Just as the title says, pick the magical power that makes you roll your eyes. I thought when Cole turned people into stuff, like Darryl into a watercooler, was pretty ridiculous.

Actually, when Cole turned people into things wasn't that technically projection in a way? It's pretty much what Wyatt did when he made his toys come to life.
Hmm, powers that made me roll my eyes - the constant use of fireballs and energy balls (or is that not what you meant)
Wyatt's telekinetic blast made me really roll my eyes - it was just a show of how super powerful he was and there was just no need for that much power! If he really was that powerful then there would never be any demons after him because they would always lose!

Still, there are more useful things to do with a projection power other than turning people into inanimate objects, no matter how fun that would be.

You came up with my corniest power - Billie's projection crap! Particularly with how it was used, it never failed to make me roll my eyes.

How about that demon who used a magic camera to trap people in pictures? Yes! Sooo corny, that one. I would have to say the corniest powers for me were: 1) Photokinesis - Is it just me or is the whitelighter version of this power super corny? They used in "Witchstock" when the whitelighters were putting on a light show. And Paige used in "Repo Manor" to show Henry her powers. When Paige did it, it was sort of sweet, but still corny nonetheless. "Ooh, look at me, I can make magical lights do loopy-de-loops!" Give me a break. 2) thermodynamic generation When Leo warmed up Phoebe's tea in Season 1 (Secrets and Guys?) *Yawwwwn* and last but not least.... 3) Breath The freckled-face demon girl in "We All Scream for Ice Cream" gets the #1 spot for Most Corniest Power. Sure, making bodies disappear in a faintish light is cool, and so is blowing your enemies 20 feet backwards but by your BREATH? Nuh-uh, that's just ridiculous. I know she was just a kid, and they probably wanted to make her power youthful or whatever, but that was just dumb to me.

I think you get the award, Patrick, for coming up with the corniest fancy names for powers! Except for breath, both of those names made me roll *my* eyes even more than the powers themselves.

How about the God powers anyone? Can someone explain to me how Piper created a lava pit in her sunroom?
Yes I know it's magic, but it is really a deus ex machina

You think that's bad? You should hear the name I was going to give the breath power before. But a corny name for a corny power, ha How about the God powers anyone? Can someone explain to me how Piper created a lava pit in her sunroom?. I understood that power, simply using her power over earth (geokinesis) to create a chasm of some sort. But it was a little over-the-top. Not really Charmed-esque if you ask me. Which reminds me of the demon, Gith, in "My Three Witches" His power to create vortexes into other worlds was also a little much. Seeing Piper hanging onto the staircase banister while her house went sliding into a hole might have been humorous from other's point of views, but it's really silly if you think about it. What happened to demons who had to work for their goals. He was obviously lower-level considering his appearance and the fact that Chris could vanquish him so easily with a simple potion.

[/quote] Well, had she been outside, yes, but in the middle of the living room? *scratches head* Over-the-top, yes. Corny? Not really. I didn't count the power as corny, but I definitely counted the demon who *had* the power as unbelievable - as you said, it sounded like an upper-level power, one for Barbas perhaps, not Gith. Actually I counted Piper's power of "freezing time" as corny, because that's definitely not what she was doing, not when she was (as has been pointed out to me numerous times) actually freezing molecules. It's why I truly don't think that either set of sisters is the TRUE set of Charmed Ones - I think that's the ones of the WARREN line, not the Halliwell ones! And since we all believe Grams when she says that Halliwell women always keep their maiden names, obviously Melinda WARREN is *not* their ancestress - the one who came back in "The Witch is Back" had to be a fake!

I actually thought that vortex power what pretty cool and a good idea. Better than throwing energy balls all day long. No wonder the demons couldn't kill the TCOs, that's all they did! TCOs by that time knew what to expect.
I honestly wouldn't mine if most upper level demons possesed energy balls as a secondary power, while their main power is something new and creative.

Yup, I agree totally. Upper-level demons could've been interesting if they had a primary power while all of them could throw energy balls and shimmer which would be lower-level demons' only powers.
Phoebe's power of "premonition" was corny when she'd see the past. Always made me roll my eyes when they'd *call* it a premonition, when it would actually be a vision.

I never believed Grams when she claimed that Halliwell women always kept their maiden names. Halliwell was the name of her first husband. And Patty had pointed out that Grams had coerced her into keeping her maiden name, which was Halliwell.
Corniest power? Phoebe's empathy, which she is allegedly able to use to vanquish demons. Get real!

Wow, I was just thinking about that yesterday (currently watching season 6 DVD set). I thought they made a mistake by making her tap into demon's powers. But they fixed that little mistake by taking away her powers in "Crime and Witch Demeanors". I think it was a smart move not to show Phoebe using her empathy power again. It was too powerful of a development for empathy, especially in such a short period of time for a witch with passive powers. Your right, her empathy was unreal. Phoebe was better off having the lowest form of empathy, which in my opinion, she already had in her innately.

Her empathy was very convoluted. I can't understand how she tapped into demonic power at all! Do demons even posses emotions? If they do I find it hard to believe it is anything similar to the human psyche.

If they do I find it hard to believe it is anything similar to the human psyche. One of Charmed biggest problems is just like the fact that their whitelighters weren't really angels and their Elders definitely weren't archangels, their demons most definitely were not devils. Not quite sure what either set was truly trying to be, but by trying to not be really Christian and not be really Wiccan, it got to be very, very convoluted, coming up with a fantasy world all its own that had very little, if anything, to do with the real world. And *that* was the corniest thing of all!

I find it easy to believe. From what I have seen on the show, the emotions of demons struck me as very similar to those of humans.

I never liked how it was said that demons couldn't love, or have any other type of feeling. Even if the only emotion we ever saw expressed by a demon or warlock was hatred for witches, that's still an emotion. If they couldn't feel, they wouldn't be afraid of being vanquished and wouldn't crave approval from demons and warlocks with more powers.
Back to the powers: I actually like a lot of the powers that have been listed. The power where the little girl blew a kiss to make a body disappear was extremely creepy to me. And the power where Leo heats up Phoebe's tea was just the kind of power I would like to see on the show: subtle, yet enough to be able to see something magical happening. If they relied more on subtle powers, maybe they would have eventually added more like what we saw in All Halliwell's Eve to the show. By focusing on more explosive and intense powers, the show forgot what was introduced to us in AHE.

If they relied more on subtle powers, maybe they would have eventually added more like what we saw in All Halliwell's Eve to the show. By focusing on more explosive and intense powers, the show forgot what was introduced to us in AHE. That's true. Whenever a person who never watched Charmed before, watches it (because I talk about it a lot) they come back to me and tell me how silly it is. They actually laugh at the powers on the show. And I quote, "I don't know. She was doing something but it looked fake. Like silly. It was funny to me." The guy was talking about Piper's explosive power. So yes, towards the middle of the series, the magic got corny with these over-the-top powers. This is NOT "Sabrina, the Teenage Witch", yet people who don't watch the show may turn it on to see Paige orb some 'sticky stuff' and kill an acidic demon, or Piper creates fireworks and flowers above her head, or a BABY making his toys come alive or trapping his parents in a doll house. So yes, I agree that the subtlety was key. Once they lost that, everything seemed a bit corny. Oh, and what about Gammil from "Size Matters"? I mean, a shrinking wand? Come on now. What the hell was that all about? And to make it worse, he made figurines out of his victims. Sounds more like a "Goosebumps" episode than a Charmed one.

I only liked that demon because he was played by Robert Englund. I found it corny that the demon in the club didn't actually kill it's victims, just swallowed them. Our one chance to get rid of Jenny but the writer's don't take advantage of it.
