just a few questions about books:
1) whats the best general guide book, with all 8 seasons and everything?
2) Aside from the new comic are any of the novels set after S8?
3) Is there a chronology anywhere, that lists where in each series the books occur?
Thanks in advance

Well there's no complete guide as far as I know as they separated them into 2 volume. But you'll find it quite comprehensive as they covered each season in detail.

1) There are two official guide books to the series. The Book of Three Vol.1 (covers seasons 1-5) and The Book of Three Vol.2 (covers seasons 6-8) 2) The final Charmed novel released, 'Trickery Treat', is set after season 8. 3) There's no real timeline, since they're all standalone stories by different authors. But Charmed Wiki lists the corresponding season for each novel based on aspects of the story. charmed.wikia.com/wiki/Charmed_(novels) But none of them follow on from each other.

I wonder if, had the novels continued, would they have tried to link them up. With the series now over, I could see them doing that.
The Star Trek novels do that now. Since the Trek movies now take place in the alternate reality created by the 2009 movie, Trek Reality Prime has been left to the novels, which have now been given a great deal more creative freedom.
I can easily see the same happening in the Charmed novels. Too bad they ended just as they were moving into the post series time frame.

Yes, but I was talking about the original series of novels.

Too bad they had so many inconsistencies, I have most of them and the writers of them sometimes really messed up with the Charmed mythology. I think there was one that had Phoebe using energy balls!

The ones written by Paul Ruditis and Diana Gallagher were the best ones. They paid most attention to the show, it seemed.

Yeah, Shadow of the Sphinx, I read that one. Think they also referred to Cole as "Cole Porter" or something. :S The same writer did "The Gypsy Enchantment" and although it was so, so, so long ago that I read it, I recall rather enjoying that one.

I have a few of these, I have noticed a few inconsistencies with the show. The books completely miss the whole Rex and Hannah debacle and go straight to Claire being Prue's boss after the first book. It's funny though, when I was a teenager the books seemed huge and would take weeks to read...now I can read three in an hour....sad.
