Despite only seeing Quake for one season and P3 for seven, I still like that restaurant as their main place to meet (other than the manor). I like P3 a lot too; I loved the music and when I was younger, I thought it was so cool that they got to hang out in a nightclub all the time However, since Piper said herself that she wanted to own a restaurant on more than one occassion, but she still seemed to really enjoy P3, which would you choose for the show, if there could only have been one? I think I would choose Quake. I liked the quieter setting of the restaurant better. I would have Piper own Quake and have that be one of the main places where scenes were shot, and maybe P3, or whatever it would then be called, could be a place we could see the sisters at every once in a while. So which would you choose?

Quake always kind of fit Piper as a character. Even the name reminded me of the powers she'd later receive (making things explode somehow reminds me of earthquakes). But I feel like P3 was a really nice addition to the show.
It would have been nice to have the two of them... a restaurant and a nightclub. After all, Beverly Hills 90210 had both the Peach Pit and the Peach Pit After Dark. Then, of course, Sex and the City had its café and they also went to several nightclubs.
So really... I'm torn. Interesting topic though.

I don't see the Charmed Ones in their 40s or 50s liking to spend their time in P3 as much. I think in the long run Quacke would be better but i liked P3 a lot.. I like that it was noisy and not quiet as Quacke was.

I was never a fan of P3. I would have chosen Quake.

I don't see the Charmed Ones in their 40s or 50s liking to spend their time in P3 as much. Really? Phoebe definitely would be going out to P3. Hell, the girls of Sex and the City still go out to nightclubs (the final scene of the movie is filmed at a bar/nightclub) and Kim Cattrall's character is 50. Clubs are fun because they give the stylist a chance to put the girls in sparkly and shiny clothes... and gives the hair stylists a chance to flex their styling muscles. Plus, it also gave us a chance to see some cool bands.

I too think part of the reason they had the idea of P3 was to show off the sisters in their cute outfits, but I did like seeing the bands playing. I liked how they would get finished with fighting a demon really late at night, and then would go out to P3. The restaurant wouldn't have stayed open that late, so I liked that there was a place that they hung out at that was seemingly always an option to go to.
But I still have to choose Quake for Piper's career because she was always so much more into cooking and owning her own restaurant than having a club, even if she did end up liking P3 a whole lot.

That's a very thought provoking question, and one that I am having a hard time answering.
I love to eat out. And I like doing it at a very nice restaurant, especially when I know that I am not picking up the check. So if I have to choose one, I guess it would be Quake.
But, even though Patty Halliwell and I will both be turning 60 come this April...if the Rolling Stones were going to appear at P3, I would be camped outside in order to get a good spot.

By the end of the film, Samantha's the only gal who's single (Charlotte, Carrie and Miranda are married... Charlotte and Miranda having been married during the television show) while both Charlotte and Miranda have children (Charlotte has two; one adopted daughter and one of her own). It has nothing to do with being single. It has everything to do with going out, having a couple drinks and hanging out with your friends. I know plenty of women who go out to have drinks with their girlfriends and have teenage kids. After all, P3 wasn't exactly the "cool" club in town.

But I tend to think of people at that age hanging out in classy places, more Quake than P3. Piper would own a restaurant after the end of the show and i think that's where they would choose to spend their time.

Well Piper never smacked Leo's face with the door while at P3 so I guess he likes P3 better.
I would pick Quake...it's more professional.

Although I loved all of the bands at P3 and some of my favorite sister-bonding scenes took place there, I also would've prefered Piper ending up with Quake rather than P3. She also wanted a restaurant. Her getting a nightclub seemed to be a bid for ratings and not much else, proven by the fact that once they no longer had bands as part of the show, you very seldom saw P3.

Why did she start a nightclub? I still don't remember how that happened... I mean what brought it on? It happened at the beginning of season 2, didn't it? Further proof that Constance Burge wasn't the almighty god people kind of treat her to be... then again it could have been one of the actresses ideas... just like it was Alyssa's idea to get the ability to fly (which was later given to her as levitation).

I completely agree. The only explanation Piper gave is that "this is similar to running a restaurant which is what i wanted to do, only less risky". It seems that she just wanted to run her own place whatever that place was. She was sick of working for someone else.

Here's the scene where Piper gets P3. As always when quoting the show, I'm copying from charmedscripts.tv.Scene: Outside a large building that's up for sale. Piper pulls up in her car. She gets out and walks inside.]
[Cut to inside. Rob is there looking around. Piper comes down the stairs.]
Piper: Oh, god, Rob. I’m so sorry I’m late. Uh, I got stuck at this thing and then my sister needed a ride, and I’m so totally screwed on the loan now, aren’t I?
Rob: Don’t be ridiculous. I’m just looking around, checking things out.
Piper: It needs a lot of work, uh, I know that. But that’s not a problem and just because the last two owners went bankrupt, doesn’t mean it can’t work. I’ve done three separate marketing studies and found a 68% interest in the target clientele.
Rob: Piper...
Piper: Plus, running a restaurant is very similar to running a club.
Rob: You’ve already shown me all this. I’ve got it. I’ve got everything, except for an understanding of why you wanna put yourself in a position to fail like this.
Piper: Uhh...
Rob: Clubs are an extremely high risk business, Piper. You could lose your shirt.
Piper: Well, it wouldn’t be the first time today. Look, I know what I’m getting myself into. I know the risks and actually it’s a lot less risk and a lot a less expensive than starting my own restaurant, which is what I really wanted to do. The point is, I’m tired of working for somebody else and helping them realizing their dreams. I wanna run my own place. This place. And I can do it, too. But not without your help.
Rob: Well, at the risk of you never wanting to go out with me again... Congratulations.
Piper: I got it?
Rob: You go it
Piper: Yay! So it sounds like the reason why she got the nightclub rather than the restaurant is she thought it would be less expensive.

That's probably very true considering she didn't need to hire chefs, order tons of food and an entire wait staff. So I guess her owning a nightclub made sense in context. I feel like maybe it was just the first step in her life as a career woman. Plus, it gave her more flexible hours for being both a mom and a witch. It's not like she'd have to go in everyday from 8 until 9.
If they ever did a Charmed reunion special or something I'm sure Piper would probably own her own restaurant or something. Maybe she'd turn the manor into a bed and breakfast or something... with magical entertainment. ^^;; Who knows.

Piper's dream was to be a chef and own her restaurant. Instead, she opted to become a nightclub owner, because she felt she had a better chance at running a successful business.
I realize this is going to sound cruel, but Piper opened P3 instead, because she lacked the guts to attempt becoming a restaurant owner. She took the easier route.

And that's exactly what Piper's personality was at that point. She's always been a very insecure and unsure character who has a lot of doubts about things. After all, when I first let my friend borrow my Charmed DVDs the first thing she had to say about Piper was "She's so mousy."

I think P3 had alot to do with Spelling and the network rather than Kern or Connie. I think by this point, Connie had already lost alot of power, afterall she was there to create the show not run it.
Piper's excuse was as others have said. She chickened out.

8-) I think the P3 is better than that for the Quake p3 piper club manages all but the Quake she had to obey orders and rooms all the work was coming. But in season 8 she is finally a restaurant and I like that Piper be happy and have the best.
