Okay, so as you all know, Twilight comes out in theaters tomorrow. I am in LOVE with the series and am anxious to see the movie. The Southern Christmas show in Charlotte is also this weekend, and the last weekend until next year. It's been a family tradition to go for as long as I can remember.
So, I'm DYING to see Twilight and go to the show, but my parents will only let me do one! Which one?!

I am all for family traditions and all but there are some special considerations. family traditions are all the time even when you leave and live on your own so i don't really think it would hurt to pick something different this time around and missing one time isn't gonna make that family tradition end and i am sure your family will be understanding more then you know. Just tell them its what you really want.

I would stick with your tradition with your family. The movie will be in DVD soon enough and you can see it then. But family is forever, and you never know how long you'll get to have all of them here on Earth. Especially if they're giving you that choice, they probably want to see which is more important to you...the movie or family. And who knows? It might be one of those family members who give you the DVD for your birthday or Christmas.
Make it clear that you would have really loved to have seen the movie at the theatre, but family is more important. It will mean SOOOO much to all of them, that they might end up telling you to go ahead and go to the movie anyway. Just don't do it for that reason, because they might not.
So it's up to you...which is more important?

I'm totally with Es. The movie will be around and you'll have plenty of opportunities to see it. But seeing as the Southern Christmas Show is a tradition with your family.
And rather than being Es' parrot and repeating her, I agree with her. I say you should go with the family tradition.

Being the traditionalist that I am, my vote goes to family too.
You can always see the movie at a later date, as it will likely be out for the better part of a couple of months -- and then probably on DVD.
However...
Time spent with your family (especially during the holidays) is precious, priceless, and irreplaceable.
I guess what it all boils down to is this: What holds a higher priority to you?

I think family tradition because there is no better way to spend time than with your family.

Yea i love twilight alot too but I gotta say that Family should be your choice. Family is much more important and plus I'm guessing you only go once a year to this show and the movie is gonna be out for many weeks. I also have a family tradition where we go watch the rockettes at radio city music hall. However I am going to tell you it's your choice and nobody can tell you what to.
