This is a new story I just wrote. It takes place right before the Charmed Ones discover Billie. Just the first part though. Part two coming soon.
Paige ran down the stairs, paper clutched in her hand. Piper went flying across the room, screaming. She crashed into a table lamp and lay motionless on the floor. Paige ran into the living room and could see Phoebe. She was in mid-air, kicking at the demon. She landed and bounded over to where Paige was kneeling. She and Phoebe grabbed Piper’s hands and chanted.
“Claws of fear we must sever,
Demon you are gone forever!”
The demon exploded. Paige and Phoebe brought Piper over to the couch. After a few minutes, she started to wake up.
“Can someone please tell me what happened?” Piper asked. Paige could tell from her voice that she was annoyed. “Well?” asked Phoebe. “What was that thing?” Paige shrugged. “I just looked for a powerful spell to vanquish the thing.” Phoebe sighed. “Yeah but did you have to use the spell for the Harpy? You could have created one,” she said. She walked in to the conservatory to straighten up. Paige and Piper followed her. “Yeah well I was trying to save you two from being vanquished!” Paige threw up her hands. “This is the thanks I get?” “Yeah well you’re preaching to the choir, sister,” said Piper wryly. “There have been times we’ve gotten yelled at by Prue when we messed up.” Phoebe picked up a vase that hadn’t been broken and put it on one of the end tables near the wicker chairs. “Well, I have to get back to the newspaper or Ask Phoebe won’t make it into tonight’s edition!” Piper followed her, Paige on her heels. “Uh, Phoebe? You’ve got demon blood on that jacket. You might wanna change.” Phoebe whirled around and looked at her favorite cotton jacket. It had a pink cloth rose on the breast. Everything looked fine-except for the huge stain of dark green on one of the pockets. “Ugh! Why can’t we vanquish a demon without the messy clean up?” Piper smirked. “Because our job isn’t supposed to be easy,” she replied.
She poured herself a glass of tea. “Well I have a new charge to go deal with so I’ll be back in a little while,” said Paige. Both Paige and Phoebe headed for the kitchen door. “Hey! What about me? I have to take the kids…” “That reminds me, Piper could you check on that demon for us?” Phoebe asked. Paige nodded, obviously agreeing with Phoebe. “Thanks!” They both said. They left before Piper could get a word in. “Oh sure, no problem. You’re welcome!” Piper yelled after them.
Phoebe rushed into the office. Her assistant stood up, papers in her hands. “You’ve got tons of fan mail today and at least 50 letters from readers. Also, Piper called to check in. She said she did what you asked her to do and is going to drop the kids off,” her assistant said. They were in front of Phoebe’s office door.
“Thanks. I have the column written almost, but ask Elise if she wants any of those newer letters in there. You can put my fan mail in my box,” she said. She smiled at her assistant and entered her office. Her phone was in the middle of ringing. Phoebe ran over and picked it up just in time. “Hello?” she said. “Phoebe? It’s Paige. I’m stuck in traffic on my way to my new charge so can you tell Piper I’ll be late tonight?” “Wait, I thought you were orbing,” Phoebe said, surprised. “Well it’s a new charge and I don’t want to scare him. Better safe than sorry,” she said. Phoebe nodded even though Paige couldn’t see her. “Ok well see you at home,” she replied. She hung up and sat down at her computer to finish typing her column.
