Important Announcment to all Youtube Users and all that this may concern!

The Warner Music Group are taking control of Youtube, limiting our use of this great site. WMG are muting our videos and stopping cover singers, fan video artists and music video makers from posting their work on Youtube.

How is that fair?

They are not pyhsically sharing any music, which isn't illegal. No one is claiming the music are their own and no one making their videos for profit. It's a joke how they're allowed to control our use of YT and it's not fair.

We need to take a stand now.

It's effecting many Youtubers and this needs stamping out before it takes over the whole community.

Get this video as popular as possible, get it on the first page and get it noticed! WMG need to go before they ruin Youtube. If they carry on, Youtube won't be the site it is today by the end of the year, they will completely transform Youtube into something ugly!

UNIT AGAINST WMG!

This is serious, if action isn't taken we will slowly see the demise of Youtube with in the next year. You'll no longer be able to make fan videos, music videos or cover songs vocally or instrumentally. WMG is ruining Youtube, I've suffered it first hand and it's a not a nice feeling. Imagine not being able to see Charmed Alternate Credits, fanmade Music Videos, trailers etc...

Imagine not being able to get your work see any longer?

Even if your not convinced this will work, please try. Watch it, rate it, comment it and share it at least. Please. Don't let Youtube down. The more popular this video gets, the more likely we'll get heared, get this to the front page. We need to, to save Youtube.

This has been going on since September and frankly nothing we do is going to be able to put a stop to it. We can rant, bitch, throw sh!t fits but it won't do any good. I've had 10+ videos removed (I've seriously just stopped counting at this point).

I suggest opening up an imeem account. Most YT vidders are migrating over there.

Its correct, there is absolutely nothing you can do on this matter, Youtube is on the way to its death.

After Google took over (the biggest mistake ever), infos about videos containing music has been sent to the music industry about how many watches it and if some lawyer who is working for these companies decides that it is a copyright violation, then Youtube just deletes it.
I have even tried it with a video that i did not even know that the British BBC owned, since the footage was taken from danish television. In all, 6 videos i have so far been slammed with copyrights issues about and gotten deleted.
No Charmed related ones though has been targeted yet.

I've been affected by this too, it is so unfair we do not make any money from it and we don't say that the music is our own. I have to change the music on nearly all of my videos.

It already is very well known. Just search "Yoututbe Rants" or anything YT vs WMG related. Like I said, it's been going on for awhile and there's nothing WE can do. Youtube stopped being "YOUtube" when Google took over just like Hansemand said.

But the issue isn't necessarily footage at this point but the music Hansemand. Of course there are *some* shows and movies targetted more than others (Buffy for instance is one of them) but you can get past those by just not tagging your video with those specific tags. Songs, however, have scripts uploaded into the YT database that recognize when it's WMG owned and most are rejected on upload immediately now-a-days.
