Hey, does anyone know where the theme song from the 8th season comes from? Is it on any soundtrack or can you download it anywhere? Does it have a name or something? Thanks

I've got the soundtrack with (apparently) all the songs from all 8 seasons and it's not on it either

I believe it is a man named Johnny Dowers who made the theme music for the Season 8 DVD release.
He is listed as a composer for unknown episodes in IMDB's technical details for Charmed.
He even had a small part as a street performer in one season 5 episode: Lucky Charmed
So it could be him who is behind the new season 8 theme song on the DVDs.

CBS/Paramount was not willing to pay copyrights for the season 8 DVD release. The rights for them to use the original theme ran out about 1 year before the DVD release.
So, they went another way and gave it a theme that is owned by CBS/Paramount only.

When I first heared the new song...
I was like "what have they done..."
But later I got used to it.

But if you watch Charmed on TV, then you can still catch season 8 with the classic theme song.
It was only changed for the DVD release, not the season 8 episodes that are being aired.

Not in Australia when they aired it. It was the new song that we hear on the season eight That must mean that they bought their Season 8 after the copyrights to usage of How Soon is Now ran out. Here in Denmark, Season 8 on TV has How Soon is Now. |

on the final "Forever Charmed" episode, there is this great acoustic guitar background thread that runs through the show... Does anyone know who wrote the 'mood music' for the episode?
Just wondering; I'm a musician and would love to know where to get the performance rights. I've tried all the normal avenues, but all they all seem to focus on the show as a vehicle for alternative artists.
