t we?” Phoebe asked.
“No.”
“What? No, but you just told us…” Piper began, but once more Leo interrupted her.
“The reason I have been gone for the past two hours is because the Elders had to react soon. They did something drastic.”
All three girls simultaneously dropped all the questions that were buzzing around inside their minds and waited for Leo’s response with bated breath.
“The Elders stopped time.”
