The death and funeral of Ted Kennedy finally made me realize why I feel towards Kern's version of the Halliwells the way I do. Joseph Kennedy instilled in his children that when much is given, much is expected. Because they were rich, they were expected to serve others, those who needed help. Liberal was not a dirty word for them. They kept in mind Matthew 25:35-36:
That might be why I was so disgusted with the Halliwells in the latter seasons. They were given their powers to protect others. Instead they just used them to protect themselves. They should've either used them for what they were meant for or they should've given them up.
They did neither.
For I was hungry, and you feed me.
I was thirsty, and you gave me a drink.
I was a stranger,and you invited me into your home.
I was naked , and you gave me clothing.
I was sick, and you cared for me.
I was in prison, and you visited me.'
