Prologue
Amy Becklar turns down the dark alley as she realizes her car keys are buried somewhere deep down in her purse. She doesn't want to stand outside her car forever digging in her purse (can we talk about easy target), so she stops in the alley and looks for them quickly.
That's when in the corner of her eye, she sees a movement too fast for her eyes to register what it really is. Turning her head towards the movement, Amy saw a man in a black coat. He was bald, menacing and most of all fast, as he was now advancing on Amy.
She shrieked and picked up her purse, prepared to run. Another young woman turned into the alley, Amy in the middle of the girl and the man behind her. She wanted to yell for the girl to run for her life, but the girl spoke first.
"Get down!"
Amy trusting in the stranger, and the feeling that something was flying towards her head, ducked instinctively. At that moment, a ball of fire whizzed past her as she shrieked.
The girl easily dodged the fireball and was now running full speed towards Amy. Amy could see she had blonde hair was much younger than she was. Then the girl dug in her bag she carried and pulled out a bottle containing red liquid. She threw it towards the man. And all Amy heard was a loud scream and then nothing.
The girl helped Amy up. "Are you okay?"
Amy needed a minutes to gather her thoughts. "I think so, who?...What was...." Her questions didn't seem to fully form.
The young girl helped Amy out of the alley, "My name is Billie. I'm going to need you to stay out of dark alleys at night, kay."
With that, Billie helped Amy to her car, and when she saw that her innocent was safely driving towards her home, she looked down at her shoes.
"Aw crap, now there's mud on my new shoes." Billie couldn't help but feel the mud on her shoes was no coincidence. She shrugged it off as she turned to go back to the manor.
**
"Any luck?" Piper walked past Billie's room, previously Phoebe's room. She was up all night searching for ways to look for her sister.
Billie shook her head. "I actually gave up on all of this stuff, and just scryed for evil, hoping to get lucky."
Piper waited, "And did you?"
"Yes and no. I saved an innocent, but the demon was just an ordinary low level, nothing connected with Christy's disappearance." She saw that Piper was holding a pipe in her hand. "What's that?"
Piper looked down at her hands, "Oh. Leo needed this, last minute thing. It's supposed to fix our plumbing problem. I actually had Paige orb to the store to get it. It's always good to have a sister that can orb."
Billie looked down, "I don't even have a sister."
Piper walked in and sat down on Billie's bed, accidentally sitting on the remote, "It's okay, honey, we'll find her." As the TV turned itself on, Piper and Billie looked in amazement.
"Oh!" Piper realized she sat on the remote, "Silly me," she laughed as she picked it up and pointed towards the TV to turn it off.
"Wait!" Billie shouted. "That's my innocent from last night."
Piper looked at the screen. It was a news story. Middle aged woman found dead. She turned it up. The reported was talking.
"...slipped on a puddle of mud, causing her stumble and fall on a pipe sticking up from the ground, penetrating her skull. Officials say.."
Piper looked at Billie, her face was livid. "Oh, honey, I'm so sorry."
Billie couldn't believe this. She just saved her. How did she die that quickly. Then she noticed something familiar about the report. "Mud." Billie looked at her muddy shoes, that were now lying on the floor.
Piper did not understand. "Mud? Billie it's okay. I'll clean the mud up later, you don't have to-"
"No, Piper. Mud. There's mud on my shoes, and my innocent just happened to die when she slipped in a puddle of mud straight into a-"
"Pipe!" Piper looked down in her hand to see the pipe she had just purchased from the store. She looked at Billie. "You think their connected?"
Billie didn't know how to answer that. All she knew was that something killed her innocent last night and she was going to find out what.

Chapter ONE
"The Set-Up"
Phoebe, Piper and Leo are all out shopping for house supplies. Their inside of Menard's and Phoebe is looking over sinks with Leo.
"I don't know, it's a little expensive," Phoebe said questioningly looking at the well made sink.
Piper snorted, "Come on, Phoebe, you know you don't need all of that fancy stuff. Leo's just doing his typical suggestion thing." Leo shrugged. He knew his construction and he knew what would look nice in Phoebe's loft, he couldn't help but to give out his opinion.
"Hey, Leo, you think you could go look at the doors though. I want something glass for my bathroom." Phoebe suggested.
Leo nodded, "Sure," he actually looked more than please. He turned and walked up the stairs to the upper balcony where all the doors and windows were on display.
Piper and Phoebe proceeded on towards the lights. A man bumped into Piper.
"Aahh!" Piper almost lost her balance but Phoebe supported her up. They both turned to see the man who was so rude in his movements. Piper noticed Leo peering over the upper balcony making sure everything was okay, she could even see his worry lines from down below.
The man gave them an apologetic look. "Sorry, ladies. I really didn't see where I was going." The man had on a blue jumpsuit and soot all over him. He was obviously a mechanic or something. His name was sewed it in with his uniform, Hank.
"Well, Hank," Piper said. "I really think you should start paying attention." Usually Phoebe would stop Piper, but this time she was on her side, this man was too big to be moving that fast.
Hank apologized, "Like I said I'm really sorry," this time, he sounded a little rude. He then shoved past them and kept going.
"Ugh, how rude?" Phoebe protested. She then looked at Piper who was bent over picking something that fell out of her purse. It was her airplane brochure. Phoebe was a little stumped as she took the brochure from her hand. "Don't tell me you and Leo are finally taking that trip to Japan."
Piper nodded. "Yeah, we are. But I don't know if it's too soon with you moving out, and Billie trying to find her sister..."
"Oh, Piper, I thought we past this already," Phoebe said as they turned into the aisle with all the lights and lamps in it. A worker and a middle-aged couple were in the aisle as well.
"Past what, Phoebe?
"You know, " she said as she stopped and viewed an extravagant lamp that would go well with her new loft. "Putting your life on hold all the time."
Piper sighed, "I know, it's just...when is there ever a time? It seems like if it's not...distractions attacking all the time there's always something else."
The woman with the man turned and saw Phoebe. "Phoebe? Phoebe Halliwel?"
Phoebe saw her but saw no familiarity.
The woman laughed, "Oh, you wouldn't know me. I read your column."
Phoebe smiled, "A Fan! I'm so delighted." She turned towards Piper, "isn't this great?"
Piper just gave her sister a funny smile then pretended to look at the lamps.
"You mind if I get an autograph," the woman asked pulling out a pen and paper for Phoebe.
"Sure, why not?" Phoebe said taking it, "Umm, who to make this out to?" She noticed that there was a rose on the pen. A very pretty looking rose even for a pen.
The woman smiled as her husband finally came over. "Nancy." She giggled. Her husband looked at Phoebe then snorted.
"Come on, Nancy, I got what I wanted," he was very bold.
"Just a second, Nathan."
Piper rolled her eyes, for the couple couldn't see her. Nancy and Nathan? They sounded like siblings.
Phoebe signed the Paper and smiled. Nancy returned it. "Thanks a lot, Phoebe," She said as she left the aisle with her husband.
Piper gasped.
Phoebe turned. "What!?"
"That chandelier would look perfect in the living room."
Phoebe rolled her eyes, "Piper, you know better to scream unless theirs and emergency." Phoebe looked up to see the chandelier. It was pretty. Pure white. But the red from the price tag was reflecting off of it, causing the chandelier to look like it was drenched in red ketchup.
"Excuse me, sir," Piper called the worker. He was a young African American boy, attractive for his age, and very clean. "How much for that chandelier up there. I can't see the price."
The young man looked up. "Oh that one," his name tag read, Evan. "I think that's eight hundred. I can't clearly see it though."
Just then Phoebe noticed a cold draft. She looked up at the ceiling. A fan was spinning. She stood there looking at the over-sized for a minute wondering how cold it might be up close. And That's when she Gasped as if having the biggest premonition ever.

Chapter TWO
"The event"
Piper touched Phoebe's arm. "Are you okay, what did you-" Piper stopped knowing the Evan boy was still standing there.
Phoebe looked up. "Nothing. I saw nothing," which was very weird for her.
Evan said, "Oh. We're getting rid of a few mice if that's what you saw." he said.
"No," Phoebe said looking around frantically sensing something very bad about to happen. "I don't know."
"Well, if you want, I could get you a box. But we only have one left, and we currently are not accepting anything on layaway." Evan told them.
Phoebe shook it off. Piper assumed it was nothing. "Phoebe? You sure you okay?'
Phoebe nodded, "Umm, are you going to buy it or not?"
She then heard a loud whizzing sound. Getting closer and closer, like something being torn slowly. But she couldn't pinpoint exactly where it was.
Piper heard it too. "Phoebe? What's that?"
She shook her head, "I think it's coming from outside! Something's falling!"
Piper looked for the closest window. She saw one, a huge window above all the aisles and threw it....an airplane crashing down towards earth directly at them. "PHOEBE!?" Piper grabbed her sister and pointed towards the window.
She looked up towards the balcony section. "Leo!?"
The plane was getting closer and closer and Piper couldn't even freeze it since it wasn't in the room, that and it would probably be too big. A tear dropped from her eyes, they were all about to die and she couldn't do anything about it.
Then the plane titled and was now sideways, ten yards away from the building. Phoebe felt all the fear of the customers along with screaming. And then it hit.
The plane's wing pierced through the wall, sending supplies and pieces of brick in all directions, it still continued to fly. Phoebe watched in horror as the plane split the store in half, leaving behind a thick wall of fire. The wing hit the corner of the balcony and pierced through a pillar causing it to collapse.
"LEO!" Piper yelled as she started to run towards the collapsed stairs. Phoebe pulled her back.
The wing finally pierced through the other end of the store and the plane finally crashed across the street. At the same time the ceiling shook and sent the chandelier they were just looking at off of it's hook. The huge thing fell straight down on Evan's head. Phoebe and Piper both screamed for they were now looking at a white and red chandelier, the red being the blood from Evan.
But they couldn't look for long as they turned and headed towards the exit, the store was falling apart. But Piper was still running towards the balcony, which was on a slant, people and doors sliding down into the pile of debris below. "Look. Leo's still hanging on."
Phoebe looked, and to her amazement, he was. He had a piece of ceiling light he was hanging on to for safety. "Piper, Freeze him."
She lifted her hands to freeze him but then an explosion sounded behind them and they turned to see the married couple being propelled through the air, through the gaping hole in the ceiling, a piece of metal cutting their bodies as they went flying into the sky. "Oh my god!" Phoebe couldn't take the pain of these people hurting anymore, her empathy was driving her crazy.
Then she saw the rude man, Hank running towards the exit. And that's when the plane finally crashed somewhere off into the distance after skinning the ground. A loud explosion was sounded and parts of the plane started shooting through the store. One of the propellers came crashing through the store's remainding wall.
The fan from the propeller, caught Hank and his body was succumbed by the blades, leaving nothing behind but his shoes. The sight was horrific. Phoebe winced and turn.
Just then the balcony collapsed wholly, and Leo came falling hard upon a piece of broken window. Piper cried out in pain.
This couldn't be happening. It just couldn't. What could Phoebe do? "Come on, Piper. We have to get of here, NOW." She knew Piper was hurting too much to move, she could feel it. But if they didn't move sooner, they were going to die.
The fire from the ground was now spreading. "PIPER!"
Piper finally nodded, while grabbing her sister's hand.
They took off towards the exit. A long pillar holding up the store, was just about to collapse. Phoebe ahead of Piper. She turned to rush her sister, but then saw the pillar was now collapsing, right over Piper. "PIPER!"
Piper looked up and tried to freeze it.
When the pillar continued to fall, she tried to freeze it again. Was it too big? The question could not be answered for the pillar finally fell flat towards the ground crushing Piper.
Phoebe felt her heart being ripped from her chest. At the same time, the ceiling to the store collapsed and took her with it.
*
Piper touched Phoebe's arm. "Are you okay, what did you-" Piper stopped knowing the Evan boy was still standing there.
Phoebe looked up. She looked around to see the store completely in tact. What the hell just happened? Was it a premonition? The realest she ever had.
"Phoebe?" Piper repeated. She looked down at the airplane brochure she was still holding. Then looked up at the fan on the ceiling, just like the fan from the propellers.
She had an extreme case of deja vu as she started to recall things. "Mice, " she whispered.
Evan said, "Oh. We're getting rid of a few mice if that's what you saw." he said.
Piper was amazed, for she didn't see any mice, and Phoebe couldn't see anything if her eyes were closed. "Phoebe? How'd you know?"
"We have to get out of here! NOW! Evan you too." Phoebe shouted. "LEO! Get down here now, it's an emergency." Shoppers nearby turned their heads to see what the commotion was about.
Phoebe grabbed Piper and Evan, "Come on. Something bad is going to happen. "Leo!" But then Leo was then running down the stairs straight to them. "Leo get Piper and Evan out of here now."
Without any questions, he took a confused Piper and a very confused Evan away. The married couple were nearby looking at a fishing display. "Nancy! Nathan!" She ran over to them, "We have to leave now. I know this sounds weird, but just trust me."
Nathan pushed Phoebe off of his wife. "Get your hands off of her." Phoebe frantically swung back, trying to push the two out of the door. The mechanic, Hank, was nearby watching.
Security walked out of his office and grabbed Phoebe and Nathan. "You guys are going to need to come outside with me."
Phoebe used that opportunity to act more of a fool so he would rush them all outside.
The security guard then brought them all outside, Hank followed. "What's going on."
Phoebe, now outside yelled, "There is about to be a huge-"
Just then the plane's wing collided with the store and split it in half. Phoebe saw the plane glide across the street towards the car lot. "Oh my god, it'll explode and send parts flying. EVERYONE GET DOWN!"
Just then everyone ducked and that's when the plane hit the car lot, sending explosions and parts everywhere. She heard the spinning propellers crash through the store, followed by another part. After it all seemed over, they stood to view the damage. It was horrible. The store was gone. Collapsed and on fire. The street as well on fire, and scraps of metal lay everywhere. They were all safe, at least for now.

CHAPTER THREE
"The Survivors"
They all watched the plane wreck from where they stood in Menard's parking lot. Parts where everywhere, people were everywhere...at least there bodies were. Screaming was heard from every direction and it had caused a terrible pile-up on the street.
Phoebe looked behind her to witness the store, it was totaled. Collapsed. Smoke was everywhere. Luckily they all were far enough not to be effected.
Piper was the first to speak. "Phoebe?"
Phoebe turned towards her and the others. Evan the worker was there, along with the couple Nancy and Nathan. Besides them was Hank, the mechanic and the security guard, along with Leo.
Leo looked just as confused as everyone else, but didn't bother questioning Phoebe yet, they all had been through enough.
"Call 9-1-1," Leo said to whoever was listening. He rushed off across the lot towards the plane to save the survivors, if there were any. Still saving people lives even if he was just a mortal.
Nathan and Nancy were already heading back towards their car, which was untouched by the way. Hank lingered there in his mechanic uniform. Phoebe could sense him trying to take it all in. The security guard ran to the crash to help whoever needed it also.
Piper spoke up again, "Phoebe, what the hell happened?"
Phoebe shook her head, she feel Hank watching her, "I....I don't know."
Evan raised an eyebrow. "You sure heard the plane before any of us did," he said. "You saved our lives."
"But all those other people lost theirs," it was Hank who said it. He seemed sad, could you blame him?
They all sort of lingered there uselessly for a moment as the situation sunk in.
*
Phoebe, Piper, and Leo entered the manor's front door to find Billie rushing at them.
"Oh my god! I heard what happened. Are you alright? Did anyone get hurt?"
Phoebe sighed, "We're fine. And ... a lot of people lost their lives. It was terrible."
Billie hung her head, "I'm sorry."
"But there's something else," Phoebe said ushering them towards the living room. "I had a premonition before it happened."
Piper's ears perked up, "Right, I remember you acting weird."
Leo sulked over to the chair and sat down. He seemed to be taking the plane crash the worst. No doubt a flash back to his human years in WWII.
"Piper, it was freaky," Phoebe started. "It was more than the premonition. I saw signs."
Piper raised her eyebrow, "Most stores have them, Phoebe, they're called advertisements."
"No, Piper. Signs that were foretelling the plane crash," Phoebe sighed and thought about it for a while. "Remember when that guy bumped into you?"
Piper scoffed, "How could I forget?"
"Yeah," Phoebe said, "And you dropped your plane brochure. When I picked it up, I felt that plane on that brochure was some kind of sign or had some meaning."
Piper didn't say anything.
"And then," Phoebe continued, "The chandelier you wanted. You couldn't see the price because the tag was too red and was reflecting off of the crystal. In my premonition," she paused and readied herself, "in my premonition, that chandelier fell on Evan's head, the crystal was covered in..." she didn't have to finish her thought.
Piper grimaced, reminded of the terrible accident again.
"And then the fan on the ceiling...that mechanic who bumped into you....he was pulled into one of the plane's flying propellers."
Again Piper grimaced, along with Billie. Phoebe saw she was only making it worse so skipped to her point.
"It was almost like, I saw everyone's death without having a premonition. I think they were signs. That's never happened to me before."
Billie spoke up, "But it has to me."
Piper, Leo and Phoebe gave her questioning looks.
"Piper," Billie said, "Remember that girl I saved two nights ago? She ended up dead later on."
Piper nodded, "Yeah, how could I not?"
"Well," Billie continued, "She slipped on mud, and my shoes were muddy. And then there was the whole pipe thing. And the fact that you sat on the remote, at the exact time the news casting came on was freaky. I mean...it came on the right channel and everything. It's like....what Phoebe said. Those were signs."
Leo said, "Sounds like there's something bigger than just a premonition going on here."
Phoebe and Billie nodded. Piper was still putting the pieces together.
"So what now," Piper asked.
"I don't know. I hope it's over," Phoebe offered. "This is my first time hearing about Billie's innocent. How do we know this isn't going on all over the world?"
"It isn't," said a deep, cold voice behind them.
They turned around in surprise to see the Angel of Death standing there.
He looked at all of them before saying, "I've come to give you a message."

CHAPTER FOUR
"The Message"
Piper reacted first. "Like hell."
The angel ignored her. "You've intervened once again."
Phoebe rolled her eyes, "No. We didn't. We were just doing our jobs. We're witches, Hello!? We save innocent's lives. Plus I had a premonition about it. I'm sure the Elders or whoever sent it to me, so why are you knocking at our door?"
Death replied, "But you were not meant to have that premonition, Phoebe."
Suddenly, the room got a much darker vibe. Death's words cut through the air coolly.
"What do you mean," Phoebe asked with a shake voice.
"I mean," Death said, "somehow you had that premonition and managed to stop more than seven deaths. Normally, that would have put a major rip in the grand design but I'm better prepared this time."
Piper saw the underlying message, "What do you mean, better prepared?"
Death replied, "Let's just say that from now on, not even the Charmed Ones can fight death." And then, after saying that, the Angel of Death disappeared.
Billie was speechless.
"What the hell does that mean," Phoebe yelled at empty air.
Piper tried to calm her sister down, "Phoebe, relax. I'm sure that was just a bunch of cryptic crap he was throwing at us. Let's go see if there's anything in the book."
Billie followed them, "I'm coming with, this thing is way too freaky. Besides maybe I can be of some help, I've been scanning that book for days now, I know it like the back of my palm.
Leo looked towards Piper and saw the worried look hidden in her face. "You want me to go check to Victor's and check on the boys?"
Piper nodded, "Yeah, that would be a good idea," she gave her husband a long hug and a kiss. Was this her last time seeing him? "Wear a seatbelt and stop at red lights."
Leo half smiled, "Sure," he kissed her forehead and went for the keys.
Piper didn't say it out loud, but she was actually grateful for Leo's leaving. Better to have him on the other side of town, safe with her sons than in harm's way.
The three woman proceeded into the attic.
"Where's Paige," Phoebe asked. "I haven't seen her in weeks."
"Henry," was Piper's simple answer. "I think we should leave her out of this. She has a lot on her plate with her charges, her husband, and her job searching.
Billie made a face, "Paige is looking for work?"
"Yeah," Piper said walking over to the book, "Turns out her true calling lies in social work after all."
*
Henry was up late in the office, writing some letters of recommendation for his parolees when Paige orbed in. She had on the same blouse as the day before and her hair was a mess. She had heavy bags underneath her eyes and looked extremely tired.
"Honey, what's the matter," Henry asked dropping everything.
Paige drifted over to him and sat in his lap. She really needed a hug. "I lost another charge," she confessed.
Henry's mouth dropped open, "Another one? How?"
Paige sniffed, she was holding back tears. "Freak accident. She was walking her dog when he got loose and...she chased it into the street...there was a truck coming down the street..." Paige burst into tears unable to control herself. "She was dead before the paramedics got there."
Henry felt for his wife. He embraced her.
"I just saved her from a darklighter's arrow YESTERDAY!" Paige was losing it.
Henry tried to calm her down. This wasn't the first charge Paige lost in the last week. She had lost a total of three charges so far, all who she saved, only to lose the next day. His practical way of thinking was forming ideas.
"You talk to your sisters about it," he asked.
Paige shook her head, "They're busy with their lives, I don't want to come whining about my charges to them."
"But this sounds bigger than that," Henry said. "I may be talking out of term here, but it looks like a pattern. Sounds like someone or something wants your charges dead at all costs, no matter how many times you save them."
Paige looked at her husband. The man she had grown to love...and smiled. "Your right," she kissed him and stood up, regaining her strength. "And I'm going to find out what it is." She orbed out and Henry was left alone once again, staring at the spot where his wife orbed out.
"Gotta love her," he said to himself.

Hey, Patrick!
Is this the end of this story? This makes a good ending, but I have to say I really like it - I could wish that Season Nine had gone like this, even more than how the comic books are going since it doesn't include a bunch of rugrats!
If there's more, please continue.
