This is great news.  After doing some online research, I'm only concerned about Zenescope Entertainmet's involvement. Since they mostly work on racey comicbooks, I hope they pull some of that back to make a comprehensive story. I hope the rumors are true. |

Sounds like the Kern influence--it will be more about chicks dressed in leather fighting demons than sisters who happen to be witches! And Phoebe will be lucky if she's even 1/100th covered! Guaranteed--no Coop in this comic book--she'll have a different slampiece in EVERY story! *sigh* Sounds like as always during the "The Peril of Piper" period, (since "Oh, My Goddess"), it's going to be a fantastic idea done horribly! Me, too, but I have a hunch they won't. And if they don't, I won't buy a single issue! |

LOL, why doesn't that surprise me? I'll never understood why you didn't stop watching Charmed after the first season and why you waste your time here. I never said that I had stopped watching CHARMED after Season 1. I'm surprised at you, Esmeralda. |

I wonder if it will be like the Charmed books we already have where they are different stories set out of continuity of the TV show, or will it take place after season 8.
I think that would be a neat idea.
I would love to write the Charmed comic, but I don't know if some of you will agree with the direction I would go in.

I said I was surprised that you didn't stop watching Charmed after the first season and why you waste your time here. I do because I loved the first three seasons and liked the next two and kept watching because every now and then I'd see glimpses of the characters I loved so much during those seasons. Reading your posts, it appears that you never enjoyed the show at all, so as I said, I don't understand why you wasted your time with it or why you waste your time with this site. |

Yep, but I would love to see the majority of fans liking it.
There are in fact many things I would like to see happen though....
-I would like to see Piper stop whining and become more motherly, but still tough when she needs to be.
-Phoebe's daughter being born, and Phoebe growing up a little more.
-Paige become a full time whitelighter and also going back to being a social worker.
-The return of warlocks and non-magical enemies instead of just calling everything a demon.
-A Big Bad who is a bada** and not annoying, and has an evil plot other than killing the Charmed Ones or stealing Wyatt's powers.
-More development of baby Chris.
-Magic School changing. I would want it to be more of a regular school just for witches, that teaches normal subjects like Math, Soc. Studies, Science etc....
-No more corny creautres like Pirates, Fairies, Orges and the like. I don't mind if they make brief cameos.
I know the majority of those things aren't going to happen, but if I were to make the comics that is how I would have handled it.

I agree with most of these except for Paige. I do NOT want her to be a full-time whitelighter--like Chris and Wyatt and her kids, they should NOT become that until they're dead! I want her to tell the Elders to STICK it and go back to being a full-time CHARMED ONE! But going back to being a social worker? Definitely.
For me, most important of all, I want Piper to convince the Elders to let Leo have his wings back. That way Paige doesn't need to take care of charges; Leo can do what was always his destiny and what he does best. Also, then he can go ahead and be a teacher at Magic School without all the kids using their magic on him. He can keep glamouring himself to look as older as Piper grows older, just like I'm sure he's done since they got married.
If that happened, I'd regain some respect for BOTH Piper and Leo, something I haven't had since "Oh, My Goddess!"
I just hope that they use the power of comic books properly and give us situations and villains that would be impossible to do on television while still staying faithful to the show. Particularly where all of the demons are supposed to have a truce for 20 years, it makes sense that any other bada$$ they go after is NOT a demon.
Actually what would make me the happiest is if the first "season" shows that the TRUE Bada$$es are the sisters themselves and have something ANYTHING happen to put them back on the proper track of being The Charmed Ones, protector of innocents, not just The Charmed Ones, vanquishers of evil beings.

I always thought of her whitelighter duties and social worker duties interlaping, although I don't how that would work out.
Leo glamouring doesn't really sit well with me. If he is a whitelighter, that means he can't die, and then Piper will have to die.
Well, Leo could always asked for his wings to be clipped again and go to the afterlife with Piper, but I personally think that would be an insult to Piper's character. She always wanted a normal life, and I think Leo growing old with her really fits that desire.

Yes, it fits HER desire, but what about what's best for LEO?? WHy does he have to remain her little errand boy just to make HER happy? And those magical kids would walk all over him!
It's obvious that Leo has been glamouring himself since he and Piper got married no matter if it sits well or not--look how much older he looks in S3 (when he got married) and S4 and S5 (when he was a whitelighter) and in S6 (when hewas an Elder) than he looked in S1???
And you're right--she'd have to die while he keeps living. But that's something they had to accept when a witch agreed to marry a whitelighter....the reason why Piper made the wrong decision when she decided between Leo and Dan...
Now had Leo given up his wings when they got married (meaning his kids would NOT have whitelighter powers--oh, HEAVEN!) then I'd agree with you. But in the same way that Piper can quit whining about her lack of a normal life when she and her sisters agreed to continue that destiny, she should not have married SOMEONE WHO WAS DEAD if she wanted a normal life!
Oh, I agree that Paige's whitelighter powers would work well with her social work. But NOT with her being a whitelighter under the Elders' thumb fulltime!

I never said for him to be an errand boy. I don't totally disagree with your point, and your point is very valid, but it just seems kind of sketchy.

As weird as this sounds, I have never in my life taken the time to read a comic.
I have of course seen them and the illustrations, however, I have never been impressed with the comics I have seen.
Having said that, I have read through all of the press releases about the new comics, and I have some questions that some of you may be able to answer.
They are talking about having an issue 0...what is an issue 0?
In the press releases, they said that issue 1 would debut at Comic Con -- but does anybody know where they will be available for purchase?
And finally, I am assuming that these comics will be available for purchase as an actual physical comic book, but has Zenescope ever put out comics digitally so that they may be purchased online?
For the avid comic book reader, these questions are probably idiotic, but again, I am a huge Charmed fan, and I will definitely be getting these comics to see how they expand the story right after 'Forever Charmed.'
It would be much appreciated if someone could provide answers to my questions above.

lol issue 0 is well issue 0. The issue before issue 1 ;D It will probably be a stand alone story though, maybe catching people up with the charmed lore. And you will be able to purchase the comic at your local comic book store or buy it online and have ti shipped to you.

Thanks for the link, abraxas! Of everything on the page, this is what I found most interesting: Getting the Rights
It has taken Zenescope about a year to get all the legal rights, including the right to use the actresses' likenesses. Alyssa Milano, Holly Marie Combs and Rose McGowan, all agreed to their likenesses being used, but it remains unclear if Brian Krause, Drew Fuller, Shannen Doherty, Kaley Cuoco, or any other of the important cast members have agreed as well. For Shannnen to even be included in that list surprises me, but since this is from wiki and it's a fan writing it, the fact that she's on that list might not mean anything. But Charmed without Leo would certainly seem strange. The others, not so much, since if this is supposed to take place after the Ultimate Battle, they weren't part of it. Well, of course, Billie was, but, of course, I'm hoping the new comic has nothing to do with her. Ditto for Adult Wyatt and Adult Chris and any of the other Adult kids - I hope they all stay in the future where they belong, just like Adult Wyatt and Adult Chris should've. Names I'm more interested in are Ivan Sergei, Victor Webster, James Read, Finola Hughes and Jennifer Rhodes. Henry and Coop were actually part of S8 (not just cameos) and what would Charmed be without Victor, Patty and Grams? What would fans think if any of these actors didn't give permission and the characters in the comic books were part of it, but looked nothing like the actors? Thanks again for the link! |

Heres the thing about comics. Its one thing to draw the actor and another to draw the charecter. Just like with Buffy, it looks like Buffy but not like SMG. Thats msot likely what would happen if they didnt agree to give permission/
