Chapter One – The Downfall of Power
The Halliwell Attic….
“You can’t change destiny, Chris, no matter how are we try.” Paige said. Paige looked old and worn down. Chris looked into her eyes. “Wyatt was meant to be evil and destroy the world, and he still did it. Just like he killed Phoebe and Melinda, and he’s going to kill me and you.”
”I won’t let it happen.” Chris said, “Look, Bianca and I can change this!”
“Chris you tried already. I told you that. We thought the Order was the clan to turn him Evil, but now we know it was his decision, and we can’t change that.”
Chris breathed in heavily. “I can get Bianca and her Phoenix clan, all the witches we know and –“
“It still won’t be enough power. Chris we have to accept what is meant to be.”
”No! I won’t!”
”Then you will die fighting Wyatt.”
”I will die with you.”
Paige smiled at her 22 year old nephew. “I won’t let you die, I will orb you away, the second he conjures the energy ball to kill Me.”
”What no. Please don’t.”
”Sorry, but it’s what has to be done. He’ll be here in less than a minute, if you do vanquish him, do it like we planned.” She smiled, and hugged her nephew.
”I love you,” Chris said with a tear in his eye.
”And I will always love you. Remember, the amazons”
”I will.”
”Aww, what a tearful reunion.” Said a voice. Paige and Chris turned around, and Wyatt Halliwell stood there.
”Wyatt,” Chris said
“Chris.” Wyatt said, he conjured an energy ball. Paige turned around, put up her hand. “I love you” She said, Chris began to orb away, and through the orbs, Wyatt threw the energy ball at Paige, she screamed and was gone. Chris orbed away, with Wyatt looking directly in his eyes. Then Wyatt lifted his hand, and Chris felt himself jerk, and he was flown backwards. He landed into the bookcase and wall. The books and the shelf itself fell on top of him. Wyatt smiled in triumph. He turned and looked at the city through the attic windows. Passed the demolished houses of the neighborhood, laid red and yellow lights and smoke; San Francisco was in ruins.
Chris opened his eyes. How long did he black out? The shelf was crushing his arm, and he felt pressure on his face. He screamed, and used his telekinesis and the books and book self above him was thrown off him. He opened his eyes, Wyatt had turned around, and he smiled.
”Wow, Chris.” Wyatt said.
Chris stood up, with rage on his face.
”You actually have some power.”
Chris shot both of his hand forward; Wyatt was jerked back and forth. Chris made a gripped motion with his hands. Wyatt was now in mid air, choking. Wyatt screamed in agony, he tried to move, but Chris’ powers were to strong.
”I promised Aunt Paige, that I would die with her!”
”That won’t be today.” Said a voice behind Chris. Chris turned his head around, a demon had shimmered in, and he punched him in the face. Chris hit the ground, and Wyatt fell as well. Wyatt choked; he looked at Chris on the floor.
”BASTARD!” Wyatt said, he got up over to Chris, and grabbed him by the shirt. Chris punched Wyatt right in the nose. Wyatt defended by punching Chris in the face continually, then he punched him really good in the chest, and threw him across the wall. And then began to kick him.
”Don’t-you-ever-“Wyatt kicked Chris in the abdomen at each word, “do-that-again!”
Chris was left on the floor coughing and trying to breathe. He looked up and saw his older brother orbed away and the demon shimmer away. Chris laid on the attic floor, his body hurt to much to move, he tried to cry in mourn of his aunt, but his lungs must have been bruised cause it hurt. But he wondered why Wyatt didn’t kill him. Chris then gritted his teeth, and got up.
He walked over to the book. He then realized, it was all to him now. The future of good, and magic, and the Halliwell line, it was all up to him. He took the book, put it under his arm, looked around the attic once more and orbed out.
Chris was orbing for a long time, longer then usual, and then he landed on ground, in a temple. He looked around; there was a torch on the wall. He stood in a hallway that was that led off into both directions (forward and backward). There were markings on the wall, they were ancient; tribal. He began to walk down the hall; limping.
He exited the hallway and he stood in a courtyard. The dark grey clouds above him looked wet and ready to storm. It enhanced the grey stone of this temple. He looked around; three stones steps were in front of him. They went all around, the courtyard. Dark columns were surrounding the courtyard. Each wall of the courtyard had a door less entry way that led off into other parts of the entry way. Then Chris noticed that each column in surrounding the courtyard had a different symbol. The only one he knew was the ying-yang symbol on the column to his right.
A cold breeze filled the courtyard. He looked down and the dark green grass was beautiful against the grey steps. He walked forward and stepped down on the grass. He walked on the grass, as he walked he felt the soft ground under his shoes, and then as he took another step he felt something hard. He looked down and a grey stone plate lay in the ground. He used his feet to move the dirt off it, and then he gasped. The triquetra.
The in front of him appeared feet and legs in cow hide leather, and then to his sides. And then he felt something sharp touch the back of his neck. Chris slowly looked up, and he saw a woman with a mask full of colored feathers and a beak.
“Make one more move you’re dead.”
