Primrose was now on her journey to school, she personally loved school, it was an escape, it was normality. Evil rarely attacked at school, at least some have some kind of decency. Her long black coat was long gone, discarding of it in the bushes outside of the bar, however she kept the thin rimmed sunglasses firmly placed on the bridge of her nose. After all, they were quite expensive.
Jogging up the stone steps that lead up to the school entrance, she stopped and turned, looking out onto the city. Flashing she smile she turned on her heels and entered the oddly quiet school. Uh... ookay, this is a little odd. Rose thought to herself walking down the silent hallway, leaves, litter and debris blew along the floor. "Note to self, stop walking down freaky quiet hallways - especially when they're at school!" Rose muttered to herself as she observed some of the open lockers, it was as if everyone had just disappeared, leaving everything they were doing behind.
Where is everyone? She thought once more.
Glancing through a classroom window, situated in the door - Rose saw open text books, pencil cases and other school like things just sitting there, alone. "What the hell is going on?!" Rose asked herself, turning to look down the gloomy hallway.

Connor could sense the girl was pissed off by the way she had simply sat down but Connor figured the girl would have to deal with it. She was straightforward, plain and simple, and if you couldn't handle it, you and her were definitely going to run into some bumps. Still Connor wasn't a rude person, usually, so she figured she could at least try and be friendly, seeing as Draydon was staying quiet at the moment. "So, uh, what are you writing?" she asked, hoping she wasn't prying too much. She was a very curious person, it was just in her nature but she didn't know if writers liked to share their ideas until they were done with them seeing as she didn't know a lot of writers. She put on what she hoped was a friendly smile, as she waited.

Drayond stood there, his hand burning from the coffee. Connor manuevered through the crowded shop searching for a seat. Draydon assumed it was in vain, seeing as how their were no empty tables, but Connor walked up to a random girl sitting alone with two empty seat next to her. Mumbling something to her, she simply sat down and motioned for Draydon to copy. He also went though the crowd and sat down next to Connor and flashed an awkward grin to the random girl.

Kyle sighed tiredly and in one swift motion, returned the notebook to it's cover and placed the cap back on her pen. She moved them over to the side of the table and took a good look at the newcomer.
"That's really not any of your business, now is it?" she asked. She could tolerate this girl easily, but if she was going to pry in matters that didn't concern her at all, things could take an unfortunate turn. Her writings were personal, and usually no one but herself read them. Kyle looked up at the girl who was giving her an odd look and then over to the boy who was flashing her what she figured was a fairly forced smile.
"Stuff, okay? I'm writing stuff" she finalized, turning up the friendliness a slight bit in her tone. She turned her head to look at yet another girl that was viewing them with a certain curiosity. Kyle swore to herself that if she walked over to talk to them things would not turn out well. Maybe by a stroke of luck her cell phone would go off or one of her friends would come around and save her from having to converse with total strangers.
"I'm Kyle by the way" she told them.

Seeing one girl look at her,Elizabeth put her head down and acted as if they were no interest to her. She then lifted her head and finished off her coffee. She stood and walked over to a near by trashcan. Shoving the cup into the can, She heard a shudder as she twitched around," Woah!" Elizabeth said as many people stared at her.
She laughed as she traced back over to her seat. She shot a glance at the three others as the girl across the way had stopped staring. She then opened her notebook and began to write a few poems that had snapped into her mind. Elizabeth was very into writing, but she spent most of her time modeling.

What could Jacob be doing right now? Something useful obviously but what? He didn't have classes anytime soon. Maybe he could go for a good workout. He had yet to work out today and that was something he looked forward to doing everyday. He wanted to become a cop and he would need to be in good shape. Sure there were fat police officers but most of them had desk jobs so they could graze around the donut box all day. No, that was not him. He preferred to be active, he couldn't care to sit in one place all day that would be murder.
The coffee shop. He could always use a little caffeine to give him a little boost in his energy levels. Jacob made his way to the campus coffee shop but had to stop when he looked in the window. It was Mena Dianora. Jacob smiled as the sight of her. He couldn't resist any opportunity to run into her. She didn't know it yet but she totally wanted him, she was just playing hard to get and he could live with that. So maybe she had been playing hard to get a little too long. He had known her since high school their sophomore year and now they were in college. He had asked her out probably a million times and each response was a curtly as the next. He couldn't help it though he adored the girl he didn't know why but maybe it had been love at first site. He hadn't asked her out as much as he used to. Maybe she would miss it, but he couldn't play with fate. She just so happened to be at the coffee shop and so was he.
Jacob walked in the shop and looked over to the line. She didn't seem to notice he had walked in. Well she would know now. "Mena is that you!? Who would have ever thought I'd run into you here" Jacob said still smiling, while making his way to the line. She'd probably be annoyed now but, it seemed no matter what he said it annoyed her so it really didn't matter.

Mena was in her own little world while she was waiting in line for her coffee. She saw some students here and there, but none really caught her attention. She was to preoccupied. Mena glanced down at her watch and noticed that she had about 15 minutes to buy a coffee and get to class. She was not worried about making it into class on time. Her class was close by, a 5 minute walk at the most.
Mena reached the counter of the cashier and ordered the same thing she ordered every time she came to get coffee. She ordered a medium sized French Vanilla Cappucino. It was tasty and gave her enough energy to make it through the day. Her sister Gabriella often criticized her about drinking that stuff, seeing as it wasn't "real coffee". Mena didn't care about real coffee, she just wanted something cheap , quick, and energetic to keep her awake.
Mena was about to rush off to class when she heard someone call her name. She spun around and saw a familiar face. Mena could not help buy groan in exaggerated agony at the sight of the one and only Jacob Barras.
Of all the Universities in Montreal... I had to go to the one that Jacob goes to!
Mena rolled her eyes as Jacob approached her. It wasn't that she hated Jacob. She just found him to be extremely annoying. He was the jock of the school, the guy everyone was buddies with and the guy that the girls swooned for. Well everyone except for Mena. She had other things to worry about and Jacob was not the type of guy she normally fell for. He was nothing more than a jock whose ego was ten times the size of his brain.
Yes, he was attractive, Mena was not blind, but looks can only count for so much when you had nothing else in common. Jacob was a brawny jock who didn't care about philosophy and Classical Mythology the way that Mena did. Jacob did ask her out on several occasions during their last year of high school. He even asked her to the prom, but Mena was still dealing with many issues and had given him a long and angry rejection. She was surprised that he still bothered to talk to her. She knew she had been hard on him, but he was not her type at all.
She could not dodge her way out of this one, so she decided to attempt to be friendly and would hope that Jacob would get the hint and try to leave her alone. It's not like they both moved to Montreal from far away lands. They knew each other from high school. Mena turned to face Jacob.
"Hello Jacob. What a surprise finding YOU in here..." Mena hoped the hostility and sarcasm wasn't incredibly obvious in her voice.

What were the odds he would run into her here? It had to be fate, yes it was plain and simple fate had intervened. She may be the most stubborn woman he ever met but they were meant to be. Even if it might take a while for her to see it, he knew. He still couldn't help how he felt. It was just something about her. For one she was beautiful, much more beautiful than all the girls he had known growing up. Not to mention there was so much more to her than just that. She was beautiful inside and out. She was perfect. What more could he want?
Jake couldn't help but observe Mena a few moments before he actually went up to talk to her. He hoped she didn't notice, but he couldn't help it. He had been after her since the day he met her. It was like he was under her spell, with no pun intended of course. He liked everything about her, the fact she always liked doing the same things. They were complete opposites. He liked change; she didn't, opposites attract. D**n he should have gotten there a few minutes earlier then he could have bought her some coffee. He was after all a gentlemen whether she realized that or not.
She looked like she was in a hurry, probably rushing off to class. She was too much of a perfectionist. He assumed being tardy was a crime to her. It wouldn't kill her to be late. He had been late before, especially in high school. Those had been the days many tardies and too many detentions. So maybe that wasn't something he rather look back on. He was a different person now. Besides he had matured a lot during his senior year. He hardly had any detentions and he managed to graduate with honours. Not everyone could say that. Though he did most of it to impress her, but still she seemed oblivious to it all.
What did he have to do!? He was crazy for the girl. Why didn't she like him? Most girl wanted him. He could have just about any girl he wanted but the one he wanted rejected him! What Universe was this he lived in? He had stayed single since his senior year. He was determined. Maybe it was a little obsessive but people did act crazy when they were in love was he though? Could someone really love someone at first site? Was it constant rejection that made him want her even more? He'd do anything for her if only she'd give him a chance if only.
Still fate had to be on his side. She did end up in his University, that had to mean something.
There it was the famous eye rolling. It was still painful even though he should be more than used to it by now. He couldn't be that horrible could he? What was so horrible about him? Why couldn't he figure her out? Why was he so crazy about her? Why her of all the girls was she the one he had to have? She probably thought he was just another jerk in the crowd. Okay yeah he had been a jock, played hockey in school and such. Still how many jocks managed to graduate with honours and get ivy league school?
Obviously he didn't get in on account of his athletic skills or it wouldn't be an ivy league school would it? No. He wasn't stupid, like she must think him as. Infact he was quite an intelligent young man. Just most of his schooling years he goofed off and didn't care. Oh well she would think what she wished. What could he do?
Actually the whole thing sort of angered him. Who was she to judge him? He knew that what she thought of him. Some boneheaded jock with a two digit IQ. So he didn't go around flaunted how smart he could be like certain nerds did. He couldn't help it if he wanted to have an image through out high school. It was stupid and shallow on his part but what could one expect he was a teenager. What teenager didn't want to be popular and do stupid things to achieve it? She didn't know all that anyway. She was one year behind him so she didn't know he graduated in honour or any of that. He didn't feel like telling her, she probably wouldn't care. Or she would laugh in his face one of the two. It was actually kind of depressing she didn't know the good things about him if only she'd give him a chance.
He had got her though. She couldn't escape. She had to acknowledge him or she'd look stupid or death because he was sure everyone heard him enter the cafe. Plus everyone knew he had been after her since high school. How they knew was beyond him he didn't go to high school with half these people. He suppose to ones he did spread rumours like wild fire. Not to mention the witnesses of a few rejection across campus.
Oh now she was mocking him, well at least she was talking to him. "Yeah well, you know need my energy got to hit the books" Jacob said with a smile. What was that? Got to hot the books? He had said smoother things to girls before. Just for some reason he looked stupid whenever he talked to Mena. Maybe fate was laughing at him along with Mena yeah that was it.

Mena stood face to face with Jacob and she wished she could run out of the coffee ship and into her class. She wanted to run and hide behind her books. She never had trouble fending off guys before, but this Jacob seemed so very persistent. It annoyed Mena to the very core. He was not her type.
What was it about Jacob the annoyed Mena so much? Was it because he was a dumb jock? That could not be it. McGill was known for accepting the best and only the best whether or not they were athletes. She knew inside that Jacob was a smart boy. She noticed how much he had buckled down during his senior year and even though she was going through pain and emotions, she had noticed him. She was secretly proud of him even though she would never say it. She had to stand her ground, no man was allowed to enter into her heart again.
That was the reason Jacob bothered her so much. He reminded her so much of the fist boy that broke her heart. He dated her after pursuing her for so long, only to crush her after falling for someone better. Jacob reminded her of that boy and looking up at Jacob now, Mena could feel the bruises beginning to pulse underneath her skin.
Mena stared at Jacob's bright blue eyes. They were beautiful eyes. Jacob was a very attractive man. Even Gabriella and Marianna commented on how attractive Jacob looked. Mena often wondered how Marianna knew even though she was blind. Marianna would say something about how he must be attractive if GABI found him attractive. Jacob also had the strong jaw line and a beautiful, chisled...
NO! Filomena! You are stronger than he is!
Mena couldn't ignore it... Jacob was indeed very attractive, but she would not allow herself to succumb to him. He was like every guy who hurt her in the past. All they ever wanted was fer her to bend to their will. He wanted to use her for something and as soon as she succumbed to him, he would toss her aside like yesterday's garbage. It was what they all did to her, and she for one was sick of it. She would not get screwed over again!
Mena heard him say the silliest line ever about needing coffee to hit the books. She rolled her eyes, even though deep inside, she found his stumble to be quite funny. She had to stop this nonsense! Jacob would hurt her if she allowed him to. With a deep breath, she pushed her silly girl feelings deep inside of her and stared up at Jacob.
"Hit the books? I dunno Jacob, don't you mean something more along the lines of hitting hockey pucks?"
Ouch! That was harsh...
Even Mena thought that statement was pretty rough... But she had no choice, she needed to be mean to him if she wanted him to get away from her. She needed to push him away and being mean was the best way to do it.

Why? Why did she hate him? What did he do to her? She really must have hated him that was it, she despised him. She wasn't going to play nice either and that comment stung. Words never really hurt him but she, she could hurt him. She was the only person that could make him feel small. No girl ever made him feel the way she did good or bad. As soon as those painful words slipped out of her mouth you could see it in his eyes. He wasn't one to let emotion play on his eyes but once again Mena was an exception she was his weakness.
Why was it so hard for her to see he wasn't such a horrible person. He was a caring person if only she knew. If only she knew some of the things he endured in his lifetime. He had put his life on the line a few times to save others. Not that she'd believe he had to fight a demon to do so. He had a few times ran into someone being attacked, and of course he helped them. It was an everyday thing he hadn't seen a demon for a year now. He was too busy with school anyhow and demons had never came after him he had just been in the wrong place in the wrong time.
Maybe he should just give up? Leave her alone? He wished it was that simple but the truth was deep down he really did love her and he didn't want to think of letting her go. Why did it have to be unrequited? Why couldn't she give him a chance? She had hated him for too long. Every time she rejected him it felt like someone had shot a hockey puck right in his heart sort of like the current moment.
"Why don't you just hit the puck straight through my heart!" Jacob blurted out. That wasn't good he hadn't meant to think out loud but he couldn't help how he felt.

Mena knew her words were cruel and harsh the moment she said them, but as soon as she saw the pained look on Jacob's face, she knew how much those words hit him deep inside She looked into his eyes that she could tell right now were full of sadness.
Looking into his deep blue eyes full of pain cause Mena so feel a sting within her own heart. A sting that she last felt with her last heart break. It was painful and she remembered feeling like she lost half of herself. That feeling was apparent in Jacob's sad eyes. She didn't want him to be fully hurt. The Jacob Barras she knew bounced back time and time again when a silly girl rejected him... But now that Mena thought of it... It has been almost two years that Jacob was chasing her, shouldn't he have found someone by now? Why was he still chasing after her?
Mena couldn't stare at his sad eyes for much longer, she could feel the sadness well up within her own heart. She wished she could just turn invisible and run into her class. Why did she come into this shop in the first place? Why did she even come to McGill? Why was Jacob here? Why was he making her feel so horrible for shielding her heart? She would not succumb to him!
Why don't you just hit the puck straight through my heart!
Those words ran deep inside Mena's mind. How could those little words that she said have such a profound impact on this man? He was the type of guy who wasn't effected by anything. Mena saw that. Jacob was not the type to cry over a rejection or because some girl was mean to him. Still... She saw the pain in his eyes and regretted the words she said.
When Jacob snapped at her, Mena could feel the chill going down her back. She could feel his pain and she hated it. She could feel the bitter taste of sadness creep up from her heart. If she wasn't careful, she would begin to feel tears forming behind her green eyes.
Darn him!!! Darn him for hitting her deep inside! She would not lose herself to another guy! He didn't deserve her tears! No guy deserved them! Still... The pain he had was to great for Mena to ignore... She broke the barrier and reached out for his arm...
"Jacob... I... I..."
Mena found herself unable to finish her sentence... She was caught within her own words... She really did feel bad and she did not want to hurt him... But she could not show him weakness... She reached out for his arm in a gesture of apology....

Connor held up her hands in a sort of mock surrender as the girl snapped, no screamed at her for asking a simple, innocent question. Connor could feel the irritation bubbling beneath the surface but took a few calming breaths, it would do no good to blow up at this girl, she had been trying to save the blowing up for the debate classroom and so far she had manged, mostly, so she was just going to have to take the crap. "Damn, calm down, I was just asking a simple question. No need to bite my head off for it." The girl seemed to realize she had gone off a little too much and tried at least to be decent, Connor wasn't going to say friendly, because she didn't find anything friendly yet in the girl's tone. She announced her name and Connor nodded, she had heard her name before. "Connor Ridgebrook," she said simply in reply. She turned to Draydon who she felt she had been ignoring and smiled slightly. "And the freshmeat...sorry freshman is Draydon." she smiled a little wider to show she was only joking with him. She didn't find the need to bring down the students younger than her to make herself feel superior and she felt angry when she saw a bunch of stupid jocks doing just that. They always seemed to forget that they had been new once and how it felt to have those things done to them.

Draydon zoned out as Connor the the girl that they sat with had a confrontation, a small one, but a confrontation nonetheless. He was too caught up in another confrontation going on in the same exact coffe shop; this one seemed a little more serious. A boy and a girl seemed to be exchanging heated words which ended with the boy, a very attractive boy Draydon noticed, yelling, "Why don't you just his the puck straight into my heart!" He was brought back to reality at the mention on his name. "And the freshmeat... sorry freshman, is Draydon." She grinned widely to show that she was joking. "Haha..." Draydon mock laughed, "Very funny. Nice to meet you," Draydon extended his hand towards the girl, hoping he wouldn't recieve the same backlash that Connor had.

Kyle watched Connor with a blank look, then sighed deeply. This wasn't worth it, she wasn't going to waste her energy on fighting with some girl she had just met. She bit back a string of remarks, fighting the urge to really snap at Connor, realizing that that wouldn't make the situation any better. Despite her distaste for the girl, Kyle would just have to hold her tongue. She didn't need to give any reason to break out in to a fight. It wasn't as if she cared what other people would think, she just really didn't feel like spending energy at the moment.
She nodded when Connor told her name and couldn't help but smirk at her mention of "fresh meat". She wasn't the type of person to pick on the younger students, but she couldn't help it. At the mention of his name, Kyle turned her head to look at Draydon. She noticed that he wasn't really paying attention and followed his gaze. She shook her head when she saw Mena and Jacob at it again.
She knew Mena from a philosophy class they had taken together last semester. They weren't friends or anything, but they had talked once or twice. Kyle had noticed Jacob hanging around her a lot and couldn't help but feel bad for the kid. Although Mena's rejections were never completely rude, he had been chasing her for quite some time. She tried to be friendly to him whenever she got the chance.
Kyle turned back to two in front of her and smiled when Draydon introduced himself. At least one of them had some sense of courtesy, unlike his companion. This kid didn't seem so bad. She reached over and shook his hand.
"Nice to meet you too"

Why did she have to say something like that? What had he done to her? He must have done something, she couldn't hate him just because he had been a jock in high school. Unless she really thought all jocks were jerks with pea sized brains.
He really was hurt. What she thought of him was important and he didn't want her thinking low of him. He wanted her to think he was a smart, caring and generous person. Not just another guy, who could care less. He cared about her and that's why it stung whenever she said something harsh to him. He just wanted to them to be civil even it was just civil acquaintances anything but this. He just wanted her to not hate him. Even if they could never be together, at least let her not hate him. He'd be the happiest person on earth if only she didn't hate him.
This was all stupid, why couldn't he just let her go? It was something he thoughts about everyday. Just let her go. He should be with some other girl by now. He could if he wanted but that was it, he didn't want it. All he wanted was her and he wouldn't he happy until then. He would never admit that to anyone either. She was his weakness and each day she picked at his heart, and he let her.
She really did know how to hit him where it hurt. He may be able to get a lot of different girls but not every girl. Sure he had been rejected before, and it didn't really hurt. He always forgot about them, but Mena he couldn't forget it was impossible. It was like she was forever engraved in her heart. Even if he tried to forget her he couldn't.
Jacob attention came flooding back when she started reaching her arm. Did she really mean it? Or did she just feel bad? What was he he supposed to think? He really hadn't meant to make her feel guilty. He heard her start to mutter but not much came out. Just his name followed by a few I's.
He didn't want to do this. She was upset and he had made it that way. "Look, it's fine I have to go. I have this thing.." Jacob said with a swallow. He felt nervous, hurt, guilty and a bit angry all at the same time. It would be best if he left before he said something he'd regret. Jacob looked at her one last time before making his way to the door. People were starting to stare. Who did they think they were. Jacob wasn't paying attention and felt himself knock into a table, knocking one of the chairs down. He had really done it, now he looked like an idiot all over again. "Sorry about the chair, I'm just going to go now..yeah " he said to the coffee staff, looking embarrassed before he walked out the door.

Mena pulled her hand back embarrassed at her show of emotion. She did not mean to let a small side of her out. But she did and Jacob reacted just the way she expected him to... He ran away. Mena scoffed and nodded in mockery.
"Figures... A girl shows emotion and he runs away... Typical guy."
Mena turned and saw many people staring at her. She rolled her eyes and glared at them. What did they want from her? They had no right prying into her personal life. She wanted to yell at them all to leave her the eff alone! Her business did not concern any of them. They did not care that she was hurting yet again inside. They did not care that Jacob was hurt and how he walked out on her when she was trying to reach out.
She felt so stupid.... Jacob was a typical guy! He walked out when things seemed to get to tough for him to handle. She for one was sick of it and she was definitely sick of the people staring at her with fake sympathy. None of them even knew who she was, so why did they care if she was pissed off?
Mena stood there for a few moments and blankly looked at the table in front of her... Jacob was angry, she understood that... But he didn't have to react the way that he did. Mena sighed and gazed down st her watch. She gasped as she saw that she was almost 15 minutes late. She cursed silently at herself and at Jacob Barras. She ran out of the cafe and in the direction of the campus...
She was almost at the campus when she suddenly stopped dead in her tracks... Something was telling her to not go to class. she did not feel like going to class especially after that run in with Jacob... She did not feel like hearing her teacher go on and on about Plato and Socrates. Plus, she was already late and she had a friend in class. She would get the notes later. Without a second thought, Mena turned around and headed towards the center of down town Montreal.

Elizabeth became bored as the steam between some guy ,named Jacob ,and a girl ,named Mena, Stopped fighting. She turned to the group across the way and figured if they weren't gonna come over here then why not go over there. Her shy personality spilling she creped over to the threesome and smiled. Seeing no seat she pulled one up and sat down.
"Sorry, if I..."Coughs silently," seem up front about my arrival... I'm Elizabeth!" She said smiling as she put a hand out to Connor. Her smile became crooked ,waiting for the young girl to shake her hand.

Connor could tell the girl didn't like her all too much, but she wasn't that worried about it. She had long stopped worrying what people thought of her. Beside first impressions of her were usually wrong. You had to get to know her first before judging her, but most people found it impossible to talk to her without prejudice so a lot of people thought she was a b!tch when she really isn't. She was about to take another stab at conversation when another girl suddenly came over and started abruptly talking. She stuck out her hand and Connor stared at it for a second, before finally taking it. "Uh, hi." she said awkwardly.

Elizabeth smiled as she shook her hand steadily then returned it back to her side," sorry if this is awkward, I was just so bloody bored over there, I needed someone to talk to!" She said in her soft British accent. Elizabeth wasn't exactly British, but in a long line of family members, her ancestors were. Which has made Elizabeth claim as a British girl sometimes.
She looked up at the girl," um...I'm ... Elizabeth..." Elizabeth said her voice trailed off waiting for the other girl to pick up the conversation.

Jacob felt stupid maybe she did care and she was confused. Now he had ruined it and she probably thought he was a jerk. Nice going Jake real nice. How could he have been so stupid? Maybe he was a dumb jock after all. He had to talk to her, apologize. He wanted to make things right so bad. He just wanted them to be right for once. Maybe even be able to take her back to the coffee shop and talk.
Yes, he was going to tell her he was wrong. He didn't like to admit he was wrong much but for her as always he'd do anything. He was the apple of her eye. He would climb all the way to the top of the tree just to have her instead of picking the easy apples that were in reach.
Jacob turned back around to go to the coffee shop. He nearly ran in, and got the looks again. To his dismay she wasn't there. "I uh thought I forgot my wallet, but it's here!" He said trying not to look too embarrassed.
She was probably in class now. He'd walk around for a while and wait for her outside when it let out. He had to really tell her how he felt not just ask her on a date but be serious.
