Among us are people that are different, but on the outside they are just like everyone else. They blend in with society and nobody knows what really goes on in their lives. Who are these people? Witches, all who have some sort of special gift or power. They are like everyone else in a lot of ways but very different in other's. Some fight demons or warlocks by night. Some keep their powers at low key and avoid conflict. Some get a nasty awakening and others...others fall in love.
For those of us with busy lives like going to school, watching over a family, keeping up with a job, magic can begin to lose priority. It is usually here where those who use their gifts for evil begin to take advantage.
There is now a new evil on the rise. Corrupting those new to magic and letting those who have always known it unaware as they continue to live a normal life?
Can those who have chosen the right path prevent the darkness from taking over?
Or is all hope lost to the future?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
This story will mainly take place in the lovely city of Montreal. It will center around the students that attend McGill University. You don't have to be a university student. You may be in working class or play a demon etc.
RULES FOR THIS RP!!!!!
1.) First and foremost no godmoding! This is the most vital rule. You are not a god, so don't act like one. If that's what I wanted to RP it would be about god's but it's not so don't do it! Zero Tolerance, means if Solar and Rocker sees it's goodbye. Sorry!
2.) Absolutely no one liners! This rule is just as important as the one above. People can't work with a line or two. You have to expand your post by writing like a decent human being. I don't need you to write a novel but it's not too difficult to come up with a good paragraph. Therefore there will be an eight line minimum per post.
3.) When you are posting please do so in third person. I don't want to see the word "I" "You" or "Us" Use words like "He" "She" "Them" or the name of your character. I don't think I really need to go into detail about what third person is. If you don't know then you probably shouldn't be here, no offense.
4.)Grammar is also essential. I understand some of you may not speak English as a first language but it's very easy to use spell check so use it. I don't want to see chat speak. 'omg lyke i cant type but it fun 2 do neway'. No, just no! I do not want to see that! I know you are better than that!
5.)Be respectful of other players. Keep OOC drama in PM's or outside the site. If it gets out of hand PM myself or Rocker.
6.)No more than two characters a person, and no more than two powers. No crazy powers either. Not everyone is going to be the all powerful Wizard of OZ. This goes hand in hand with godmoding. Secret Words: Bees Knees
7.)You must also observe the Role-Playing rules of The Cafe.
8.) We reserve the right to disallow current members to continue with their role if they fail to observe the rules above.
9.) Also, please try not to duplicate powers. Basic ones like telekinesis and ones along those lines are alright, but lesser known powers should not be duplicated.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Jacob Barras -- (Solar Witch) Filomena Dianora -- (Rocker Child) Alexa Spencer -- (Assassin Witch) Elizabeth Lynn Hendricks -- (Prue's Empath) Connor Ridgebrook -- (The Goddess) Draydon Weber -- (charmedfan1211) Kylie (Kyle) Leshen -- (Fiji221) Cassandra (Sandy) Kelly -- (Esmeralda) Primrose Trinity -- (Astral Echo)

Connor Ridgebrook walked, slowly across the grounds of the campus, her whole being immersed in the law book held open in her arms. A stray breeze came by and ruffled the pages, but she put a finger to the book, to prevent it from loosing her place. She wasn't what you'd cal extraordinary but she did have a few quirks up her sleeve that set her apart from all the other students. She was a witch, plain and simple, and it was because of these powers she had come to McGill University, her father and herself weren't on the best terms about magic, well about anything anymore.
She felt her mind drifting and she found herself no longer able to concentrate on the case before her. She close the book with a snap of her wrist, and turned her attention instead to all the people around her. Another breeze drifted by and she pulled the zipper on her hoodie up more. Looking at her, you wouldn't know that she had grown up in a large mansion for most of her life, with a father who made more money in a year than most made their entire lives, but Connor was never the glamorous type, that just wasn't her thing. She couldn't prance around in clothes that were way to expensive and feel comfortable, she'd much rather being wearing jeans and a t-shirt with her favorite pair of Keds.
She decided what she needed now was a warm cup of coffee to heat her back up, so stuffing her book back into her bag, she stood, fiddling with the latch as she started walking again. She didn't notice where she was going until she bumped into someone. "I'm so sorry," she said, flushing with embarrassment, leave it to her to walk into someone. She smiled awkwardly as she waited for the person to speak.

Walking across campus, Draydon slipped on his jacket as the wind picked up. He could make it stop, but didn't really fell like it. You see, Draydon was a witch, and could control the wind. But right now, Draydon had no desire to calm the blistering wind, and no energy, having just come back from training his powers in an empty gym he had stumbled on while exploring his new college.
So far from what Draydon had seen, he loved the campus. In fact, he was so captivated by the beautiful scenery, he didn't even see the women that he bumped into. She said, "I'm so sorry," before Draydon could apologize, "Oh no, it was my bad."

Connor smiled as the guy answered her, he seemed nice, and that allowed Connor to relax a little. She never knew what the right thing to say to guys was, and she normally made a fool of herself in front of them, she hoped that wouldn't be the case today, because she couldn't deal with much more stress. "Well I guess then what we have here is mutual fault. I'd give you my insurance card, but I don't have it with me." she joked. She could slap herself, she was so corny sometimes. "So, uh, my name's Connor, it's nice to meet you..." She paused waiting for him to tell her his name, if he wasn't so freaked out by her already. See this was exactly the reason why she normally avoided dealings with the opposite sex, she ended up babbling like an idiot. It was odd too seeing as she had no problem whatsoever speaking her mind and being heard in class or when out with other people, but guys she just had problems with.

Kyle perched herself on the wide stone edge of one of the many fountains that were littered all around campus. She sat with her legs crossed beneath her, her sandals off at the foot of her seat, her iPod on at a low volume and a writing pad perched on her lap. She tapped her pencil unconsciously against the stone as she leaned back on her other hand. Despite the rather cool breeze that had been blowing all day, and while people scurried across campus hugging their jackets tightly against them, Kyle wore only a short sleeved t-shirt and dark wash jeans - she was too immersed in her writing and music to notice that she was cold.
She looked up for a moment, taking in the view of the campus. She had always found it interesting to just sit and watch as life went on around you. It surprised her how often people didn't even notice the things that were around them, and she found it refreshing when students would walk by, taking in their surroundings and not being engrossed in some text book bigger than their heads. In fact, at the moment she had looked up, she saw one of those rare students. A guy, maybe a few years younger than herself, walking about, taking in the scenery. Kyle smiled lightly to herself. By his enthusiastic viewing of the campus, she had an inkling that he was new here. It was good to see some new faces walking around.
But as she watched him, his views distracted him and he ended up running in to some girl. When the two of them took a few steps back from each other after the collision, she got a look at the girl's face. She recognized her from somewhere. Maybe they had a class together? Kyle couldn't remember. Her name was Connor though, she knew that. Connor Ridgebrook. Although Kyle didn't know her personally, Connor's reputation proceeded herself. From what she remembered, Miss Ridgebrook had quite the temper - one that was not easily forgotten.
Kyle simply smiled to herself and looked back down and returned to her writing so she wouldn't seem like some kind of stalker. People already thought she was weird without thinking she stalked people.

Smiling in the bitter warmth, Elizabeth traced her way into the grass of the Stanly Park. She didn't notice the hobo sitting on the side of the street, she actually could care less. She continued to walk as she found a bench,inching toward it, Elizabeth sat down as her smile faded. She looked up at the deep blue sky seeing bits of gray appearing," Thunderstorms, my ideal of a perfect day!" She said to herself as she closed her eyes.
Elizabeth had a grin on as a few raindrops fell upon her lightly dark skin. She felt the cold liquid roll down her cheeks and drip off of her chin. She opened her eyes as she heard a loud thunder roll. Standing up, she pushed some hair behind her ear. Elizabeth then stood in the park as lightening became viewable. She just smiled as her arms became a bitter cold. She rubbed them as she removed the jacket from her waist and put it on.
She then began to walk through the park. Her feet stomping on the hard cemented sidewalk. Elizabeth felt the need to do something ,but she had nothing to do. So she had no choice ,but to continue walking. She walked and walked hoping to meet someone new.

The random girl muttered some corny joke, and Draydon could tell she immediately regretted it, so he let loose a huge laugh that probably seemed forced. The girl then told him her name was Connor. "Hi, nice to meet you Connor, Draydon." He said indicating himself. "I'm new here. A freshman, fish, whatever you want to call it. Basically, I'm a newbie." Draydon chuckled awkwardly. He seemed to ramble on and on when he was nervous, a trait both of them seemed to share. "Want to show me around?" Crap, he shouldn't have said that. Now he anxiously waited for an answer.

Connor looked up to the sky as rain began to fall, splattering her face with cool water, making her even colder than she already was. She felt ever more awkward as the guy gave a forced laugh to her bad joke, as though he was pitying how completely stupid she was acting. And then when he told her he was a freshman she felt even more stupid, now she was being pitied by a freshman, when she was the upperclassman. He suddenly blurted out if she would show him around and Connor felt the color rising once more to her cheeks. No guy ever wanted to sped more than a few minutes in her presence so this was all new to her. "Um, sure I guess that wouldn't be a problem at all." She glanced over to one of the fountains on campus and found a girl sitting on it. She looked familiar to Connor but she couldn't see her face very well, it was half buried in a notebook, so she couldn't be sure. "I was just about to get some coffee if you want to come. I can show you some things on the way there."

Preparing for the worst, Draydon was surprised when she said yes to his question, and even offered for them to get some coffee. He saw Connor glance over at some girl by the fountain, and then answered her coffe request, "Sure, sounds great!" He didn't mean to sound so excited. "Ummm... Where is it?"

Elizabeth left the park and was on her way to pick up her daily coffee. She crossed the street waving and smiling as faces walked by. She finally found her way to the coffee shop and walked inside. She sat down and thought hard about what she wanted. She then stood and ordered. Elizabeth replaced herself with air as she waited for her coffee to come into her cold hands. She then took it and sat down in the airy seat.
Elizabeth smiled as the warmth of the coffee indulged her. She sipped at it letting it roll down her throat. Dropping into the pit of her tummy.

Alexa was in the coffee shop on campus. It was midday and she was in between classes and felt the need to loosen up and have some fun, with a nice, cool drink. Though it was a coffee shop, she didn't usually order anything hot. It must have been because of her ice-based power, but she greatly prefered the cold, which was why Canada worked for her.
The young Siren was currently drinking an Iced Brewed Coffee and flirting with a 20-year-old History buff. It was so easy to grab a male's attention that she barely needed to resort to her hypnotic ability.
There was a local concert on campus this weekend and the boy asked if she wanted to attend with him. And, since Alexa loved music and she did work at a record label, she agreed. She was well liked at her job and was trusted to find potential musicians.

Kyle groaned as a drop of rain hit the page she was writing on. The droplet caused the fresh ink it had hit on the paper to spread and run down the page. She sighed to herself as this process was repeated until her current page of writing was covered in black ink smudges. She quickly flipped the notebook back to the cover to spare the rest of her work and slid down from her perch. Kyle slipped her feet back into her sandals and took a quick glance around the campus, thinking of what to do now. Her mind was still racing with thoughts and ideas, and she concluded that she simply couldn't stop now.
She made her way in the direction of one of the campus coffee houses. Upon entering, she inhaled the comforting scent of brewing coffee and a blissful feeling spread across her as she made her way to a small table by the window. She set her things down to save her seat and made her way to order a cup of coffee. Once she was all settled at her table again she scanned over the shop, taking in the people around her. Kyle took note of familiar faces and those which were new to her before placing her feet beneath her and uncapping her pen.

Sat in tinted shades and a long black coat, Primrose waited in the busy bar for her mark to arrive. Shadow Cove was a well established demon hotspot, run by humans, ruled by evil. Lowering the newspaper from her face, she noted the young blonde woman stood across the other side at the room at the bar, continuing to watch out for her demon she slowly sipped the sparkling water that was pressed against her lips. Painted like a china doll, Rose's nails shimmered in the bright lights and her wet red lips opened slightly as the colourless liquid sailed down her neck.
Suddenly, as if on cue a smartly dressed, middle aged man entered the building and slowly approached the young woman. Her mark had arrived.
Watching closely but not so that she looked as if she was staring, Rose placed down her drink and newspaper and mounvered herself around the room - trying to gain any unwanted attention. Flicking her blonde hair over her shoulder, she dug her hand into her pocket and removed an atheme. As the demon placed his hand on the womans shoulder, Rose pounced and plunged her atheme into the demons gut. In fiery vanquish the demon howled as the flames consumed him, suffocating him the fire dispersed - the demon was gone. Turning right around the woman looked about nervously but like the demon, Rose had vanished.

Connor shifted her bag to her other shoulder as the rain fell harder now and led the way to the coffee shop, pointing all the different buildings as she went. The dorm rooms, the library, where all the different classes were located, the gym, and finally-"Here we are," Connor said, smiling as she walked into the warm coffee shop, glad to be away from the rain. The aroma was intoxicating in here and she would have gladly sat there and breathed in the smell all day. The place was crowded as usual but Connor didn't mind so much. She pushed her way to through the crowd of people all standing around chatting and stopped as she made it to the counter. She ordered her drink then turned to Draydon for him to order.

Elizabeth watched as many people entered the campus coffee shop. She had seen this place full before,but today it was very full. She rested her elbows on the soft,brown,wooden table. She bit on her nails, but making sure not to bit any off. Elizabeth looked around at the familiar faces, she didn't know them ,but she had seen them before. Boredom spread over her as she sat no one to talk to or look at. She softly closed her long black eyelashes.

Kick! Kick! Punch! Duck! Kick! Breathe... Breathe... Breathe...
Sweat rolled down Filomena's face as she practiced alone in the gym. It had been 10 months to the day that her parents were killed and Filomena had been training with her magic ever since that day. She felt that she was getting better with her powers and was almost able to use telekinesis while she was invisible... She was not entirely there yet, but she was getting better and better. Every time she would lose focus or become to tired, the image of her mother would come in her head and she would force herself to continue fighting.
Punch! Kick! Kick! Punch! Breathe... Breathe...
Filomena bent down and inhaled very slowly... She was feeling so tired, which made no sense seeing as she should be used to this hard work out. She could not remember the last time she had a proper night's worth of sleep. She had been busy with school and with her job and with practicing her magic. Gabriella had even commented on the dark circles under Mena's eyes. Mena looked at the clock and realized that it was time to go. She had class in about two hours and had wanted to get some reading done before going to class. Mena grabbed her bags and headed to the showers.
After thirty minutes of showering and drying her hair, Mena emerged from the gym in a gray McGill sweater and some dark blue jeans. Mena didn't know why she even kept this shirt. With the way the bills were looking, she wouldn't be surprised if McGill kicked her out within the following year... Ivy League schools were not cheap, even though Quebec IS the province with the cheapest education. Mena had wanted to drop out of McGill earlier, but Gabriella nearly bit her head off about it...
Mena glanced at her watch and saw that she had about an hour left to spare before her class started. She walked a bit more slowly as she headed into the campus. McGill had such a wide and spacious campus that extended up a hill in the center of Montreal. Mena loved the campus and she lived her city. Even though she was born in Italy, Mena considered herself to be a Montrealer through and through. She walked up to her favorite fountain and saw another girl sitting on it. Mena flashed a friendly smile and sat on the other side of the fountain. She reached into her bag and pulled out a book on Plato and began to read about the Allegory of the Cave.
About 30 minutes into her reading, rain began pouring down on Mena. She gasped and rolled her eyes. As much as she loved Montreal, she did not appreciate the random weather. She threw her books back into her bag and walked to the nearest building, which was the campus coffee shop.
Mena rolled her eyes as she saw no available seats left. She decided to wait in line and order something to warm herself up.

Draydon walked in silence as he was led through the campus to the coffee shop. Connor made sure to point out any important buildings to him along the way such as the cafeteria, the classrooms, and the library. Finally they reached a quaint looking shop that seemed to be way over its occupancy limit.
As the two new... friends?... sifted through the packed crowd, Draydon gazed around him taking in all of the faces that he could look at. It was a wierd habit of his, he just had to look at people's faces, as though he would find something out about them if he did.
Finally they reached the counter and Connor gave her order to the frazzled looking cashier, then turned to Draydon to signify that it was his turn. "Uhhhh..." Draydon looked up at the menu. It was actually in a language he could read, unlike starbucks. "I'll have a large coffe, black, please." Once the women rung up the coffee, Draydon handed over his money, recieved change back, and turned to Connor, "Shall we find a seat?"

Connor looked around as more and more people joined the crowd in the coffee shop. Apparently this was the place to go to make it out of the rain. "Yeah, if we can find one." she replied to Draydon's question. She pushed her way through a large group, smiling at a couple of her friends, the few she had, in the group as she made it over to a table. The girl Connor had seen earlier sitting at the fountain was sitting at one of the small tables with her notebook opened again. There were two empty seats at the table so Connor stepped up to claim them before someone else could. "Do you mind if we sit here?" she asked the girl, sitting down anyway, slinging her bag across the back. She motioned for Draydon to take the other seat.

Kyle was interrupted from writing when the girl she had seen earlier, Connor, came up to her. She asked if she and the newbie could sit at the table with her, and not waiting for a response, simply sat down. She slung her bag across the back of the chair and motioned for her friend to join them.
Kyle simply raised an eyebrow, very unimpressed with this girl. Doesn't look like I have much of a choice she responded in her head sarcastically.
It wasn't as if she was a loner and hated company, because that definitely wasn't the truth. But at the current time, she wasn't really in the mood at all.
She let out a small sigh and mustered a small smile, "knock yourself out" she responded.
Without another word, she returned to the notepad, scribbling something down before the thought escaped her.

Elizabeth's eyes traced over the people once again. Her eyes froze on two young girls and a boy. She gave a final glance then turned to the notebook she had taken in with her. She began to write down a few story lines, which she gave to her agent in the future. She smiled at the movie ideas:
Two Girls and One Boy find that they are all related.One Girl ends up getting cancer and the other girl and boy can not help but go crazy. They begin killing everyone until the girl with cancer dies.
Elizabeth looked up at the three company still sitting sitting at the table. She didn't dare go over and chat. She was to shy. She would hope they might come over to her. She knew that wouldn't happen though. So she just closed her notebook. She placed her hands swiftly on the notebook and closed her eyes. She then opened them and picked up her coffee,sipping loudly.
