Hi I usually don't write but today I was inspired and just started. Please don't hate me if I don't finish, sometimes I just lose interest in the stories I write. And if it ends badly, I am sorry too. Enjoy(:

Prologue
It started with a wish. It wasn’t like a wish normal people would make. The people around here usually wish for, a new car, or more time on their cell phone. Not me. My wish was something different. I know I shouldn’t have made the wish, it was just random… like someone actually enjoying the food at Big Ben’s House of Chile. If only I could take it back, maybe things would still be the same. Anyway, here we go, back to the beginning.
Chapter One
My eyes were wide awake. They had been for a while. I was just lying in bed, on my side. I had been up long enough to see the sun go up, from dark to light. I was nervous, ok? For the last twenty minutes, I could hear a thump… thump… thump… and I hadn’t given it much thought. It was probably just my brother, the NBA wannabe. It’s hard to believe we’re related, him being the popular, jock type, and me being the nerdy, drama club type. It was okay, because even though at school he hates me, we’re like best friends when we’re alone. What can you expect from twins?
I was thinking about happy thoughts watching a bird fly across my window when something hard hit me on the back of the head. I turned around and saw my brother, eyes wide in horror. I noticed his ball rolling across the floor and he quickly picked it up.
“BRAD I’M GONNA KILL YOU!” I screamed, running after him. He quickly ran down the stairs and into the kitchen. Smart, I presumed, being protected by mom. Our dad died a few years ago, but it’s been a long time, I’m kinda over it. We still miss him though, but I think my mom really misses him, since she makes us visit his grave every Sunday around three in the afternoon. I decided to forget about Brad for a minute and maybe enjoy my cereal. I dipped my spoon in the bowl and heard a scream. My mom was pointing at the open cupboard and I quickly bolted across the kitchen to see what she was screaming at.
“WOAH!” I freaked when I saw the size of the dead raccoon on the shelf. At least, I thought it was dead. It wasn’t moving, but it didn’t smell of any sorts. My brother pushed us out of the way and poked it with a wooden spoon. When it didn’t budge we decided to walk away. I continued with my cereal while my mom called the exterminator to get rid of it. Everything was going regularly when reality finally clicked in. I was starting school in forty-five minutes. How can a girl from Canada start school in San Francisco normally? It would definitely take a miracle, that was a given. I quickly ran upstairs and got dressed and came back down. I walked back to the cupboard while Brad was getting his shoes on and started saying my goodbyes.
“You were a good raccoon. You never tried to harm any of us, and-“. I was cut off by my mother yelling at me to get into the car. I trudged slowly out the door, then rushed beside my brother.
“First day of school, Liz” he whispered.
“I know” I remarked. We continued walking down the porch and onto the driveway.
“I can’t wait for the kind of parties I’m gonna get invited too…” he trailed off.
“That you’re gonna get invited too?” I asked, “So, what? You think you’re gonna be more popular than me?”
“Face it Liz, I play basketball, and you sing in musicals”
“Okay. I bet I get invited to the first party of the year before you!” I declared. Then I remembered, how am I gonna get into the first party when I’m not going to have any friends. God, you know, sometimes I am such a dumbass.
“Fine, I love the smell of challenge in the morning…” God my brother was such a dork. I thought I was the loser. I climbed into the backseat of mom’s ’86 Buick and tilted my head against the glass. As mom pulled out of the driveway, I had no idea what I was in for…
