so sad. but the kid was stupid not to be with the family on Thanksgiving Day. or any other day but he was selfish to run off.

According to the link that Nich provided, the police are not sure, so i guess they will do standard procedure and perform an autopsy to determine the cause of death.
One hunch of mine is that he ate something that poisoned him, there are a lot of plants and berries in nature you should stay away from eating, even though they look very delicious, a 15 year old "Xbox generation" kid does not know better about these dangers.
