Pipers Anguish

Piper walked through the sunroom. It was a dark evening, though she could just about make out the objects in the room.
"Just typical" She muttered. She couldnt believe that she had just gotten Wyatt to sleep and yet some Demon decided that they would ruin the peace again.
Or atleast she thought it was a demon, she couldnt be sure. She cursed as she banged her toe against a table, which made the mystery person jump up.
"Ah ha!" Piper exclaimed and threw her hands up to freeze the person.
Blue orbs materialised. Piper stopped what she was doing.
"Uh oh!" She muttered again.
"PIPER!" a voice cried out.
"Paige!" Piper cried in return. "What are you doing?"
Piper could make out Paige's figure run towards the light switch.
It took Pipers eyes a while to adjust to the light, but when they did, she took the time to take in the scene around her.
There were clothes on the floor, and a pair of feet dangling over the side of the settee. She walked round to the other side and saw a mystery hunk laid there with his arms in mid air like he was reaching out to something.
"Oh!" Piper smirked.
"What do you mean oh?!" Paige asked, looking slightly embarrased that her sister had caught her again, in mid action.
"Oh Paige!" Piper laughed. She couldnt help but laugh. Paige walked round to see her hunk, and laughed herself.
"What are you doing down here so late?" Piper asked Paige.
"Well, mom" Paige started sarcastically "We were having a bit of fun, before you decided to play Phantom of the Sneaks and scare us!" Paige replied.
"Well, you know Paige, you shouldnt be down here. What if Id have blown you up thinking you were a demon?" Piper asked.
"Well, I would have been ok!" Paige answered.
"Ok, but what about this one?" Piper asked.
Paige didnt have time to answer, as they both looked at the front door and saw Phoebe stumble in kissing a guy.
Piper tutted and looked the other way.
Phoebe turned round and saw her sisters.
"Piper! Paige!" Phoebe welcomed. "What... What are you both doing awake?"
"Well thats a question that I shouldnt be able to answer, because I should be busy!" Paige answered smartly, looking at Piper and giving her sister a playful nudge.
"Theres nothing wrong is there? Nothing distinctly magical that cant wait till tomorrow?" Phoebe asked, worried that her night would also be interrupted or ruined.
"No, no!" Piper reassured her sister. "You go and play!" She told Phoebe.
"And you" She said turning to Paige as Phoebe dashed by with Jason in tow.
"You play too... Just quietly!" Piper watched as Paige got herself back into position and walked out of the room.
"Piper, lights!" Paige ushered. Piper sighed silently, switched out the lights, and unfroze Paige's date.
Piper walked back upstairs, stopping half way to stare at the picture of her and Leo on their wedding day, which was being illuminated by the moon light.
"Night night Leo!" She whispered and carried on walking upstairs to bed.

Since I can never think of Piper as anything but the middle sister since she did such a crappy job trying to take Prue's place, this fic's title rubbed me the wrong way. But I like the way it's starting. Can't wait to see where you take it.

Piper woke the following morning to the sound of crying. She turned around to see if Leo was there. Her heart immediately plummeted.
So just as she had done for the past couple of weeks, she climbed out of bed and went to check on her son.
"Hey baby!" She greeted him. She bent over to pick him up, and went back to sit on her bed. She sighed as she watched Wyatt calm down and stared into his eyes.
"I know baby, I know!" Piper whispered to him. "I miss him too!"
Piper looked up as Paige walked into her room.
"Good morning sunshine" Paige groaned as she plopped herself next to Piper.
"And good morning to you too!" Piper greeted. She smiled as she stared at Paige.
"How are you feeling today?" Piper asked her younger sister.
"Im ok. A little tired. I think Phoebe will be worse" Paige informed her.
"Why?" Piper asked.
"Well lets just say she had a restless nights "sleep"" Paige giggled as she mimicked speech marks.
"And hows my baby nephew this morning?" Paige cooed as Piper passed him to her.
"Noisy" Piper answered shortly.
"Is he still not sleeping properly?" Paige asked, concerned.
"No. He misses Leo." Piper told her.
"Awww baby!" Paige said as she turned to Wyatt. "We miss your daddy too!"
"Do you want me to take him for a little bit while you try and get some sleep?" Paige offered.
"No, no! Dont be silly. I can manage. I just wish that Leo would come back, or atleast let us know where he is!" Piper exclaimed as she got some clothes ready for her son.
"You know what the Elders are like Piper. They dont tell anything, and they just send him on trips. He doesnt have a choice" Paige tried to comfort her sister.
"We're his family Paige. Surely he had five minutes to call or pop in!" Piper cried.
Paige laid Wyatt carefully into his crib and walked over to her big sister.
"Do you want me to orb upto them again and ask?" She offered.
"No, its ok. He will be back when he is ready." Piper told her.
"Ok, well Ill be downstairs." Paige informed Piper as she walked out of the room.
Piper walked over to her son and looked into his eyes.
"Where is your daddy huh?" She asked him.

As Piper looked at her son, she found herself being surrounded in bright blue orbs.
She looked up startled.
"Wyatt?" She asked. She bent over and picked her son out of his crib. She then looked around again.
Piper was amazed to find herself surrounded by what looked like clouds.
Wyatt gave a giggle.
"Wyatt, where have you brought mommy?" She asked him cautiously.
"Piper?" A voice called from behind her. "Piper?" It called again.
Piper spun round, just in time to see a figure coming towards her very quickly.
"Leo?" She called. Piper didnt have time to find out, as she was again surrounded by blue orbs and she was again in her bedroom.
"Erm, Piper?" Another voice came from behind her.
"Phoebe?" Piper asked as she turned round.
"Yeah" Phoebe replied.
Piper studied her sister, and then carried on talking.
"Wyatt just orbed me somewhere, and I think Leo was there." Piper informed her sister.
"Thats odd." Phoebe said as she sat down on Pipers bed.
Piper laid Wyatt down on her bed and walked round to sit with her sister.
"I know. You dont think Wyatt knows whats happening do you?" Piper asked Phoebe.
"What do you mean?" Phoebe asked.
"Well, I dont know. But he seemed to know where his daddy was. Or atleast I think so." Piper explained. She shrugged it off.
"I dont know. It may not have been him. I just miss him so much!" Piper cried.
Phoebe wrapped her arms round Piper and gave her sister big hug.
"He will come back Piper, you just see" Phoebe comforted.
"Anyways, what you think of the outfit?" Phoebe asked, as she stood up and spun round so her sister could see.
Piper laughed. Typical Phoebe, she thought.
"It looks good" Piper informed her. "Whats the occasion?" Piper asked.
"Jason is taking me to L.A. for a dinner date!" Phoebe gushed.
"Thats great!" Piper replied, not as enthusiastically as she had hoped it would come across.
"I know! I have to go though, he is picking me up in five minutes" Phoebe said. She ran to Piper and gave her sister another hug and ran out of the room.
Piper took the time to get changed. Stopping from time to time to have a bit of time with Wyatt.
After a while she stopped and sat down.
Piper stared at the picture of herself and Prue on the wall opposite. She sighed and thought back to when Prue was there, and what she would say if she were here now.
Piper smiled, stood up and took Wyatt downstairs.
