Christy was ok, for me, a good warlock If Billie was less dumb blonde and more a young and green witch, I'ld like her Above all, if Christy and Billie were P. Russel descendats, I'ld like more

I wonder if the show would have been better if one of those two sisters did not need to appear. What if the Halliwells had to save Christie without Billie's character or maybe Billie doesn't need to save anybody and it's just her... I still haven't seen the entire season but so far I don't hate Christie. I do agree that it was stupid to make them as powerful as the Charmed ones, that was mistake. But in terms of her character she's not the worst I have seen on Charmed, and I feel she brings more to the show than Billie... I see Christie as a tragic figure, a little like Cole, since she was abducted by demons and never had a chance to live a normal life. Despite that you can see the real vulnerability in her face when she asks her parents if they ever looked for her, and then she sells her anguish at losing them a lot better than Billies does. I think it's sad that she dies in the finale. Although i do like that for once, Charmed didn't feel the need to give everyone a happy ending. After all, losing people we love is a major part of life, so i think it's only fitting that the finale would include some sadness at the expense of a main character. It's one of the reasons I didn't love the scene where Leo is agonizing over his dying son, because there is no emotional payoff, Chris lives in the future, so it all feels so wasted, despite Brian Krause's great performance in that scene. Anyway, I really feel Billie is pretty much pointless on the show and I'm glad Kaley Cuocco found her specialty with comedy, and it's her presence more than Christie's that bothers me this season.

Yes, the only way we would get a season 8 is if Billie was introduced. We couldn't have it any other way. Otherwise maybe we were better off with the show ending after season 7. If only. I'm not sure this is true. I know the WB wanted them to introduce a young character, but I think S8 still would have happened. I remember reading a few places that the WB wanted to keep some of it's long running shows on while they transitioned to the rebranded CW so they could keep those viewers and engage them in their new content - hook them into the new format. So I do think Charmed would have still happened regardless. But they clearly made them introduce Billie.

Could she have been good? I think directed/acted. As Kaley is fantastic as a comedic actress, but she is not good at drama. Now if if Charmed was a sitcom, that's a different story. She may have worked out better if they hired a better dramatic actress in the role than a comedic one. Would that make much of a difference, maybe or maybe not. I still would have preferred Kyra surviving, and letting her be a demon who wanted to be a mortal. But I doubt the WB, would have allowed her to have a bigger part going right into S8, there's every chance they'd dump her in S8 like Darryl and reducing Leo's role and still bring in Billie anyway.

I can't stand how they seemed to have a checklist when they made Billie's character. Can she do karate? Check. Can she do outrageous backflips? Check. Does she maintain her femininity throughout all her fight scenes? Check. Is she a little sarcastic? Well, u get the picture. I wish for once Charmed would think outside the box and make a female character who was strong without doing karate, or being overly sarcastic. Think Katherine Hepburn in the African Queen. (Man, that probably makes me sound old lol.) She won an academy award for that part because she was a strong willed woman with a very straight moral compass, yet she never once lifted a fist in anger nor was she overly sarcastic, she just exuded purpose and determination throughout the movie.. And yes, i know u might get a lot of collective yawns from the teenagers who watched Charmed back in those days at such a character, but the less juvenile crowd that watched the show would have definitely been grateful for the change in pace. I know i loved the Charisma Carpenter character because she was so different from what i was used to in Charmed. Although some of that might have been the actress just pulling something out of nothing, i really don't know how her character was originally envisioned, but in Kaley Cuocco's case she just looks completely out of her element this whole season. I previously watched her in the "Simple Rules for dating my Teenage daughter" show with John Ritter, and was definitely moved by her performance in the episode when her father dies (although his real life death probably added more weight to the performance) but here when she is tasked with performing a similar scene when her parents are killed by demons she looked like someone who had never done an emotional acting scene in her life. So for me everything about the character is bad, Billie is poorly written, and Cuocco does a poor job of bringing Billie to life.

Could she have been good? Every character on Charmed had potential, I think Billie could have had the most potential especially because she was new to witchcraft and wanted to grow her knowledge and if that was focused on more than finding her sister, who I would have written as dead since she was useless to the Triad, then Billie could grow her knowledge of witchcraft properly without demonic intervention especially if they were banking on her having a spin-off series.

So I do think Charmed would have still happened regardless. But they clearly made them introduce Billie. And I'm just as certain it wouldn't. The actress' contracts were up and Rose WANTED OUT! I think Alyssa had had it, too, ready to go on to another series. Holly - now the star - is probably the only one who wanted it to continue, which is probably why the last episode is all about Piper. From what we read in spoilers while the series was being filmed, 'Something Wicca This Way Goes?' (with a question mark - and would've ended with the explosion - the final scene was added after the series was renewed only weeks before SWTWG was aired), The WB would only give Charmed a final season IF it introduced a sexy young blonde witch who could be spun off for The CW. We fans were SO excited that we'd get another season! If only we knew... Personally I think that had Billie's story NOT been part of the last season which fans feel should've been all about the sisters, fans wouldn't have hated her as much. Hiring a comic actress to do a dramatic role was also a horrible mistake. So was making her Kern's Mary Sue (obviously what he thought the Charmed Ones should've been like), so fans hated her the way so many hated Prue - Connie's Mary Sue.

I like Billie and wouldn't have minded a spin-off series with her. So, I think the series will do fine without Christy. They did fine without her prior to including her, in the storyline. And even killed her off. I vote Billie over Christy, any day.
