It's just a total shame that they totally forgot the lessons they were supposed to learn that day. I doubt if Phoebe's powers would've changed so that she could kill. If anyone's burning today, it would be Piper, because I can SOOO see her explosion powers used to kill someone who annoyed her one time too many--like Billie! Burn, Piper! Burn!

Nah. Phoebe never used her powers anyway so there would be no reason for her to burn. Piper's dead; she burnt yesterday.

I watched Morality Bites on the 27th since I had to do uni work all day the 26th. Do you think the writers/producers of Charmed really thought we would be living on the moon in 2009, or do you think it was a joke? I really like that episode although it is a shame they forgot the lesson they learnt later on...  |

You're right, Clare; it's embarrassing to think that the early-season writers actually thought that we would make that much progress in ten years. Even being able to talk to your TV in order to control it. I guess they wanted to emphasize the fact that this was in the future. And that at least was a lot closer than what Back to the Future's future showed us, or worse, The Jetsons!
The episode is still my all-time favorite no matter how many times it makes me cry--I just can't figure out how Phoebe, of all people, could've forgotten such a lesson, or even Piper, after having to watch her go through it!

I guess so.  Maybe in another 10 years our TVs may be fully voice activated. I wonder what they would show in an episode today if they were setting it 10 years in the future again? And I know what you mean, you would think after the heartbreak and torture of having to watch her sister burn at the stake that it would stick in Piper's memory but did they even ever mention it again after the episode? And the same for Phoebe, she said in the episode that she could feel the flames on her skin when she was being burnt and then she says the whole thing about "our powers are to protect the innocent, not punish the guilty" but she seems to forget that later on too... |
