House MD - Wilson's Broken Heart

This is my first attempt at any Fan Fic.. Please read and comment..
This takes place after the season finale "Wilson's Heart"
Warning there are spoilers in here

This is my personal fic nothing from the real scripts of House

Opening Scene… Super Market somewhere west of San Francisco… Late summer.

Main Character/ Patient: Julia (Female 22 years old) Drops a box of assorted pots and pans in her carriage.

Julia is alone while shopping for her new off-campus apartment.
She goes to the cash register fumbles with her cash pays the clerk and leaves.
Scene Cuts to House who is stirring in his bed, reaching for his pain meds.

“Uhhh,” House moans
He gets up and walks around stretching his aching leg. No longer than a couple minutes does he have to sit down. He holds onto his leg as though it was going to fall off if he lets go. As soon as he let out a sigh….there’s a

Scene Cut Julia: After cooking breakfast and excising she collapses in the road.
* Breathing heavily after riding her bicycle
“Ahhhh,” she screams while clutching her head right before her collapse.
“Oh my God” a runner shouts after he spots Julia on the ground. He immediately calls 911
“Yes a female has fainted in the middle of the park, yes Chyinin College, yes she seems to be breathing but heavily. Please come quick!
End Scene Julia sweating on while un-conscience lying on a campus side walk.
~OPENING CREDITS

Scene Cut: Princeton General Hospital SF, House walking in talking to Cuddy
“Well I heard that…” Oh it’s you House”
“What did you hear...that Ginny’s baby in General Hospital was autistic and her mother is diagnosed as a skitzo?
*The other nurse Cuddy was talking with excuses herself
“No…”dragging out the “oh” No before we were so rudely interrupted by you, there is a case.
“Oh,” well you just ruined an opening for me, where’s Wilson?”
“Doing his job, or at least trying to, Amber’s death was hard on him. Aren’t you at least interested in this case?”
“Well I didn’t want to seem like an eager puppy, and I’d figured you’d tell me anyways…not that I’m interested.”
*House pushes towards the elevator, without a single hint of fascination towards the case
“House just wait, 22 year old female fainted mid afternoon.”
“What was she doing?”
* Sounding uninterested
*Holding the elevator doors open
“She had the episode, while biking”
“Let’s see, 90 degree heat wave, exercising, bad weather, is she an asthmatic?”
“Yes, but…”
“Case solved; heat stroke. Can I go now I have to talk to Wilson..?”
* Sounding like a complaining child
“House there wasn’t any heart damage, nor was there any brain or lung damage.”
* Look of shock on House’s face
* Cuddy gets in the elevator with House, House takes the file.

Scene Cut: House’s office, team is still mourning of Amber’s death when House limps in…
“Good morning. Sorry to interrupt”
“HOUSE,” the team cries ‘You’re supposed to be on bed rest, you nearly died; or do you not remember?”
“Yeah, yeah, yeah, there are some things I still don’t understand, plus sitting in bed all day just isn’t me.”
“Uhhuh,” number Thirteen sarcastically whispers.
“Hey, I heard that Thirteen, I know the last couple days have been hard on all of us but we need to get back on our feet.”
“And you, your cane.” Foreman announced

*House throws them each a file, and then leaves the room. Knocks on Wilson’s door…
“Wilson, I know you’re in there, and you know that I can get in no matter what, opening the door is the least evasive. On the count of three, one, two…”
* Wilson walks out, dark circles under his eyes; tear dried on his face, and un-buttoned collared shirt.
“What House!”

“What you can’t talk to me, your bestest friend?” * Sarcastically speaking
“You are lucky I even opened the door!”
“And why is that?”
“Isn’t it obvious?”
“No…”
“House, I blame you for everything…”

*he starts shutting the door
I didn’t even care if you died on the table
* he mumbles

“Oh” House says while turning and walking away, faster than normal
“Wait House, wait…”

* House walks into his office shuts the blinds, turns up the music, and plays with his ball He’s in a pensive trance
* The Team recognizes his presence and does not disturb him, but together come up with a differential diagnosis.

“What about heart attack?” Thirteen offered
“No there were no signs of heart damage; the ER already ruled that out.”
“ER doc’s have it so easy, they just write down what it isn’t” Taub stated
“Well let’s focus; we need this to take our minds off, things…” Kutner muttered
“You’re telling me”

Flash Back to “Wilson’s Heart” Thirteen finds out about her Huntington’s disease

“So let’s do an echocardiogram, an EKG and we’ll put her on basic antibiotics.” Foreman announced as un-official leader
“Wait has anyone contacted the parents?” Thirteen said warningly
“The ER nurse notified them, but apparently she’s been living on her own for the past five years. She hasn’t spoken to them in about year.

*Suddenly House barges in, a new man, his normal cranky self.

“What did you come up with?”
“Nothing we are going to run some tests, and put her on antibiotics” Kutner said
“What’s her family history” house questioned
“Her family is clean; mother a vice president of a corporation. She has a history of panic-attacks, stress levels elevate her BP, no drugs, allergic to pet dander, dust, and peanuts. Father also clean; went to Harvard and is a professor, had ADD as a kid but out grew it, lactose intolerant, and yea.” Thirteen rattled off
“But what about her, the patient?”
“She’s also lactose intolerant, is allergic to all nuts, well I guess you can’t go near her, umm no problems health wise other than her asthma. She an active runner and bicycler, straight A student..no drugs” Taub stated

“Everyone says they’re perfect but where’s the lie?” House grumbled
“Is it too hard to believe that she’s clean, no lies, no nothing?” Thirteen wondered, thinking of her little secret

*House leaves the room, heading towards the patient’s ward.
* Julia is on oxygen, an IV is hooked to her arm, and is linked to a heart monitor
“So it says here, you were biking when you fainted, is that correct?”
“Yes, and who are you?”
“It doesn’t matter. Did this ever happen before?”
“No, and yes it matters”
“I’m a gift from God. What’s the last thing that you remember?”
“I remember it being hard to breathe, and falling off my bike, and and everything went dark…”

*House heard all he wanted and headed to his team, while bumping arms with Wilson. House just keeps walking, Wilson calls after him

“House! Come here, NOW!”
“Yes father?”
“Not funny House”
“Oh well I thought it was, see hehehe.”
“Ok I can see you don’t want to talk, bye House.”
“Wait; come into my office, my teams out doing tests on the patient.”

* They walk silently to house’s office. They close the door behind them and House sits down

“So are we going to stare at each other like a couple school girls or we going to talk?” House implied
“I rather just sit here, until you give me an explanation.”
“An explanation, for what?”

*House already knowing what he was getting at.

“Why didn’t you save her?” Wilson said bitterly
“Amber, Amber was everything to me. House, she died without me getting to spend my life with her. I want her back, it’s just not fair! Why couldn’t you save her, you always find a way to get the cure, it may be their last minutes of life but you always do. They’re saved because of you. Instead of doing your job you went off trying to kill yourself…you left her to die!

* He gets cut off by House.

“Now just wait I risked my life to save her’s, I almost got myself killed by inducing myself into that state trying to remember her first symptoms!”
“But you aren’t the one being prepped for a funeral House, she is!”

* Wilson fighting off tears, brought on a painful card

“She died, trying to save your a$$. You called her to pick your drunken self up because a bartender took your keys. It’s your fault, that this is the last memories I have her …”

* He pulls out the envelope of the words “Be home soon, went to pick up House”

“Correction, I called you! If you were home as you should have been at that time of night Amber would be ok.”
“No I would have been dead, and I had a patient with me that night, I couldn’t go home.”
“So what you’re saying is that better her than you?”
“How absurd, House you don’t know what it’s like to lose someone you love at your best friend’s hand!”

*Wilson walks away trembling with anger, and tear streaming down his face.
* House is close to tears too, as he remembers his ex-wife, who left him for a cripple.

Thirteen walks in a few minutes later with papers in her hand, she hand them to House and turns to leave.

“Wait” House whisper-yelled
“For what, you to make me run out of here crying too, like Wilson?”
“No, that’s between me and him. I wanted to give you my sympathy.”
“For what?” Though she knows the answer
“For testing positive, I’m sorry.”
“I got to go…be somewhere.”

*House looks up and back down before he gets up to leave the room.

He mindlessly walks around the hallways until he finds himself at Wilson’s door.

“Knock, Knock” House says
“Come in, if you must”
“Wilson, let’s get out of here we still have a day until the wake, I need to do something for you.”


*They both get into Wilsons car, and House shouts out directions, until they find themselves at the bar.

They walk in and order.

“I’ll have a round of whiskey for my friend and I.”
The bartender looks at them and asks…
“What are you doing back here, what happened to the girl?”

*Wilson looks at House with a misbelieving face.

Why did you take me here… (he gets cut off by House)
“She had to leave town, permanently.”
“Oh, ok; one round coming up.” The bartender said
“I sensed you need this, a night with a buddy.” House said quietly
“Yeah, but I wouldn’t expect you to know.”
“What are best buds for,” House looks around to make sure no one heard that
“Why are you so cautious? Wait are you worried someone might catch us?”
“Noooo, I’m just...( He stutters) Oh just shut up and drink your shot.
“Haha,”

*The first time Wilson has laughed since Amber died

“By the way how’s your patient?”
“It’s under control…”

*Before he could finish his cell phone rings

“This better be good!”
“Oh, it is. Where are you our patient is getting treated after a cardiac arrest, air isn’t getting to her lungs. Get back here House, now!”
“I got to go Wilson. Stay here have a drink I’ll take the bus…

*House realized what he just said he stumbles out the door, and this time not because he was drunk, but because she has a flashback of the crash. Mindlessly he gets on the bus, half there half not, like sleepwalking.

Scene Cut: Princeton General- Patient on a respirator

“What happened, I was gone a whole hour?”
“Inflammation in the arteries, air wasn’t getting absorbed, hence the cardiac arrest. The heart stopped” Foreman announced “We shocked her back.”
“Where are her parents” House said
“Behind you” a set of voices said
“Mr. and Mrs. Jenkins has your daughter ever had something like this before?” Kutler questioned
“No, no, not that we know of… I’m not sure about the last year though, we haven’t kept in touch.”
“Well we are still not definite on her illness but we are getting closer.” Thirteen added
“Umm when was your child diagnosed with asthma?” House asked
“When she was in 4th grade…What does that have to do with anything?”
“A lot…” *House walks away
“We wanted to talk to you about a DNR, if that was ok?” the parents asked.
“Are you sure, next time she goes into an arrest we won’t shock her back, you know that right?”
“Yes, yes, we’ve talked to her about it, a while back and we believe it’s the right thing to do…”
“Alright let’s get some papers signed.” Kutner said bringing them into a conference room.

*The team walks into House’s office

“Are you guys’ nuts?” House yelled “Why would you let the parents fill out a DNR, we can save her, we have to.” *Thinking about his conversation with Wilson about not being able to save Amber.
“We still don’t know what she has, there are too many possibilities. We know her arteries are inflamed and we need to get them back to regular size otherwise she can have a stroke… Wait what about an aneurysm?” Thirteen blurted out
“No can’t be she would strokes already, or at least bled into the brain… we would have seen that on the MRI.” Foreman the neurologist snacked down.

*House looks up from his day dream, and says “What if her problem is the asthma?”

“House, millions of people of asthma, they don’t just go into a cardiac arrest, or faint”
“Yeah but what if the asthma was a symptom of something else.... If we take the fainting out of the picture, by saying dehydration, then we are left with the arrest and inflammation. *House just looks up with his famous face and smiles “Go test for nasal polyps.”
“What?” the team nearly screamed
“Just do it!” House ordered

Scene Cut: Team doing research in the lab. Under a microscope Taub sees the polyps ans is shocked to find House was right.

Team goes to see House


So far so good?

“You are right!” the team shouts
“Of course I am” House says “Now what are our symptoms?” *House gets up a writes on his famous white board
“Inflammation, cardiac arrest, asthma, nasal polyps, ummm” the team rambled off/
“What about Churg-Stauss syndrome, commonly known as allergic granulomatous angiitis?” Thirteen asked
“Ah,” Foreman mumbles “That makes sense, let’s put her on prednsoine for the inflammation and cylophosphmide to keep the immune system in check
“We should check her white count too.” House said

*The team rushes out of the room knowing it could be fatal and every minute counts

Scene Cut Team talking to the parents and Julia.

“You have CSS, you’ve had it for a while but the symptoms just presented themselves.” Thirteen said
“Through what did they come from?” Julia questioned
“Your asthma, your case is highly unusual because you’re so young.”
“What’s the treatment?” Her parents wondered
“Prednisone for the next couple months, the amount will be tapered after the 1st month. We won’t put you on an immunosuppressant because we caught it before the final stage of the disease. We didn’t allow it to reach the kidneys, or any other major organ.”
“Oh thank goodness, what can we ever do to repay you?” The parents asked
“Just make sure she takes her medication, and bring her back in a month for a check-up” Foreman said
“When can I go home?” Julia wondered
“Tomorrow, we want to make sure we contained the disease, as a precaution.” House said barging in on the conversation.
“And who are you again; we never caught your name?”
“Mom, he’s a gift of God, that’s all you need to know.”

*Team is holding back a laugh
*House turns and leaves, with a smile
Scene Cut: House leaving the hospital

“House,’ Wilson cried
“Yeah?” House yelled back across the parking lot
“Thank you…”
“Anytime, anytime”
“House?”
“Yeah?”
“I need a place to stay, can I crash at your place… I don’t think I can go back to our place yet.”
“For now, but you have to do the dishes.”
“Of course.”
